This was the second year we stayed at Sure Stay by Spanish Springs. We don’t rent a car or golf cart and find that it’s an easy walk to the square and fun to walk by the lake to see the ducks or watch remote-controlled sail or speedboats on the water. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was substantial with hot sausage and eggs, bagels, English muffins, mini muffins, oranges, boxed cereals, but no variety in the hot breakfast items. Chili’s is right next door. The pool was functioning this time, but full of tree droppings (that time of year). I still swam in it but I would recommend a net-type covering to prevent some of that debris from entering the pool.

The staff was friendly and professional. We were booked on the top floor (floor 3) after getting bags out of car headed to elevator to find out they were all out of service. Ran up to room before lugging everything up stairs to make sure all was good, the room door was wide open. Went to office 15 minutes after check in and checked out.

The pool was a mess. Besides dirty the pavers around the pool were sinking. Very dangerous. The landscaping left a lot to be desired. Dead leaves and mulch were everywhere.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. Offered private balcony for each room which was a wonderful bonus. Great location and quiet. Pool was very small which was the only downfall to property. Multiple fountains offered a nice view and lots of table / chairs with umbrellas to use on patio. Highly recommend.

Nasty Carpet and dirty floors. Took shower and walked to bed and feet felt dirty and stepped back into shower and black imprints on wet shower just stepped out of was showing on floor of the shower. Disgusting. Breakfast had watered down orange juice, and got coffee and it tasted like coffee and hot chocolate watered down. For 4 people,? Only provided 3 towels. Changed rooms and then had to get them as tv showed no connection. They had to come back with other remotes to try to get tv to work. Lady at desk was very unpleasant to deal with. She just says she wears shower shoes at hotels. I have never had this issue and I’ve been in many hotels in my life. Do not recommend!!! Bathtub was very slippery and a fall hazard in our first room. Many nasty stains on carpets too.

Shower floor had hair all over it, tv cabinet had something sticky on it, remote control was sticky. Obviously the maid is only cleaning things that visually look dirty and not cleaning all surfaces. Breakfast was a joke, probably one of worst ever, missing food not replaced and garbage overflowing.

I can't believe this hotel has such great reviews. This is only the second negative review I have ever left but this hotel cost $150. The volume did not work on the TV control. There was no shower gel in the bathroom. The phone did not work so I couldn't call them and tell them I had to walk down there and the last straw was the German roaches crawling around on the night table

It wasn’t clean even though the room I had smells so strong of bleach I couldn’t breathe. I had to open the front door and the patio door to air out the place. There was water/melted ice still in my ice bucket. The floor was so sticky it was like walking on fly paper. Fortunately, the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the linens hadn’t been changed… there was evidence of someone being in that bed that couldn’t have been there IF the bed was changed. I can’t, and wouldn’t, recommend this property. It’s a shame they don’t keep it clean. It COULD BE a wonderful place to stay, if it were actually clean.

Avoid at all costs. Spiders and cobwebs in my room. Room full of dust nothing was clean. Stayed with a big group and they all experienced similar problems. Roaches, pee stained carpet and ants not to mention the old pepporoni found in one persons room.

I am sharing a mixed review. The rooms, we had two, were exceptionally clean. Staff was friendly. Easy check-in. The negative is that there's no sound-proofing between rooms. I could hear the gentleman next door sneezing, blowing his nose and even most of the morning conversation. Luckily, they went to sleep when I did and woke up around the same time. The second room smelled like weed.

AC did not work properly both nights, even though we had told the staff that it wasn’t cooling. We were sweating all night and the first room we got the door handle was broken. TV didn’t work. The second room we got into it smelled was not that clean, and apparently there were people smoking in the hallway and I don’t mean cigarettes.

Spotty, slow internet. When toilets in other rooms flushed water backed up in our toilet. After storm second floor passageway covered in water for a full day. Very slippery. Water even seeped into room and had to put bathtowels on floor to mop up. Breakfast so, so. Eggs, etc, precooked off site and just reheated. Day receptionist was just great. Very helpful. Night receptionist very unhelpful.

The hotel itself was very nice. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The problem was the temperature. I like to have it cool when I sleep or really any time. I was literally sweating even when sitting still. I believe the problem is that the curtains, when closed, block the AC. Well no one wants to leave their curtains open 24/7 on order for that to not be an issue. The staff was very nice and friendly. If the room works have gotten cooler, I definitely would have given it 5 stars. Maybe I'll try it again some time. Maybe not. Just depends on if I find a good rate. For almost $100 for a weeknight it would have been great to be comfortable.

We had an issue with a broken door lock and the night clerk couldn’t help and wasn’t able to get anyone to fix it. The door wouldn’t lock and wouldn’t offer any small discount to us. The following morning the manager wasn’t going to offer any discount for the lack of security the previous night. The hotel wasn’t very impressive.

We needed new towels and the lady at the desk said to put ours outside the door and the cleaning person would leave new ones. It was 6pm. What she didn’t seem to understand is we needed them right then. She literally would not give us any. My husband saw another lady working and ask her if he could possibly get two towels. She opened a closet door and handed them to him. I don’t understand why this was so difficult. She literally would not give them to my husband.

Based on my experience 'there's a lot to be desired ' no room service after eight 'meaning there wasn't adequate linens 'the microwave oven didn't work and the front desk clerk stated that there wasn't any maintenance person on duty after 8pm' this is unacceptable 'period.

When we opened the door to our room it was spotless but had a strong cleaning smell that irritated my nose. When I mentioned this to Bethany at the desk she was happy to switch our room and even helped us. The housekeeping team had used a new product that day and we all felt it was too strong a scent. The staff at this hotel couldn’t be nicer and more accommodating.

Great spot! Close to the Square and lots of dining/entertainment options. We stayed one night and everything was clean and fresh. Perfect location and priced reasonably. We parked and didn’t drive again until we went home. Everything was within a mile. The band at the Square was top notch Saturday the 26th.
