Motel 6 Fort Mill, SC - Charlotte

Great location! Right near Carowinds and plenty of gas stations and restaurants. You could stay here and walk to several different places to eat. Nice room. Fridge worked great. Pool was nice. 100x better than staying anywhere in Charlotte. Fort Mill spends a lot of money on their police force to keep the area trouble free.

Room floor was sticky throughout, heavy staining on walls. Back door key card didnt work so it was unlocked to the public. Room door card very hard to use (took ~20 tries to read card). In other room smoke alarm went off and nobody responded.

The room was neglected had to change rooms very dirty. Roaches in the bathtub. Elevator felt unsafe.

Much better stay this time away from the ruckess down the hall 3rd floor. Room 311 was nice and clean on arrival. HANNAH ROCKS!!! Just still cant get used to the rationing of bath towels. 3 guests needs 3 towels without having to return 2 to get a 3rd. Lame inconvenient rule. Just keep account per room and charge them if they steal them. Fix 3rd floor ice machine please. Good job overall

It was okay for a night - the room smelled so musky/mildewy it made me nauseous and there were dirty dog paw prints on the sheets. The vending options were good and the on-site laundry was really convenient. There were people fighting next door during the morning so it was kind of loud, but it was quiet at night. The bed was way too soft - just kind of sunk into it so woke up a little sore. Overall it was alright just don't think I'd stay for a long period.

Elevators were not working most of the time, great chance that if you switch from a premium room to standard, you will not receive refund promised for chnge of accomodation, the coffee is right in the front each morning but people are leaning on that table on their phones, the staff is wonderful and friendly and willing to do what they can, check in staff did a wonderful job, she was very friendly and professional

The pool was cool

They had the back door zip tied open because the card scanner did not work, totally unsafe. Very run down and smelled of pet urine and mold in rooms and really badly in the hallway.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I understand it might be cheap but at least go across the street because it is awful. My wife and I booked a 2 bed room because we were going with friends. Our friends canceled last minute but we were going to keep the two beds because it was more space and we already paid. We arrived and we were very disappointed when we saw that it was only the one bed room with no fridge,microwave, and very little space.I went down to the lobby to request a room change and they said that there were no two bed rooms available even though we booked one. we went back up to the room and tried to make the best of it buy unpacking a little but then noticed very large brown stains on the sheets. I walked down there and demanded that they sent someone up to our room with new sheets. The woman told me 1.) that they had no housekeeper and 2.) she didn't have any extra sheets. after arguing she finally gave in and told me she could switch my room. We arrived in the second room and it was a 2 bed room (even though she told me she didn't have any available). The first night was fine but i was just way too tired to notice anything but the second night was awful. I killed at least 8 roaches, they didn't have any replacement towels, and the pool was shut down. Do not book this hotel it’s crawling in bugs,it smells like smoke everywhere including the smoke free rooms, and there are always homeless people outside and in the lobby. The staff are friendly but not helpful at all.

Cheapest hotel in the area so keep your expectations low. There were weird smells throughout the day and sound insulation is poor so you hear everything outside your door, also my door was very difficult to open. There were unidentified red stains on the toilet seat and bathtub,and the morning I left there was a roach in the tub.

No blankets on either bed. Old, lumpy pillows. Mattresses are disgusting. Floor is filthy. Bathroom is gross, not clean, we won't shower here, no way. Bathroom door is rotting on the bottom. Walls are filthy, covered in black handprints & smears. I don't think the remote has ever been wiped, so sticky and nasty. Phone has no wire/plug and is more sticky than the remote. The hallway smells like cat pee. The ac is broke. The overall hotel is just old, dated, unkempt, dirty, stinky & dingy.

Really dirty rooms. Halls smelled like weed and stairwell smell like someone peed in it. Room was full of roaches and very dirty. Absolutely not going back.

