I was surprised by the size of my room. I also had a full kitchen which was nice. I had an amazing sleep v/c beds were very comfortable and pillows weren’t overly big like others. Only issue was when I got off elevator you could hear ice maker beeping but I couldn’t hear in my room. Overall great experience and I would recommend. Ps breakfast was fair… just eat waffles and fruit and skip the rest because it didn’t look too appetizing

Check in was easy and the lady was super friendly. Our first room the ac wasn’t working , dirty band aid on floor and just not clean. They changed our room. Second room felt better and was tidier. The pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile.

Teenagers were allowed to swim in the pool very late at night. Their laughter and play carried to our room on the fourth floor. Called guest services two nights in a row, 11:30 PM and then 11:00 PM. Pool guidelines state closed at 9:30 PM.

Great Hotel, it’s newer so it’s not as worn but still has some construction flaws. Suite 501 was great, large for our family of 5, beds were comfy. Only real complaint I have is the ice in the ice machine had bugs and dirt in it. Front desk staff were friendly, pleasant, and helpful. The breakfast crew literally just grunted when asked a question, I’m not a morning person either but ok… breakfast isn’t only on weekdays, as listed here. It’s every day. Overall, great experience and worth the price.

I have stayed at several TownePlace and espec have been impressed with room size and hot breakfast. I would say this particular one appears like the others from the outside but falls a bit short. The room was reasonably clean. Floor have goo on it. Windows were very dirty. Breakfast was okay. . What was surprising was how many employees spent so much time right outside the building smoking or just hanging out in the small lobby area by the elevator. We started to use the back entrance but two large rolling trash cans (clean, prob used for kau dry, not trash) were always on the sidewalk blocking the path to the backdoor (by the pool). We could move each timeand rather deal with clean trash cans than walking by smokers. I get that this might be a regional thing, that smoking is still very common in the South. But when employees (incldg the ahift mgr) is constantly seen out by the front entrance having to have another cigarette…it is just does do anything for the hotel’s “curb appeal.”

The room smelled awful .. like mold! The shower in the bathroom was DISGUSTING. Covered in mildew .. fingerprints all over the fridge so I know it was not wiped down

Numerous fingernail clippings on the floor, fingerprints and handprints on headboard of bed, dirty doors where hands frequent, carpets torn and dirty at elevator and entrance to room, trim on doors not wiped down. The staff was very nice. Karen brought us towels and was extremely nice. The man at the front desk when we checked in was also very nice.

There was a good bit of hair on the bathroom floor and on the shower walls when we checked-in. The shower curtain had a large spot of black mold growing on it. At breakfast the waffle maker ran 2 twice and the waffle was still raw in the middle (even though it said to run it only once). The milk in the fridge at breakfast was frozen.

It had a weird smell, the toilet seat was about to come off, there wasn’t bedding for the pullout couch, the floor was coming up. Service was fine, but the hotel overall was undwrwhelming

Awful mattress ruined our following day, as we got no or maybe an hours sleep. Towels were gym grade. Piece of the baseboard fell off in the hall and scared me half to death walking to the bathroom in the dark. Sometimes you just have to look and see if your rooms are being maintained. They picked up the breakfast at 9:30 am instead of 10. Found someplace good to eat breakfast nearby though. Only spent $40 for breakfast, thanks. Coffee was 3am truckstop blend. Can't understand how this place had good reviews. Just Awful.

We had a corner room which had an alcove off the hallway, providing lots of privacy and quiet. The room included a kitchenette and a table for 4. It would be perfect for an extended stay. The staff was friendly and efficient, recommending a restaurant, providing extra towels, etc. Breakfast was significantly better than the usual buffet. It was a little farther from the university than I thought from the map, and the street had lots of traffic. The hotel itself is a little dated but immaculately maintained.

Spent an unexpected week here visiting my child at University of Alabama and the large suites were modern , clean and perfect! We had everything we needed to “live” here like home away from home! The staff was wonderful. The location is close to the university and all the restaurants . This was our home away from home . Roll Tide !

Checking in went really well, smooth we didn't have any issues. Through the night it was quiet and we didn't have any issues there. In the morning breakfast was very good the staff was friendly and helpful. When we were getting ready in the morning the door was opened by the staff before checkout without a knock on the door which was very unwelcomed. I was in the shower and my child was in the kitchen area and it was disturbing to have someone try to get in our room without even knocking and it was before check out time. I did not appreciate that. There was no apology there was no excuse me it was just an abruption to opening our door to come on in.

The hotel was nice and lived up to its marketing. The University area on McFarland Blvd was noisy with traffic. We were on the street side and the highway noise hindered our sleep. Otherwise, it was fine.

We have stayed at this location a couple of times in the past 4 years that our daughter is at UA. This time was not so great. The exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn't working. There was mold in the shower. On Saturday I asked for clean towels and was told the hotel was full and there were no clean towels to come back at noon. When I went back at 1pm there were still no clean towels. We went down for breakfast on Friday (9:45) yes breakfast ends at 10. But there was nothing. Only juice. And it the food area was filthy. We were supposed to stay another night but asked for a refund and left on Saturday. We always try to stay at a Marriott any time we travel, but will not be going back to this location.

First room we were placed in smelled terrible and carpet was wet. Air apparently not working in that room. Staff was friendly and helpful and quickly changed us to a different room. Differently needs some updates and price not worth it for what is offered. Breakfast there was nothing as was stated that truck was arriving in the afternoon, poor planning on someone’s part.
