Homestay Horn Lake Southaven

A great convenient hotel. Could use some updating, like the towels (they were stained, but smelled clean) and seals around the door (you could see light).

Staying here was nice! The pool was clean and alluring but we had a full schedule. Breakfast was warm, the apple/orange juice tasted a lil funky but nothing too bad. The bathroom and beds were relatively clean minus a couple loose hairs and some old, small mold stains. You can tell this was a renovation, a lot of work was defenitely put into the place. All in all i would stay here again for a low and affordable rate. Brought my dog too - deposit was 100 and dog fee was 25.

It was ok, I didn’t like the fact the hotel doesn’t show the outside of the hotel in pictures. I would not had booked it if I knew the doors to the room led to the outside. Overall the was ok

I liked that it was quiet and small but the amenities were not as advertised: no gym and MIA coffee pot in the room.

I didn’t like the outside rooms, I didn’t realize it was outside rooms until I arrived. Asked if I could get a downstairs room because of one of roommates was disabled & there’s no elevator. The front desk clerk wasn’t accommodating at all. Didn’t attempt to try & assist me. The rooms were outdated. Our toilet clogged & wouldn’t flush. The room beside us the tenant was complaining about the shower wall falling on them. Our door wouldn’t close good. We could literally see outside the with it locked & close. They charge a deposit as well.

Would be even better if there was a small coffee pot in the rooms.

It was ok. But was required to not take breakfast in your room and had to stay in lobby to eat. The coffee machine had out of service on it for most of my visit. The gym was closed (not available). It was ok service. My rating would be 7/10 because of what I noted above.

I didnt like that the kids weren't able to get in thw pool... the towels were dirty looking.

People hanging out in front of the rooms smoking and being loud. People parking like they dont care abiut their vehicle. Felt like i had to look out and see if my vehicle would be safe. Not enough lighting around the oarking lot.

the ac unit was LOUD LOUD LOUD, broken steps, broken drawers on dresser, pool was DISGUSTING, NO REAL BREAKFAST, it was a bag with a muffin and a granola bar, wifi was SLOW SLOW SLOW, not worth 110.00 more like $65 a night to sleep and leave asap.

Absolutely the worst stay ever. Bathroom was dirty, bed was very uncomfortable and squeaked every time you moved. You could hear everything coming from every room around you. We were awakened at 12:30 by the sound of someone moving furniture next door for well over an hour. Then back awake before 7 when the people next door got up to leave because you could hear everything they did. The heating/cool unit for our room was so loud we couldn’t sleep with it on. And the door to our room didn’t seal when shut. You could see outside the room through the cracks. Absolutely horrible night. Then at 9 we heard screams coming from the room down from us that sounded terrifying so we left. We will never be back.

This place was awful!!!!! Black mold everywhere!! Dirty sheets!!!

It was absolutely disgusting. Bugs everywhere. There was a spider in the bed. I had to request a new room, only to be met with a bed with stained sheets. I wasn’t expecting a five star, but at least it should be clean. I slept at the foot of the bed wrapped in a sheet fully clothed. I won’t be back. Unless you just have no other options, I don’t recommend this place. And it sucks because the staff was so polite and understanding.

Very unclean and dirty

The rooms were no smoking but the smoke stitch was overbearing we had to change rooms that was a little very little better. The linen was gray looking and the towels were hard and dirty looking. The toilet was extremely low to the floor. The paint was chipped and it appeared to have mole in the cracks of bathroom around the tub. I purchased cleaning spray and sprayed the shower walls. I will never stay nor recommend this place.

Very disappointed in this hotel. Very run down. Had a no smoking room that smelled of smoke, had a chair that had a big stain on the seat and woke up with bugs running across the tv stand!! Told the attendant the issues I had when I checked out and asked for a discount. Was told that the manager was not in duty until the next day. I’m still awaiting a call from the hotel manager. Do not waste your money on this place!!!

My tub had hair in it the mirrors was dirty housekeeping did a very poor job

The first night was very terrible. There was bugs in my room, the room was absolutely disgusting😬. They were goof about seeing that I got another room and if I was comfortable they were willing to give me a refund. After the room move to a new room that was much cleaner the stay was good. It is not what the photos show.

Air conditioner was leaking water. Asked for someone to come and look at it. Front desk came to bring us towels to put on the water. That's it. No repair no nothing. There was a huge puddle of water. Then my mom's ac on the room next to us went out and no one came to help.

I reserved a double queen room a month in advance and requested it be handicapped accessible due to my mother being unable to climb stairs. When I got to check in, they didn’t have a handicapped accessible room for us and no elevator to use to get to the second floor. Once we helped my mother up multiple stairs and got to the room, it reeked of marijuana. This was probably due to the 5 or so people hanging out in the parking lot smoking. The room was also supposed to have two queen beds in it but they were full sized. I picked up the phone to call the front desk to request a cot, the phone didn’t work. I used my cell phone to call the front and they informed me they don’t have any cots. When we were leaving the next morning, my husband noticed the door wouldn’t latch all the way. We made it work for the night but absolutely would NOT stay here again.

Room had a strong smell of marijuana. Small towels. AC was old and rusted but VERY cold. Excellent water pressure.

