Coda on Half, a Placemakr Experience - Navy Yard

We stayed here to be close to the Nationals Park to see the Cubs play. The location did not disappoint. It's a five minute walk to Nationals Park and there are a number of bars and restaurants along the way to start the party. Cubs won both games we went to so that was a plus too! Go Cubbies! Positives: Close to Nationals Park, room was pretty clean (there was some blue painters tape on the floor that stayed there the entire visit), staff is super friendly and helpful, felt safe in the room and walking in the area. The area is crazy dog friendly (I've never seen so many dogs walking in an urban area) Negatives: We stayed 3 nights and that's not long enough to get anyone to clean the room. The staff did help us with new towels and k-cup pods when we asked, however. You will need to keep your key with you or phone with you at all times since that is the only way to get in the front door, elevator and your hotel room. We were a little disappointed that there was no bar or restaurant, but you really feel like you are living in an apartment building (we stayed in the 2 bedroom). If you smoke BE AWARE that there is NO SMOKING on the terrace or in front of the building or you will incur a $500 fine. I didn't know this when I booked and my wife smokes. She would have enjoyed simply going out on the terrace to or up to the penthouse floor to have a smoke, but instead had to go around the corner to an alley next to a minor emergency center. Overall: We would stay here again

The kitchen was a definite perk since we picked up Maryland crabs at the Municipal Fish Market and brought them back to our room to eat. Luckily we were able to get onsite parking although I did pay a little less than $70/night. The man and lady at the desk when we arrived were so pleasant and accommodating offering assistance with the Latch app, etc. I would definitely stay here again.

We came for a baseball game, so the location of Coda on Half was PERFECT-- just a few blocks away. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable! The roof deck was awesome and we could've spent hours up there, if we didn't have other plans already. This is our new go-to hotel in DC. Only drawback: I inquired a few weeks in advance and was told I could reserve a parking spot and park before check-in, but when we arrived, we were told we couldn't access parking until our room was available. It took some circling of the neighborhood to find a garage with open spots on a busy game day.

The property was located walking distance from Nationals Park and from the monuments. The apartment had numerous features that you don't get in a hotel, like two bathrooms, kitchen, full fridge. But also hotel amenities like a front desk and gym.

I like everything about the location

Very modern building, well-designed layout, and especially enjoyed the penthouse amenities as well as the fitness center!

While the property was pretty and clean we had issues. The faucet in kitchen leaked from first day (Saturday). It took until Monday to fix which left us with no water in kitchen. Also, the website says parking garage but they leave out that it is $65 a night. Also, every time you want to park your car in the garage you have to park and then go to the front and ask someone to come let you in which was pretty annoying. So parking is a nightmare here. Otherwise the staff was friendly and location was good.

Spacious suites, decent size gym and amazing location close to the metro.

Very clean and nice. I would use the stay again if they can change the garage system for parking. To call everytime and waiting in the alley for someone to open up garage was not convenient at all. Otherwise it was great!!

This was like having your own efficiency apartment, complete with kitchen and even a washer and dryer in the unit. They give you an app for keyless entry, not just for your unit, but for the building and elevators, which makes it very safe. You dont even have to press or do anything in the app. Simply have it open and walk up to the elevator or room and it unlocks for you. Way cooool.

The room needed to be cleaned a little bit more lots of dust under the beds and tables but other than that it was very good

I stayed at this property two years ago and it was excellent. However my recent stay shows signs of a lack of upkeep in investment in the property. Staff was friendly and helpful but the bed was so squeaky that it impacted sleep, seating was stained and floors were dirty, we had other family in a different room where the stove was broken and they had a smoke detector beeping.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and had a really nice experience. This time was totally different. Our room was dirty. There was hair and debris in the bathtub and fridge and the furniture was dirty. There were also stains and dirt on the walls. To add insult to injury our room was freezing we did not have internet access. They agreed to change our room which was nice but only agreed to reimburse us for the cleaning fee and disregarded our other complaints

The property looks exactly like the pictures, actually bigger. The staff were really helpful with the check in process and even extending the stay. The two drawbacks are that parking is likely to be on the street as the garage was full our entire stay but luckily we were able to find close parking and it was the weekend before a federal holiday. The second is that the hotel is pet friendly and clumps of fur were under the beds and in the rug which triggered my allergies. I would check the floor upon check in and ask for it to be cleaned if there is fur present. I didn’t catch the fur being under the beds on the woods floors until right before check out unfortunately. Otherwise it was a great stay in a fabulous location.

