Property was centrally located, easily accessible. Clean, updated, modern decor; nice hotel in a great location with a great view. Valet was the problem. First off, if their garage is full they’ll park your vehicle a couple blocks away in an unsecured parking lot (not sure if it’s monitored overnight but I doubt it). That isn’t why I paid what I did for valet. If I was ok with my car being parked in an open, off-property facility I would’ve parked it myself. Then the valet failed to put my truck in park somehow and my battery died overnight. That valet came running back up to me and made me go get my vehicle myself. I had to get my truck jumpstarted via my insurance company and it made us late for our plans. At least they refunded me my valet, and they refunded my room, just buyer beware.

Staff were amazing & friendly. Although there is no resturant there is a shop you can buy drink / food and the bar serve hot light bites. Enjoyed use of pool & loungers though there is no shade.

Stayed at the Aloft due to proximity of the events we were in town for. Great location and views of the riverwalk. We were looking forward to enjoying the pool area since it was such a hot weekend! To our disappointment, the pool was FILTHY...completely brown and there was even caution tape tied to the railing. Also came home to our first day there, and our room was never even touched. No notice that they would not be there daily, or we would have planned accordingly. Hallways were extremely hot & humid - luckily our room was not. Would have to be a good deal to consider the hotel again.

The Aloft is in an excellent downtown location. It's clean, and the décor is hip and fun. The staff was super friendly. The price is right. An area of improvement for this Aloft would be the pool deck. The travertine pavers around the pool are dangerously hot. They also need more shade/umbrellas.

Other than unreasonably expensive overnight parking, the stay was excellent. Hotel is right next to the Riverwalk, and a short walk to Hyde Park and UT. Nice place.

Unfortunately when booking it didn’t mention all the construction occurring at hotel. Hotel bar was basically a stand but they didn’t offer any discounts for inconvenience. Staff was wonderful and accommodating.

Great location and wonderful stay. The only reason it wasn’t a perfect stay is that the pool was being updated during our stay and the only option for parking is through valet and unfortunately lost our keys for a few hours. Other than that the hotel is beautiful and the location makes it easy to get around.

Location excellent. Staff friendly. But. Paid extra for River view. Only view of the river was from the toilet. Room not clean. Grey stains dripping down bathroom wall. “Cafe” had only refrigerated food and no microwave there or in room - or even on our floor! Heat/AC glitchy. Set to 72 would go up once - then back to 62. Saturday afternoon they played extremely loud booming music by pool. Shook the room. “Closet” rod wasn’t even a foot long. No night lights. Only glaring overhead lights in bathroom. Had to pay $44/day for parking. The battery in our brand new car was completely dead when we picked it up. They had parked it and left it running.

Overall the experience was decent, customer service was very good and efficient. Our biggest concern was our room, it had a very strong and unpleasant chemical smell and not everything was cleaned decently. There were some stains here and there in the vanity area, and the coffee maker itself had a used coffee pod/bag from the last residents I would presume. Also there is no self-parking options, the only parking available being valet which charged $40 tax a night, but then again it being in the middle of downtown it's somewhat understandable. I had only wished the room was a tad bit more cleaner.

The staff at Aloft were amazing! Unfortunately our room had a strong odor the entire stay. They did deodorize it twice, but it didn't help much. The carpets were very stained in the room and in the hallway. With the amazing staff they have, I know the other issues will be resolved and they will have a magnificent place!

Staff friendly, room wasn’t as clean as should have been ( popcorn in corner of room from someone else), would have liked a freezer in the fridge, trash can had no liner and face cloth not replaced. Bed very comfortable, room temp great, breakfast sandy great, nice and quiet and valet staff very sweet

Just stay somewhere else. The rooms are not cleaned regularly, and some even smell like sewage. They keep the air cold, so you don't notice the essence of mold and mildew. The "remodel" left bathroom with poor drainage, shower doors that don't close, and more mold than your home tile. Not to mention unexpected charges for a "fuel station" that you probably won't touch with a 10-foot pole.

It was my birthday I ask to see if we could possibly get an upgrade we were told we have the best room available the rooms are INCREDIBLY small you can't tell from pictures so if that was the best than all the room are just way to small... Location is what you're paying for at this hotel staff is nice but parking seems to be only valet available and that 42$ daily..

