Madison Manor Boutique Hotel

Muito bem localizado,muito bonito e confortável, porém em termos de atendimento ao cliente,deixa a desejar. Nada funciona antes das 11 da manhã, nem depois das 17h. Quem precisar fazer check-in e / ou check-out fora desses horários, na dependência dos seus voos,passa por apuros.Não existe qualquer informação dentro do quarto quanto a numeros de telefones ou ramais. Se precisar de uma emergência a noite...esqueca!s.Se seu cartão descarregar( como é frequente acontecer) fora desses horários...vai ficar do lado de fora!No mey caso,com -9 de temperatura e nevando.Reservei hotel com cafe da manhã, e me informaram que nunca servem café da manhã incluso. Vc tem que esperar o restaurante abrir as 11 ,e pagar pelo café. Não tem frigobar no quarto.. enfim,nunca mais!!!

Property has character- not like a lot of corporate clones that are so prevalent these days. Slightly quirky in that check-in is at the pub next door and sometimes you have to call a manager. Pub is a hangout for students and can be lively- this may not suit everyone but I thought it gave a nice atmosphere. Staff are very friendly.

I had a great night’s sleep. Good location near Uof T and Bloor Street. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was perfectly organized. I was safe and cozy. I found my room on the third floor a bit tiring to access. The first or second floors would have been ideal as there is no elevator. Apart from that it was fine for my one night stay.

Small old red brick mansion with lovely heritage building character. Great location. Felt safe for two women as there are sorority houses along the same street. The nearby bars are very loud into the night. We stayed for a concert so were out late ourselves, but you will hear a DJ and bar-goers well until 5 am on the weekend. Parked in Green P lot 231 for about $20 for 24 hours which was very convenient. I would stay here again if budget and location were my priorities for a concert or party weekend, but not an ideal place for a restful vacation or business.

The bed was very comfortable. There were four minor issues: 1) Front desk is staffed only 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. This was mildly inconvenient for my checkin (added a kilometer detour to arrive at the hotel before dinner), but they allowed me to leave keys in the room for checkout, so that was fine. 2) The outlet for the desk was difficult to access. 3) There was a pair of 3-prong outlets for the coffee and tea pots. Only one of the outlets worked; again a minor inconvenience. 4) The toilet seat would not stay in the raised position unsupported. The room was fairly quiet, although I was aware of the pub entrance two meters from my door.

Quirky old buildings incorporating hotel rooms and pub with multiple levels. Not suited to older travelers as no lifts and very much a student and sports bar set up. Food available until 1.30am. Convenient for a multitude of nearby eateries to suit every taste. Billy Bishop Airport only 15 minutes, around $20 cab ride.

The central location is great. This vintage property could use an entire deep clean ... corners, baseboards, behind furniture, etc. Also, finding a person to do your check-in, in a separate building, can have you climbing and descending a flight of stairs with your luggage.

Beautiful old house in the Annex. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Great location near Spadina subway station. Lots to see and do via TTC, or just walking either direction along Bloor St. Parking behind very reasonably priced. Check-in time is limited, we had to change plans to be able to check in.

The Madison Manor isn't fancy, but it's a perfectly serviceable place to stay (during the week, at least). The price for its central location is great, and check in is simple if you're arriving between 3 and 10. There's no on-site parking, but there's a Green P lot beside the subway station nearby.

What a wonderful place to stay in. Remember as the info says NO elevators as the hotel is akin a beautiful old house.

The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offered free wi-fi. There was a pub next door. The Royal Ontario Museum was four blocks away.

Lovely boutique hotel, spotless room.

I like to to stay at privately or small business owned hotels. I wish I could say it was excellent. I take that it’s an old historic structure but the room was rather dirty. Furnitures were dusty and dirty. Towels had stains. These things don’t take a lot of effort to make a difference. Staff were friendly and polite. It wasn’t noise despite being next to a pub. Bed was on a hard side but it was’t too big of a problem for me. Could drop “Boutique.”

Clean bathroom and sheets

We chose this place because we like to try quirky places. This is an old building, so as expected things aren’t always super modern or work as they should. We stayed in rm. 304. It was hot while we were there, no windows open but air was pretty good and the room had a ceiling fan. Bathroom is small and unfortunatel lots of hair in it, which tells me it wasn’t cleaned.