This place is incredibly comfortable, with new amenities and a great location. It’s also super clean.

The wall are so thin you can hear everything outside it’s so live at night. Every time I would fall asleep I was waken up to the noise outside from yelling to music to people in front of the building hangout. Although the layout of the apartment was nice the cleanliness is questionable.dust everywhere nothing wiped down. The bare minimum of cleaning. Towels had dirt spots on them. The sofa smells like dog the floor was dirty, not mopped at all. When I layed down on the bed, all I can smell was dog. The sink stopped up and the shower had hair in it.

I totally love Coda on Half. My only issue with the hotel was some of the cleanliness. The sheets, towels, shower could have been cleaned better. There were dark spots on the towels, hair in the shower and brown spots on the bed sheets. I would also suggest having a standing mirror in the units. It was difficult not knowing what I looked like from head to toe without a standing mirror. Other than that, I would totally stay at this hotel again.

My room was decent. I wish the cleaning crew would have cleaned the room better. The floor ls had crumbs and dirt in the living room and kitchen, like they forgot to vacuum. The counters still had grease and other cup stains as well as they left me no toliet paper, half empty toiletries / dishsoap(travel size) and used wash clothes under the sink. It like they only made the bed and did a spot check. I messaged down stairs to the front desk a couple of time and got no response. Also the placement of the bedroom is in the middle with clear glass sliding door that got stuck and i couldnonly close it half way, unless i wanted to be trapped in the room.

The property itself is nice, modern, and stylish. The rooms themselves are very nice and large. The site advertised on site parking, but they don’t have enough parking for all guests and street parking becomes a tow away zone on baseball game days. The desk attendant was unhelpful and not knowledgeable about parking alternatives. The blinds on the bedroom windows are semi transparent which lets bright morning sun into the room about 5:45 am. They didn’t provide creamer or sweetener in the room for coffee.

This place is pretty good. Clean, spacious, well-equipped. Kitchen with microwave and toaster, and washer/dryer. My daughter and I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite here and it suited us well, with a few problems that you should be aware of that may or may not be relevant to you. Location - if you've looked at a map you'll see it's not totally central. It's nearest the Green line on the subway, which means you'll be transferring onto the Red line to go to many of the tourist sites. Having said that, it's still very convenient - it's a 1 block walk to the subway station. One day we decided not to use the subway and walked to the Capitol building; it only took 20-25 minutes. So the location is pretty good, (but not amazing). Check-in. Man this is unnecessarily complicated. You have to download an appl just to let yourself in the front door. From there you will check in with a human being who will issue you a standard hotel prox card and never use the app again. Sleep. This was the big problem for us. On floor 3 you could hear every conversation on the street below. Worse, the blinds aren't block-out - so you're constantly illuminated by light bright enough to read by. Good thing we had our eye masks with us. I believe a hotel has fundamentally failed if it doesn't give you a good night's sleep. Thanks to the light (and also the noise) we never got this here. Hopefully the hotel will install curtains or block-out blinds in the future.

Really nice, modern facility. Very safe. The windows really needed blackout shades, though. The room was very bright all night.

The bed was horrible, creaky and broken and kept me awake all night because every time I moved it made noise. Then the desk said they couldn’t do anything about the inconvenience.

Nice property. Very clean. Great location. Bed said it was a queen but it was tiny, more likea full. There was enough room for a king so why they went so small is puzzling.

