The hotel is nice and staff very attentive through WhatsApp even before and after our stay. The rooftop that they advertise is very small not lounge chairs only tables that you as guest can not use unless you have a reservation as everyone else. We we’re excited to have a rooftop but at the end couldn’t enjoy as guests only in the morning for breakfast which was average as well, not the kind you expect for what you’re paying. Rooms are quite small. The location is ok but not as convenient is quite far for the nice areas like Spanish steps and peatonal areas with shopping you have to walk there at least 30 minutes one way… we really thought it was more central the location at least for what almost many tourists want in Rome.

This property was really great. Rooms were clean, modern, and spacious. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because (1) walls are thin (2) elevator was incredibly slow. I would consider staying here again — the rooftop bar/restaurant was nice

Hôtel très bien situé, à proximité immédiate d'un arrêt de bus et de la station de taxi. Le personnel est au top, nous avons été très bien accueilli. Le MASA sur le roof top est aussi excellent, parfait pour boire un verre avec une vue magnifique mais également pour dîner. En hiver, des bulles chauffées permettent de profiter pleinement de la terrasse. Nous recommandons chaleureusement cet hôtel.

Beautiful hotel! The room was perfect and very comfortable. I loved the neighborhood of Monti and proximity to the train. The rooftop bar sounded really fun but we didn’t go. If you want to go to bed early I suggest earplugs, they have live music and what sounds like a fantastic time on the roof

Our family has stayed with this hotel multiple times and it feels like there has been an ownership or management change. One of the worst stays. Elevator was out of service on arrival. Staff was uncaring and not helpful. Left us on our own to carry all our luggage up the stairs to our room. No help at all. In fact staff found it entertaining and funny ! Breakfast was horrible. We prepaid for it and when we let them know it was disappointing and poor quality, they wouldn’t let us cancel. We were forced to continue to pay for it even though we would not be eating. Staff at every level was not helpful at all. From assisting with transportation, to shopping and food, just terrible attitude. Sad to see this happening to The Major.

The property is beautiful and when you walk in, the lobby smells amazing. When you get into your room, it smells like sewer. When you scan your key to open your door, it makes a very loud noise. You can hear each person going in and out of their room. My toilet made a noise every 10 minutes. I would not stay here.

Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Great location for sight seeing and enjoying a beautiful city. Would definitely stay again.

Walkable to many attractions and Roma Termini, the main train station. Nice rooftop restaurant although pricey. Room was small with no place to sit other than the bed. Nice bathroom. Courteous staff. I'd skip the breakfast buffet as better and less expensive options are plentiful.

Room was clean, comfortable and all we needed for our last night in Italy. Bathroom was tight between the toilet and sink but the shower was large with great pressure and lots of hot water. AC worked well, and bed was comfy. Easy walk to Termini. Staff were pleasant, welcoming and efficient. Breakfast was ok - wouldn’t pay an up charge but if included in the rate it is reasonable.

Close to Roma Termini train station which was nice. The room was very spacious but definitely needed some paint and care around the hotel. Nice layout with a separate dressing area. Bed was comfortable and staff were attentive. Our room was on the fourth floor and the terrace restaurant was on the fifth so nights we had to go to sleep early it was noisy. Other than that it was a good hotel.

We stayed at The Major in Rome and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel felt fresh, modern, and spotlessly clean. It’s in a fantastic location - close to all the main sights, shops, and restaurants, which made exploring super easy. Our room faced the road, so there was a bit of noise at times, but nothing unexpected for such a central spot. Overall, a great base for a trip to Rome!

I found it difficult to find a suitable hotel in Rome city centre. The Major hotel located in great location, we could walk to the most of city attractions. It is also near Rome main statio, Termini. Rooms were really clean and good size very comfortable. The only issue we had was at the first night. Our room was right below rooftop restaurant. It was far too noisy. We moved to a quiter room next morning.

Very clean and nice. The shower wasn’t the best (very difficult to regulate temperature with low water pressure), but definitely not something too much of an issue. The location is perfect and the rooms are spacious. If we come back we will definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel, we booked deluxe room which was really spacious and nice. Hotel staff is really good (everyone really), location is good and connected, close to colosseum and other places too, definitely a hotel I would go again to.

I have only good things to say about this hotel. The staff were fabulous- very helpful and welcoming. When we were checking in, they noticed it was my fiancé’s birthday (from checking his passport) and sent a bottle of champagne to our room! The room was comfortable and the bathroom was bigger than expected. Would stay again!

The location is very good in that it’s close to the train station (in and out from the airport), in front of Santa Maria Maggiore and minutes from the colosseu/forum. Good breakfast, clean roomsz. The front desk staff has a detached attitude —don’t expect a warm Mediterranean welcome.

Was told by front desk breakfast was included then told by breakfast staff it was not and we had to pay 25 euro each. Was embarrassed so didn’t return for breakfast. Found out after four days we had already paid for it. We should have gone back to front desk ASAP. They offered an apology.

