Grand old hotel, nice large rooms, well renovated. No pool, nowhere to sit and sun lounge outside. You need to walk to Oceanside « clubs » to pay for a lounge chair and umbrella. No beaches nearby. We took hotel’s half-board, food quality was fair to mediocre. Many choices, but bland, tasteless. Expensive parking and wine list.

Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Es gibt ein paar Dinge, die ich extra erwähnen möchte. Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Das Frühstück ist bombastisch. Schade, dass man nicht so viel essen kann, wie man möchte. Das Personal beim Frühstück war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Hotel ist bereits etwas älter, was man hier und da auch merkt. Defekte Fenster, fleckiger Teppich etc. Im Bad gibt es keinen extra Rasierspiegel und kein Licht von vorne, was einem das Rasieren und wahrscheinlich auch das Schminken etwas schwer macht. Dieses Hotel hat so viel Platz. Unverständlich, dass man die Rezeption so sehr in eine Nische quetscht. Man hat dort eher das Gefühl bei einem windigen Autoverkäufer gelandet zu sein, als in einem 4-Sterne-Hotel. Das lag auch an der leicht pampigen Art des Empfangspersonals. Es gibt einen hoteleigenen Parkplatz, der 25 Euro pro Nacht kostet. Dieser kann auch noch nach dem Auschecken weiter benutzt werden.

Spa war sehr sauber und hatte praktische Öffnungszeiten. Frühstück war top! Das Haus innen schon etwas renovierungsbedürftig, aber charmant. Zimmer war aber in Ordndnung. Das Parken ist in Opatija leider ein Problem.

Loved our stay at this beautiful heritage hotel. The room was large with a balcony overlooking the main road and ocean. Beautiful furnishings. Breakfast was spectacular. Parking was 25 euros a day and not close by. Recommend eating at Lumber restaurant about 5 / 10 min walk away.

Das Hotel hat uns sehr positiv überrascht. Preis/Leistung war wirklich top. Das Zimmer (wir waren direkt unterm Dach) war sehr geräumig und in einem super Zustand. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und für den Parkplatz eingewiesen. Es gibt zwei Hoteleigene Parkplätze mit Schotter und Schranke. Gegen eine Gebühr kann man diese nutzen und in der Regel in Opatija alles zu Fuß erledigen. Auf der anderen Straßenseite ist direkt ein Supermarkt um Snacks zu kaufen. Der Strand ist fußläufig eine Minute weg und dort kann man Liegen und einen Schirm für ca.25€/ Tag mieten. Aus unserer Sicht völlig ok. Das Frühstück ist toll, es gibt alles was das Herz begehrt, reichlich toppings für Müsli und co. Frische Eier gebraten, Rührei etc. Kuchen, Pancakes und so weiter. Das Personal ist durchwegs freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt ein kleines Fitnessstudio im Untergeschoss neben dem Spa. Super ausgestattet mit Matrix Geräten und Klimaanlage. Zudem ein Wasserspender mit gekühltem Wasser und einen Fernsehr. Auch das Spa sieht toll aus. Wir kommen wieder - tolles Hotel!

Wonderful service and a beautiful hotel! The spa was relaxing, the views were incredible, and the staff were so kind and attentive. For my husband’s birthday, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne and cake in our room, which made our stay even more special. We truly loved our time at the Imperial.

This grand old lady sits in an ideal part of town. Her walls i am sure could tell many a tale. Ours was that we had a great stay. The room was spotless, modern and comfy. Meals are served in what i suspect is the original ballroom. Faded grandeur applies here. Some of the other public areas are showing some age. Breakfast was amazing. We also had the evening buffet that was very good and exceptional value. Everyone we met from the staff was helpful and cheerful. Couldn't ask for anything more apart from perhaps a pool which it doesn't have.

Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is not well taken care off; pity as it is has beautiful interiors. Breakfast and dinner average. The worse, no parking place available in the property as it was full. We got a parking place 300 meters away, next day my car was full of wax from a tree; have to pay 380 eur to take it off.

The status that this place once seems to have had is literally crumbling if you look closer at the state of things. It’s the same as the surroundings, something that has once been grand and luxury is not that anymore. We enjoyed our stay even though there was a big sewer smell in the room. Time to modernize and leave the old “chique” behind.

Frühstück war gut, Halbpension nicht empfehlenswert, würden wir nicht wieder buchen, da keine gute Qualität. Zimmer groß, Badezimmer sehr beengt, Schrank zum Hängen kaum nutzbar, da zu schmal. Schöne Terrasse, sehr freundliches Personal, insgesamt ist die Substanz des Hotels doch etwas heruntergekommen.

I didn't get to stay very long, but the hotel was really lovely. The room was spacious and clean and the rest of the hotel was very grand. The staff was super helpful during check-in and directed me to better parking options upon arrival. Wish I had more time but had a great experience!

Frühstück war top, Abendessen war etwas schwach. Im zimmer keine neuen Badetücher gehabt, und die zimmer nr 511 und 512 hatten ein seltsamen geruch den man nicht einordnen konnte, aber nur dort hat es so gerochen. Meiner meinung sollten diese zimmer nicht vermietet werden. Personal freundlich und nett. Umgebung war sehr gut, parkplatz Gebühren übertrieben, sollte gratis sein.

