The amenity level vaults ROOST above lots of other comparable hotels: a large swimming pool, heated jacuzzi, viewing room with a huge TV, co-working space, free coffee, etc. Plus there are lots of thoughtful little details: a jug of fresh water in the fridge, folded pool towels, laundry detergent capsules to use in the machines included in your room, and Le Labo bath products!

This seems to be more of an extended stay than a hotel. Limited lobby with basic front desk and most of the guests seemed to have a dog, which I enjoyed because I love dogs. But it’s not the lobby bar, bellman, nice music you might expect for the price point. You are on your own with your luggage. Pat said, I found the room very comfortable and loved having a washer and dryer because I’ve been on the road for a week. There is a very nice and expansive pool deck, but no bartender at the bar when I was there. So it has like a zombie apocalypse feel. Everyone left and a few people moved in to enjoy it. Again, nothing at all wrong with the place that a few more staff couldn’t fix.

Although we only stayed 1 night, Roost was perfect for our needs. Clean, spacious rooms and great amenities. The coworking space, gym, and pool were particular standouts. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location is great— lots of stores and restaurants all in walking distance!

After weeks of looking for the perfect location for a few days in Tampa I decided to pick Roost. It's quiet, clean, and has everything you could need. The rooftop pool and shared areas are stunning. Look no further and we can't wait to return again.

Stellar location. Step right onto water street U limited food and bars and groceries. Amazing sized rooms - like renting a condo. We stayed in a 2bedroom. Front desk was fine. Parking is connected but costs extra. Excellent choice

Was a nice place for two, only issue was we found a q-tip and a contact lens on the floor near the front door in the room. Looks like the tried to clean the room but didn’t do a great Job at sweeping the floor. Location was great though, lots of restaurants walking distance from the hotel.

Contrary to marketing at time of room selection, room did not have any chairs or a desk; blinds were non-functional and poorly designed to block lights from surrounding buildings; while room was clean, common areas were filthy with food build-up and foul smells. It was a regretful experience staying at Roost.

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making check-in a breeze. However, the walls were quite thin, and we could hear our neighbors throughout the night, which disrupted our sleep. Additionally, the living room curtains were not blackout curtains, so light streamed in early in the morning. This would be especially problematic for anyone sleeping on the sofa bed. Speaking of which, the sofa did not convert into a bed as expected. We also requested bedding for our son and only received a pillow and duvet, with no sheet.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in a studio, and have mixed feelings about the place. On the one hand, it's in a great location with, lots of dining choices and walkable to a lot of other things; the place was super clean, both inside the unit and in the common areas; the bathroom was big; and, the kitchenette was very useful. However - (a) the bed was so miserably uncomfortable that we both hated sleeping there; (b) the front desk staff was either stupendously friendly or cold and unhelpful,depending on the the person; (c) the building sits directly across from another building, so they (and you) can see everything that's going on in the room, and there are no curtains or sheers, just a blackout shade that made the room depressing; and (d) every morning there was a new pile or two of dog poo on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. I can't say that we hated the place, but I don't think we would ever stay here again and probably would not recommend it.

Stumbled across this property and so glad I booked it! Stayed 6 nights with my husband to explore Tampa for the first time. This is an apartment style ‘Hotel’ with private residences on the higher floors. We hate staying in hotels for longer trips and so this was the perfect balance. The room had a full galley style kitchen, laundry in-suite, full size fridge—comfortable seating area and large bed with sliding pocket doors. It was too cold to use the pool during our stay but the outdoor area there is absolutely stunning-the pics don’t do it justice. We used the gym which was clean and spacious, then enjoyed a complimentary cup of coffee in the lounge area directly in front. Was able to walk nearly everywhere we needed which was great! Publix is conveniently located one block away from Roost as well as many charming eateries. I can’t wait to return here next time we are in the area.

Very clean. Updated, modern & in a nice area. If you book the studio room, you will share kitchen and living room spaces with other guests. Most of the staff were polite and helpful. A few were quite rude and not very accommodating. If you book the pay later option, you will be charged half 72 hours before arrival date and the rest a couple of hours before check in. $32 a night for parking.

