La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Santa Cruz

Pool is size of a large hot tub. Posted sign indicates pool capacity is "8" people. Breakfast was extensive and tasty.

Comfortable beds, clean and spacious room, nice balcony. Loved the rooftop lounge and fireplace!

Overall nice location . Elevator was broken the entire time we were there so had to carry all of our suitcases up and down 3 flights of stairs .

The fire pit which is prominent in marketing pictures did not have any propane so unusable. After attempting to check in early twice we finally checked in after check in time and even though front desk had said they would call us when the room was ready no one called,

The location is great. Walkable to the beach, wharf and boardwalk. Breakfast is good. The pool was very disappointing, extremely small and only 3ft deep.6 children inside the pool was already to many people.parking garage very tight, if you have a big vehicle good luck. We had a an F250 and very very tight. Family hotel, if you have floors above you be ready to hear kids running and dropping things above. A non smoking property.

Good stay. decent breakfast options. Location is really great. Pretty new property. Paid parking with really tight spots and some were EV only spots that were the only spots left open.

Fire pit was not working, when we asked about it staff said they needed to refill the propane tank. We were there for 2 days and they never refilled it. We were looking forward to sitting on the deck at night with the fire. One of the double beds in our room was broken. The staff was friendly and courteous.

I would say, the only issue was the parking. They charge $25 a night for parking and it is VERY minimal and spots are only for compact cars.

The hotel and our room were clean, and the staff was very friendly. The only negative thing was kind of a fluke, the elevator was unfortunately broken, and we had a room upstairs and the parking is in the garage, so it was somewhat of a pain hauling all of our luggage up multiple flights of stairs. But other than that issue our stay was good. The breakfast was fine, and you can't beat the location, about two blocks from the Boardwalk! We would definitely stay here again!

Clean inside but the window had bird poop and cobwebs but other than that small detail everything was awesome

Beautiful property. It is definitely a gem. The hotel grounds are modern and clean. The room was spacious and clean. The free breakfast was a plus. I will definitely stay here again.

Friendly Staff and Clean throughout the building

I had a very comfortable stay at the La Quinta in Santa Cruz, CA. The hotel is just a block away from the boardwalk. My room was clean and comfortable.

My room smelled so bad right at check in i thought it would get better but i woke up with a headache and feeling ill the smell never went away

There were little ants in the room.

The staff at this hotel is beyond excellent! There to help you for anything you need, the rooms were spotless and smelled amazing! The buffet is excellent! The location is perfect. I will not stay anywhere else when I visit Santa Cruz in the future.

This property is beautiful and the location is great, however the experience was not good. We left a sealed bag of wrapped salt water taffies on a counter top and it was swarming with ants by morning. Also, did they forget to insulate the walls? I should have been concerned when I noticed that earplugs were included in the bathrooms amenities. Loudest room ever. Screaming children, foot steps, snoring neighbors, we heard it all. This was up there with one of the worst hotel experiences of our lives.

The room was clean and staff very courteous the hotel is noisy - thin walls and floors. The people next to me and above me kept me up during the night.

Room was sparce, spacious but no furnishings to fill the space, 1 chair but room for a couch and coffee table, which were not there.

Great location. Far enough to have a little space during summertime break but close enough to have a pleasant walk to beach, wharf, and boardwalk. The hotel room was spacious with a balcony. The beds where no bad, pillows where lumpy which is not comfortable and cringing to look at. All the staff i encountered were helpful and fun to talk with.

Everything was good. The only thing that was unfortunate was the loud guests in the other rooms. Past 10:30pm on a sat night. Loud noises from neighbors above and kn halfway.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and towels were nice. Newer hotel so definitely some noise transfer especially in the morning with doors opening and closing. They could solve this by adjusting the pneumatic arms on the doors. I did not like the pillows. There were 6 of them and they were all the same. Might be better to have some variety.

The stay was nice, my only issue was our room door was broken. The safety lock latch was broken loose. And the balcony door was broken as well.

