Room was nice, clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendly. Easy walk to beach and city center. Had a two nice balconies with view of ocean. The pool on the roof is small but comfortable. There was no bar or food service at the pool which was a bummer. You need to go to a beach club (for cost) if you want to sun bathe on a lounger chair.

Our stay at Casa Astral was really amazing. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We rented the apartment with 2 bedrooms and it was the perfect setup for me and my two daughters. The views from the rooftop were breathtaking and the property is well maintained and very clean. The pool is on the roof and there is a beautiful outdoor patio to lounge in. The only downside is that although it’s literally a 2 minute walk, it’s not directly on the beach as I believed so there are no lounge chairs or even a piece of beach to hang out at which meant we had to walk 20 minutes and pay for chairs at other hotels which was quite expensive (between 25 USD and 100 USD per person per day). That area of the island also had a lot of seaweed and the beaches weren’t swept or taken care of. The seaweed smells absolutely horrible to a point where we couldn’t stay there so ended up walking to the other side of Holbox beach toward Punta Moskito where this was not a problem. The restaurant is only open until 2 pm and offers a very limited menu which also meant going out for every meal which is fine, but strange considering every other hotel has a cafe or restaurant. That said, If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and beautiful setting, and don’t mind walking or taking a “taxi” to and from the beach everyday, I definitely recommend Casa Astral.

Great hotel, with a very friendly staff. Only recommendation is that they should heat the rooftop pool, as it was quite cold. Also should have blow dryers in the room. We asked, but it was never brought over to us. Other than that, a great experience all around!

I think I had higher expectations being this a VIP Access hotel, but I found it just average. On the positive side, the staff was kind and the room was comfortable. On the other hand, the breakfast is very basic, the terrace, even if it has a nice view, didn’t even have cushions for the stone “seats” and my husband found the pool dirty. Also, we arrived in Holbox a few days after a hurricane pass, which is not the hotel’s fault of course, but I would have appreciated a warning from them saying that there was a risk of not being able to reach the hotel by “taxi” due to the road conditions which would have helped me prepare for it at least on bringing light backpacks.

Safe was not working, one door handle broken (none of these were surprises for management, so long standing issues), an unwelcoming smell of sewage was welcoming us in the lobby at different times but every day of our stay.

This place exceeded my expectations. It had a lovely roof top area with pool and bar. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. The balcony was super relaxing and spacious. I definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Amazing stay, hotel was recently opened so the rooms were new and clean. Super friendly staff and very very helpful. On the back side, it's a little far away from the action but that also makes it quite silent and peaceful. Amazing view from the 3rd floor.

Fantastic experience. Rooms were so clean and beautiful. 1 minute walk to the beach with views of the water from every balcony. A good restaurant downstairs and a small beach club next door with lots of other options. Took less than 15 minutes to walk downtown. Less if you ride a bike but it was raining a lot so walking the beach was often the best route. Super friendly staff. Only negative was our ac stopped working on the 2nd to last flight and it was pretty hard to sleep through that. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Costo vs beneficios ( no vale la pena ) mosquiteros rotos , sin papel d ebaño , sin servilletas , toallas rotas , camas llenas de arena , ni un dulce en el cuarto y las dos cocacolas que colocan las cobran aun si las repones , no tiene calentador el jacuzzi , no tienen servicio en el bar de arriba , muebles ya deteriorados , cobran un impuesto según ellos extra , en fin mala experiencia , muy mal sabor de boca

Thank you Kassandra and Deisy for your warm hospitality and service. They helped me arrange food and beer delivered to my door (lobster pizza was insane) and arranged an early morning taxi for me. The property was immaculate, the pictures don't do it justice. My room had a patio facing with full view of the pristine beach and water. I had such a relaxing and peaceful experience here. I came during prime mosquito season and it was still worth it.

We were pleased with our stay at Casa Astral. A lovely hotel. The staff was welcoming, very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a deluxe room which was clean and comfortable with a small balcony. Enjoyed excellent breakfasts at the hotel every morning. The location a short walk from town and Playa Punta Cocos and there was a wonderful restaurant,Cafe Del Mar (ceviche and octopus were outstanding) on the beach right in front. We would love to go back.

