Amazing stay just missed a gym

Love this property I stay here every time I come to Toronto if it’s available. The only complaint I have is that the front desk never seems to know that they offer “VIP GOLD” to the customers or even what that is. I email them prior to arrival to request either my late check out check in and about the room upgrade. When I arrive the front desk staff has no clue what I’m talking about and it takes time to sort it all out. Should be seamless. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place aside from that. Oh, one more thing they have no elevators so if you have lots of luggage be prepared to lug it up stairs, front desk doesn’t offer to bring it up for you.

A really cute and classy venue. We heard the DJ and music from a wedding while we're staying but it ended early. The rooms are really nice, service great, restaurant classy and delicious. Only downside is there isn't a gym, pool, or sauna. Also there isn't an elevator to take stuff up to your room. Overall, 5/5 stay.

The building and the room were beautiful. The server at breakfast was kind and accommodating. The spa is closed Sunday and holidays which seems odd and was inconvenient because it's the only amenity the hotel has. It may be the age of the building but you can hear quite a bit of noise from the hallway. I was grateful that it was a quiet weekend at the end otherwise it would have been very disruptive. I would return, nice play for a staycation and lots of good food options on the menu and in the area.

Beautiful Old stone building, immaculately updated. Old world charm mixed with modern convenience. Unfortunately, it was the record breaking heat wave in Toronto region during our stay. The room temperature was rather unbearable (28 celsius) and many of the main areas of the hotel were overheated. Air conditioning was either malfunctioning or could not keep up. Our room eventually cooled down only to 27 celsuis so it was a very warm one. Parking is a bit inconvenient (down the hill in the lower lot) but we managed. Beautiful grounds and stunning view of the ravine behind the property. Will absolutely stay again but will ask for a lower level room and check that AC is working.

Room was amazing. Good size with sitting area. Beds were comfortable. Everything was updated. Fireplace was electric but no heater to it. No pool or hot tub to enjoy.

Love the location surrounded by woods. Lots of character and old world charm. No elevator though.

It isn't a a large franchised place, and has a lot of charm which is something I love about it. Frankly, I think we need more places like this. The staff are friendly, the immediate area is quiet and the trail is nice. The rooms are kept clean, and refreshed daily (be sure to put the sign in the door). That said.... There doesn't seem to be much if any soundproofing. From it sounding like guests in the room above are stomping around to doors from other units closing loudly. And if there is an event and you're in a room at that end of the inn, if the group and music is loud, you will definitely hear and feel it. If anyone is outside you can hear their conversations clearly. As for cleaning - It IS good, but could be a bit more thorough. The upholstered chairs are dusty and need to be vacuumed, the towels leave small bits that we had to pick off after our shower. I don't know if they'd been sitting around and were just dusty or if it was the towel fabric itself. The beds are otherwise comforable, albeit soft (and a bit high for shorter people). I cannot speak for their spa or breakfast, but I've had their steak before and it was wonderful! This place is good, but has soo much potential for being exceptional. To the Inn - Please consider ensuring all rooms are thoroughly cleaned/vacuumed at least weekly, especially if they haven't been used; same with linens; and implement soundproofing measures between floors, finding a way to make doors close quietly; perhaps reserve

Most of our towels had hair that wasn't ours, the construction on the street was literally outside our window, and a bug was blocking me from said window when I attempted to close it.

Small pleasant hotel very clean.

We had a great stay at the Glenerin. We booked 1 bedroom with a King bed - the mattress and pillows were heavenly, the towels are thick and the entire place was spotless and super clean! thank you to the team!

The room was dirty, the floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned, the bathroom floor had different types of hair everywhere, the a/c didn’t work (it was 40 degrees with the humidity that day), there was a random hair between the sheets and cover and the cherry on top, when inspecting the corner of mattress with a light, there was in fact a bug crawling around. Maybe it wasn’t a bed bug but we weren’t willing to risk it. We were offered a new sheet or to speak to Expedia/his manager in the morning for a refund because we were checking in so late.

This was a lovely place to stay. It was spotless, every corner was cleaned, no dust anywhere. The staff was very helpful. The restaurant was very nice and the service was top notch. I highly recommend this inn. 10/10

A little bit more attention to cobwebs and guest hairs would be appreciated. Comfortable bed easy parking.

