Hotel Metropolis

Good location close to Vatican and metro station. High price - not worth for the money. No WiFi - don’t go there if you need it. During rain it does not work - I stayed 3 nights, no internet in the whole building during the whole time and stuff did not help and did not bother to resolve the situation or provide updates. Shower is good, room is small and just one chair for the room for 2 people.

Viajo mucho y cuelgo mis opiniones en esta página. Este no es un hotel de 4 estrellas, ni por las instalaciones, desayunos, servicio, etc. (por ejemplo, la puerta de la entrada está siempre cerrada, dicen que por seguridad, ufff). Y, por la tanto, la relación calidad/precio no es correcta. Además, a pesar de haberlo solicitado, no pudimos hablar con la Dirección del Hotel, excepto el último de los 5 días (4 noches), en el que por casualidad descubrimos que la persona que hablaba con nosotros porque daba la casualidad que pasaba por recepción, sin identificarse como tal, era la Responsable de Marketing, que evidentemente no hizo ningún caso a nuestras quejas y nos comentó, ya que la solicitamos, que en Italia los hoteles no tienen hoja de reclamaciones. Además, este hotel se ofertaba en Hoteles.com diciendo que disponía de aparcamiento en las instalaciones y la realidad es que nunca han tenido aparcamiento en sus instalaciones, según nos dijeron es un error de Hoteles.com y que lo que aparece en la web es aparcar en la calle, cosa dificilísima, y el aparcamiento externo, que mencionan en el catálogo de servicios del hotel, es muchísimo más caro (dicen que se olvidaron de modificar el catálogo de las habitaciones). En fin mejor no ir a este tipo de establecimientos gestionados tan mal. Ver fotos de lo que digo.

Pontos positivos: pessoal atencioso, bom café da manhã e limpeza dos quartos. Ponto negativo: apesar de estar bem próximo da estação de metrô (lepanto), não há bons restaurantes e comércio tão próximos. Longe para ir a pé e perto para ir de táxi. Pontos de melhoria: o chuveiro é bem fraco e o bar/restaurante sem boas opções no menu.

Ci aspettavamo una struttura a 4 stelle, ma in realtà è un 3 stelle "adattato". La camera molto piccola. Se si pensa che in una matrimoniale ci vadano almeno due persone occorre prevedere gli spazi per due valige, un armadio per due persone, due poggia valige o comunque degli spazi adeguati. Oltre che piccoli, gli arredi sono di bassa qualità. Nessun comodino, sostituito da una mensola. In pratica per spostarci dentro la stanza abbiamo rischiato diverse volte di cadere. Il bagno funzionava bene, ma era scarsamente illuminato, compreso lo specchio del lavabo, Il lavabo stesso minuscolo e lo spazio per poggiare le proprie cose assolutamente insufficiente per due persone. I componenti del bagno di qualità scadente e le pareti scure aumentavano la fatica della bassa illuminazione. Buono il servizio dell'acqua e dell'aria condizionata. Non ci sono servizi bar se non si soggiorna con colazione inclusa (da 15 euro), nè distributori di acqua e/o bibite. Non era chiaro se si poteva pranzare/cenare, nè il costo, e infatti la sala era sempre vuota. Nessuno spazio ricreativo. Insomma per il costo di un quattro stelle ci si aspetta, e si pretende, di più, anche perchè la posizione è buona, con la metro e le linee autobus vicine.

Ingleizmente não tivemos uma.boa experiência. Ficamos os 3 dias hospedados e nosso frigobar não funcionava e esse é um item essencial em nossa escolha de hotel. Prometeram arrumar e não conseguiram. Sugerimos trocar de quarto mas não concordaram. Quando pedíamos agua no quarto pagávamos 15 euros só pelo serviço de quarto. Decepcionante. O café da manhã é muito muito básico apesar do esforço da única atendente em preparar coisas extras pra nos atender melhor. O box do banheiro é bastante apertado mas o chuveiro era muito bom. Não tem restaurante no hotel apesar do anúncio dizer que tem e quando questionamos nos informaram que fecharam após a pandemia. A localização até que é proxima de outros restaurantes mas não fica muito próximo e nenhum ponto turístico (Vaticano está a 23 minutos de caminhada). A maioria dos recepcionistas foram simpáticos tentando melhorar nossa experiência mas o problema é que pagamos por um hotel 4 estrelas e recebemos um hotel 2 estrelas em termos de estrutura. Acho que tem melhores opções de custo-benefício na cidade.

