Beautifully terraced property with stunning views of the lake. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore to find a peaceful place to relax in the gardens. The staff was helpful, and the restaurant was good and offered enough variety for my 3 day stay.

First of all, the property itself is gorgeous! Pictures don't do it justice... a wonderful place to come for at least 2 days...pure Magic! I want to specifically mention Jared Ramos, he stood out amongst the rest of the staff and lit up the restaurant with his bright smile and wonderful hospitality. The economy room (I stayed in 9) was stuffy rustic and never cooled off enough for me to sleep comfortably, I should have booked an upgraded room with a private bathroom. Food & drink were great with large servings; the best cacao I've ever had. Don't order the burger, there are much better options such as the eggplant parmesan, breakfast burrito (enormous), etc. There are purified water stations. You can pay 50Q to spend the day here without staying overnight. There is an extra fee to book the hot tub. Lake water is swimmable and clear on this part of the lake, although I wish they had a pool. Loved the hammocks. I would come back in a heartbeat! You need to beware that you need to be able to climb hundreds of stairs to have this amazing experience.

This place was incredible. We absolutely loved the three days we spent there. We all had so much fun. The food was good but it adds up fast with drinks here and then. We spent well over a $1000 dollars in three days and The drinks are pretty water down so maybe bring a bottle with you if you want a buzz. That was the most we spent in any of our stays in Guatemala. The stairs were fine but it's a lot if you're not in shape. I saw some people struggling. But it was worth it and part of the adventure. We went swimming a lot because the water was beautiful! Also, we slept like babies every night because without fail, it rained at night and it was lovely enjoying a hot chocolate hearing the rain. The beds were not comfortable but it was fine because we were always so tired and happy to be there we still slept well. The staff was super nice and attentive. Tip is included just fyi. We will 100% come back specifically to this place when we return to Guatemala. 10/10 recommend. The drive was nice. We drove ourselves and the roads were good. Parking was easy and our car was safe. The boat people charged us an extra Q10 per person because our luggage was heavy he said. But we knew he was trying to scam us. We talked about it and decided to just give him the extra money because to us that was like a dollar and it was fine. But you can just say no and wait for another boat. Jobalito was nothing special and it was dirty with drunk passed out locals. Next time we will try the other town.

I got the deluxe suite, room 20, and the views from there are extremely gorgeous although I thought the balcony would be a little bigger. The room was decorated in an authentic native Guatemalan way, it was equipped with a queen bed and a twin bed. It also had a small living room area. It has another smaller balcony on the side facing the trees. The hot tub has to be reserved and they only reserve it twice a day so we couldn’t enjoy it during our stay. That was not a good customer experience but the friendly staff more than made up for it. They have very nice and attentive staff. There isn’t much to do in Jaibalito itself just the hotel but you can easily get a shuttle to Panajachel and explore the other villages from there. I would come here again and recommend to those looking for a relaxed or romantic getaway.

I’m a budget traveler that values natural beauty and unique locations over fancy amenities or 5 star service, so that’s my reference point. La Casa del Mundo is located on a beautiful part of Lake Atitlan with amazing views throughout the day and night. Being on a cliff, you’ll walk up and down a lot of stairs, but there are many places to have a seat and enjoy the views while you catch your breath (if needed). Also, being on a cliff, there were several jumping spots into the lake. My wife and I walked to both close villages and enjoyed slightly cheaper options on those excursions. The staff were very service minded and spoke much better English than my limited Spanish. Also, though we stayed in a budget room with a shared bathroom 10 feet away, it was no problem. Also, the shower was a separate room than the toilet so that made sharing very easy. Lastly, the grounds are beautiful and my wife and I took scores of amazing photos of the grounds and the views of the lake and volcanoes. It’s a bit remote to get to, but if you’re game for getting a bit off the beaten path and are able bodied to handle a lot of stairs, I highly recommend La Casa del Mundo!

Casa del mundo is very picture perfect but it didn't feel as authentic as some of the other places we visited. The food was average and quite pricy. We booked massage that wasn't very good, after quite a few attempts we managed to get a bit off money back at least. The jacuzzi was lovely. For unknown reason the paddle boards were broken,but we weren't told why and when we could use them. There is A LOT of stairs, so if you have issues with that it's not the best place for you.

Its a beautiful stay perched on top of hill. The views were spectacular. The staff were very friendly. Diego helped carry all the heavy luggage all the way to our room which was very nice.Food at restaurant was good.The only gripe was that the place had a power outage during our stay and we literally had no power all night. I understand things happen but would be nice to have generators to bring the power back right away for added convenience. I definitely would recommened this hotel for its spectacular views . Dont forgot to get your mosquito repelllent power bank .