This was the dirtiest, smelliest, loudest, run-down hotel I've ever stayed in. The fire alarm went off twice in the night (not shocking considering full-time tenants were smoking inside), people were shouting, playing music late into the night (2am). It was a disaster. There was mold everywhere, the AC smelled, the stairway smelled like urine, there were stains and holes all over the walls, it was a literal nightmare. I would have slept better in a jail cell. 0/10. Too bad, there isn't a lower rating for this cesspool.

Cockroaches in the first room they gave me. Hotel smells bad. 2nd room didn’t have roaches. But still one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Highly recommend looking elsewhere.

The room had roaches and it was filthy

Absolutely disgusting. Found roaches running around. Non-smoke rooms smell just like smoke. Very trashy and not cleaned well. People smoking right as you walk in. We left at 4 am just to get out of that place.

Since the moment I walked in the lobby I was hit with a smell that burned the hairs in my nose. The smell was a combination of urine and chlorine.

Went off of the Google reviews and took a chance - wish I didn't! The good: right off the highway and pet friendly with no pet fee. The bad: the room was so dirty. The walls covered in dirt. Stains all over the towels and sheets. Clumps of black hair all over the bath towels. Hair all over the bathtub. Horrible pillows and one of our two beds was legit broken. Bathroom door was kicked in and poorly repaired. They rent by the week and definitely saw a lot of those people - running around with trash cans full of beer, smoking pot in the hallway and outside. Spend the extra money and stay some place else.

It was pet friendly and there was only one elevator so we had to walk in back door and use the stairs . Once you open the door to stair well it smells like animal urine. The pool was very dirty . No microwaves nor no mini fridges in room . Other than that The service and people were very friendly . We will not be staying at this motel anymore

This place is disgusting and should be closed until an update and good cleaning is done. There is NOTHING in the room, except a double ( which I thought was to be a queen atleast) and a tv. No blankets, no coffee machine, no fridge - nothing. As someone driving through, I really needed to put some snack foods in fridge to keep Cold for night, but nope- not an option. Outside there is sooop much dog poop everywhere and drinks .inside hotel smells of cigarette and maj smoke, cat urine and just filly’s.

The stay was good, the staff was friendly. The only problem I had was the walls were so thin you could hear everything the neighbor was saying. Didn’t get much sleep.

No shower curtain, stains on every towel and on the bed sheets, locks were broken on the door and maybe one of the beds was broken? It was like sunken in...

The tv was on demo mode and couldnt change it. the shower curtain had something dirty on it. had to ask for shampoo, usually provided complementary in the room. they didnt have conditioner. Bed made my back hurt, the window's view was a bush, no bag for dirty clothes. We just used the bag from the trashcan. Our neighbors were yelling, and sounded like a domestic disturbance. The girl at the front desk was helpful but only could do so much.

Motel 6 was an okay place. It was convenient to Carowinds and had a good price for the one night we needed. The staff at the desk, housekeeping, were very nice and welcoming. The room was okay, clean, at least, but the whole 3rd floor had overwelming smell of smoke amd the door handle to our room was broken. The beds definitely need an upgrade. The mattresses are worn and sagging and not a comfortable sleep.

Upon checking in I was given a dirty and uncleaned room. This is the third time that I have checked in here and the room is uncleaned. Cigarettes buts and ashes left. Was given another room and the Water In the shower continues to run when the shower is turned off. Which was aggravating to hear at night. The bed was lumpy and wear out and the ac and heat unit wouldn’t even work I don’t understand why they haven’t gotten rid of the wear out mattresses and The floor was sticky as I walk on them

Convenient to a lot of stores and seamless booking at the front desk. My only complaint was that the beds could be updated in some rooms. They can be a bit sunken in, otherwise overall good experience.