The Great. We stayed one night and even though the property is huge and used to be beautiful the room was dirty. Breakfast is amazing with so many different options to choose from and it takes place in a beautiful dinning salon. The chef even prepared some gluten free cakes for us. The Good. The room and bathroom was huge so we had a lot of space. The hotel es great situated just a 2 minute walk to the sea and right beside a supermarket, stores and restaurants. The Bad. Our room was dirty. Even the spoon and glasses were dirty. You can see the opulence in the hotel but how it is decaying. The smell at the entrance and lobby is really overpowering.

The only two good things were location and breakfast. Don’t plan on using WiFi it’s literally non existent in the entire building. We had 3 rooms and couldn’t get signal anywhere! The A/C in our room only worked if I called the front desk, nor could I change the temperature without calling them, super inconvenient. Also be sure to bring your own toiletries for the shower, theirs are below average. Staff were nice people but unfortunately didn’t make up for all the inconveniences.

We loved the history of the hotel and the room was lovely with very high ceilings. The bed was also super comfortable. The included buffet breakfast was exceptional - there was so much choice and it set us up for the rest of the day. We were also able to get parking for our rental car at €25 per night. The hotel is also close to everything in Opatija…. so very convenient. We loved this place.

We really enjoyed our last minute stay at the Imperial as it was our plan to make it to Rijeka but it was a very dark and eainy night. Our attic room was a huge surprise and was spacious and cozy. I really liked the breakfast and dinner, there has been a variety of food and a great selection. The team was really nice and helpful. We had some problems with the air conditioning, unfortunately it did not work and was not fixed during our stay. But it was not that important for our stay, it was not that hot that we needed it. We had a lovely stay and can recommend the Hotel. We definitely want to come back.

Bit of a disappointment on multiple fronts; Firstly the day before we arrived I noticed a fare drop of $100 for our exact same room. I contacted Expedia who tried to get the hotel to respect the rate, but they claimed no one was there to do so, so upon arrival I asked them to lower the rate. Danja at the front desk was not very welcoming nor friendly which is a shame. She asked her manager Luca and he gave us a quick no without any real consideration. He could have easily offered us some cocktails or treats but chose to simply not do the right thing. This hotel was once clearly a beauty but sadly is pretty rundown (broken windows, chipped paint, streaks on walls, exterior damage/not clean) and in need of some TLC. The location is great, parking a huge hassle, breakfast buffet pretty good.

Parking was big hassle behind the hotel with very hilly street. 13 EUROS per day and staff will not help to take your luggage to the reception you have to climb the steps to go up and no bell boy or any help. Breakfast was ok not great for the price but location is good. Room was very smelly I asked to do something but nothing was done and room number 511 no windows only sun shades

I didn't get to stay very long, but the hotel was really lovely. The room was spacious and clean and the rest of the hotel was very grand. The staff was super helpful during check-in and directed me to better parking options upon arrival. Wish I had more time but had a great experience!

Wonderful service and a beautiful hotel! The spa was relaxing, the views were incredible, and the staff were so kind and attentive. For my husband’s birthday, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne and cake in our room, which made our stay even more special. We truly loved our time at the Imperial.

We loved the history of the hotel and the room was lovely with very high ceilings. The bed was also super comfortable. The included buffet breakfast was exceptional - there was so much choice and it set us up for the rest of the day. We were also able to get parking for our rental car at €25 per night. The hotel is also close to everything in Opatija…. so very convenient. We loved this place.

Das Hotel hat uns sehr positiv überrascht. Preis/Leistung war wirklich top. Das Zimmer (wir waren direkt unterm Dach) war sehr geräumig und in einem super Zustand. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und für den Parkplatz eingewiesen. Es gibt zwei Hoteleigene Parkplätze mit Schotter und Schranke. Gegen eine Gebühr kann man diese nutzen und in der Regel in Opatija alles zu Fuß erledigen. Auf der anderen Straßenseite ist direkt ein Supermarkt um Snacks zu kaufen. Der Strand ist fußläufig eine Minute weg und dort kann man Liegen und einen Schirm für ca.25€/ Tag mieten. Aus unserer Sicht völlig ok. Das Frühstück ist toll, es gibt alles was das Herz begehrt, reichlich toppings für Müsli und co. Frische Eier gebraten, Rührei etc. Kuchen, Pancakes und so weiter. Das Personal ist durchwegs freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt ein kleines Fitnessstudio im Untergeschoss neben dem Spa. Super ausgestattet mit Matrix Geräten und Klimaanlage. Zudem ein Wasserspender mit gekühltem Wasser und einen Fernsehr. Auch das Spa sieht toll aus. Wir kommen wieder - tolles Hotel!

Frühstück war gut, Halbpension nicht empfehlenswert, würden wir nicht wieder buchen, da keine gute Qualität. Zimmer groß, Badezimmer sehr beengt, Schrank zum Hängen kaum nutzbar, da zu schmal. Schöne Terrasse, sehr freundliches Personal, insgesamt ist die Substanz des Hotels doch etwas heruntergekommen.

Im zimmer keine neuen Badetücher gehabt, und die zimmer nr 511 und 512 hatten ein seltsamen geruch den man nicht einordnen konnte, aber nur dort hat es so gerochen. Meiner meinung sollten diese zimmer nicht vermietet werden. Personal freundlich und nett. Umgebung war sehr gut, parkplatz Gebühren übertrieben, sollte gratis sein.

The greatest value for money hotel I have ever experienced in Europe! Outstanding. Just the breakfast alone is worth the entry fee. Fantastic example of what hospitality is at its best. Bravo. Looking so forward to coming back!