This cool hotel is less than 1/2 block from a beach, a short walk to beaches that are nicer to hang out. The room was very clean and had good AC. Bed was comfortable, pillows less than luxurious. Due to rain we spent time at the hotel as some of our planned activities weren't possible. The restaurant and rooftop bar has excellent service and tasty, nicely presented food. Special acknowledgement to chef and to Ismael for making our stay special, and to the manager for great communication!!

The staff was extremely accommodating from the start. While it was initially difficult to get a hold of them, they did follow up to confirm our arrival time and even held our reservation when we missed our flight — which we really appreciated. The room itself was small but comfortable, with a fully functioning and quiet AC. The only noticeable downside was the pillows — they were quite thin. We requested extras, but unfortunately, since the hotel was fully booked, none were available. Our favorite part was the rooftop pool and bar. The views, especially at sunset, were absolutely beautiful. A special shoutout to Mario — he was incredibly kind, helpful, and fun to talk to. He gave us great recommendations and truly elevated our experience. Also, thank you to the cleaning staff — they were amazing! Would love to return soon. Highly recommend this stay!

Rummet var bra men för dåligt underhållet. Vi hade rum på våning två utan havsutsikt. Dörren till balkongen glappade i låset och det lät rätt mycket från gatan på nätterna. Bekväma sängar iaf. Tyvärr saknades mörkläggningsgardin i ett av våra sovrum så det blev helt ljust vid soluppgången och ACn levde ett eget liv och lät rätt mycket. Personalen löste inte något av våra problem på 5(!) dagar trots att vi sade till. Skulle ändå kunna komma tillbaka men då bara till rum med havsutsikt.

This is an incredible property. Situated very close to the beach, and about a pleasant 15 minute walk to town. Quiet area away from downtown. If you're looking for a view, be sure to book an apartment. The standard room is extremely basic with no view, although the bathroom is very nice and the king size bed is really comfortable. Housekeeping could use some training, but the room was nice and clean. Since we had no view in the room, we spent a good deal of time on the beautiful rooftop terrace during the heat of the day - there is both shade and sun areas. The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos, but very nice. The staff at the front desk was super helpful and gave us lots of good information about the area. We will definitely return to stay at this beautiful property on our next visit to Holbox.

We had no power for one entire day, no running water, we had to sleep with the door open, our room was next to an access road there was traffic and noise the entire night, we lost power on Saturday so we couldn’t shower or eat at the hotel that night.. we were offered a common shower and common bathroom… one bathroom and shower for the entire hotel .. disgusting… people at the island said that this happens often at this hotel … I understand the staff has no control over this and they were nice and polite but the manager refuse to credit the night we couldn’t sleep shower or do anything for an entire day, not an even an apology from him … I would avoid this one place … when we checked out we were over charged when asked for a receipt for the drinks that supposedly we had they couldn’t provide any…

Where do I begin, from the moment we arrived our experience was a 10 out of 10! Arvin at the front desk was so very kind and helpful Jose at the pool bar was friendly and took special care when making our drinks. The rooftop infinity pool had the best views for the sunsets! The staff even took time to make our room special with balloons ribbons and towel swans for our anniversary it was so sweet! I can not wait to spend another few days in paradise with this staff and their property

We stayed for 5 nights. We loved the location of the hotel, all of the amenities, and the room was both very clean and beautiful. The receptionists Daisy and Kassandra were very welcoming, pleasant, and professional. Kassandra went above and beyond in recommending tours, restaurants, and assisting in getting take-out food. We highly recommend Casa Astral and we plan on coming back soon!

Hotel con buenas instalaciones. Yo me quedé en la habitación con cocina y dos camas. Muy amplia, cómoda. Los acabados de las habitaciones son bonitos y están en muy buen estado. El servicio del hotel es muy bueno. Te ayudan a coordinar cualquier aspecto de tu viaje. Están disponibles para ayudarte con cualquier duda. Lo único es que el personal no esta las 24 hrs. La última noche me toco unos vecinos muy ruidosos y no se puede hacer nada porque no hay nadie responsable del hotel hasta las 7pm.

