Stayed 2 nights

We chose this B&B because of its excellent reviews and it's proximity to Volcano National Park. The manager was accommodating by letting us change our room to a larger one because we were 3 people. However there are quite a few things that went wrong: 1. our room wasn't air conditioned- it was hot in August 2. Promised daily breakfast- we got a basket of a few items but it wasn't re- filled on the second day- so we had to go out to buy breakfast on the second day. 3. Very noisy - we had to sleep with the windows open - due to no ac - very loud birds making noise all night. In addition at 4 am both nights a beeping started every minute- the manager said it was the gate. 4. No instructions about how to get provisions, ice, .... 5. They do not come in to tidy the room . You get a clean room when you arrive and that is it. As a result, we didn't sleep both nights we were there. They charged us over $600 for 2 nights and we feel it was a waste. This is a great place to stay if you’re exploring the Volcano area. Susan was wonderful and we had a delicious breakfast each morning. Our room was cozy and the property is beautiful.

Sue the property owner was so nice very helpful. She offered to make pancakes and sausage for breakfast which is our favorite. Not sure what else is on the menu, but we saw her cooking up some other items as well. It came with fresh local fruits and great coffee. We stayed in the Pele room which came with a separate kitchenette. I didn’t see a cooktop, but it had a nice size fridge, microwave, and small table and two chairs. We didn’t do any cooking but enjoyed the fridge, privacy, and the great coffee and coffee maker. The room was very nice and clean - very nicely decorated. 2 bathrooms and separate beds was a plus. Showers were not large but worked great for us (I am bit large and fit just fine). The room also has access to a decent sized covered deck. The deck is used by the two dogs; Coconut and Bear. We didn’t see them much but they were awesome and we were glad when we did. Grounds are great and location is very close to Volcano National Park.