Wouldn’t recommend, stayed in our room and there was a used condom stuck under the bed tried to get in contact with the manager and still cannot. Only positive is the bed was comfortable

The room was small; light showed around the door from the hallway right into my face in bed; bathroom door did not open fully affecting use of the sink(always had to close the door to use the sink); only one chair. - not worth the price you paid

Overall the hotel was very nice however the room was very small.

A beautiful inn…our room was very small with dormer style ceiling and only inches on each side of the bed making access quite difficult especially for seniors.

The room I stayed in had damaged door and lose shower bar.

Good hotel, but our room had no space. King bed took up almost all the room. With TV on the wall, the space around the foot of the bed was less than 12 inches. On the side near with the fridge the space was probably 18 inches wide. No reading lamp on that side of the bed. Wife asleep so I couldn’t read when I woke up at 6am. Also TV didn’t work and thermostat to hard for me to figure out. Took 2 calls to reception to get someone to come and resolve the problems staff couldn’t figure out thermostats which showed 78F (C in Canada) so we slept with the window partially open (minus 12C outside). So good hotel but some serious issues.

The property is gorgeous and historic. The rooms are well appointed and make you feel treated. The staff seem very friendly and quick to help. The grounds are gorgeous and there are lovely walking trails. A note to other guests - there seems to be no elevator to the second floor. I have two complaints: There was NO TEA BAGS in the room; only 2 coffee pods. The other complaint was that sleeping was difficult as the room was ENORMOUSLY LOUD. I was up late trying to figure out what machinery (furnace, air, a/c) was creating a resonating drone in the wall. I had to put in earbuds and try to sleep. Next time I'd request a different room.

Walls and ceiling too thin. We heard phone conversations from the room across the hall and every foot step from the people upstairs (day and night).

The room was quite spacious, very comfortable large bed, with a nice modern bathroom (lots of counter space, lovely shower). TV set up was great, was easily able to chrome cast our music and movies. The one issue we had was that the hallways are small so anytime someone was outside we could hear them and probably vice versa but overall we felt it didnt take away from how nice of a stay it was. Would stay here again for sure, great value.

Front desk and manager very rude. Also this hotel does a lot of events so not the relaxing vibe that is advertised.

Very rustic old hotel with many upgrades and renovations. I found the front desk staff to be rather 'snooty' ...on the side of arrogant. ie., when I arrived ( after a 5 hour drive) I approached receptionist and asked if there was a possibility of an early check-in ( it was approx 1:00pm, with a stated 3:00pm check-in). I was very sternly advised ( with a loud voice) that I was 'way' early ( duh ! ) . When I did return ( approx 3:30pm) I was advised the room was ready. I was then asked for a credit card ( I assumed for holding purposes) Instead, the cost of the room was charged directly to the card at that time ( typically paid in full upon check out ). I won't return to this location.

We've stayed here multiple times and enjoyed every visit. Staff is warm and accommodating. Kudos to Norman, David, Svetlana, and Victoria. We will see you all again soon. Thank you!

One of the most poor hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. My flight was late and when I got there to check in the door to the hotel was locked and they had cancelled my reservation - even though on the booking it says you can check in at anytime. Finally got checked in. The next day I went to the restaurant for dinner, but there was a private party so I was unable to eat at the restaurant. Just wanted a glass of wine and dinner. Told to do room service, then had to order a bottle of wine that I didn’t want because they wouldn’t let me order a glass. Dinner was cold, and flavorless. My last night the heat stopped working, but you can’t tell anyone because there’s no one around at night. Also not safe at all. You can walk up to the rooms from the main doors without having to go through any kind of lobby or anything or use a key card, so anyone can just walk in through the hotel rooms. Went to check out today and was just paying for the dining charge and the person at the front desk was trying to record my debit card numbers. Just absolutely one of the most amateur operations I’ve been to in a long time. Would not go back and would not recommend.

Quiet and clean Great check in

We arrived and rooms were not ready for check in time. We ended up being put in 3 different rooms by the time we got a room as they were not cleaned. Found someone else’s brush in our room and none of the doors locked from the inside. We stayed there as we had a wedding that night and wanted to get ready there. We were stressed out as we had very little time to get ready by the time we actually got into a room, which was way past check in time. Overall they just seemed very unorganized and unprepared which was very sad as this looked like such a nice place and we paid a pretty penny for one night. We were never even offered a discount for everything we had to go through. We stayed with two other couples who had the same issues and had to be put in multiple different rooms before they were actually ready and cleaned. Very disappointed. Have never had an experience like this at a hotel.