The hotel is beautiful… very clean and nice… the only bad thing was being over charged at the restaurant and roof top bar..they double charged and tried to charge us for things that we didn’t order… I felt ripped off.. which was too bad because we would have eaten and drank there the whole time

This hotel feels like a rustic resort! It was clean and the reception staff were helpful and nice. I booked the tours they recommended and had a great time! Casa Astral is located on the quieter side of the island. It’s a bit of a walk to the “centro” but no more than 12-15 minutes to get there. The hotel isn’t directly by the water, but it is a quick 2 minute walk. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and I can’t wait to be back.

Thank you Kassandra and Deisy for your warm hospitality and service. They helped me arrange food and beer delivered to my door (lobster pizza was insane) and arranged an early morning taxi for me. The property was immaculate, the pictures don't do it justice. My room had a patio facing with full view of the pristine beach and water. I had such a relaxing and peaceful experience here. I came during prime mosquito season and it was still worth it.

Casa Astral is a beautiful hotel. Very clean, helpful staff, beautiful pool and bar area. The only thing missing is a hotel restaurant, which is something that's coming, the staff told me. A huge shout out to Victor at the reception desk. He went above and beyond to help me with all the different things I needed or had questions about. Michelle, evening reception, was a huge help, as well the night I arrived (more than 5 hours late). All their help and kindness is so appreciated!

It was farther from town, then we wanted. Not very many restaurants around could not walk back at night from town because of darkness and no lights. The only beach beach club that was convenient was expensive.

Room was nice, clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendly. Easy walk to beach and city center. Had a two nice balconies with view of ocean. The pool on the roof is small but comfortable. There was no bar or food service at the pool which was a bummer. You need to go to a beach club (for cost) if you want to sun bathe on a lounger chair.

We were pleased with our stay at Casa Astral. A lovely hotel. The staff was welcoming, very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a deluxe room which was clean and comfortable with a small balcony. Enjoyed excellent breakfasts at the hotel every morning. The location a short walk from town and Playa Punta Cocos and there was a wonderful restaurant,Cafe Del Mar (ceviche and octopus were outstanding) on the beach right in front. We would love to go back.

I think I had higher expectations being this a VIP Access hotel, but I found it just average. On the positive side, the staff was kind and the room was comfortable. On the other hand, the breakfast is very basic, the terrace, even if it has a nice view, didn’t even have cushions for the stone “seats” and my husband found the pool dirty. Also, we arrived in Holbox a few days after a hurricane pass, which is not the hotel’s fault of course, but I would have appreciated a warning from them saying that there was a risk of not being able to reach the hotel by “taxi” due to the road conditions which would have helped me prepare for it at least on bringing light backpacks.

This cool hotel is less than 1/2 block from a beach, a short walk to beaches that are nicer to hang out. The room was very clean and had good AC. Bed was comfortable, pillows less than luxurious. Due to rain we spent time at the hotel as some of our planned activities weren't possible. The restaurant and rooftop bar has excellent service and tasty, nicely presented food. Special acknowledgement to chef and to Ismael for making our stay special, and to the manager for great communication!!

Recently stayed here for 3 nights and had a very relaxing and beautiful stay! The hotel looks like it is just opening, so a lot of the main things like room service/restaurant did not seem to be operating, however there are plenty of places to eat nearby and in Holbox and so that was not an issue for me at all! (a really good restaurant nearby called La Cabane! for breakfast, lunch, and dinner options)! The room itself was very beautiful and had a local chic feel to it. The property felt safe and I especially enjoyed meeting the front desk team Arvin and Michelle who were friendly and local to Holbox and talked about things to see and do around Holbox! really cool people! The only thing I would say to consider is that this hotel is a bit further out from the center of town (this was perfect for me) as I do not like the noise and crowds, but it's definitely walkable to the center of town where the roo-haha happens.. (about 10-15 minutes walking). It's perfectly safe to do so, even at night when it's pitch dark and walking under the star lit night, (though there is plenty of golf cart taxis you can take you there and back as well!) - a taxi to the hotel/center of town/ferry should be around $150 MXPs each way (definitely not more than 200 or around $7-10 USD) fyi. - the nicer swimming beaches are going to be further up toward Playa Mosquito, but those hotels start to get more expensive, rowdier + older (from my research) - point being there is something for everyone