Wouldn’t say it’s a 4* by UK standards, but a good 3*. Food and bar a little strange, so make sure you research where your options are. This isn’t a tourist area so you have to walk a little to find hustle and bustle. But it’s nice a quiet, has very good transport connections. 4 of the staff we interacted with were excellent, 1 wasn’t great, dismissive and wasted a lot of time checking us in that didn’t need to happen just to serve his ego in our opinion. But that being said the other staff in the reception and breakfast area were really excellent. Breakfast was basic for €15 each, continental, in the area you can find a lot more for your money. Great location if you are here to go to a game at the Olympic stadium. 30 minute walk there and around 20 to the Vatican. Little Further into central Rome, but the Metro is easy to navigate and very cheap. All in all, I would stay there again for the price if I was going to the stadium again, but otherwise I wouldn’t. All a bit tired and no atmosphere.

Catered to Business clients. Treated Expedia clients poorly. We arrived an hour before check in. Told our room was not ready yet the guy in front of us was given early access. Woman at front desk was very rude to us but not to others who seemed to be traveling for business. We were not. Maybe they paid more for their room? Three people were waited on before us. All got rooms on higher level. We got 1st floor noisy room with a glass bathroom door that did not close all the way. Had to push a towel under it to keep it closed. Chipped floor tile in bathroom. I covered it with a towel. Floor was sticky but they did give us slippers. Bed made noise when getting in and out. Restaurant only open for breakfast yet they advertise all day. Breakfast was $15 per person. You can walk a block and get breakfast for $8 per person. No coffee pot in room (only upper level rooms had them). I brought my own instant Decaf coffee but no way to get hot water. The lobby is very small and is laid out weird. You have to walk down a ramp to get to the seating area. Very small room with water stains and flaking rotted wood on the bathroom wall and by the night stand. We picked this hotel because it was relatively close to the Vatican. The picture online is what you see when you walk in. But once you look closer... surprise.

We Stayed in a superior room, the location was very good and close to tram and Metro, the reception staff were excellent and very polite and supportive, also the breakfast that was good and the staff in the dining room were all very friendly, the neighbourhood of the hotel was good and safe, the cleanliness of the room was good, the tub and the shower was a bit old and needs renovation

Very clean and nice

The hotel was a nice stay and the receptionist was very helpful in guiding us on where to visit Rome's landmarks on a map. One thing I will mention is when the cleaner cleaned the room after we had gone out for the day, when we came back she had done everything apart from leaving us any body wash which was odd as she had given us 6 bottles of shampoo instead?? so I had to go down to reception and get some more body wash from the room but apart from that the hotel was fine.

When we first arrived, our room smelled of sewer, so we changed rooms. Unfortunately, we did not realize until the next morning that the shower did not drain properly. The a/c in the room also did not work, as it would trip every 30 seconds when we turned it on. Despite all the problems we had with the room, the staff was extremely friendly, the location was walkable, and it was quiet at night.

Stanza grande e letto abbastanza comodo, Bagno: vasca sporca e soffione che non si manteneva sull'apposito supporto. TV scollegata dal satellitare e senza possibilità di utilizzare apps come ad esempio netflix. Prezzo della colazione (15 euro a persona) esagerato per quanto offerto.

We enjoyed our stay at the Metropolis. The staff was welcoming and very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very modern and clean. We were able to walk alot of places, with the Vatican being about a 30 minute walk.

Room was decent, but we noticed lighting was a bit poor and the cleanliness of the room and tub was average. Hot tub had some dirt debris coming out from the jets and made us not want to use it at all. AC took awhile to cool the room too. Breakfast dining was great and so was the front desk service. Overall was okay but expected better for a 4 star hotel.

It was definitely not a 4 stars hotel and not worth the money Pros: staff are quite nice and try to help Cons: the hotell is quite old and not fresh at all. We received 2 key cards for the room but only one worked. The reception tried to fix the problem several times but after a while one of the cards stops working. When we came in to our room it wasn't cleaned well, dust and nail clips everywhere on the floor. There were dead bugs as well. The shower was leaking and they have dusty and oil stained fabric wallpaper on all walls which was quite disgusting. The AC blows directly onto the beds which wasn't so nice and the beds we're that comfy either. On the 3rd day we found another bug again. I talked to the reception and they agreed to move us to another room but only after trying to convince us that that was normal. To be fair the other room was a bit better, but it was too late, the whole stay has already distured our mood. The rooms aren't isolated so you could hear whatever is happening in the hotell and the bed headboard will vibrate if someone is moving a furniture. Also we noticed that they have lights on the doors that turn on when you're in the room and off when you're gone which I don't find so safe. The location of the hotel is not so nice either. The Streets are not clean and the garage to park the car is quite creepy, you have to leave your keys so they can move the car if needed. I'ld never stay at this hotel again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Na primeira de quatro noites, o ar condicionado não funcionou e não havia como trocar de quarto. Era um quarto de frente e havia muito barulho de trânsito. No segundo dia, fomos mudados para um quarto de fundos, com ar condicionado funcionando e sem barulho. As condições de limpeza e aspecto do hotel são muito bons. É muito próximo do metrô. Gostamos da zona.

