This is a great location for spotting sea turtles while you enjoy breakfast from your balcony! The pool and spa are well maintained, and the parking is very easy. It’d be a 5-star from me if they had a gym available and if the kitchen was a little better stocked—you have to bring your own salt and pepper.

Proximity to all local eateries and beach and grocery store is perfect! Very quiet. No frills other than a place with kitchen, washer/dryer, and fantastic ocean view. There was no housekeeping service during our stay which we did not mind. Water and elevator got shut off for a few hours but we worked around it. Pool and jacuzzi are perfect! Highly recommend this place.

Love the two bedroom two bathroom plus sleeper sofa with kitchen and oceanfront room. Did not like the second bathroom was inside of the second bedroom so sleeper sofa guests had to go into a bedroom to use bathroom. Loved towels and chairs provided for pool and beach! Loved shuffle board. Did not love paying $15 per fitness center access.

I like that we were literally right on the beach, every morning waking up to that view was amazing. The hotel has no amenities except for a swimming pool, but we could use the sister hotel to eat and we got a discount. The only thing I didn’t like about the room, there were two lights that every time you would pass by them they would turn on, one was in the bathroom and one was in the doorway as you came in. It was very annoying, especially if you had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night

Property was 50 feet from the ocean with great balcony (lanai). Dukes Restaurant was only a short walk down the beach. Staff was exceptionally friendly. The condo pool is very old with minimal shallow water so it might be an issue for a family with children. Pool and beach furniture was plentiful. Rooms are individually owned so decorating and amenities vary. Unfortunately, the TV's in our room were both very old and had small screens (approx 24 inch diagonal). Owner needs to upgrade at least the bedroom to a larger size. Otherwise, the unit was terrific, and we enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at the Aston Mahana was great. The unit we were in was beautiful with a breathtaking view of the ocean. We saw turtles daily! The property itself was nice with a pool and hot tub and it was very well kept. The location was nice. The beach in front of the property was not swimmable due to the coral but all it took was a short walk down the beach to a swimmable area. The location was nice with food trucks nearby, a grocery store and many other shopping options. Also, a quick 5 minute drive to whalers village with upscale restaurants and shopping. We had a wonderful stay and trip!

This property does not have some of the amenities of the larger resorts, but what it does have is the most excellent view of any hotel I stayed in on the Hawaiian islands. From our room and its balcony, we could watch the sea turtles swim by, see dolphins and rays, and just enjoy the waves. The view is absolutely amazing. We had easily room for 5 in our two bedroom. The suite had the needed kitchen tools and appliances (most in pretty good condition), and the beds were comfortable. Nice, but small, pool (deep). Easy parking for one vehicle only. Close to a grocery and snorkel rental place, and walkable to one nearby restaurant. Overall, highly recommend.

right on the beachfront was a huge plus. Being a private condo building, not having maid service was a minor negative, and not having a restaurant on site, made us glad we had rented a car, although there are numerous dining options nearby.

Unbeatable view and location. The beach next door the hotel was nice and we saw lots of turtles. Several restaurants and food trucks within walking distance. Only complaint is our kitchen/bathroom had cockroaches despite pest control spraying during our stay and we did not leave any food/products out.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The property was clean and has gorgeous views. We saw so much from our lanai from tons of sea turtles; dolphins; and even a large whale. Also a short walk takes you to a large parking lot with a huge variety of AMAZING food trucks to choose from. It’s a very convenient location.

The views are amazing. I watched dolphins swim by from my couch but… My couch was infested with tiny ants and the HVAC in the living room was so loud, I learned to spend time only in the bedroom or outside. The place was safe, quiet, friendly. The other guests were friendly and well mannered. The location was great. Off the beaten path but convenient to amazing snorkeling and easy access to food. My place was dated and not well cleaned. Dried rice grains on the couch, a hair on the pillow, crumbs on the chairs. The kitchen was well appointed though no salt / pepper so be sure to bring those!

The view from the room was amazing. We could see sea turtles all the time. The condo was very clean and nice. The only negative I’d say is the pool is really small- although we were there for the ocean, so it didn’t matter so much for us. And the building overall is older. But a lot of renovations are done, you can still tell in certain areas. I am very picky about hotels and We would definitely go back. Also- the concierge was amazing and so helpful.