One very small window that looks outside to a concrete wall. Tiny room with all grey walls. No drawer to put your clothes away. Bad creamer in room to make coffee. Guest coffee in dining area is empty. Cleaning service had no extra towels. Water was hot thankfully and decent shower

Overall, it was a good stay. It was just overnight for a concert, and we were close to the venue which was great. They upgraded us to a suite which was nice. But the room set up was a little weird. There were two big concrete columns in the room and where they positioned the tv, you couldn't see it with column in front, and it was at an angle to the second bed. The lights were a pain. Just three switches on the wall in the middle of the room near bathroom. No lamp by the bed at all. The shower curtain proved to be the biggest issue, as it wasn't vinyl/plastic, but flimsy fabric and when I took a shower, water flooded the bathroom floor. But I could not figure out how to just run the water for a bath either. I ended up putting the shower head in the tub and letting it fill that way. Crazy. The hotel does have a great vibe and aesthetic. No restaurant though. A small menu at the bar, and I ordered the flatbread which was delicious. Everyone working there was pleasant and eager to help. Valet service was great as well.

They cancelled my reservation without even notifying me. My wife and kids arrived after traveling all day and they turned us away. I had made these reservations months ago. So terribly disappointing. The staff at hotel was snarky and mean spirited.

Me and my friend had such a good time at aloft. The staff were amazing and at the end there was confusion when I checked out, I got charged for a night at the hotel even though I already paid through Expedia. The lady at the front desk (I wish I remembered her name) immediately remedied the situation and refunded my money. Can’t recommend this hotel and location enough! Thank you for a great weekend in Tampa!

Front desk representatives were rude! They didn’t say a word to us at check in until they had to tell us that the room we reserved was overbooked and that there was nothing they could do about it. I asked if we would be refunded the difference and they said it could take weeks and it “was only $50.” So after going back and forth with them, we agreed to a $50 bar credit. We go to the bar and guess what? Bar is closed. THEN, I see a $268 charge on my bank account for a smoking fee the day after we checked out. We never smoked in that room and I’m still having to fight them to have this falsely charged fee given back to us. I have no problem paying for a fee that we owe however, we would never smoke in a hotel room! I can’t making this stuff up - it was the most ridiculous hotel experience we’ve ever had and their claim to make things right if your stay isn’t 10/10 is a complete lie.

We liked the unconventional setup of the room and the overall modern look and feel of it. The area around the hotel was extremely noisy with cars and motorcycles loudly revving engines and racing up and down the main road nearly all day and night. The room was fairly soundproof but not totally. Also, on the second night there was a large leak from the room above and several calls to the front desk unanswered. The leaking finally subsided but without response from the front desk or management. No one seemed to care very much. But that seems to be the overall attitude of the Marriott Corporation as of late.

Staff needs training. Completed early registration day prior. Front desk unable to find reservations upon arrival. Tried to send me to another hotel. Room was not ready until 4:45pm. Credit card reader malfunction. Fire alarm activated at 8am. Upon evacuation staff had no clue what was happening and front desk said it was a false alarm. Different by design.

We chose Aloft Tampa Downtown for it's proximity to the Amalie Arena. It was very walkable and a nice property. Our room had a beautiful view of the river. We'd absolutely stay here again. Everyone was very friendly and check in and out was quick and easy.

Aloft had a cool, funky vibe. Lots of original artwork everywhere (except the rooms, which were devoid of anything on the walls), and a nice atmosphere for sitting in the lobby area. The staff were attentive and friendly. It was nice to be right on the RiverWalk and across from U Tampa. I’d definitely stay here again if my kid ends up attending U Tampa.

The Aloft Hotel alone is amazing a home within a home. The games and activities you can play with your friends and family. The Bar was a vibe within itself, Ron the Bartender is a great and fun guy, he kept the entertainment going for sure. We loved every bit about the time we were there and we will most definitely be back

I wish the food kiosk in lobby had not run out of milk and yogurt. If ALoft is part of Marriot I’m surprised you couldn’t get some sent over from the Marriot a few blocks away. I like the complimentary coffee in lobby.

Lots of wear and tear. Not super clean. Management is rude and unprofessional but regular staff was great. Our room wasn’t ready until well after we arrived, even passed their own check in time. Told us the restaurant/bar opened at 5 to keep us busy while we waited for our room… wasn’t even getting ready to open after 5.

This property is not worth the rate . We were advised through site we would have a microwave in room, restaurant on site , and self park $10 day. This was not the case . The bar/ restaurant only offered chicken fingers and pretzels, we had no choice to self park valet only 40 a night. In addition the microwave was located down the hallway by the ice machine it was very dirty . Also the king room did not have a dresser or even shelves In room to in pack clothes only a closet but no drawers or shelves for clothing . I would not recommend this nor stay there again
