Thistlebank Townhouse

A large period property in a good location. Finding the street you need to get to the car park isn't straight-forward and it would have been far better if directions had been provided in advance. We were in one of the attic rooms, which meant quite a few steep stairs but that was fine & the room had an excellent view of the Abbey. The room itself was lacking - there were only 4 coat-hangers, the cold tap in the bathroom didn't work at all, and the shower mixer wasn't easy to work either. The room had a flat TV but the TV wasn't connected to the Wi-Fi & therefore SMART options were not available. The pillows were poor, and the sofa had seen much better days too. The property had a strong smell of weed which isn't what anyone would expect to encounter. Alas, for all the above reasons, and despite the good location, this isn't somewhere we would stay again.

The place was great, the house is lovely and the rooms are very spacious. The owner was on hand to help out where needed, showed us around and where everything was (a separate room with a fridge if you needed it). There are a few spaces for parking at the back which is very convenient. It's a few minutes walk to the centre and there is plenty to do. Would definitely recommend

Super central location with parking! Rooms are huge, light, bright & airy just what was needed in a heat wave! Hosts extremely knowledgeable & helpful. Beds comfy - both slept soundly. Beautiful bathroom & awesome waterfall shower!

Convenient location, great parking, I was surprised how much room there was. I have a large car and expected to have trouble squeezing it in, but no such problems. Amazing old building with some great period features and a large well kept garden.

Beautiful huge room, recently refurbished. Very comfy bed, friendly host who creates a relaxed personable atmosphere. Ideally located, with parking which is a big bonus in Whitby!
