We paid for a junior studio with beach which was as described. What was not identified was the music that played till 0500 everyday and that they did not clean the balcony covered poo excreta. No fly screens so mosquitos in room if not wanting to use air conditioning. On requesting a change of room, told music was just the weekend. Untrue. No daybeds around the pool and as the ocean was littered with seaweed this meant walking from beach through dinners to access pool. Staff very pleasant.

Sin duda Ahau es un hotel biodegradable dentro de las hermosas playas de Tulum que por cierto tiene su propia playa y museo. Hotel del famoso Roberto Palazuelos quien lo puedes ver caminando por su hotel y excelente persona!

Our stay at Ahau was absolute perfection. Every member of the staff from the check in desk to the beach waitstaff and housekeeping were incredible. We toured several other hotels and none had the combination of rooms, central location and beach access including a pool that Ahau did. I recommend staying on a top floor if you are in a bungalow to enjoy the thatched roof ceiling. The passion fruit margarita is the best in Tulum and the best restaurants are a short walk away. We will def be back. ❤️

I can honestly can not find anything negative to say about Ahau. It really was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The staff was amazing. The food was amazing, the room was amazing. Entire hotel was amazing. Service was top notch. The ocean was full of sea weed but the hotel was so good at cleaning it up from the beach. These guys work very hard. It takes them hours to clean the sea weed. The concierge was absolutely perfect. They were always in touch with us. Also one thing I liked was we can ask for anything through WhatsApp. Any request any problem. I like that system a lot.

Salieron dos cucarachas, no salía agua con presión en la regadera, un día solo agua fría y al otro solo caliente. El día del check out a las12 en punto nos fueron a tocar a la puerta para que saliéramos. Lo único bueno es el sabor de la comida y la atención de los meseros en restaurant y playa.

Its like a Hostel but they charge like a 5 stars hotel. There was no water in my shower, the room was dirty, in my room there were no black out or courtains in all the windows of the room , so at 7 am the sun was in my face. They don’t have enough bath towels, we were 3 in the suite and they just put 3 bath towels the first day but the other days the put pool towels instead of bath towels because they didn’t have enough. There were singers at the restaurant and music from 9 am, and my room was just next to the restaurant so the music was inside my room. The only thing that its good with this hotel it is the location.

Very dissatisfied with the process of check in and checking out. Checking in was very slow, only one person at the reception desk and a confusion with the unit that I paid. Also, I got overcharge for the room. Overall, the hotel is nice, clean, beach front, walkable to shopping and restaurants. It was our first time to Tulum and it was fun.

Está muy bonito, la comida muy bien, la gente muy amable, el aire acondicionado no muy bien, en la noche tenía calor . El balcón es muy pequeño, no hay espacio para las sillas y entrar a la habitación.

The resort is great for those who really love to live in the jungle. I disliked the humidity in the room which was always at an all time high no matter what we did with the AC. Our room sliding doors when it would rain would leak rain water in the room that didn’t help with the humidity either and made the room smell bad. The facility needs upgrades as you can tell the wood is getting worn out. Food was ok, we ate better at other locations. Location of the hotel is a great one as it’s right next to the statue of the Luz and other great restaurants such as Rosa Negra and Ilios. I would not stay here again due to the rooms needing some serious upgrades to make your stay and sleep more comfortable.

We had the bungalows onto the beach and they were phenomenal. The fruit smoothie place was great, staff really friendly, perfectly positioned Taxis are expensive!

This property is beautiful, the views are breathtaking. We went for our honeymoon. We had our first night there though in a room where the AC stopped working. Along with it being too hot to fall asleep and the loud club music till 1:30am, This made for a terrible day to follow. The staff and manager were kind and accommodating when we had issues and did refund part of our stay and apologized. But our time was short there and we wished we had chose another place in Tulum. This is not a place for people who aren’t wanting to party all night or light sleepers.

It’s a nice property but we never got room key message till after 430pm. Hotel is nice. Bed is comfortable. I would have given it 5/5 but if you want to sleep forget it, loud boom boom music till 3am. Even with plugs in you can hear it. Nearly checked out at 2am as I was going crazy. Did report it. Butt same thing next night. It’s a good Instagram place but shocking if you want sleep.

Brought my wife here for her 40th birthday. It was on her bucket list to visit Tulum. First, it is a king trip from the airport. Once we arrived, noticed that overall Tulum us beautiful. Ahau is a beautiful and unique property. Traditional Mexican architecture combined with modern influences. All rooms are individual bungalows. The problem here is that the a/c is turned off from 9am to 6pm. The last night we had to sleep without a/c because it broke. Informed staff and confirmed by checking the system, but not even issued credit for that night or even a meal. There are mosquitos and bugs everywhere. This hotel is not worth the nightly rate. Restaurant and beach staff is superb!!

