We stayed at The Riviera Beach House this past weekend and it was absolutely great! Jennie was at the front desk and was very professional and attentive. She offered rental bikes so we could take a stroll to East Beach, the SB Court House and all the way down State street. The room was clean. The patio was super cute. The location perfect, walking distance to everything. No complaints at all. We will be back this summer!

Arrived to a beautiful lobby and extremely friendly staff. No elevator but they do have a luggage lift to the second floor. Rooms are beautiful, small, but beautiful. When the 4 of us saw the room we thought “oh no! To small!” We actually loved it and the beds are amazingly comfortable as are the pillows! Beautiful outdoor seating areas on the 2nd floor roof. Location? The BEST! Right on State St and less than a block from the beach. Again, everything was so wonderful and honestly every time I visit Santa Barbara I’m only staying here.

While the room was a tad small and didn’t have a mini fridge, it was clean, up to date, and the bed was very comfortable. Site parking is limited and there is no elevator. There is free neighborhood parking nearby. The location is hard to beat as it is on State Street and very close to the Fun Zone and Stearns Wharf. Yes, I would stay there again.

Overall, my stay was very good. The staff was excellent and I also enjoyed the patio. I wish the hotel could’ve had some exercise equipment though.

Reception team were welcoming and friendly. Reception area was clean and relaxing. Valet parking was helpful Our room walks seemed thin and easy to hear ' neighbours' talking and we were unlucky that they decided to use the outside space to loudly and only moved when I asked at 0015 to be quiet! Great location for seafront and harbour and the shops!!

Great place. The staff was very friendly. One thing to know is that the parking is valet only and at the time of this review is $38 per night. Great location. The coffee they have is really good. I'd stay there again, especially if I don't have a car.

Fantastic location. Could walk to everything Trendy decor and lobby smelled incredible. Valet parking super convenient and reasonably priced. Downfall was the rooms were tiny and no elevator but they do offer luggage cart

Room is tiny tiny and said they were pet friendly. Unfortunately the room could not accommodate 2 people with 2 medium size dogs and luggage. One of our bath towels was stained with blood. The bathroom setup is tight. Had to go in the middle of night but the door is frosted glass so the light shone into room. Was not very private. Excellent toiletries though. The lobby was nice. Restaurant was good for breakfast. They had a dj playing music in the lobby Saturday evening. There was no where to take your dogs to the bathroom. So we had to walk them a ways to an area by the train which was a pain. We would not stay here again. If you’re alone it’s perfect. Near downtown and everything is in walking distance. We did have a small patio which was nice to have since it lacked space inside but it was hot and humid when we went so couldn’t exactly leave door open during the day but in evenings it was great.

Got to the room, and lo and behold there was no TP or Tissues in the room. That was unacceptable. They also wanted a $49 parking fee, so…booker of this hotel beware ! There is no free parking, but there is some ample parking behind the building on the street. The bed was comfortable, but what’s up with this European shower style they have in the room too..Water everywhere on the floor..not enclosed. Also, the king room was TINY. Just a bed and a bathroom. They’re also doing construction currently in the hotel . And No location to move around or even really put your stuff down in the room. I would look elsewhere around DTSB for a hotel next time ….

Property is clean quiet right next to a very good restaurant the lobby is very inviting coffee tea flavored water available all the time customer service was also excellent every request I had was met. My tip my middle age friends like me it’s no elevator and I can’t how many times I went up the stairs. Only 5 min walk to the wharf

A nice, clean hotel with a charming beachy vibe. The room was small but very practical, featuring a desk, chair, coffee station, and a comfortable king bed. The bathroom was clean and well-designed. What stood out the most was the incredibly friendly staff—including the valet—and the hotel’s dog-friendly atmosphere. My dog had a fantastic stay too!

Very disappointed with the size and arrangement of the room especially for the cost. Barely space to get around bed. No refrigerator for our items we ended up trashing and no microwave. No elevator and I did not arrange for a post surgery access room. Had to go up and down stairs. Had I known the arrangement I would have stayed elsewhere. The staff is awesome and the place is clean but think about what you need and want. I learned a hard lesson.

The location is 10/10. Very clean, staff was great. We brought our dog and they gave him a goody bag. The reason I selected 4 stars is because the rooms/bathroom are extremely small. Not that big of a deal because we weren’t in the room a lot but it would’ve been nice to have more space to stretch out. The lobby is cozy so we hung out there sometimes they had snacks and drinks. Tons of restaurants, shopping and beach access. Great stay!

Great location! Right in the heart of the funk zone I will say some things: - I read plenty of reviews about the rooms being small. I thought people were probably exaggerating. I am here to confirm the rooms are indeed super small. I was only there 2 nights and with just one other person so it was manageable. - The shower is messy. The way it’s set up, it’s quite impossible to not make a mess. I honestly don’t know who designed it and thought it was a great idea. It was also super tight. I dreaded having to shower during my stay. - Bed was comfy, no complaints there. - We parked in the neighborhood to avoid valet parking fee, but valet parking seemed to be limited. I want to say I would come back, but I’m not sure. The location is great and it was the most affordable option that didn’t look as bad in the area. However, the shower was a huge turn off.