I was expecting a tastefully decorated, fairly updated room for the booking of a “premium room.” What I got was some Asian-Buddhist nightmare. The room was filled with Asian antique furniture and decor, along with mirrors everywhere. It was positively creepy. Asked to have another room and they gave us two other options which we looked at. Both were old, dingy and extremely outdated. But we took the lesser of two evils. White appliances, dingy furniture, there was a shower cap still hanging from a previous guest in the bathroom. My son found crumbs in one of the twin beds in the second bedroom. And the king bed had a huge hole/dip in it that was absolutely disgusting and downright unbelievable. (Unbelievable that no one else has complained about it???) We had oceanfront and the view was phenomenal, can’t complain about the size of the unit either. But it matters more to me the condition and ambience of the room itself. But to each his own I guess. We stayed that one night and canceled the other two nights because we hated it there.

Property was good. Although all 5 days of our visit we had no room service. No towels no cleaning nothing. For the price we paid and for a resort fee we were charged with no amenities at all I think it was a ripoff.

The view from the hotel was amazing! We switch rooms because the carpet had an odder and the bed was uncomfortable. The second room kitchen was nice and the bathroom but The only issue the room is outdated and the Carpet had a strong odder and the pull out bed was very uncomfortable and had a bad odder as well. The pillows were super flat as well.

The location of the resort on the beach is wonderful. The view from our room was amazing. We saw Whales coming up and when on the beach saw many turtles. The pool area was well kept and access to the beach was quite easy. The room has an amazing view and was very spacious. However, our unit was really outdated. The bathrooms need a lot of work. The showers have mold. Under the glasses on all the tables were dirt and dust. It seemed like it had not been cleaned for a long time. There is a shopping area and restaurants within walking distance but not particularly decent quality. You need a car to go to other places. We would stay here again if there were improvements to the rooms, especially the bathrooms.

The ocean view is absolutely stunning! You can drift off to sleep to the soothing sound of the waves and bask in the mesmerizing sunset. The room is very spacious, offering ample privacy for your stay. Additionally, the hotel staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. Beautiful room with kitchen and view. Nice to have the option of eating in room as eating out is expensive in Hawaii! Coffee provided for room not great so just buy some Kona! Comfortable bed and quiet room. Washer and dryer in room was a surprise bonus. Nice pool setting. Enjoyed watching turtles, whales, dolphins, boats all from our private deck. Narrow beach area in front of hotel to walk on but not really accessible for ocean swimming due to rocks and coral. Would go there again!

This was our second time staying at the Mahana. Our first time here was in 2020, and now in 2024. The rooms continue to be top notch, and the views are always wonderful. We had a 2 bedroom premium condo in 2020 and a 1 bedroom standard room in 2024. We could definitely tell the difference between the two types of rooms and will book the premium condo on our next stay here. Furnishings like patio and living room furniture is higher quality for sure in the premium condos. Parking is free and plentiful, and the grounds with all of the palm trees and landscaping was very well cared for.

It’s all about the views and friendly staff. But if you’re looking for a modern place with lots of amenities, this isn’t it. Clean but a bit worn room, with nice kitchen and gorgeous views. First night we were put in an upgraded room with a very musty odor, this was resolved the next day. We unfortunately then had lots of noise from some upstairs neighbors. Great family spot with incredible views but probably would look elsewhere for more consistent room options in the future.

Bedroom, living room with ocean view and kitchen were big and fabulous. You have a couple of very good restaurants nearby, eg, Duke’s. The only downside was extra payment for housekeeping service.

We have stayed there several times. This time th room was not great. There are big differences in the rooms we have gotten in the past. And not knowing which room you will get until checkin is difficult. The staff is very nice and helpful and of course the view cannot be beat.

Beautiful setting right on the water. The best view of all the resorts in Ka’anapali. Friendly staff. We had a broken washer in our unit, but the maintenance guys had it fixed the next day. Turtles all day long right in front of the resort. Whales all over the place.

On early Saturday morning at 7:20am there were people outside of my bedroom cleaning the windows. No early notices were given. I complained to the front desk. Their initial response was for me to contact the building association. It was not a pleasant situation or professional communication.

The Aston Mahana at Kaanapali Shores was superb! Every room has an ocean view and ours did not disappoint. Aside from the minor snag with getting a rental vehicle on the first day of our trip, everything is within walking distance and we made it work with a few Ubers and public transportation. Hotel staff are super friendly and they were very accommodating with anything needed. Highly recommend!

Overall, we had such a great stay at this hotel. The only negative thing was when we first walked in our room there were a bunch of small black bugs and 2 cockroaches but we called the front desk and they helped us out and got us into a new room the next day. Our new room was so great with the huge windows in the living room and the balcony as well. We had such a nice experience in this new room!

The location of the hotel was amazing. The ocean view from the balcony is breathtaking. Having a full kitchen for our three kids was a big plus. Having the food trucks and fish market nearby helped a lot too.
