OYO Rooftop Hostel

Good location near Myeongdong metro station and buses for the airport. It is also close to local shops with plenty of coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants nearby. There are also some money exchanges in the location. Room was as expected, shower and room were clean although the bed was uncomfortable, feeling like it really needed renewed. There was a fridge and a hairdryer and the aircon was good. Breakfast was good, choices are limited to toast, cereal and a variety of drinks. As someone who doesn't really eat breakfast the choices were fine for me. Quality was good. There are 2 outdoor areas, one on the rooftop and another on the first floor for smokers. Both areas are supposed to close at 10pm. On my visit the first floor area had quite a lot of cat or dog poo and this was not cleaned too, despite staff using the area. Make sure you wear shoes! In addition on my last night there were some very noisy residents outside at 1am wyck was extremely annoying as i had a very early rise for a flight. I also had issues with those in the room above being extremely noisy. It will be interesting to hear what the hotel day about this. Overall staff were friendly if I needed their help, the check in was fast and efficient and the location good. Just be aware its at the top of quite a steep hill and there's steps into the hotel be prepared if you have heavy cases. The location is good and I probably would stay here again. Noisy residents are just 1 of these things!

Property is very convenient & near to popular Myeong-dong shopping street. Given the price that we paid & in fact it's a hostel, it is consider a good accommodation option. The hostel staffs are friendly & the simple breakfast provided is much appreciated. Love the outdoor terrace & rooftop space. The street does get noisy & a tiny annoying as tourists especially youngsters cramming the streets with photos taking (for all their social medias). Perhaps because we were given a room facing the main street on 2nd floor.

Yes, 5 starts!! I traveled with my two young daughters and my sister, we were on a budget so we booked this hotel. They don't have an elevator, we had to carried our luggage all the way up to 3rd floor, I hope that changes in the future. Oyo was very clean place, room is big and spacious I did like it very much. Breakfast was cereal, bread, coffee and juice (self served) you have to wash your own plates after you eat breakfast, which was okay no bother for me. Front desk was very helpful when I asked for help on how to get around I was giving a map of the area and very easy to follow directions. You either can walk or grab an uber to places, is very easy. All the stores, restaurants and markets are near by so this place is the best place to stay. They lock the front door after 10pm but you have a key pad on the door lift that up and just type the code, very safe place. I had laundry and each basket was 10,000Korean Won which was not bad at all, they washed and folded for you, great service!!! They all speak very good English, staff very friendly and helpful, there is one staff member that besides English he speaks Spanish very well!! That's a plus!!! I visited Ecox mall, Namdaemun Market, Gyeongbokgung Palace, the tower is close to this hotel you can literally walk there it's called (Namsan Cable Car), you'll get a great view of the whole city it's beautiful. This hotel is 20min drive from Gimpo Airport. Yes, I highly recommend Oyo Hostel and I'll stay there again. Thank you

Amazing location. It was so easy to get around from there. The room was big. The staff was very friendly, and so helpful and when we requested a more bouncier pillow they immediately gave us a new one. The only downsize was the room was so humid that the moment you turn off the air conditioner that humidity came back. Also they have a really cute rooftop, I definitely recommend you to take a look.

Petite chambre sur micro terrasse fermée par rideau de fer car donnant sur passage en rez-de-chaussée. Terrasse en rooftop avec tables et chaises mais sans transat ni parasol. très bien situé entre tour Namsan et métro myeong dong .

Good value hotel that is centrally located. The rooftop is a nice extra and has lots of shops and restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat out. Staff were kind and spoke good English, breakfast was basic but was enough to keep us full for the day. Would happily stay here again.

It was directly under the Namsan tower in a silent area. The breakfast was enjoyable and the rooftop was the most beautiful place. Every person working there was really friendly and helpful. There was hot water for cleaning the dishes. And the rooms were clean too.

The property is located around meongdong street accessible to buses and train but no elevator.