It's....fine. It's a new, beautiful building. So that's wonderful. And the staff is really nice. But get used to small things. VERY small pool. And the smallest/tightest parking spaces I've ever seen. It's a challenged to find a spot in the garage...especially when people park over the lines. The rooms along the back of the property have a view of a wall...so that was a huge disappointment. We asked to change and they didn't have anything available. So when you book, ask for a room at the FRONT of the property. But also keep in mind that 4 rooms on the first floor facing the front are essentially connected to the pool. The free breakfast is convenient...especially for families with kids. But the food is tough to eat...typical of hotel breakfasts like this. Stick with the toast, cereal and waffles and you'll be fine. It's incredibly convenient to the beach and boardwalk. Would I stay here again? Yes...but only if it's a 2nd floor front-facing room. And I rent a Smartcar so I am guaranteed a parking space.

Horrible internet and reception. Managed by a guy that has no customer skills.

The breakfast was solid. The precheck in emails they send you are nonsense. They will still need you to do all of it when you check in so don't bother. They sent me an email saying the room was ready, I get there and it's not ready. I had to wait 40 minutes once I got there so the room could be cleaned. Not sure why they would send me an email saying that the room was ready when it wasn't. They comped the parking which was nice.

The property itself is fine. We were very disappointed in our stay. We arrived about 3 pm at check-in time and we were told our room would be available in about 10 minutes. Several times after that we were told that it would be an additional few minutes. During that time, the staff did reimburse the cost of parking and provided bottled water, but we did not get into our room until 1 hour and 45 minutes later. We were told that the delay was due to it being too busy because of Spring Break and that they couldn't keep up with the schedule. One restroom was unavailable for use and the other one was not accessible for whatever reason while we waited for our room. We were not told until nearly that time that we could leave our belongings and go do other things in the area. We wasted that time waiting for our room with the expectation that it would be ready. We were offered late check out, but that was of no help as we didn't need it due to our travel arrangement. The pull out bed was also malformed and we had to seek out bedding in order to accommodate the 5th person in our party. The attendant did provide those within the 10 minutes promised. It wasn't a great experience for us, and I don't know that we'll select again in the future should we return to the area.

This hotel is in a GREAT location. The property is new, well-maintained and very clean and comfortable. The Front Desk staff, especially Jose, are great!

This hotel was awesome! Easy walk to the boardwalk. The hot breakfast was a major plus- eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, breads, cereal, fruit. Saved a lot of time and money having those options when waking up. I was originally going to book a balcony suite, but decided to save $100 and just get a regular king room. Then I was delighted when I arrived with my daughter, the host at the desk offered to upgrade us to balcony suite for free! Just had to wait an extra 15 minutes for it to be ready. That was the best surprise ever and made our stay a totally awesome experience. It was nice having breakfast on the patio of our room with the sea breeze. Will return to this hotel next time in Santa Cruz!

The actual property itself was fantastic . Clearly just been re furnished to a high standard The room was huge and we had a balcony over looking the pool. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well The only downside was the front of house/ welcome / support from the staff . They were quite abrupt and didn’t seem too friendly . When I asked if I could have a little more time to check out in the morning, I got a straight no.! Not even 30 minutes which I thought was a little unreasonable. Appreciate those rooms need to turned around but surely 30 mins would be ok. There is also a way to say no to customers and the person who I spoke to had no customer facing ability at all hence I’ve scored it down otherwise I would’ve given it a 10 out of 10.

Staff was very unprofessional, delt with 3 different people and they all made the check in process very uncomfortable and very difficult. Hotel was very nice but the staff was very unprofessional and made what should have been a great stay a terrible experience.

Check in was excellent! Super friendly staff and very clean atmosphere. Jose L helped us during our stay and handled our questions in a very professional manner. La Quinta should be lucky to have such a great employee.

Visited Santa Cruz for an overnight. This location is very close to the wharf/pier. Only a few mins walk. It was very quiet as well, located on a corner in a residential area, away from the amusement park. I had a pleasant stay.

Overall great stay. Hotel is clean and close to the beach. Parking in the underground garage can be challenging as the spaces are tight. The breakfast is good but the area it is served in is small and can get crowded. Overall we would stay again.

Great stay and overall great experience! Property and rooms super clean and in excellent shape. Very convenient location close to beach and oceanfront attractions. Only areas for improvement are fairly limited breakfast selection and a high daily parking fee charged by the hotel from guests.

This is a nice hotel close to the wharf and the boardwalk. It's nothing special but it is clean and they do have free breakfast. It ends at 9:00 which is a little early, 10:00 would be better. There is a $25 a night parking fee which I was not aware of. Parking is tight with a lot of compact spaces. Bed's are comfortable. Overall, a good stay.