Do not stay at Ahau. Apart from good location, there is nothing positive. They have front desk but only from 7am - 10pm and many times there is no one at the front desk. I had to ask the people working at restaurant to find front desk people. No phones in room to reach them, only WhatsApp and half the times they do not respond to your messages on WhatsApp. They take forever to check in. Only one person at front desk and he was attending to another guest so he told me to wait. I waited for 20 mins and when it’s my turn, another guest just walks in and they attend to him, completely ignoring me. Maybe it was due to racism as I am not white and the guest was white but nevertheless, preposterous to say the least. I just walked out to grab lunch. Rooms are rather small and their is always an issue with water. Atleast 3-4 times the water supply was cut off and it took nearly an hour for them to restore. One time I woke up at 6am and no water and obviously you can’t contact front desk as they operate only from 7am - 10pm. They have one tiny pool by the restaurant and that’s it. Food at the restaurant is rather average. Much better hotels available in tulum

Rooms are rather small and their is always an issue with water. Atleast 3-4 times the water supply was cut off and it took nearly an hour for them to restore. One time I woke up at 6am and no water and obviously you can’t contact front desk as they operate only from 7am - 10pm. They have one tiny pool by the restaurant and that’s it. Food at the restaurant is rather average. Much better hotels available in tulum

We were so disappointed about the service. Upon arrival the staff said do you want a welcome drink as he forgot to asked when we reached the office. There was no warmth at all! Air conditioning kept going off and had to keep msgning them to put it on! After cleaning our room there was no fresh towel given to us. On the 4th of july a hurricane was expected. We are pressured to check out at 11am then it came to 10 30 am when they check out was at 12! The staff was sitting in our patio and outside our door being so noisy and disrespectful. On the 3rd of july they said they will send a complimentary bottle of wine which never came for my Husband's birthday celebration. Worst is my card was charged without my consent as they were in a rush to leave! This is unacceptable! STAFF has to be trained to be more respectful and noisy! Food quality isn't Great! On the 3rd morning, staff was making so much noise on top of our villa cleaning up. Very disappointing!

We had a great time at ahau! The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful and the service was top notch. The hotel was centrally located to everything and the staff even helped us book a great Mayan adventure with a tour guide. Highly recommend!

I can honestly can not find anything negative to say about Ahau. It really was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The staff was amazing. The food was amazing, the room was amazing. Entire hotel was amazing. Service was top notch. The ocean was full of sea weed but the hotel was so good at cleaning it up from the beach. These guys work very hard. It takes them hours to clean the sea weed. The concierge was absolutely perfect. They were always in touch with us. Also one thing I liked was we can ask for anything through WhatsApp. Any request any problem. I like that system a lot.

Great place to stay in Tulum if you want to be near Bagatelle and Ilios, Bombonniere, etc. Ahau is close enough to these places you can walk to, but far enough for you not to hear the loud music all night. Truly great!

Everything is almost perfect in this hotel. it's in the middle of the rest&club district. Walking distance to other cool places but at the same time you can not sleep before 2 am because of the noise. Choose quiet rooms when you book.

I felt like I was in nature the entire time. What a beautiful property in a natural setting, complete with sand walkways around the rooms. I felt so at peace here. The ocean was the constancy presence in my six day stay. I’m looking forward to returning soon.

The resort is great for those who really love to live in the jungle. I disliked the humidity in the room which was always at an all time high no matter what we did with the AC. Our room sliding doors when it would rain would leak rain water in the room that didn’t help with the humidity either and made the room smell bad. The facility needs upgrades as you can tell the wood is getting worn out. Food was ok, we ate better at other locations. Location of the hotel is a great one as it’s right next to the statue of the Luz and other great restaurants such as Rosa Negra and Ilios. I would not stay here again due to the rooms needing some serious upgrades to make your stay and sleep more comfortable.

Our stay at Ahau was absolute perfection. Every member of the staff from the check in desk to the beach waitstaff and housekeeping were incredible. We toured several other hotels and none had the combination of rooms, central location and beach access including a pool that Ahau did. I recommend staying on a top floor if you are in a bungalow to enjoy the thatched roof ceiling. The passion fruit margarita is the best in Tulum and the best restaurants are a short walk away. We will def be back. ❤️

We stayed here for 4 nights during my friend's bachelor trip, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the atmosphere. Our group of 10 girls had such a fun and memorable time. The property is beautiful and well-maintained, and every corner feels like a little slice of paradise. One of the highlights was our rooms being right on the beach!!! Waking up to the ocean views every morning was unbeatable, and having easy access to the beach made the entire stay feel extra special. We felt incredibly safe and comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back.

The entire experience at Ahau was amazing. The resort fully embodies the Tulum vibe. We splurged and enjoyed a 2nd floor King Suite with a beautiful beachfront view. The concierge team was immensely helpful in planning and booking excursions. The beach was fantastic aside from the seasonal sargassum. The restaurant food and service were great. Our waiter, Sergio, took great care of us and always greeted us with a warm welcome & smile.
