Tesouro da Baixa by Shiadu

We stayed at Tesouro da Baixa for three nights as a couple. While the location is excellent, our experience was unfortunately affected by a serious hygiene issue: we found a cockroach in our bathroom on the first night (see photo). We immediately informed the staff, who responded promptly and removed the insect. As the hotel was fully booked in our room category, a room change was not possible. However, an upgrade appeared to be available, but was not offered. We were informed that no decision could be made at that time, as the responsible manager was not present during the night shift. What was more disappointing was the management’s handling of the situation afterwards. Despite clear photographic evidence and confirmation from the staff on site, the hotel questioned the incident and refused to offer a reasonable compensation. At this price point, we expect both a clean, pest-free environment and professional handling of such issues. While we understand that incidents can occur, the lack of appropriate service recovery was disappointing. Due to this experience, we cannot recommend this hotel.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food.

We had a fabulous stay! Everything was exactly as it appears in the photos. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was attentive and helpful. Location made it easy to get around.