You pay for the location of this property - a block from the beach and easy walking to restaurants and coffee shops. Make note there is no elevator so you have to lug your suitcase and bags up 2 flights of stairs. Rooms are tiny like NYC tiny and walls are paper thin. I was up for 3 hours having to listen to the people next door.

Location is great. Room was small. Bathroom did not have a real door and neither did the shower so the floor was puddly through our entire stay. The wet floor had a pipe and mold smell. Location is next to a train stop so there are moments when it’s loud. All that being said I might go back but fingers crossed on a bigger room and shower.

Great location. Showers were awful. Small, and flat to room , so water everywhere and we had to use our towels to keep from slipping. Soaking wet room. Also, be warned, if you do not specifically ask for your room to be cleaned, they will not clean it. We found out after 4 pm. Asked cleaning staff if they planned to clean our room, they seemed to understand. Asked front desk and the gal seemed a bit put out and stated we are to ask for the room to be cleaned. We did get our towels picked up that day and new towels and I asked the cleaning woman to empty our full trash baskets. Our beds a mess, which is disappointing as the cost of the trip, but overall, the area made up for it. Will not be staying there again.

Location is A . Blackout shades worked nicely. Lots of train noise/garbage truck noise in the early am. Rooms are so so so small. No mini fridge. Bathroom also incredibly small with swinging door, not much privacy.

The hotel was new, nice, and conveniently located near the beach and Funk Zone. The rooms are very small and the showers have no walls. There is no cleaning, you need to ask. However, it is the nosiest hotel on the planet. It’s right next to the train station, street noise is loud. This property really needs noise canceling windows. We could barely sleep. At an almost comical end to our stay, the cleaning crew decided to clean our windows from the outside with a water hose at 5:45am. Stay here if you are a deep sleeper.

A really lovely boutique hotel with modern rooms and a light airy feel to the hotel. We travelled by Amtrak so it was super convenient. We had a problem with our room the first night but it was sorted really quickly and the staff were genuinely keen to ensure we were happy. On the Friday night guests were invited to meet in the lounge area for wine and nibbles and to mingle with other guests. It was really nice and we chatted to some fellow travellers! The rooms are very small but comfortable and well equipped.

The staff was lame. Did not inform needed to REQUEST maid service. Overcharged both my sister and my credit cards, duplicating charges. Valet is a joke-$48 and you get your own car. One day valet put someone else’s keys in my car and I could have driven away with them. The hotel interior is beautiful but the rooms are TINY. The location is great.

This cute and perfectly located hotel offers all the touches that make it unique and comfortable. We used their bikes and rode around the town, down to the street fair and back. Coffee and tea in the morning was also available and perfect touch. Unfortunately,, we left a black bag in the checkin area before we started our long drive home. This hotel went above and beyond notifying us and shipping the bag back home. The staff were incredible and I can’t thank them enough. Thank you for making our short stay more enjoyable and proving hotels do care for their guests.

We have stayed here at least a couple of times a year for the last 7 years. Generally have great experiences. This last visit will be our last. The main point was the air conditioner was broken and they did not have any staff to fix nor did they have another room for us to move to. They knew the AC was broken during a heat wave and they booked the room anyways. The staff did offered to move us to another hotel but it was after midnight at that point and they offered no compensation to offset the experience. When we asked them to resolve they did not offer a resolution but asked us what we wanted to do to fix the situation. We have noticed decline in the staff and management teams over the past couple of years.

The hotel is well located, walking distance of everything. However, they neglect to advertise that there is a train station literally right next door. The train blows the horn at all times of the day and night. If you are looking for piece and quite this is not a place.

So many positives. Comfy beds and bedding, private patios on the ground floor, room service by the Nextdoor excellent restaurant Santos Mezcal (service to your door!!). 2 blocks from the very fun Funk Zone, valet parking is in site and fast. Staff were very accommodating.

Cute place to stay in the heart of the Funk Zone. Easily walkable to shops, restaurants, and the beach. We even walked to the farmers market for breakfast on Saturday morning. Staff was super friendly and gave us good recommendations for things to do in the area. They also gave us a nice wine tasting when we checked in. It was also one of the more affordable options in the area.

Property is clean quiet right next to a very good restaurant the lobby is very inviting coffee tea flavored water available all the time customer service was also excellent every request I had was met. My tip my middle age friends like me it’s no elevator and I can’t how many times I went up the stairs. Only 5 min walk to the wharf

The property itself is great and centrally located. We had a small room, considered a “garden suite” and quite frankly, I’m not sure it matters. It’s a love seat outside and that’s it. It is very noisy! We could hear doors slamming, people talking, vacuums, construction, you name it, it is not quiet at all. That being said, the staff was so nice and accommodating, the location is prime!