I came home with terrible rash and 47 bed bug bites .had. Lovely trip to the doctors office .

I had bedbugs in my room. Counted 30 in the one night. I did not sleep.

Our room was clean and quite nice but it had a smell of mildew

Great rooms for the price! Comfortable bed, and the location of the hotel was very convenient. The only downsides were the lack of appliances such as a fridge to store water (or even a courtesy bottled one), as well as the bathroom not being throughly cleaned for our stay, I encountered multiple hairs in the shower upon my arrival, as well as the toilet paper being already half used. Aside from that it was a great stay and I would return!

We expected something totally different form what we got! First of all the area is not that close to downtown, and is under construction all over, lots of traffic, the check in is in the next building not in the hotel, the house is nice, like old times. We had BED BUGS :( so sorry to have to put it in the review, although they discounted the first night, but was very very unpleasant experience!!! Couldn’t sleep at all the first night, but what do you do in the middle of the night? They changed us rooms of course, but had to waste all of our morning for that inconvenience, repack our stuff , wait for next room etc, the place looks ok but the carpets all over including the rooms look very dirty, they need to replace them with floors that you can clean properly. I didn’t want to walk in the room without shoes on. Staff did their best to make up for what happened and we appreciate it. But we will not stay here again. We’re sure they will fix their issues soon because they took inmediate care of the situation, but is something we can not ignore, we’re travelers for long long time and it’s the first time something like that happens to us in Canada. PLEASE PUT PROPER PILLOWS IN THE ROOMS!!!! Only two little old flat pillows for a King bed, not worth it of a “Boutique Hotel”!!!

Air conditioning was disfunctional and the weather was very humid.

This is a pleasant and somewhat quirky hotel. The building is an old stately manor tucked into one of the more pleasant urban neighborhoods in Toronto. Our Jr. Suite was spacious, and very comfortable. But if you're seeking amenities and five star service, look elsewhere. This is mainly a cozy affordable, character-rich place. Best part is that it's two doors down from one of the most iconic pubs in Toronto ... the Madison! We really enjoyed our stay.

I picked the location due to its easy accessibility to public transit (TTC) and the University of Toronto. I.e., I cannot comment about parking! I was in one of their suites which was extremely comfortable. The hotel is next door to a pub and on the same block as several fraternities and so there could be an issue with noise for some people. I sleep like a proverbial rock and so it did not bother me.

The room was small and had no fridge or microwave. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I appreciated the ability to keep the fan on for white noise. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

No fridge or coffee service in the room, no access to front desk before 9 a.m., no hot water all day Saturday, burnt out lightbulbs in room, really sluggish wifi when it worked, etc. This place has to decide whether it's a youth hostel and then lower the prices to reflect that, or it has to bring it's service level up to that of a budget hotel and then charge the prices it currently charges. Will not be staying there again.

Room was beautiful, my only complaint is there was no mini fridge.

The heating in our room was not sufficient.

Beautiful building in a very cool little part of town. I found the check in process quite confusing as reception is in a completely different building to the rooms. The room was VERY small - there wasn't even enough floor space to open my suitcase - and there was no fridge. However it was fine for us as it was only for a transit night. If staying longer I would definitely book a larger room in one of the upstairs floors (level one is pretty much underground).

- change the carpets…. They were disgusting - answer the phone when a guest is trying to get a hold of you - put at least 2 more coffee pods in the room - it’s not just a pub restaurant next door….. it’s a full on night club! ….. that wasn’t in any info I read…. I guess we got what we paid for….. maybe!

Homely and comfortable. Nobody at the front desk, either to check in or out; awkward. Lots of noise at night.

Had a Tuesday night stay. The service was fantastic. The room was very nice. Had everything I needed. FYI, there are a lot of stairs at this property, as with most century old Victorian homes.

