Wonderful except fitness room, but Golds Gym near👍

Location in Georgetown was great. Technology was nice to have a code instead of key, but I wasn't able to print any documents for a meeting I had (no business center and front desk couldn't print anything). Hotel was very basic. Clean, but basic. And felt tired and needs a refresh - coffee table was all scratched up. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up. Water leak / ballooning paint in the shower. If you are staying long term, might be a good option as they have laundry facilities, and units have full kitchen. But wouldn't stay here again for a short stay.

Me and my partner stayed here for a week during the New Year’s Eve. Overall it was great! We weren’t expecting the area we were living in to be so nice, lots of stores and restaurants, with great selection of everything. We barely communicated with the staff since everything was through the App which made us so easy and straightforward for us. No issues with check in or checking out. However those encounters that we had with the staff were great, very friendly and very informative. The place has everything you probably need, special shout out to the 3rd floor with all the essentials like paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods and laundry pods, as well as all the towels (however for those you need to get lucky since there is a big demand for towels). Since this is an apartment hotel, we weren’t expecting any cleaning during our stay, but there is an option to get your room cleaned for a fee. The only thing I could say is the parking situation which again, the property states itself that they don’t have. It was a little tricky with the parking; there is a parking lot a minute away from the Hotel, however they don’t have clear set rules on the payment and one day I was paying $23 for a day, the next day I was paying $23. In general the parking was confusing however if you can figure it out, or better, are traveling without a car this place will be an amazing place to stay! P.s. there is a bus stop close to the Hotel, and you’re around 15 minutes away from DC downtown

Can’t beat the location, and the pool table in the lounge was fun

Great location for DC. Lots of good restaurants near by. Great walks through George Town. Easy to get uber into the city and to from airport. They have lockers for luggage you can leave if you go into the city if it’s past, or before, check in/out. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable for me but ok for my wife.

Felt like an apartment or student housing converted to hotel. Perfectly fine , but had very little furniture for the space. Super old building.:: gym was closed .

Really good property and space. Super quiet considering location. The games room was nice but shame not connected. Gym looked good but didn’t use it. Location was fantastic. Most staff really nice and on site which is way better than another Sonder I have stayed at. One member of staff fairly grumpy!! Confusing parking in the area so wouldn’t recommend driving. Property very clean and good facilities. Beds very comfortable and sofa beds comfortable too (other Sonder I stayed at was so uncomfortable so was worried about this one).

The hotel was comfortable and convenient. Easy parking in the neighborhood. It was great to have a full kitchen with the room. The heating was a bit difficult to adjust, so were the shades. Check-in and communications were all online but easy to understand. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Nice big one bedroom apartment with kitchen. Some items were not functioning, like the coffee pot and closet door, but Sonder staff fixed those quickly. Overall the idea is self-service and automation, which reduces cost, and that works for us. The laundry room was great, along with the storage lockers downstairs for pre or post-stay.

Property was perfect for our weekend stay in Georgetown / DC area! Apartment was clean and exactly what we needed. Small kitchen fit our needs. Numerous restaurants, coffee shops and retail shopping within walking distance. No parking avail on property but across the street was a convenient parking garage. Will definitely stay here again.

The area is excellent! The hotel entrance is dirty, and my room needs to be updated; the paint is peeling, the toilet seat is loose, and overall, it is updated to match the pictures on the website. I was very disappointed with my stay.

Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience- my first and last time staying w/Sonder properties. My husband and I arrived shortly after 4:00p, exhausted from our travels, and very shocked and unpleasantly surprised to see the room completely filthy. I was unable to capture photos of the full magnitude of uncleanliness, but here a few things to note: -human & dog hair everywhere (on everything!) -loose debris all over the wood laminated floors -shower tub that doesn’t drain -human skin/nails on edge of the bed frame -food crumbs on the coffee table -dogs barking in the room next to us - WiFi interruptions (consistent) I did write to someone and they said they would speak to a manager- I haven’t heard back.