The property itself was very clean and nice but it was kind of ridiculous that the parking costs so much, it’s exploitation. I didn’t even get true in n out “privileges”. It’s also insane that they want you to use your phone as a key to every door on property. They give you one physical key card and threaten to charge $50 if you lose it. The rooftop was nice, no free amenities like coffee or anything in the lobby. When I checked in one of the workers was kind of rude, and they never delivered towels to the room when requested, but upon checkout the other woman was nice. Overall, clean and safe building, good location, but they nickel and dime you for everything. Even the coffee is 39 cents/ounce. Also, the walls feel thin, we heard partying till 3 am.

Great location for us. Yannick is a gem - great personalized service and made sure we were happy in every way. Also, shout out to Mickey at the front desk - great energy and also took care of us and answered many questions!

Propertty over sold their reservations, which is absurd, and when we arrived from airport we were told we no longer had a 3-bedroom unit for our family.. We paid In full for this 3-bedroom unit 4 months in advance but were told they they couldn’t accommodate us any longer. How do you over so a property, do you not know how many rooms you have available to reserve at any given moment? Very unhappy with this property manager, and the way he mishandled our reservation.

They didn’t honor my reservation. When we arrived they told us there were no rooms available and they booked us at their sister property which was 20 minutes away. I was livid since the whole point of staying there was that it was within walking distance to Nationals Park. The manager wouldn’t even come out and talk to us. The whole trip to DC was a complete nightmare.

It was awesome from beginning to end! Perfect location, inexpensive parking, fabulous customer service with Yannick and the young ladies at the desk! My only "complaint" was the loud and consistent hum of the refrigerator! Ugh. Lol. (And the price tag, but I got what I paid for!)

This was a great stay due to the awesome staff! From the check-in to check-out, the staff made me feel right at home with their kindness. A big thank you to the entire team, especially to Yannick & Mickal, for making my stay so great, and Coda on Half will forever be my go to place to stay in the DC area!

Very difficult check-in. You get stuck everywhere without a key—can’t park unless they manually open door. They did for us but hadn’t completed our check in. We got stuck in the garage. Thankfully someone got us out. Then we finally get to room, beds aren’t made. Tried to check out and literally no one at desk. Ridiculous

Great location! Plenty of restaurants and bars and night life. Close to Metro. Room/apartment was clean and comfortable. Loved the full kitchen and the washer and dryer were a fabulous extra. Very quiet. Staff super friendly and welcoming and helpful. Will stay here again next time we’re in town.

I like everything about the location

Great location, clean and close to metro. Nice new finishes and spacious room. Navy Yard is noisy party vibe but got quiet at reasonable hour. Check in and access procedures quite cumbersome and started with not receiving the promised email or text with necessary information.

Our three night stay was perfect! Highly recommend for anyone visiting DC, but especially sports fans. Easy to walk to the Nats ballpark and soccer stadium. Easy train ride to Capitals game. Pretty easy to get to Capitol Hill and the National Mall too. Room was clean, well equipped, staff was so friendly and helpful. Tons of restaurant options and Whole Foods and CVS both are an easy walk. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Hotel was fine but unfortunately the location 2 blocks from the ballpark didn't work for us. They had events on both weekend evenings that were incredibly loud with loud music and crowd noise travelling along the concrete canyon. Great if you were attending the events but not our preferred atmosphere.

My family loved this hotel. The Metro is 4 minutes away by foot. You can also walk to Safreway, CVS, several coffee/Breakfast spots and Wholefoods in under 10 minutes. We are definitely staying again. Ps.Tiara and Kenny at the front desk were the absolute best.

Convenient, clean, spacious, well equipped and friendly place to stay. Bed comfortable. Full kitchen area. Safe area of Washington with Capitol Hill an easy walk away. Range of restaurants within a few minutes walk. We liked Circa.

Great location. Most of the staff was helpful and friendly. The apartment had everything needed for light cooking with utensils and china for four people. The shower had good pressure. The weather was nice for walking with plenty to do and see in the neighborhood.

I loved!!! The staff was friendly when I arrived. I was in a rush for an event and the front desk took care of all my check in arrangements. The only thing I didn’t like was the parking. There is street parking but the garage is $65. That’s absurd. The property itself is very worth staying and within walking / cheap uber distance to a lot of dining options and activities.