The Roost is an upscale, long-term stay hotel which will also accomodate short stays (my stay was 3 nights). There are room options for studio-style apartment. 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom. My room was studio-style, which had a full-service kitchen and a stacked washer/dryer. I was very pleased with all aspects of my stay. Everything (appliances, room furnishings) appears new and everything works. The internet was fast and the cable television had an amazing array of offerings. The front desk/reception staff was friendly and helpful. There are many dining choices within a few blocks and an upscale market 1 block away. The Tampa convention center is a 10-12 minute walk. Do be warned that the Amalie Arena is 1 block away, and so on event nights there is a lot of traffic. However, on the 6th floor (with windows closed) there was no street noise, so this was not a problem.

We’ve stayed at this property before and it was amazing. This time we had a dorm like room with a shared common space with kitchen and living room. And 4 bedrooms. Doors shutting were loud, felt like I was staying in someone’s house. For $300 a night wanted something a little more private.

It was great having an apartment style room with full washer and dryer, kitchen, huge walk-in closet, and a number of other amenities. I would probably stay here again. However, the WiFi never worked (I did bring this up the last night but I understand why they couldn't fix it in time). Also the TV remote was only working half the time. Lastly it was pretty noisey in the hallway and even through the walls. Luckily I couldn't hear anything other than murmurs next door but I could hear people down the hallway as well as doors slamming constantly. I would give it another shot as the building was cool and right in the middle of the Channelside District which is very trendy and fun to walk around.

It could be that lady in front desk is new, but she did not seem interested in providing excellent care. Cards to access parking were not activated, gave us password for internet that was wrong. Overall, despite seemingly friendly, service provided was not the best she could have given

The staff was amazing, especially Ashley. She made us feel right at home. Definitely Roost Tampa is the place to stay when you’re here. We went on a week long cruise and when we returned, they remembered us by name and gave us an upgrade and early check in. This place is Amazing!!! And I highly recommend to everyone.

Front deck was rude when i was asking questions when i first was checking in, thankfully i didn’t that see that lady for the rest of my stay. The people i saw that front counter after my first day were great helped me and anything i needed and gave good recommendation's for food and spots to hang. The co living room walls are thin and can hear a lot if someone is loud and can hear doors closing and opening. The rooms were super clean and the cleaning staff was great! Will come back!

I had a wonderful stay at ROOST! It’s in the heart of Tampa, on the Bay. It was perfect, with lots of places for entertainment, food, and drink right outside. The Riverwalk was about two blocks away, which made it super easy to travel everywhere by foot. I’d recommend this to anyone planning a visit to Tampa!

Great place to stay for our quick trip to Tampa for a show at Amalie Arena, which was just a short walk away (less than 5 min). We stayed in a studio and it had plenty of great amenities, super clean, comfy bed, etc. Tons of restaurants nearby. Note that the rooms are located in an apartment/condo building, so there are also residents around. Only thing I wished it had was a floor length mirror for getting ready.

Stayed at Roost for a show at the Amelie Arena. Such a great location. Parked the car upon arrival and didn’t move it until we checked out. We were able to find delicious dining and shopping all with short walking distance from our accommodations. But mostly, we enjoyed being able to walk leisurely back from our show while everyone else was scrambling to get to their cars and not having to sit in traffic. The one bedroom junior suite was beautiful, squeaky clean, thoughtfully appointed and spacious. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with a cooktop, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The amenities on the 7th floor were very welcoming and clean. Enjoyed getting my coffee at the convenient coffee station complete with several kinds of dairy and non dairy creamers. Also enjoyed using the well equipped and clean gym. The only thing that might have been helpful would have been a notebook/folder with policies/recommendations for the hotel and area. All in all, we loved our stay at Roost and look forward to coming back.

Parking on the Archer building is tricky and they tell you so on the email received prior to checking in. I parked on the loading zone right in front of the hotel and someone brought me a key card and told me to park on level 6 and go through the glass door. Keep your cell phone accessible so you can call again because the access card doesn’t always work. Walls are paper thin… A suggestion to management is to change the mechanisms of your common area access doors because they slam instead of gliding closed. I woke up a few times in the middle of the night due to the slamming of doors. When I walked in to my designated floor and passed by the common kitchen area someone was cooking a whole dinner for himself and thankfully it smelled amazing but I can see how that might be off putting for others. All things considered , the accommodations are great, clean and I felt safe being a solo traveler.

Place is okay but it made me feel like I was in a hospital rm, bed mattress too firm as well as pillows. Claim to be modern but no usb connection for phone in the night stand, coffee maker but no cream or sugar startups (had to go to the 7th floor to find it) The place is good for one night or will have to bring everything, don’t forget the phone cube. For the price per night, it isn’t worth it. We travel a lot and room details is what makes the stay special.