Fantastic location, quite walkable to GU campus, great restaurant options and shopping nearby. Ok value for money. Otherwise everything else pppr, don’t plan to stay again. Lobby simply not clean: everything shambolic, floors a bit sticky, grime everywhere, and a heavy perfume / cologne to mask it all, hallway carpets stained, paint and wallpaper stained w/ scuff and grease marks. When I got in the elevator, my shoes stuck to the floor, and there was a random coat hanger on the floor too. My 1st room was surprisingly spacious, and seemingly reasonably clean, and quiet … except for the WILDLY loud rental air conditioning unit that ran for 5 minutes every quarter hour. Could not sleep in what was otherwise a peaceful, reasonably comfortable and quiet room. I had to download the “Sonder” app to communicate with management to petition for a new room. Once I had the app, the management did communicate in a responsive fashion, and they found me a new room fairly quickly, so that was fairly good (but, I wonder, did they fix the problem for the next poor soul to use that room? I suspect not: a cursory glance at older reviews suggest that several other people have experienced the same issue, but I can’t be sure it was the same room on the 4th floor). My second room had a very low ceiling, stains on walls that had been shabbily painted over, and a distinct musty smell - I think emanating from an unclean wall unit air conditioner that I promptly turned off. Street noise too.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sonder Georgetown C&O. The space was clean, comfortable, and family-friendly, with great amenities and a nice private balcony. It’s in a great location—close to shops and attractions. Customer service was helpful, and although there were a few minor maintenance issues, they didn’t affect our experience. Would definitely stay again!

Privacy, ease of check-in and check-out process, all amenities, and cleanliness

This property needs remodeling now! Conditions in the room, bathroom and the kitchen are equally poor.

Location is great and the common areas are nice. Room is a bit dated and I was on a low floor so there was some light and noise coming through the big windows. But overall a nice stay.

Fantastic location. The apartment was a little tired but spacious, comfortable and quiet. The bed was super comfortable!! Walkable and easy to catch transport to major attractions. We would stay here again

Not too far from foggy bottom metro. Be prepared to do some walking if you are doing the tourist sights… that could be a feature or a bug depending on your activity level. One bedroom unit was spacious. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was way too dark!!!

Overall great property. Comfortable bed. Plenty of space. Walkable area. Two downsides: AC is VERY loud when it comes on/goes off, which definitely keeps you awake. Bathroom needs some updates (paint on tiles, shower curtain liner about 6 inches too short so water gets everywhere)

Overall a good stay in a good apartment in Georgetown. The only downside was the the A/C unit was INCREDIBLY loud, to the point it woke me up every time it switched on.

The Sonder is an apartment in the city. Great location, comfortable room with kitchen & a mini office space (dedicated desk) We could walk everywhere

Location is great, but the place smells, from the moment you walk in, like sewers. The room had a weird smell as well, not the housekeepers fault. It is minimally staffed therefore maintenance is a thing of the past. Walls in the room are beat up, they could be painted, knobs were loose. Shower curtain beat up. The SOFA BED, WARNING: It is not comfortable, they brand themselves as an upscale property but I cannot think why they would have such an uncomfortable sofabed, you could feel the wire. It's a bed, invest!!!! I don't think I'll stay here again, but for the price and location, I can see why people stay here. There is construction in front of the property and they start at 6:40 am, its loud.

Everything clean, there was a laundry in my floor. My room had everything: laundry detergent , soap, pots, glasses, a microwave,cofee. I miss a full glass mirror and wall or door hangers. Not that important but I think would be nice to have them

Great location - main shopping street in Georgetown is just a block up and easy access to the waterfront. Definitely stay for the location. Rooms and building were average and room definitely was dated. Don’t bother with a room with a patio.

We had a terrible stay at the sonder in Georgetown. We arrived and our room reeked of cigarette smoke. The air conditioning also did not work. We called immediately and while customer service answered, they did not provide a solution. They said someone would come to our unit to assess the situation but they didn’t come. When we arrived back at the apartment there was still no AC and no solution to cigarette smoke. Someone came at 1 AM as we could not sleep in the unbearable heat (it was 80 degrees outside). They sprayed Fabreeze to get rid of the smoke smell?? No fix to the AC. They finally arrived the next day (Saturday) to fix the AC after we called A THIRD time. The AC worked for about 2 hours — no AC the second night either. Absolute nightmare of an experience and makes me wonder if anyone cleaned the room at all if they didn’t notice all of these issues. We are SO disappointed. The location was great but we would never stay again - awful.

Difficult to Communicate with Sonder. Numerous steps before you can check in Very time-consuming

Once we got into the room it was lovely, spacious and clean with a really comfy bed. Check in however was a NIGHTMARE. Despite me messaging twice in the two days before our stay requesting details I was sent nothing, no info, no door code. No response through hotels.com. On arrival no one is there to help. Eventually had to change my mobile phone package to be able to make international calls so I could call to finally get sent the longwinded and annoying process of verifying my email / passport / picture etc etc. Creates a really really bad first impression. Please sort it out Sonder, as your lack of comms is really letting you down on what would otherwise be a great stay.