Muy hermoso lugar para estar, tranquila, limpia, segura. La comida bastante normal, el personal se puede decir que le falta entrenamiento, el restaurante cierra muy temprano, las habitaciones básicas son bastante pequeñas, aunque muy limpias. Los exteriores son realmente hermosos y bien mantenidos. El paisaje desde el hotel es un sueño, tiene acceso directo al lago.

Nobody cleaned the room for 3 days that I stayed there.There's no fan in the room.

Charming place with amazing views of the lake. The garden around the property is a little eden. Room was somewhat tight, but clean & cozy. Would highly recommend it if you want to spend a few recharging days next to Lake Atitlan.

Casa Del Mundo is very beautiful and clean. The staff and the manager are very nice and works efficiently with passion. We enjoyed our stay a lot. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for nature, relaxation and great service. It was worth it!

Best juices I have ever had in my life. The stairs around the property are killer but it’s worth it for the views, quality and price. Can’t wait to come back!

This is hotel is more breathtaking than the pictures show. The views from the rooms and common spaces are beautiful. Everything is designed in a way that makes you feel like you're connected to nature and the local culture. Every meal we had was exceptional and we enjoyed plenty of beer and wine and cocktails! I had more pina coladas than ever before! We had a small single room with a private bathroom and it was great for us (two young femmes). If you are a bigger person, I'd recommend a room with a queen bed and more space to maneuver. The staff were kind and let me practice my Spanish. Some staff only speak basic English so be patient and brush up on your intro Spanish. Things I wish I knew/planned for ahead of time: there are steep stairs! Every trip to the restaurant, bathroom, or our room meant climbing dozens of steep steps. There is no room or lakeside service, so you have to go retrieve drinks and food yourself. Be ready to use your legs! The rooms don't have fans. On muggy days it can get humid and warm in the rooms. Bring a small fan or travel when it's windy or cloudy to avoid being really hot. The wifi can be weak at times, so buy an esim with double the data. I am so glad we went and will remember this stay for the rest of my life!

Absolutely stunning property. Arriving to the main dock and seeing the hotel will take your breath away. While it's one of the most gorgeous hotels I've been in, it certainly is not the most comfortable. I would still recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind less-than-ideal amenities. There are a small number of public showers that you must share with the other guests. There are also only shared bathrooms. Your bedroom is essentially a small room with just a bed and a small table. It wasn't the most comfortable sleep, and we weren't able to open the windows since there was so screen and some bugs outside. The best part is getting out of the bedroom and taking in the sights around you. There are hammocks, lounge chairs, hideaways all over the hotel to just sit back and read a book or take a dip in the lake.

It’s right at the top so many many many steps, but it was worth it. You need to fit and able to climb stairs to stay here, regardless of which room you have. We stayed 2 nights and got one clear day and one cloudy. If you get a clear day take advantage. Take photos, hire kayaks, swim. Our second day was cloudier. We walked for 5 mins along the lakeside dirt track to a bar called Indigo for more spectacular views and great food. Note that they added a 10% service charge on everything which is fine, but a bit off that they also added 10% to the room charge which was a bit naughty. But overall I’d highly recommend this place. You’ll never forget it.

Hotel views and overall ambiance are top notch. Food and accommodations are not impressive at all. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Not recommended for people with back issues.

Hola nunca escribo ningún comentario pero está vez creo que es necesario para que vayan preparados el lugar es fenomenal, el servicio super pero deben saber no hay AC , TV , secador plancha y aunque la temperatura es fresca adentro del cuarto es infernal no se si fue la que me toco a mi la habitación 15 solo para que sepan a que se enfrentan por lo demás la vista y el lugar valen la pena al menos ir por 2 noches para deleitarse con. We loved Casa Del Mundo but wouldn’t recommend to stay there. Would have rather we did a day trip. At the time of booking I just booked whatever was available, and it turns out we booked an “Economy basic” room by accident which was an extremely small room and forced to use a shared bathroom. I wish this was made more obvious to us before arrival as we were very disappointed. Overall the property is very beautiful but the shared bathroom detracted from our stay and we were tired of the limited menu from the restaurant by day 2. Still love the hotel regardless!

I would love to give this place 5 stars, it is objectively an extremely beautiful location, however the room that we were shown was quite honestly shockingly bad. We booked a standard room that does not have an en suite. The room they showed us backed directly onto the restaurant (with a shared window that had to remain curtained at all times), the only bathrooms being through the restaurant and two flights of stairs away. I can’t imagine anyone who would be happy with this arrangement, having to scooch past people having their breakfast to use the bathroom first thing in the morning. We asked if there were any other rooms and it seemed as though they were expecting this complaint. The staff here are lovely but whoever designed this room was not thinking of the guests. So I would stay again, but I would call beforehand to ensure I was not in room 5. I am not sure whether any of the other rooms are equally poorly designed.