While it was initially difficult to get a hold of them, they did follow up to confirm our arrival time and even held our reservation when we missed our flight — which we really appreciated. The room itself was small but comfortable, with a fully functioning and quiet AC. The only noticeable downside was the pillows — they were quite thin. We requested extras, but unfortunately, since the hotel was fully booked, none were available. Our favorite part was the rooftop pool and bar. A 10/10 experience for us. The rooftop pool & bar is very cool with ocean view. I highly recomend getting a Michelada with Maracuja from Enrqiue, who is a super service oriented guy who will make sure your experience is a 10/10. Also the beach in front of the hotel is nice because it‘s not very crowded.

Our stay at Casa Astral was really amazing. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We rented the apartment with 2 bedrooms and it was the perfect setup for me and my two daughters. The views from the rooftop were breathtaking and the property is well maintained and very clean. The pool is on the roof and there is a beautiful outdoor patio to lounge in. The only downside is that although it’s literally a 2 minute walk, it’s not directly on the beach as I believed so there are no lounge chairs or even a piece of beach to hang out at which meant we had to walk 20 minutes and pay for chairs at other hotels which was quite expensive (between 25 USD and 100 USD per person per day). That area of the island also had a lot of seaweed and the beaches weren’t swept or taken care of. The restaurant is only open until 2 pm and offers a very limited menu which also meant going out for every meal which is fine, but strange considering every other hotel has a cafe or restaurant. That said, If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and beautiful setting, and don’t mind walking or taking a “taxi” to and from the beach everyday, I definitely recommend Casa Astral.
Our stay at Casa Astral was really amazing. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We rented the apartment with 2 bedrooms and it was the perfect setup for me and my two daughters. The views from the rooftop were breathtaking and the property is well maintained and very clean. The pool is on the roof and there is a beautiful outdoor patio to lounge in. The only downside is that although it’s literally a 2 minute walk, it’s not directly on the beach as I believed so there are no lounge chairs or even a piece of beach to hang out at which meant we had to walk 20 minutes and pay for chairs at other hotels which was quite expensive (between 25 USD and 100 USD per person per day). That area of the island also had a lot of seaweed and the beaches weren’t swept or taken care of. We were pleased with our stay at Casa Astral. A lovely hotel. The staff was welcoming, very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a deluxe room which was clean and comfortable with a small balcony. Enjoyed excellent breakfasts at the hotel every morning. The location a short walk from town and Playa Punta Cocos and there was a wonderful restaurant,Cafe Del Mar (ceviche and octopus were outstanding) on the beach right in front. We would love to go back.

Our bunk bed room was smaller than expected. The included breakfast is bread and fruit. The restaurant is outside therefore there is tons of mosquitos and flies, come prepared. There was no elevator. We were in the 3rd floor, which was a bit annoying. There is also no fridge in the room with bunk beds. Nowhere to get ice, other than in the rooftop and the girl up there said her ice was limited, so I didn’t want to ask her again.

This property needs to hire more staff that are welcoming, upon arrival at 2:45 pm they said my room would not be ready until 3:30 pm when check in time is supposed to be at 3. Then the front desk said to wait upstairs at the rooftop pool and order food and drinks but upon going up to the roof the staff upstairs said the kitchen was closed. Very Poor communication and very rude comments and stares. The complimentary breakfast via Expedia and all they gave us was a peace of bread with butter and jelly. I would not stay here again

Horrible!! The room is extremely small! You hit your head with the above bed all the time and has 0 space to put your bags. The room and the bathroom are super dark with very small windows! The bathroom shower is design to keep the water for days arround the stones so the bathroom and the room are constatly feeling humid. One day we arrived in the hotel and ask if we could buy some water and they told us they don’t sale water!!! How can you not sale water for the love of god that is the minimum ! They don’t give beach towel…. No rental bicycle… The breakfast was very very basic with no much to have but eggs! No even a cappuccino can be ordered! Only thing that was working well was the AC. I will never stay here again!
