When I tried to check in and select a room, the receptionist informed me that their card reader was broken. Despite having a $100 bill in my hand, he refused my payment, claiming they didn’t have change. He instructed me to go out and withdraw Egyptian bills from an ATM nearby to complete the transaction. My experience at this hotel was very disappointing and definitely not worth the $90 per night I paid. The photos online look nothing like the reality. When I arrived, they tried to give me a room far below the category I had booked. After I complained, they moved me to a slightly better room, but it still did not match the advertised photos at all. The breakfast was average and not a buffet. It wasn’t a proper continental breakfast either, the staff chose the items and portions for you. The elevator was unreliable and sometimes not working. The safe in the room was broken, wouldn’t open, and even had no batteries. Hot water also took a long time to come through. Overall, the stay was not encouraging and did not match the value for money. I would not recommend this hotel.

Loud street noise into the early hours of the morning very audible from the room. Located on a narrow back street making uber or taxi access difficult. The rooms themselves are very basic, with a patchwork of repairs. Staff are very helpful. Booked based on the higher reviews which are misleading.

The air conditioning was excellent. Breakfast was OK, uninteresting breakfast room. All the staff were great, very responsive and kind. The reception staff and security guy were very helpful and approachable. The bathroom - the shower sliding door leaked badly onto the floor as it didn't go down far enough, we had to resort to mopping up with towels as it was always after-hours. The wardrobe & hangers were very dusty so we didn't use it. The lift was very dirty as were the stair wells - fortunately the lift worked so did not affect us. The floors were very clean in our room and outside. We didn't get the room we had booked. Nothing like the photo! Overall the location was good and we felt safe

This is an excellent hotel in the middle of origional cairo. Buildings in this area are quite old and sometimes nasty. This is not the case here. The building was remodelled nicely, and the facilities are quite good. One has to manage expectations here because this is a historic area of the city and the buildings typically lack what you might expect in newely built hotels. This building probably was built in the 1800s. Location is wonderful. Off of a main street which gives the rooms quitness and ability to rest at night. Im writing this review after my fourth stay at the hotel over a period of 5 years. The quality of the services qnd rooms stayed the same. Good overall without issues. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Accomodating for all your requests. Their airport transport is very reliable. Highly recomend Valencia to anybodybvisiting cairo for whatever purpose.

The hotel itself seems jammed into a very crowded part of Cairo. Our Uber driver had a hard time finding it, and then getting to it, because of the narrow lanes with cars parked on both sides. The main street nearby is very lively and bright, though, with nice stores, and good restaurants. The hotel is walking distance to Tahrir square and the Egyptian Museum. The room we had was TINY, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good. I would say, do not use their car service to the Cairo airport - we were quoted USD $30 by the hotel, whereas, we were able to hire an Uber for just around $5 for the same trip!

This is not real hotel where you get the whole building with rooms, it is partial floors in existing building, location wise probably one of the best and perfect for sleeping only. The property is in a shopping district in Cairo, however, it is difficult for uber drivers to find the property so you have to walk out to the main shopping area road to get uber. There were a few times the elevator did not work and the stairway is very dirty. They need to keep the stairway clean - it was like being in the ghetto. The staff however was very helpful and pleasant and it was much appreciated.

The photos on Hotels.com are not photos from the Valencia Hotel. The photos on Trip Adviser ARE the ones of this hotel and are accurate. The man at the front desk was not welcoming or easy to work with. The room was old and while clean, had years of old dirt and a leak in the shower that caused the bathroom floor to flood with every shower. They only give you one towel per person and a floor towel that we had to wring out after every shower. The location was good and within walking distance to a lot of things and restaurants.

We had arranged an airport schedule which did not meet us at the airport. We had to take a cab and when we got to the hotel and saw the state of the rooms and the condition of the hotel we refused to stay. We had to get another taxi to take us to a different hotel. The rooms where filthy, the pictures on the hotels.com website are not of the hotel. When we notified hotels.com of the condition of the hotel they contacted the hotel about a refund, but we did not receive one. I would never advise anyone to stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights on our tale end of our Cairo trip. I don’t know where they got the pictures on their site from but our room looked absolutely nothing like this. They make it come across like it’s somewhat modern, but this is far from modern. And zero hot water during our stay.

The hotel and rooms do not look anything like the pictures! We asked for the best rooms in the hotel and they were still terrible. This hotel should not be allowed to post fake pictures and mislead the guests. I have no idea how they have so many review and 3 stars. We confronted about the pictures to the Manager which seem to not care that we were in shock.

Valencia was fine. The room was clean and somewhat comfortable. No major amenities but the continental breakfast was nice, tea kettle in the room and the rooms were clean. My big issue is that the photo being used to represent the property and what i expected my room to look like was extremely inaccurate. Felt like another bait and switch.

The pictures on hotels.com did not resemble the room at all. The room was uncomfortable, lift was faulty, cigarette burns in the sheets, and worst was the balcony door did not close/lock properly feeling like a security concern. Do not stay at this hotel. It was terrible. We booked for this hotel well in advance for two people. Check In Time is 2 pm and we arrived at night (around 9 pm). When we arrived, we were told that the room was not ready and it would not be ready for another 2-3 hours. How can a room be not available well after check in time. In the meantime, they gave us a tiny single room (there were two of us with six luggages). We were tired. By the time, 3 hours passed, the room still was not ready and we were constantly told, it will be ready in 15 minutes, minutes passed into hours. We final got the room around 2 pm. I have never experienced anything like this before. Stay away from this hotel is what I can say. Not only did they not give us our room, there was no indication of any kind of compensation and they charged us $10USD more for the shuttle bus back to the hotel when we checked. Speechless!!!

In the meantime I checked the Expedia listing as this wasn’t aligned to our expectations based on ratings - lo and behold we found lots of duplicate reviews but with different names. Utter scam. We immediately left for a reputable establishment- avoid this hotel.

Upon check in to my 'duluxe' double I was told there was a maintenance issue with my room and I would have to stay in an economy single for the night. The hotel refused to refund the money and only charge me for the economy single. I can only describe this as criminal. Do not expect the rooms to reflect the photos. It was very expensive for what it was, on top of the robbery. Highly recommended staying elsewhere.

The hotel itself seems jammed into a very crowded part of Cairo. Our Uber driver had a hard time finding it, and then getting to it, because of the narrow lanes with cars parked on both sides. The main street nearby is very lively and bright, though, with nice stores, and good restaurants. The hotel is walking distance to Tahrir square and the Egyptian Museum. The room we had was TINY, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good. I would say, do not use their car service to the Cairo airport - we were quoted USD $30 by the hotel, whereas, we were able to hire an Uber for just around $5 for the same trip!