I loved staying at Casa del Mundo. I had a birthday to celebrate I requested to decorate a table for extra charge. I called them and they planned everything to perfection. A variety of flowers on table, candles and petals on the floors. So romantic! I am so satisfied with their service. Amazing views. Worth every penny I paid . Thank you to all Casa del Mundo Staff. I’ll definitely come back.

Everything was wonderful. The only thing was we had to leave early (6:30am) on the day we left and were told someone would come help us with our bags but no one came. Usually this would be okay but the stairs were too steep for us with our luggage to do on our own.

The only positive thing about this place is the view – which you can easily enjoy from many cheaper spots in the area. The prices to stay here are extremely high, and absolutely nothing is included. You have to pay extra for food, and even the amenities like the hot tub or sauna must be booked and paid for separately. For what they charge, all you really get is a bed to sleep in. There’s nothing to do in the hotel itself or in the surrounding area. Overall, not worth the money. Additionally for an entire night we lost power. Furthermore when given the bill they add a service fee/tip and when I went to calculate the bill on my own the staff were rude making jokes about me the entire time. My original bill on Expedia was $82 cheaper so I believe it was reasonable to ask what the sudden change was and look over the “fees”.

I would have giving a 5star review all around because it was just so beautiful. But i just did not like the fact that i asked to reserve the hot tub an was told it was book, mind you i didnt have a problem that it was booked my problem was that i went to check around the area that day an no one was using the hot tube. I was really disappointed because most the staff in the dining area an the ones you encountered were very nice .

Three star rating because there were more cons than pros. Pros: the lake views, the relaxation and unwinding, lake access. Cons: Location - almost “private”, away from main town (you can walk to two towns from the location), pretty much stuck there after a certain hour if you don’t want to pay extra for a private boat to go to another town or to get back Room: Tiny, cluttered, no TV, no AC, lighting was horrible (on the plus side; no scorpions or spiders in my room during my stay) Not handicap accessible. Steep stairs. I didn’t mind but beware because those stairs are the only way up and down. Food: if stuck in the hotel, they offer food but it is not the best. Not even average. Got food poisoning my last night there from my last meal there. Had the sesame fish sticks with salad and rice. I wouldn’t stay here again for all those cons. But I would however pay for a DAY PASS (50 quetzales) to enjoy the views and relaxation spots all over the hotel for the day.

Beautiful hotel and great service. Stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Stayed in room 10, at the top of the property, beautiful views but LOTS of stairs. I’d recommend a room towards the bottom of the property next time!

Staying at Casa del Mundo was a unique and memorable experience. The hotel has its own stop so transportation on the lanchas is convenient. It’s located a few stops away from other towns on the lake, and as it’s more secluded that other hotels, it’s relaxing and quiet. During the day you can visit other towns and experience nature, great food, and culture, then come back in the evening to decompress.

Its undeniable that this hotel is located in an amazing location and is a stunner. The rooms are humble but have the basics you need. We walked to the nearby town but it wasn't worth it. I would recommend taking the boat instead and explore the other charming towns nearby. Here are 2 things that I wish I knew earlier. The hot tub needs to be reserved but if you get a spot when the sun goes down, you will sit in complete darkness. The food at the restaurant costs the same as in the US. We paid on average $15 per meal. There aren't other options as the boats don't run past a certain hour. Additionally, be prepared to commute 5 hours to the airport. We spent $135 on a private shuttle. Uber is unreliable but you can use a shared shuttle if time is not of the essence.

Pictures don’t do it justice. Situated in the side of the mountain, lots of steps so if you have mobility issues I would not recommend. Seating areas throughout the hotel which was great for us to catch the lightening storm. I wound up sick and wish I had felt better to do more exploring. Love that there is a path from the hotel to walk to Santa Cruz and jaibalitos. If you’re planning on any water activities morning is the best time.

This hotel is an experience. If we come back to Atitlan, we will stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is limited food as everything is a boat ride away, but the food they served was good. We stayed over Thanksgiving and had their Thanksgiving dinner, which was fantastic. The hotel is quiet and secluded, but it is also easy to grab a boat to Pana or one of the other parts of the lake.

Muy bello el lugar, en general bien, pero tiene sus detalles que hacen de la experiencia menos agradable, muchas escaleras, no me gustó que aunque pueden hacer cobros con tarjeta solo aceptan efectivo lo cual se vuelve un problema, la comida está bien, pero recomiendo ir a otro lado, precios elevados y un menú pequeño.

The setting and ambiance is unmatched. Unbelievably beautiful, super friendly people and good vibes all around. Stairs are a fun challenge. Views are unreal. Above and beyond service. Some notes- food not great and expensive. I recommend eating out as much as possible. I wish there were a Whatsapp number I could ask small questions. The economy rooms are great but should be noted that the website says they get a private patio/balcony and that is not true. It does have a beautiful window facing the lake tho. And there are plenty of common areas with amazing views. Overall, incredibly amazing experience. Stay a while and really soak it in.
