Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Boston Cambridge

It seems the property is insufficiently staffed. There was no bartender available, the staff working the front desk had to leave their post to open the bar and sell refreshments.

Not enough parking spots. Spaces are very tight and narrow.

What i like: consistent Marriott standards of quality What i did not like: the $40 parking fee for on site parking. The level 2 charger for EV is nice, but there is only one!!!!

I think the parking fee is ridiculous. This needs to be made more clear as part of the booking.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great if you need to get to the TD Garden for an event. It's just two stops away on the train. The bar did not have a bartender, so it wasn't open. Overall it's a good hotel.

I did not like that. In addition to our room price there was a $40 parking fee. Isn’t parking normally included in all hotels stays? And, There was no room in the parking lot, so we had to park in an adjacent lot with horrible lighting. In the event you are forced to park in this said lot, ask for an escort.

It's always helpful to have easy parking available onsite, even though it's costly. The free breakfast buffet was very nice but not in a good location. It's too crowded and in a nook that is not laid out well.

We entered our room that had a severe odor from a carpet cleaning disinfectant. Our eyes were watering and our clothes smelled of the cleaner only after 5mins in the room. We left immediately and found an other hotel. We asked for a refund which was not granted by the hotel!!! Hotels.com would not refund us either. I’ve been with hotels.com for a decade. I won’t continue.

The room was not cleaned once during our 3 night stay. We were told it would be cleaned every two days. They had no towels and they could not give us towels because we arrived back late. Pails were filled. Very disappointing

Very convenient to transportation. Room and public spaces were clean and staff was responsive and helpful.

Everything was great, however the room was cleaned only one day, because we specifically requested cleaning services. We ran out of soap and we had to request it to the front desk

The primary complaint is that our bedroom smelled like feet. It was very unpleasant.

Common room was nice. Room had leftover toothpaste from the previous person and a aerosol bottle of hair product from the previous person. The tv didnt work and the fridge was warm and needed to be replaced.

Clean & convenient

Super clean and comfortable hotel. Nice bed, linens, breakfast—no complaints. I’d definitely recommend. Oh, and it was reasonably priced when compared to similar properties.

Extremely limited parking. $40 a night to park there. The T runs right next to the hotel at all hours of the day and night. Not the hotel's fault, but good to know if you're planning on getting sleep at this hotel. One of the TV's didn't work for half the trip and we were told "too bad" on night one, and then when they texted to say how's your stay I said well there's a weird tapping noise on the wall, the people on either side of us were screaming until 3AM, and one of our TVs in our "suite" doesn't work. They came and fixed it by taking the box off of another TV because they were "no longer full".

Room was rather nice. Bed was comfortable. But had the lowest water pressure on any shower I have ever dealt with at a hotel (and I've had some bad ones). Also, was directly next to the green line. Like, the train practically rocks the building. Coffee machine in room was broken. TV interface was barely responsive and TV quality was low.

The woman at the front desk was very helpful in guiding us in getting to the Sox game via the T. But once in the room it was very noisy with the heavy footed people above us, the rattling AC unit, the revving cars on the road (and hard pillows) Staff were all very nice and seemed like they enjoyed being there. Breakfast was terrific!

The staff was very nice. The room lacked space (closet walls, about 9 inches wide and had a ironing board in it), no, UBS outlets to charge the phone/iPad/etc.

The train is right by the hotel and can keep you up at night

The hotel was very clean and felt quite modern, although my room was just big enough for the 2 queen beds and not much else. The breakfast bar was one of the better ones I've had. There were not a ton of dining options nearby, but I did happen across a couple nice restaurants on the last night of my stay.

The hotel and the room were very clean and convenient for what we needed for seeing a show at the TD Garden. The road noise and thin walls were not great since we could hear everything including housekeeping talking in the next room. The gentleman who checked us in was not warm or welcoming. He also ran my card (improperly as I watched) and then said it declined. I then entered it and it went through fine. The woman who checked us out had more of a warm personality and at least said good morning and asked how our stay was.