Fint værelse men aircondition duede ikke og der var 35 grader i Rom den weekend 🙄🙄 Vi fik personalet op på værelset, men de kunne ikke fikse det!! Vi bestilte ikke morgenmad, men området så også forfærdeligt kedeligt ud.

Hotellet er absolut i orden men dog et stykke fra de fire stjerner efter nordisk standard. Rent og pænt, god seng, venligt og professionelt personale. God, varieret og rigelig morgenmad. Helt igennem i orden. Perfekt beliggenhed i et tilsyneladende roligt kvarter og i gåafstand til alt. Men: Nabobygningen er et gymnasium, i hvis skolegård unge mennesker spiller så høj musik om natten, at det er umuligt at sove i de af hotellets værelser, der vender væk fra gaden. Natten mellem søndag og mandag sluttede musikken kl. 03, og den følgende nat blev der slukket kl. 03.30. Receptionisten havde angiveligt natten til tirsdag kontaktet politiet første gang kl. 23.30, men den slags opgaver er åbenbart ikke noget, politiet i Rom prioriterer ret højt. Det er naturligvis komplet umuligt at drive et hotel med sådan en nabo, som ikke sikrer sine porte om natten, og det er virkelig synd for Hotel Metropolis. Som gæst er den slags bare fuldstændig uacceptabelt, og det er med stor beklagelse, at hotellet derfor ikke kan anbefales pga. støjgener, som hotellet ikke har nogen indflydelse på. Kun døve eller meget tunghøre mennesker ville kunne sove i den larm, som faktisk ødelagde en lille miniferie i Rom d. 8.-11. november 2025.

Front desk staff friendly and easy access to public transportation. TV channel has no English, only Italian language.

The hotel is at a convenient location to visit many attractions. It is close to metro and bus stations. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this hotel for business, the hotel itself is nice and comfortable. Before I got to the hotel I needed assistance, I had sent two emails and I didn’t get any help, so I called and the person I spoke to told me I was asking too many questions and they didn’t want my business. This totally spoiled my trip. For a hotel based around customer care this hotel is terrible. If I could score a negative 5 stars, I would.

Staff forced my guests to sit in lobby while checking in and preparing for excursion. Do not to be babysat when paying for premium hotel. Poor English skills at lobby. Strange over-perfumed smells in room, like covering up a smell.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is well worth the price. And the location is perfect for getting around the city. This was my third or fourth stay and I will be back.

A wonderful hotel that is in a quiet part of Rome yet one block from a subway stop. Great local restaurants to walk to. Also can walk to Vatican.

Great location in the heart of Rome. Walkable distance to St. Peter Square (15min). Close to Lepanto Metro Station. 10-15 minutes tax/Uber drive to Termini (Rome Train Station.

Hotel très bien. situé non loin du métro c'est un vrai plus ! Le petit déjeuner est très correcte. Le personnels superbe. La chambre était très bien avec une pression d'eau de la douche irréprochable.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilft schnell falls etwas nicht in Ordnung ist. Das Frühstück ist für italienische Verhältnisse sehr gut. Gekochte Eier oder auf Anfrage auch Rühreier oder Omelette, Schinken, Käse, Tomaten, Salat, verschiedene vorgeschnittene Früchte (Ananas, Kiwis, Melonen usw) und natürlich den italienischen süßen Part. Ich konnte mich richtig satt essen obwohl ich mich glutenfrei ernähren muss. Alle Kaffee Varianten oder Tee werden frisch an der Bar zubereitet und zur Tisch gebracht. Ich habe einmal den Wecker nicht gehört und kam um 10:05 zum Frühstück. Es war kein Problem und ich wurde gefragt ob ich noch etwas bräuchte bevor weggeräumt wurde. Die Strasse vor dem Hotel ist eine Hauptstraße und sehr laut. Wer mit offenen Fenstern schläft, braucht Stöpsel aber dann besser sich von der Rezeption wecken lassen: das Telefon klingelt schön laut :-) Vom Hotel aus ist man schnell zu den vatikanischen Museen, Petersdom, Engelsburg oder zum Zentrum. Alles gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Sonst halten auch viele Busse vor dem Hotel. Das Bett war nicht zu weich und nicht zu hart. Alles sehr sauber. Die Bäder sind renovierungsbedürftig aber sauber. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.