The hotel is in a very good location a few minutes walk from the Termini railway and bus stations and conveniently located for most of the major sites of Rome, particularly Santa Maria Maggiore. There are many restaurants and bars in the area. The staff in the hotel were very smart, friendly and helpful; they used WhatsApp to communicate with us before and during our stay, and Stefano on reception made sure to ask us at the beginning and near the end of our stay if everything was satisfactory with the room. When we asked for an electric kettle, one was put into the room by the time we returned. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. I only have two minor niggles: the lift was slow, so we could wait a while on it; and the rooftop bar was festooned with lights, so at night it was very difficult to see out. These are very minor issues, and I would happily stay at Hotel Major again.

When we asked for an electric kettle, one was put into the room by the time we returned. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. I only have two minor niggles: the lift was slow, so we could wait a while on it; and the rooftop bar was festooned with lights, so at night it was very difficult to see out. These are very minor issues, and I would happily stay at Hotel Major again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Major. The hotel was close and walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do in Rome. The room was fantastic, had a breathtaking view of St. Mary Basilica and the staff were beyond excellent. Luigi in the front helped with our check in and check out and getting our transportation scheduled to the airport on departure day. Would 10/10 recommend this property. Every day we came back, our room was cleaned and refreshed.

Our family has stayed with this hotel multiple times and it feels like there has been an ownership or management change. One of the worst stays. Elevator was out of service on arrival. Staff was uncaring and not helpful. Left us on our own to carry all our luggage up the stairs to our room. No help at all. In fact staff found it entertaining and funny ! Breakfast was horrible. We prepaid for it and when we let them know it was disappointing and poor quality, they wouldn’t let us cancel. We were forced to continue to pay for it even though we would not be eating. Staff at every level was not helpful at all. From assisting with transportation, to shopping and food, just terrible attitude. Sad to see this happening to The Major.

Love the area and the service was wonderful. From the moment they had someone pick us up from the airport to our departure we felt well taken care of. They even gave us a bottle of champagne for our honeymoon.

The hotel is nice and staff very attentive through WhatsApp even before and after our stay. The rooftop that they advertise is very small not lounge chairs only tables that you as guest can not use unless you have a reservation as everyone else. We we’re excited to have a rooftop but at the end couldn’t enjoy as guests only in the morning for breakfast which was average as well, not the kind you expect for what you’re paying. Rooms are quite small. The location is ok but not as convenient is quite far for the nice areas like Spanish steps and peatonal areas with shopping you have to walk there at least 30 minutes one way… we really thought it was more central the location at least for what almost many tourists want in Rome.

Very nice location easy to walk to major sites such as the Coliseum and Trevi Fountain. Breakfast foods, options, quality were all excellent. Staff were all friendly and nice. Room was clean and spacious. Enjoyed our stay immensely.

My Stay at the Major Exceeded my expectations. The location is near a transportation hub that allows easy access to all trains, buses and is less than a block from a taxi stand. Restaurants and Iconic Landmarks are within walking distance. and arranging transfer to and from the airport is a breeze. Their Driver Miguel is the best! The Rooftop Restaurant is amazing; breakfast and dinner is top notch. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I will stay at The Major again and recommend it to everyone.

Very nice hotel near Termini station and Basilica Maria Maggiore. Very nice staff that had left me a handwritten message on my bed. Free slippers. Clean hotel. Wonderful buffet breakfast. I was happy to see it was not only Italian sweet breakfast but a good mixture of everything. Eggs, bacon, fruit, yoghurt, juice, tomatoes, cucumbers, lots of mozzarella, sandwich, a few Italien dishes with aubergine and squash. There must be somthing for everyone. You get 1 cup of coffee and then you have to ask if you want more. That was perhaps the only minus about breakfast. But no problem if you asked. Got a message on my phone from the hotel on the 2nd to last day asking me if i needed anything. Transfer to airport etc. Very nice. Nice rooftop where breakfast was served. A lot of people used the rooftop restaurant in the evening. I never used it in the evening as i thought the prices for drinks was a little high for me. I did not have a feeling you could sit there without buying anything since it was a restaurant. But lovely hotel, nice room and nice staff.

Clean and modern rooms, lovely breakfast, beautiful view from the roof terrace. Very friendly staff. Only complaint was the bar music, which was quite loud after 10pm. We were on the 4th floor right next to the stairs, so it may have been quieter in other rooms. I would stay here again.

Overall stay was fine. There was nothing that stood out service wise. At check-in I asked about any additional benefits/upgrades for membership status and was told that they don’t honor it for silver members, even though my reservation confirmation said there would be. Not the end of the world - we had an enjoyable weekend in Rome and even went up to their rooftop bar twice. Appreciated the drink menu and breakdown of composition of each drink. Room was nice and air conditioned. In our opinion the breakfast was not worth it (cold/limited options). We ended up going to a restaurant a few minutes walk from the hotel instead.

The breakfast on the rooftop was very nice with a beautiful view! The room was cozy but the AC did not cool the room, so be prepared if visiting in summer. Hotel staff was very accommodating in keeping our luggage before we checked in and allowed us a 30min late check out as well. Great location with the Colosseo being a 15min walk and very close to main bus stops.
