This was a nice hotel compared to others in the area. Rooms were clean and the decor was up to date. Size of room was nice. Check in was ok, you do have to wait until right at 4pm to get in. The grounds had a little bit of trash but for the most part were nice. Parking lot can be a tad challenging get in and out once it is full. We will gladly stay here again. It is not easy finding clean comfortable rooms in this area.

Check in was very easy and the room was clean. The only issue was that it was hotter than we would have liked and it was not possible to adjust the AC. Also- the pool is not working and that would have been to have known ahead of time. Otherwise the room was exactly as advertised.

Basic, clean room. Communications were excellent. The bed was soft (uncomfortably) and squeaked a lot! The sheets were paper thin. The walls are thin; I could hear our next door neighbors phone alerts. WIFI was not dependable. I know Mackinaw City is a tourist town but it is not a great value to pay $200/night (in September after the summer season with all fees/taxes included) for such a basic room. FYI the pool is closed due to storm damage. The sign gave the impression that it will not be being fixed any time soon.

The owner of this motel must be OCD. Everything was unusually clean and very well maintained. It’s an old style motel, small and one story, but appears to be brand new. Not having a breakfast was a little annoying but we found a great breakfast place near the ferries so turned out to be a plus. All the arrangements were done without personal contact with staff. That worked well for us but if you are a high maintenance person that could a problem. Don’t expect a lot of frills. Pool was permanently closed and we never saw a gym or laundry room. That was fine for a lower price. It was close to Wienerlicous a great hot dog place.

We never saw any staff at the motel. The check in and out process is all by way of the code for the door.Our room was tucked back into a corner of the motel. The parking was very crowded. We couldn't park near our room. We have a truck and so we parked out by the pool. The room was very clean.

We needed to stop last minute and the was available. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness. Its an older place but we were very happy. It was quiet, neat and clean. Very close to the bridge, easy on and off. Will definitely stay again when needed.

Blonde hairs were visible in my guestroom from previous visits. Rooms are not as clean as they could (and should!) be, especially given that this motel has a six hour gap between check-out and check-in of the next guest. Poor quality bath toiletries. Limited number of small, thin bath towels.

It seemed clean, I commented on it being clean a couple times. I took my shoes off, after walking across the room a couple timey feet were black, extremely dirty. Ohter than that it was great

There was a small refrigerator in the room. The room had a very strong smell of MOLD. There were 2 areas in front of the frig where the carpet was wet from leaking. Based on the smell and condition of the carpet in front of the frig it has been leaking and wet for MONTHS.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but the bathroom was too small and the shower was difficult for my elderly father to get into and he was afraid to fall in the shower. Also, the air conditioner wasn’t on when we got there and it was old and took a very long time for the temperature to lower. The refrigerator also was not on and took time for the temperature to lower to preserve food.

We liked the vintage feel of the rooms and very clean. I know it is an older motel, but really needs to be updated in the bathroom areas to make safer and more accessible for older people and those that have physical disabilities, especially with the toilets being so low to the ground. And unfortunately because of this we could not stay there again.

A great old school motel with some vintage features. The mattresses were comfortable and things were clean. And although it looked like the shower head was missing, it functioned just fine—good water pressure! There was a weird smell that dissipated a bit after we turned on the ceiling fan.

What a great place to end up at after a long, long day of driving. Since they do remote check-in, I called in while enroute to get my room number and door entry code, and the lady I chatted with was wonderful and friendly. I arrived late, and her directions, even telling me what parking spots would be open, was spot on. Room was clean, well kept and looked recently renovated. I slept great. It was pouring rain when I arrived so the roof overhang was a godsend when moving my gear into my room, keeping everything dry. Price was great, I would stay there again for sure, the next time I am in the area.

They don't have a typical motel office. They email your room number and door code before you arrive. It's actually pretty efficient. The room was nice, clean, walking distance to the ferry. We were very pleased with it.

I don’t understand the high rating for this motel. It is nothing special and now, remotely managed. When we got there our room door was wide open and the inside smelled of cigarette smoke and the bed of urine. The next night, we returned at 11 pm to find we were locked out. It took three times calling the remote manger’s number to get a person, to find out they had changed the combination. Not recommended.

I can't say enough about how happy we are to have discovered this great place. It is super clean, great location, walkable to the bridge, walkable to restaurants and other attractions, yet away from high traffic and crowds. Very convenient check in process! No hesitation on booking again, and in fact, can't wait for the next chance to do so!

We loved the Vindel! The furniture is a little dated, but that might add appeal for some people. It’s on easy bike ride to downtown Mackinaw City and the myriad of parks along the coasts. Would stay again.

Full of charm with a throwback vibe. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Perfectly located for exploring downtown Mackinaw or to catch a ferry to Mackinac Island. Loved that they send you a code and you don’t have check in. Made it stress free to get there on our schedule and walk right into the room. Highly recommend and will stay here again anytime we bring friends or family to see Mackinac.

Cute nice clean place to stay, it’s quiet around the Motel, rooms are simple and clean. Nice 10min walk to downtown Mackinaw City, 15min walk to the ferry. We enjoyed our stay !! They have virtual check in and check out which is awesome!

Very nice motel, very close within 5-20 mins walking distance to eat or to the ferry terminal. Can't hear the interstate thats 2 blocks away. Easy to get into and out of, light traffic on the main road. Good base camp if you are spending most of your time out and about.

Surprised by the good quality of my room. Totally new and modern room in an obviously old style roadside motel. They even provided an understandable guide to using the TV! The totally automated check in via emails worked perfectly. Never saw an actual human staff person while here which is why I downrated staff/service but I really have no complaints. For the low price I did not expect free breakfast but the in-room coffee system was just like any other motel. A family style restaurant is just 2 blocks away.

Cute nice clean place to stay, it’s quiet around the Motel, rooms are simple and clean. Nice 10min walk to downtown Mackinaw City, 15min walk to the ferry. We enjoyed our stay !! They have virtual check in and check out which is awesome!

The rooms we and our guests stayed in were very clean and comfortable. No complaints. Would have been nice to have a restaurant but no a major problem as there were some close by

Very nice motel, very close within 5-20 mins walking distance to eat or to the ferry terminal. Can't hear the interstate thats 2 blocks away. Easy to get into and out of, light traffic on the main road. Good base camp if you are spending most of your time out and about.

The owner of this motel must be OCD. Everything was unusually clean and very well maintained. It’s an old style motel, small and one story, but appears to be brand new. Not having a breakfast was a little annoying but we found a great breakfast place near the ferries so turned out to be a plus. All the arrangements were done without personal contact with staff. That worked well for us but if you are a high maintenance person that could a problem. Don’t expect a lot of frills. Pool was permanently closed and we never saw a gym or laundry room. That was fine for a lower price. It was close to Wienerlicous a great hot dog place.

Very clean for older motel. Comfortable bed. Lock box on the door was something new, but once I found the message about the code, everything went fine. Perfect location for Mackinaw City.