Quick response from maintenance to fix drain!

Beautiful accommodations – spacious. We Waited in lobby for around 30 minutes to get our key code Sent to our email. After getting upstairs to the room, the code didn’t work – we had to call back for help. Room was very nice – – if not for the fact that there was no hot water in the shower or In the kitchen for that matter. We ran it for about 20 to 25 minutes. Still no hot water. After a long day of travel we didn’t have any choice but to take a cold shower before heading to the airport

This was a first Sonder stay for me. I did not realize it would be all app based and not a traditional hotel stay. Despite, I enjoyed the experience once I had a hang of the process and app and how things functioned. Great value for what you get and location. I was impressed how smooth everything was and would stay here again thank you!

Everything worked out fine during our stay. The location and ease of getting around were wonderful. The only request would be easy to roll luggage carts. Other than that, the front desk staff and housekeeping ladies were helpful and welcoming.

Really great accommodation but with all the Sonder bologna. Crumby customer service, manipulative (forcing you to download the app to check when check in time is changed to 30 minutes AFTER the original check in time (4:00pm!)), door access code not working. The lockers are great. Pool table good addition. Stop saving money by trying to completely eliminate humans. It’s not really working and has twice screwed up the beginning of my holiday.

The location is the best part! The small kitchen area was also great and stocked with enough plates and glasses for little snacks. We were not in the room much. Water pressure in the shower was not great; main lighting in the room not so great but the location makes up for these smaller drawbacks. This property is about a 30-40 minute walk to the DC monuments and museums. The nearest Metro stop is maybe 15 minute walk away. If your primary focus for your visit is seeing those sights, plan accordingly. I would stay here again!

Conveniently located in Georgetown. A 20 mins walk to the Foggy Bottom metro station or 3 mins walk to the 33 Metro Bus.

Location, location, location! Right in the middle of Georgetown with access to shopping and dining! Easy walk to Foggy Bottom and the metro. Would definitely stay there again.

This was the perfect location for getting around Washington DC. It was located close to some great restaurants. I would stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location for variety of dining choices. Beautiful architecture and 5 minutes from the Harbor shopping and restaurants on the Potomac. AMC theaters nearby too.

It’s in a perfect location and easily walkable to bars, restaurants and shops in Georgetown and walkable (if you don’t mind a 30 min walk) to the National Mall/ Lincoln Memorial. We were glad to be staying in Georgetown rather than Washington as Georgetown has a very safe and villagey kind of feel whereas Washington, although safe, is rather more business like. We used the easy to use Capital Bikeshare to get around which was fun and so convenient (nearest rack to the hotel is a 2 min walk away at the waterfront) and it was only a 10 min cycle to all the main landmarks. It’s good to use the bikes to go round to the Thomas Jefferson and Martin Luther King memorials as otherwise it’s a very long walk. Ubers are plentiful and it costs about $18 for a Uber XL (6 people) to the National Mall ($9 for a regular) The hotel was great for our need. As long as you download the app beforehand it was easy to access and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. Travelling with 3 young adults (20.21,23) the two bed apartment was perfect (and huge) rather than having to get 3 separate hotel rooms. The bag storage on check out was great and really convenient and the access code for the front door works up until 10pm that day even though you have checked out of your room. We would definitely stay here again and would definitely consider Sonder hotels for future trips.

The area appeared safe and home-away-from-home amenities in the room were great. Restaurants were within walking distance as well as shopping and grocery stores.

Great room! Location is amazing! Ability to store luggage before checkin and after checkout is a very comfortable service. A lot of breakfast restaurants. We went Say cheese, liked a lot, healthy food.

Great location to walk around with plenty of choices to dine, and have a social beer.

The area was very nice walkable and appears safe supermarkets near by Sonder had great utensils pots pans cleaning items for a genuinely nice stay also it was air conditioned. Very nice shopping plaza near buy on M Street Transporyation excellent metro bus very reliable and a waterfront that was entertaining and scenic

Perfectly placed in a lovely historical area with plentiful dining out options.

A unique hotel. Great location, walkable to several great dining options, the Kennedy Center, the Tudor house , and more. Large rooms with full kitchens and comfy beds. Fairly quiet. A quiet neighborhood except for the airplanes and occasional helicopters, slamming stair doors. The provided white noise machine resolved thisa issues. We plan to return and will probably stay here again in the near future
