Cool, old school Japan experience. Dated for sure but has charm. Nice folks running it. Breakfast was small, probably the only real complaint. Also no instant coffee available to make on your own so for those that like to get up and have a cup it’s not happening until breakfast and if you order Japanese breakfast you pay extra for coffee. Cold in the hotel, and the kerosene heaters don’t turn on super early so you’re in your room till 7. Nice onsen.

Very clean. Older but charming. Exactly what I wanted. Delicious restaurant on site to use if you get snowed in or just want a fantastic meal. Onsen was also great.

Very old ryokan, even the wallpaper fell off here and there, but feels quite original and ancient, the onsen too, I wouldn’t rate it as a super good stay, but for the price, I would say it is quite worth it

Come here for the best experience. So cozy. Small mountain town. It’s not the four seasons, it’s much better. Family owned. Lowkey. Come and enjoy yourself.