The hotel offered a boutique vibe close to shopping and was a great distance between Niagara Falls and Toronto.

For the price, the room was excellent and an easy walk to University of Toronto Mississauga campus. My only complaint would be breakfast. It was slow to order and expensive for what I received. Apart from that, great place.

Beautifully situated in the heart of Mississauga and yet seconds away from a woodsy trail. The rooms were beautifully updated and the bed was very comfortable. Would recommend.

This is a beautiful and historic building in the middle of Mississauga. The bed was very comfortable, and I enjoyed the architecture. Nestled in a wooded lot, it is a restful escape from city bustle. Those with mobility issues should beware that there appears to be no elevator to the 2nd floor.

Amazing property next to the Erindale park. The room was beautifully decorated and very quiet. The continental breakfast is an excellent start to your day.

We like the unique setting, the historic stone buildings and that it's not a cookie-cutter hotel full of kids hockey teams and dozens of noisy families. It feels very premium without costing a premium price. And while the location is extremely central it's set amongst valleys and trees so you feel you get away from the GTA traffic. Our #1 choice when in Toronto!

This is a beautiful property located just outside the woods. It looks like a resort. There are many places to eat. Not too far from here and Toronto is about 30 minutes away.

We had a poor stay and wouldn’t stay here again. The location isn’t close to anything and the amenities at the hotel are almost zero. I booked the luxury suite, and there was nothing luxury about it. The toiletries are average. There was one coffee pod offered in the coffee station and two small water bottles. Not even tea. The duvet was dirty and kept slipping out of the cover, I woke up with it touching my face and was so grossed out. It was covered in makeup and I was not wearing makeup so it wasn’t from us. The beautiful photos of restaurants and patio are all for show. You can’t actually get service there. I was looking forward to having breakfast in the dining room with nature view, but the only dining room available for service was a cafeteria looking room with no view of anything. There was no free continental breakfast so I don’t know why it’s advertised with this stay. The luxury room is in broad view of people walking by on the path so you can’t have your blinds open. Noise was so loud, you could hear people walking above. Staff shouting instructions to each other at 7am outside our room and banging of equipment and doors. Then they had the audacity to call our room at 10:30pm with a noise complaint when my spouse and I were just talking to one another at a normal volume. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone even if the location is convenient to your event. Oh at 9pm, we went to the lounge for a cocktail and there was not a single restaurant or bar open.

We liked the ambiance of the hotel - we wish there would have been somewhere to have a drink and a light bite to eat in the evening (in a bar/lounge or restaurant) vs. having to order room service.

The bed was glorious! Dinner dining was worthy of another visit: the service attentive and the food imaginative and excellent. We were disappointed that there was no complimentary breakfast offerings — not even fresh brewed coffee. The Keurig coffee provided in the room didn’t do justice to the ambience of the room and the property.

Felt like I was in the Country- but 40 mins from home! Great food.

The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and stocked with coffee, tea and water. I loved the real drinking glasses and porcelain mugs! We had a smaller sized room but it was fine for our short stay. Continental breakfast was included. The fresh fruit salad, yogurt, croissants, muffins and coffee were all delicious. We dined at the restaurant and had two excellent meals. All the staff were extremely professional and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Glenerin Inn and Spa. There are several trails within walking distance from the hotel.

Restaurant was hosting events both days so wasn’t able to eat at the property, which was unfortunate. But beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and updated.

We booked reservations for 6pm in the restaurant. Where exactly is this restaurant? We were greeted as though we should not have been there. The waiter was extremely unhelpful, sarcastic and unaccomodating. We asked if we could sit outside, to which he said yes but then we weren’t given any direction. We were uncomfortably trying to find our way to the patio to which then we accidentally opened the door to the wedding reception room!! Once we found our way outside, the waiter did not guide us anywhere. When asked is that the table, he says,“ that’s a table.” And before we knew it, two of the four chairs at that table were taken by another guest. So I guess we can’t sit outside. Sheer confusion on the lack of organization. It felt like a patio for smokers rather than a place for $50 main course dining. The tables weren’t even dressed for guests. For a boutique establishment that requires reservations, I would imagine there to be a proper hostess and there be more space to dine. Instead we were in a sunroom which could only fit four tables. We didn’t even stay past ordering water. Everything felt off. Sorry but this was very disappointing.
