Nice design and layout. Rooms are small but cosy, modern, and well furnished. The shared spaces are cool and give a bit of a hostel vibe. Location is great, and close to many dining options. The parking can be a bit tricky to find at first, as it's not on the same street as the hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The location is great but it really is an upmarket hostel. The rooms are very small, the bed is badly positioned for two people to get out of comfortably and the bathroom is tiny - and water pretty much goes everywhere, without a shower screen. Nice decor and friendly staff but nothing in the room - fridge, iron, toaster all in "shared areas".

A nice change from the usual hotel rooms. Everything was new, clean and well presented. Great decor! Our only complaint was that there was no cofee in the kitchen after hours and it was difficult to get in and out of the bed, being against the window.

Great place to rest and relax. Useful amenities (laundry room, shared kitchen). No room service, but really who needs that these days, especially given the fabulous eateries around the hotel. We had a delicious meal at Orlo next door. Amazing restaurant with wonderful staff. Equaled only by the staff at Lyf. Thumbs up on all fronts.

SO well located and a lot going for this place but I do wish the rooms were a little better equipped. The philosophy of sharing is great - until it’s 11.30pm and you need a kettle, or the Uber Eats arrives and the only bowls available are four floors away. And who really wants to drink vino from a 3-D printed mug? For $40 per room everyone could have all they need.

Lovely hotel with great facilities including kitchen, laundry and chill out rooms for guests to use freely. Staff were super lovely and helpful. Rooms very stylish and the hotel is in a great area. Cleanliness and parking price the only issue for me. Room window ledges were a dust trap. Other than that would absolutely stay again.

Cute place, inexpensive but too noisy. All night you can hear guests above you and beside you in their rooms. Noise in the common areas goes through the night. Music is also played in the hallway that you hear from your room. I would not stay again.

Cosy room, the layout with the bed was a little snug but the room was nice and quiet, clean and modern. The shower did spill out into the rest of the bathroom making the floor and bathmat very wet. A bar fridge and kettle would be nice in the room, but for a quick overnight stay the room was sufficient and very well priced.

The service was excellent & the facilities were well looked after. However, my room was a bit different from the photos. The one & only window in my room was a lot smaller than in the images. It was a small cut out in the corner, so the room overall was quite dark since no natural light could get in. The window didn't open either, so couldn't get any fresh air. That being said, it was affordable & there's a nice cafe right next door with a fireplace. I'd stay here again, but only if I can get a room with an actual window with access to natural light. The suburb is a bit sketchy at night, ran into some unsavoury characters who tried to jump my friend & I. Also takes ages to get to the cbd from here - uber is a must. There's some great dining options during the day though, but don't go out alone in this area at night. I was lucky & had a friend with me

Rooms are TINY. I booked a "one of a kind Plus", and the layout of the room isn't like any of the layouts shown on the website. The bed had a wall top, bottom, one entire side and about a third of the other side - meaning getting in and out of the bed was tricky. The bathroom design is so bad - the toilet sits immediately behind the frosted glass door, and doesn't actually close completely. The shower is tiny, and has a very small shower screen, meaning the entire bathroom, including the bin, and the toilet get wet during a shower. I questioned the room type, because it didn't seem to be "plus" in any way - and I was told it was definitely a "plus" room. It included a shared "kitchenette" with another room. The kitchenette had some crockery and cutlery, but no way to wash them. I checked in the "chill" room for any items to clean up after we used some plates and cutlery - but there was just a sink of dirty dishes their too.

Nice hotel in a cool area and lovely and helpful staff! I like that Lyf promotes sustainability with shared spaces etc. Cafe next door, South of Johnston, with a fireplace was fantastic. However, the hotel was not very quiet. Rooms - yes I asked to change to another one but that wasn't much better - let all the noise from the streets in and water pipes were noisy as well. I guess for sound sleepers and people staying up late this is not an issue. Bed was super comfy though but I was not a fan of the bed "frame" design, bed was awkward to get in to as it was on a weird platform.

Great place to stay. The staff on evening shift are very friendly. They welcome me and my cat with small gift for my cat in the room which is outstanding gesture. I’m not a fussy guest or demanding too much as long as the staff are playing their part as they should.

Shocking Experience – Misleading Policies I’ve stayed at this hotel three times previously with my dog, relying on their advertised pet-friendly amenities. However, during my recent stay, I was shocked to discover that their pet policy had changed in April—something that was never communicated to me during booking or check-in. When my partner arrived late Friday with our dog, she was refused check-in. Despite my requests for an exception or a reasonable solution, staff repeatedly refused and offered no viable options. I even offered to pay a cleaning fee, but the only suggestion was a far more expensive alternative at another property. This left me with no choice but to give the room to my partner while I had to make a makeshift bed and sleep in my office with my dog. The lack of transparency, refusal to accommodate, and overall treatment were unacceptable. If your policy has changed, it must be communicated clearly on your website and booking platforms. I won’t be returning after this experience and would caution others to confirm policies before booking.

This hotel was so Great and exceeded my expectation. Two rooms with kitchen was so great for our family eco friendly place with lots of amenities like kitchen, laundery rooms and nice terrasse. Great neighbourhood with plenty of dinning options with tram at 3 minutes walk. I would recommend this hotel!

The room was small, but cute, and was all that was needed in a space. Access to perfect shared kitchen and cooking spaces, cool laundry facilites, comfy outdoor spaces and indoor spaces where you can work alone or hang with your friends. Really great vibes here. Just needed more than one free coffee a day seeing as theres no coffee machine in room. Loved my stay here
