We’re a traveling basketball team, and we booked Candlewood Suites in Bloomington specifically for the pool and the in-room fridge—both important when you’ve got a group of kids and a weekend full of games. While the fridge is a decent size, it definitely needed a proper cleaning (some mystery liquid was lurking in the drawers—yikes). The biggest issue? The pool. It’s been out of order for nearly a year, but that wasn’t mentioned anywhere when we booked. If we had known, we absolutely would’ve chosen a different hotel. The photos online are misleading. Cleanliness was also a letdown. One of the bathroom pictures in our room had long hair caked to the glass—like it hadn’t been wiped in forever. And unfortunately, every room our team booked had a weird, musty funk to it that was impossible to ignore. Needless to say, our team won’t be staying here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either—especially if you’re traveling with kids or expecting basic amenities to match the listing.

The hotel was very nice and quite. But the parking lot was a disasters there was ice everywhere and especially in the handicap parking area. We did not need thoses spaces but such a fall risk for all.

Bathroom was cleanish, black hairs in tub and on floor. Room was spacious ,AC worked, pool wasn’t available, coffee machine in commissary area was NASTY!!!!! And that’s being nice. Employee, who was nice said coffee machine was broken. I basically chose this place and paid the high price compacted to others in the area just for the pool so I could spend time w my granddaughters while I was here visiting. A lot of the hotel was clean and ok, just some of the other areas weren’t.

The staff were nice. The room was fine. The only real issue was there was no ice available in the whole hotel. I checked in and I felt that the should have been spoken of during check-in and not after when I went to my room and noticed that I didn't have a ice bucket. Having a fridge in the room with no ice in the freezer didn't help my one night stay overnight

Arrived to a room that had a stain on the comforter and leftover food in the refrigerator. Also, there was a random comb in the bathroom, obviously less left by a previous guest when brought to the attention of the staff they were very friendly in offered another room, I was going to be gone for a couple hours so I just asked that they clean the existing room and I would be back later. Room basically needs updates. Shower curtain rod was barely hanging in the wall and there were stains on the ceiling. Towels and toiletries were super nice however. Staff was very friendly.

We were welcomed by the stench of the lobby and the smell continued to our room. Bed cover was ripped and dirty and was not washed for years. Stains in the toilet. Hot water will stop abruptly. We understand the hotels are crowded in this area due to the large number of families coming to Bloomington. But this place is not the place to stay. Please do not add additional stress staying at this place. Not ot mentiona they charge very high price. For an additional $20 there are other clean hotels in Bloomington. If there is an option to upload photos we could have uploaded the photos of the filthy rooms.

Our room had someone's left over chicken in the refrigerator, the furniture had not been dusted in some time as evidenced by the layer of dust on the nightstand and lamps. We were awakened o. Saturday morning by the smell of weed from the neighboring room. On Sunday at 4am we woke to a strong cigarette smoke smell. Not sure if it was from the hallway or same room, but my husband has asthma and both incidents caused him some breathing issues. The room also smelled musty. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the front desk staff was nice.

Really great place to stay! Loved the suite set-up, full size fridge, proximity to interstate, personable & efficient staff, and cleanliness. Faucet & black-out curtain needed minor adjustments to function optimally. Highly recommend!

Liked the entrance and ease of access to elevator and room, staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean but items provided limited. Bed was OK, not great, but good pillows. TV rather on the small side, couldn't get captions, even though supposed to be in a hearing accessible room. Expected shower not tub as accessible.

Room was super rundown and bathroom not clean. Both shampoo and body wash empty and locked. We moved our son out of his dorm and it was so hot that day. Dying to take a shower! After waiting an hour and a half, I went down to desk and brought an attendant up to replace the empty bottles. Will not be staying here again no matter how cheap the room is compared to others in the area…😬

Does not offer online check-in. Which is fine, but it did take a while to do the actual check in at the desk. We stayed 2 nights. The 2nd night we got some snacks from their little store. When we went to the desk to have them charged to our room, we found out that we were not checked in. They did take care of it by the time we left. Overall this is more like an extended stay hotel but on the cheaper side.

My room was already paid for a week before I arrived. The front desk attendant asked for my license then proceeded to say my card had been declined? She never asked for a card and the card that I had used to pay for my room had a 0 balance. Next evening we stop at the front desk for coffee. she said we were not even in there system. But she wanted to comfort us by saying are stuff had not been touched.

I was on a company trip, for 3 days. I paid for 3 rooms as well. The desk clerk falsely accused my adult work crew of being loud and smoking in the room. After offering him and staff to enter room , to prove we were not doing such a thing , he evicted us and said he was calling cops. Keep in mind , I have an adult crew, 50yr old plus , and we are not kids, but this “kid” was rude, unprofessional, had no proof whatsoever and no argument or respect. We also asked to talk to upper management, but he resorted to the back office like a baby. Horrible experience, and no refund was granted for the days we did not even stay.

Was in town for an event at Indiana University, so proximity of this establishment was perfect. Convience of shopping and restaurants was also good and its literally off the interstate, so getting there and finding the location was a breeze.

My stay was average at the Candlewood Suites. The pool was closed for maintenance which was disappointing cause my family was looking forward to using it. It didn’t seem like anyone was working on it the entire time during our stay. They did not have any hot breakfast. There was a lot of commotion and horseplay going on above us on the next floor and it didn’t seem like any of the staff addressed the noise with anyone as it continued for a couple hours. Overall I feel like I could have went to a different hotel of the same price or even cheaper and had options to the amenities this one did not have.