Strange design of rooms. Noisy train rails are very close.

Had to request towels and took a long time to get them delivered to the room. Room service should be granted without having to ask for it.

Got 3 security deposits taken out during my 1 night stay, not including parking. twice during checkout. Manager did not seem inclined to help. Kept saying the issue wasn’t popping up on the computer screen. I asked multiple times what we could do to solve the issue. No solution was told. I told her I would call the supervisor when there in on Tuesday 2/21. Because I was overcharged I have overdraft fees that cost more than the stay at the hotel itself cost. After I finished checking out, another group of people who stayed told me all morning people have been overcharged. Which is confusing because the manager acted like nothing was wrong or going on. Hotel was clean and service was good until check our. Woman who worked the front desk was nice, but the manager did nothing of the manager sort. Told me her “computer says I haven’t been charged.” I showed her that $20 was taken out when I showed up. At midnight the hotel emailed me saying $20 got taken out again. And then when I checked out $16.71 came out. They told me I wasn’t being charged they were security deposits. Either way I told them I’m getting hit with multiple deposits when I should only have 1 $20 deposit! So now $140 later of overdraft happened with my bank because 4 separate unnecessary transactions happened with this hotel.

Front desk staff were very friendly and attentive and offered some great nearby recommendations for dinner and drinks.

I’ll absolutely give 5 star rating! I left my laptop on the bed when I checked out. The staff cleaning the room ran to the lobby and handed it to me. I can’t be more grateful to her! Wonderful team!

When I arrived the room was prepaid for but Fairfield said they had to hold $60 for incidentals. I get a message from my bank I have 3 charges from Fairfield. 1 charge of $60 and 2 charges for $225.00. I asked to have charges released because they charged me twice. They only released a hold on one of charges for $225.00. It’s just inconvenient while traveling and room was prepaid for and I’m getting hit with an additional $285.00 for one night.

The room was clean and comfortable, especially the bed. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. Checkin was quick. You can hear the subway go by often, but it was not too loud. Ask for a room on the road side. It may reduce the sound. The breakfast was also good with a lot of choices.

First time in Boston area. Really loved the city. We were visiting some colleges in Cambridge and found this small Fairfield Inn relatively convenient -- walkable to M.I.T and an easy train ride to Harvard from MIT. Train station was within a 5 minute walk for rides into Boston. Grocery store not a far walk either. I've always found Fairfield Inns affordable without compromising any cleanliness or safety. Internet connection was no problem here. Plus, I always love the complimentary buffet breakfast with plenty of hot food, fruit and cereals/yogurts. More choices than I could eat in one breakfast.

Nicely located if going to TD Garden

Right near the train station and a 15 minute walk to a new mall. Very convenient, Rooms were clean and staff was welcoming

We enjoyed our stay. You have a very good location for us. Near the T so we could get to our destinations without a problem.

Great location

The hotel is in a great location in Central Cambridge and is easy to get around Boston, less then two block from the Lechmere Station. The customer service was great and was able to check in early. They have white noise machines in the room. Included breakfast was very satisfying and provided lots of quality options: fruits, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, bagels, scrambled eggs, sausages, bagel bites, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, etc. Walgreen, Dollar Tree, and Star Market about three blocks away.

Excellent location for traveling into Boston and into Cambridge by trainer bus. The terminal was two blocks away. The Boston Metro system is very easy safe and clean to use.

Was a great location to take the Boston T for Fenway Park and other destinations. Checked in was a breeze, especially nice after an 8 hour drive. Our room was on the road side so was pretty quiet at night. Back side of hotel has the subway tracks but another couple that stayed with us said it wasn't a problem. Everyone loved the breakfast, all pre packaged though but that's every hotel now. Only negative would be the $40 dollars per night to park. We would stay here again.

Breakfast was poor with tasteless waffles. Potatos were soggy and overcooked. Egg on bread rounds barely edible. Coffee excellent.