There was also weird smell in our room that we weren’t sure where it was coming from. The room was an average room, no worse no better. It had good water pressure, clean towels but the bed seemed to dip down towards the middle.

The room was very clean. However, the air conditioner was very loud which made it hard to sleep. The doors are loud when they are shut and the neighbors were slamming their door late into the night. The bathroom had a bad smell. The area seemed a little sketchy.

Room smelled like weed. Shower needs to be cleaned or repaired. Lots of noise early in the morning.

The tv quit on our last night there, and no one could fix it. no WIFI, otherwise good location.

The hotel receives high reviews but it is very basic, not even a coffee maker in the room. It was clean but very dated. It worked for us for a one night stay before leaving early on a flight the next day but would not be a choice for staying very long, or hanging out in the room.

Great place for a one night stay! Comfortable and quiet! The bed was comfy and clean. Overall a decent choice.

This hotel WOULD NOT honor our reservation we booked throb Orbitz because even though it says the room sleeps 3, they would not let us keep it because they said it was only for 2. It was my husband and I along with our 13yo son. He did we needed 2 beds. We explained to him that the hotel days sleeps 3, he would not let us have it as we booked it, he charged us more and made us get 2 double beds. We just drove 9hrs to get there abs our was after 11pn. We were leaving at 7am..... so much extra for just a 7hr stay! The morning management also said he's not sure why it says sleeps 3..... but if clearly does! You'd rather lose a customer vs doing the right thing?

Booked the room late so security had to check me in He was nice enough to drive me from the front to the vending machines then to my room stayed to make sure my key worked

The hotel is old but relatively clean but the staff are so rude. You walk in to ask a question and it's like you're bothering them. We stayed there three times. Now we won't be coming back.

WiFi didn’t work. Manager said it wasn’t his problem even after I showed him. Didn’t want to refund me but eventually did. Drove 1 block away and found a better hotel.

The motel was fine. The problem was I forgot my pillow when I called to see if I could have them send it to me. They said they have the pillow but I took one of theirs instead and that they were charging me $50 for it I denied taking one of their pillows and place of my own hundred dollar therapeutic pillow, but they were still going to charge me. I asked to talk to the manager who wasn’t gonna be in until Monday so I called on Tuesday Monday I was busy call Dan Tuesday called on Wednesday was told they had a family family emergency and he wouldn’t be in until the following Tuesday , I threaten to give a bad report and I finally did get the credit back for the $33 of the 50 and then a day later I got the remaining balance credited back to my card but they still have my pillow. They won’t send it back to me , along with my dirty clothes that were inside of it

It was convient to restaurant.

Broken down looking cars , shady people and no hygiene products provided. Bath towels had bad stains , floor felt dirty and door kept getting jammed.

Review of Homestay Horn Lake / Southaven MS: I recently had a disappointing experience staying at the Homestay Horn Lake / Southaven MS. Unfortunately, there were several significant issues that affected my stay. Firstly, the hotel is located in a questionable area. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe during my time there, especially when walking around the vicinity of the hotel. This sense of insecurity greatly impacted my overall experience. Additionally, there was a pervasive and unpleasant smell of chemicals throughout the hotel. It seemed as though they were attempting to cover up the smell of marijuana. This odor was overpowering and made it difficult to enjoy my time in the hotel. Furthermore, the atmosphere in the hotel was far from pleasant. There was loud music playing, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. The disruptive noise continued into the late hours, which further added to my frustration and dissatisfaction. Overall, my experience at the Homestay Horn Lake / Southaven MS was negative. The questionable area, strong chemical odor, and disruptive environment made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I would not recommend this hotel to others, as it did not meet the basic standards of comfort, safety, and a peaceful environment that one would expect from a hotel.

The gravy and biscuits were cold

My 2 night stay was alright. The staff is very accommodating. The location is safe and quiet... not on a very busy highway, but close enough to restaurants and shopping centers. The motel itself is a little worn, but some updates (flooring and paint) to the rooms were attempted, and the price was good. Breakfast is provided, but limited. I was able to get some scrambled eggs and sausage patties my first morning there, but had to settle for a waffle the next morning. The coffee was good :)

finally got them to accept my service dogs for free stay but I had to put a $100 dollar deposit and i don't believe that is fair for a disabled person and the girl that works the afternoon shift told me that i had to pay for my service dogs because they don't accept my letter about my dogs being service dogs animals and the breakfast the first time was good and the next morning was biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were hard and they were about as half dollar

It was advertised that there was breakfast. The “breakfast” was a bag with a bottle of water a nature valley bar and a muffin. That’s not breakfast. Would have liked to have a Microwave in the room. Overall the room was nice and clean, comfortable bed and a nice relaxing stay.

It was pretty clean inside, outside was older looking. The people were good but hard to understand. The breakfast area a food was great.

It was hard to understand the guy who checked us in. We had a nonsmoking room, but, there was a faint smell of smoke in the room. Pictures and information online showed a buffet style full breakfast. Breakfast was a brown paper bag with a granola bar, fruit cup, a packaged blueberry muffin, and a water bottle. We had 4 people in our room and arrived 30 minutes before breakfast was over and there were only 2 bag breakfasts left. Upon leaving, there was a couple sitting outside of their room smoking weed.