First, this property has no elevator but Jason the receptionist assisted us in carrying our luggage to the 3rd floor. The property is okay as it lets you rest comfortably after a day from sight seeing. The space is just enough for our family. However, the sheets in the beds for some reason doesn't feel fresh and clean. The bathroom curtain has molds and was dirty. It would have been okay if the curtain was cleaner. The only provide shampoo and liquid soap which they don't really refill daily. The towels are small but they will provide you as much towels as your need. Daily housekeeping is done but the room doesn't feel and look fresh, maybe because the beddings doesn't smell clean. The best side of this property is that the reception guys are very nice and helpful especially Jason, Kim, John and Stephen. They can speak English and will try to help to accommodate whatever you need. We only had 1 chance to eat their free breakfast there but it was not bad and another bonus is that they will do your laundry for you with a fee of 10,000 KRW. We really appreciate Kim and John in helping us have our clothes washed even if it was getting late. We are normally out on tours from early morning until late and they tried to squeeze our laundry before the reception closes. They are not open 24 hours but they offer free coffee, tea and water dispenser for drinking water.

Condition of the place is old and broken. Dirty with cat feces on the garden and rooftop terrace. Noisy due to rubbish pick ups at 11-12 midnight. Place has no elevator. Bathroom condition was horrendous!!! No flushing toilet paper, tub and tiles on wall were cracked. Water pressure in shower was trickling. Just a very horrible experience! The staff was very helpful though.

Property maintenances is well but the room cleanliness could be improved with a little mold on the wall and dust. Overall is good. Would recommend it!

The staff is really great and the place is nice, the biggest issue personally was having to share the toilet and shower among three rooms (this is probably limited to the 4th floor rooms). Except the shower/toilet thing it was a really good experience.

We stayed here with family (3 adults and 2 kids). Room was big enough to accommodate us. The view of the namsan tower at night on the rooftop was amazing. Very accommodating staff. Very short walk to subway station and myeongdong shopping street! Highly recommended!!

The staff were very friendly and all spoke very good english. There were family rooms with a private bathroom. There is a bit of a hike to get to the hotel and to bring the luggage to the hostel but they make up for it woth excellent pricing and good information such as guides and transportation aids. Overall it was excellent and would stay with them again.

The staff is great!! They all speak English well and are so nice and kind. They have healped us greatly and i have also seen them helping out a lot of other hostel-stayers as well.

This was great value for the money! It’s situated north of the crazy touristy part of Myeong-dong and only a 4 min walk to the subway. It was very quiet and convenient. The staff were delightful. David is so great and I very much enjoyed our nightly chats whenever I came back to the hostel. I’d stay here again!

I went to Seoul with my friends, stayed at the OYO Rooftop. Theo is the guy at the front desk. He is amazing! Very helpful, friendly, speaks English and very accommodating. This small hotel is a jewel and would for sure comeback for my next Korean trip.

Ficamos 3 noites e tivemos uma boa estadia. O atendente foi super simpático e solícito em todas as nossas solicitações e dúvidas. A localização é o ponto forte, pois fica a uns 5 minutos a pé de Myeongdong, perto de restaurantes, lojas, linhas de metrô e também do ônibus para o aeroporto. O quarto era confortável e tamanho médio, ideal para três pessoas. Nos hospedamos no auge do inverno coreano e dentro do quarto era muito quente, tanto que dormimos com a janela aberta. Tinha ar condicionado, mas esse não deveria ser utilizado no inverno. O café da manhã era simples, com suco, leite, café, duas opções de pães, geleias, pasta de amendoim, entre outros. Não teve reposição de itens de higiene e toalhas, mas assim que solicitamos, nos atenderam prontamente. Recomendo e ficaria novamente pelo ótimo atendimento e localização.

Stayed 4 nights, great location. Breakfast was very basic. No fruit, cornflakes and Cheerios only. Staff was very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Good bathroom. Close to subway station.

Good value hotel that is centrally located. The rooftop is a nice extra and has lots of shops and restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat out. Staff were kind and spoke good English, breakfast was basic but was enough to keep us full for the day. Would happily stay here again.