I have stayed here before, I’m 19. Their site says 18+ and I have never had a problem staying here. I was told i couldn’t check in and that i have to contact expedia for a refund. I never stayed here and the hotel manager declined my refund. This is completely unfair when they say check in is 18+

I made the reservation, and when I arrived at the property, the attendant simply told me there was no room available for me. She didn't even try to resolve my issue. She said it was my problem and I should contact Hoteis.com. To make matters worse, she was very rude and turned her back and went to a room where I saw her with the light off, fiddling with her cell phone, pretending she didn't even see me. When I contacted Hoteis.com, the attendant said she would call the hotel. The phone rang several times, and she didn't answer. Luckily, I couldn't find another hotel nearby, otherwise I would have had to sleep on the street. Therefore, never, under any circumstances, book at this location. I'm a Gold member and have stayed at Hotels.com over 100 times in dozens of countries. This was the worst hotel experience of my life.

Worst experience I've ever had with an employee. Took 30 mins just to come to the front desk to tell us they overbooked and she doesn't have any more rooms.

The management at this unit is fantasticthey are very kind Anna is always at front desk and she is so awesome Ralph is another guy just great could go on for hours this place really turned around

Anna at the front desk literally made our stay so perfect.

The front desk guy was very unprofessional and quite rude. We Paid ahead of time and was told at first that they would not let us check in because it was “too late” but we paid ahead of time and they already had us a room assigned he just had to give us the key. The facilities were unkept and the halls/room had a nasty smell. There was trash throughout the halls and you could tell our room floors were not swept. If it wasn’t 3 am and we didn’t need to stop for a few hours we would have gotten a refund and found somewhere else. We will not be returning.

I mean, it’s Motel 6 not the Ritz Carlton you get what you get. Staff was amazing. Manager is great!

I can’t comment on the stay because my confirmed and paid for reservation was not honored when I arrived after a long day of driving to check in. I was told you had no room for me because you overbooked. I was turned away at the front desk with no room, no refund and a “tough beans” attitude from the desk clerk.

arrived at 11:32pm. Front door was open but no one was at the desk. I called, noone answered. No one showed up exactly Midnight when the next shift arrived and gave us our room key.

Location is perfect especially if staying because of going to Carowinds BUT the hotel and room could definitely use some major updates! The elevators for starters felt and looked like something straight off of a horror movie. The Hallway to the room and the room itself had a foul and strong order! I was going to pull the curtain back to look out the window and something dirty was on it so I was like nope pulled it back. Their was a streak of something above the Mirror in front of the beds. What looked like dirt on one of the pillows and a towel that had a stain on it. No mini fridge to keep drinks cold and the ice machine on our floor wasn’t working. The staff seemed real friendly and nice but the hotel itself i fee like could use some major updates and a cleanup!

Close to Carowinds amusement park across the street as a matter of fact. Restaurants, gas stations, snd the interstate. Staff are wonderful and on point

People hanging around outside the property. Cars parked looked abandoned.

I felt a little unsafe here with my children. There were people outside playing loud music. Also the hallways and motel itself appears to need some updating to make look more safe and pleasing. The girl working the front desk was sweet and knowledgeable and was very helpful.

The chic on 2nd shift cool, the rest not so much. Rooms are basically a bed, tv, bathroom, that's it. No pen, no notepad, no bible, dirty ac vents( I took a pic of the filter), broke down cars, no security, no breakfast, only coffee, will be staying at Clarion next time. Great area, close to freeway and food, gas and Carowinds. Not worth the price you pay to stay.

This Motel has roaches in the rooms you cnt eat on the bed or they will come right to your food. It was disgusting. People live in these motels with their pets and the smell is not good. They do not provide lotion you have to purchase everything. And they do not serve breakfast. They serve watered down coffee. Half of the phones or T.v.'s do not work.

This place was worth the money. Super close to Carowinds! Cracker Barrel is nearly in the parking lot. Clean inside. The only thing is they allow dogs and the hallways did smell like a kennel. Did not bother me, but if you were allergic to dogs, it might be an issue? Recommend this place, and I will be back again!