There was no one around when we arrived and had to run around the property's bar next door to find someone to check us in. The girl was very nice and helpful when she arrived. The rooms are small and the rugs are not in good shape. The beds were clean and comfortable and the washroom was recently renovated. I have been going to the Madison for over 20 years and I have noticed in the last few years it is getting a bit run down. But, it is a good price and a convenient area with TTC transport right next door. The next morning there was no one there again to check out so we had to leave the keys. They called later in the day to say they had made an error in our final bill and needed to put through more on our card. All in all it was an OK experience.

First, I inquired whether there was an elevator and response was no, then was told only one flight of stairs and access to my room was four flights. I have knee problems and carrying luggage over all that was extremely difficult. The TV did not work and the tea kettle was broken. I tried to call from my room to the front desk and their was no answer (it was not late) only about 8 PM or so. Location is fantastic and the rooms were fairly nice and I am glad they stuck to the old style (it is a brownstone afterall).

Very clear check in directions and super personable staff.

First of all no one ever answers the phone at this hotel. The room that was assigned at check in was immediately next to a very loud pub with a live band. Between the noise of the band and after hours revellers no sleep was possible. Would definitely not recommend, in fact would strongly suggest staying somewhere else.

This is a great property for anyone looking for a fast and convenient stay. Easy check in, and while the bar next door is bumping at night, this place is perfect for anyone who is a city dweller. I was visiting from NYC, and the staff also included ear plugs in my unit. The only thing that brought me slight concern was while the whole unit was clean and well prepped, the mattresses did not have covers that repel bed bugs. I checked the corners of my mattress when I arrived (everything was super clean), but that little touch would be a massive lift to this convenient space. Would recommend!

Excellent location to University of Toronto at an amazing price. Great experience amd will stay again.

Excellent location to access two metro lines to the airport and downtown. Walking distance to the ROM. Walking to restaurants nearby and grocery store nearby

I was pleasantry surprised by the quality of this boutique hotel. It is adjacent to a popular university pub. Very convenient to hop on tjr TTC. Very nice walking in that area! Lots of sites.

Close to U of T and museums.

Cozy lovely room and friendly good staffs. They welcomed warmly. Location is also good.

I was most pleased with my choice of hotel as it was quirky, quaint and quiet I missed a refrigerator however readily available ice was a passable substitute Love ly friendly, helpful staff Having meals and drinks at the adjoining pub was most convenient Public transport near by was fabulous so easy to explore Toronto

Classic building. Very nicely kept up. Lots and lots of charm! My Room was a little tight, but ill chalk that up to being standard at the time it was built, there are larger rooms.The pub attached to it is classic too. Awesome place to eat and grab a drink. Its very popular at night with the local college kids. But it was not a problem at all.

Restaurant was dirty

Great...easy in/out. Excellent pub food!

Some of the furniture is old, and very cool. Some of its old and held together with duct tape haha! The pub is fantastic, as are all of the staff, servers, and desk help. The metro stop is just west of the pub parking lot. Once we figured out the subway we were set! Every uber trip was super fast.

Charming little hotel, front desk very friendly and helpful with app for the parking lot behind the hotel, great location, only minutes to the sky dome with the subway. The pub next door was perfect for a lat night drink. I would definitely stay here again.

The Madison is an old house, converted. Our room was not ready when we arrived. We were offered a free drink at the bar upstairs. We ordered a drink and Nachos, which ended up being complimentary due to the delay. The room was what we had expected, simple. We would stay there again as very convenient. Thank goodness it was a Wednesday evening so the bar was quiet. Otherwise I believe it would be quite noisy on a weekend as a University bar.

The property does advertise the fact it is adjacent to a pub and restaurant under their name which was fine. I would always expect music to stop at midnight. However on our last night music was playing very loudly until around 4am and there was a lot of shouting, screaming and foul language in the early hours keeping us awake. This is totally unacceptable and inconsiderate. It also stated breakfast could be obtained in the restaurant but this was not served until 11am. The location of the property is ideal but I would not recommend it to anyone.

the attached pub/restaurant is convenient for a late arrival. Room 201 is considered one of the best rooms and was very clean and comfortable.

Beautiful old Victorian mansion turned hotel. Has its quirks, and i like that. Our room had a little balcony to enjoy our dinner and coffee in the morning. The area is a bit rowdy on the weekends, as it's beside a pub.
