The whole guest house is beautiful! Our room was very nice and the kitchen was big and well equipped to make a simple meal. The guests took turns making morning coffee for everyone!

Die Unterkunft ist sehr individuell eingerichtet. Die Küche kann gemeinschaftlich genutzt werden. Die Lage ist super, man kann alles zu Fuß machen. Das Personal ist super freundlich! Unser Zimmer lag zur Straße und es war recht laut.

The staff who I talked to all throughout my stay were nice and friendly! My room and the separate bathroom were clean. I thought my room was nicely decorated too. The guesthouse has a balcony around the corner from the kitchen. Nice place to just relax after a day of exploring the city centre. I was able to use the washer and dryer to clean some of my clothes as I still had other destinations to go during my trip. Because it\'s a guesthouse, it\'s different from a hotel. It actually felt like I was staying in a house in Lisbon so this was a nice "Lisbon experience". The location is not bad (about 20 mins walk from TimeOut Market). There is a bus stop right in front of the guesthouse so that was good. The only thing I would maybe do differently next time is reserve a room that has its own bathroom inside the suite. One evening I drank too much liquids and kept having to go in/out of my room to use the private bathroom reserved for me. So it was kind of annoying having to walk across the hallway and try not to disturb the other guests. The only con is the dryer wasn\'t good. Even after a few hours, some of my clothes were still wet and I had to hang them inside my room. Overall, nice guesthouse! I recommend staying here.

The hosts provided an amazing atmosphere and a beautiful, clean accommodation! There was a shared kitchen which was impeccably clean and had everything one might need and some goodies on top. The room was beautiful and also really quiet despite being in the city centre, making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day and night out in Lisbon

Going back to House Sao Bento felt like going back home after a long day of exploration! Spacious room, comfortable bed and kitchen available for a quick coffee and breakfast. Location is remote enough to feel outside of the tourist trap but close enough thanks to the 28 tram that runs nearby. Highly recommend !

La chambre avec salle de bain privée est telle que décrite dans l’annonce. Ce sont les voisins supérieurs qui faisaient du bruit entre 22h et 1h. Le propriétaire m’a dit que j’aurais pu lui envoyer un message à n’importe quelle heure. Néanmoins, j’ai apprécié mon séjour.

We really enjoyed our stay was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who was very kind gave us a tour of the place told us all the important information that we needed to know. It was just a great place to stay would highly recommend you can use the kitchen we had a lovely room the bed was so comfortable. A very nice and safe neighbourhood don’t forget the comfortable shoes you will need them. Overall we really enjoyed our time here 😊

Booked an ensuite room at House Sao Bento for 5 nights. got a call from them on morning of departure advising as we were arriving late there would be no-one to let us in, fair enough, they said I would get a text shortly with details to gain access, also fair enough. Afternoon flight and still waiting for access details, called them and was told would be within the hour, nothing sent until about 6pm, presumably when 'reception' was closing. On landing in Lisbon text came through with details of access codes, and details of 'private bathroom across corridor from the kitchen' not an ensuite, it was late so had to go there. On arrival got in and found the bedroom allocated, no en-suite (I had paid extra for) and not even the key for the private bathroom across the corridor I had meant to be allocated. When I saw a couple of ladies from an adjacent room using the 'allocated bathroom' I asked them, they told me they had also paid for an ensuite and when they complained they were given the key for the one we were promised!!! The public bathroom shared with everyone on the floor was basic, shower didn't fir on the holder on the wall, so you had to hold it to shower. Place is more like a hostel, which is fine if that is what you expect and pay for. We left after the first night and have lodged a complaint with hotels.com, I will also be arranging a chargeback if they do not refund the unused nights, as it was not what was advertised, but NO ensuite, and no staff onsite even next day

Erg vriendelijk en gastvrij ontvangen. De kamer viel wat tegen, hadden een kamer met gedeelde badkamer. Helaas is er geen goede houder om de douchekop in vast te zetten en mis je wat gemak in de badkamer. En de kamer was erg klein en ongezellig (komt niet overeen met de afbeeldingen). De locatie is fantastisch en de overige faciliteiten in het guesthouse zijn erg goed.

This is a lovely and very unique place. It is very different from staying in a hotel, it’s a guest house with a nice communal feel but not over the top. There’s a really well equipped communal kitchen with some food and drink provided. Outside my room was a small communal balcony, which was really lovely as the French doors of my room op Ed onto it. It was a smoking area but fortunately not many people smoked, but if they did or if there were people spending a lot of time there or being noisy it would feel a bit imposing. Luckily the place seemed to attract quiet and respectful guests. Earplugs may be good if you’re a light sleeper, just from corridor noise if people are up early. The area itself was lovely and peaceful and a nice park and a few great bars and restaurants very nearby.

didn’t specify anywhere that it was a share house, expected it to be a hotel however had to share a bathroom with countless random people. upon arrival there were no staff members to show us around or give us a key. We only saw a staff member on our second last day. if we knew it was a share house, we would have stayed in a hotel.
didn’t specify anywhere that it was a share house, expected it to be a hotel however had to share a bathroom with countless random people. upon arrival there were no staff members to show us around or give us a key. We only saw a staff member on our second last day. if we knew it was a share house, we would have stayed in a hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who was very kind gave us a tour of the place told us all the important information that we needed to know. It was just a great place to stay would highly recommend you can use the kitchen we had a lovely room the bed was so comfortable. A very nice and safe neighbourhood don’t forget the comfortable shoes you will need them. Overall we really enjoyed our time here 😊

Les points positifs : une très bonne situation, un prix convenable, un lit très confortable. Les points négatifs : l'endroit est beaucoup moins cool que ne le fait croire le site internet, ma chambre, au rez-de-chaussée, donnant juste sur un arrêt de bus. Dans la catégorie, j'ai cru réserver une chambre de 24 m2, c'est ce qu'indique le site, j'ai dû mal lire, car ma chambre n'était franchement pas grande - c'est énervant. Je passe sur l'odeur de renfermé dans la salle d'eau dans le couloir, et le bruit, surtout intérieur pour le coup : les ébats dans la chambre d'à côté, la java à l'étage au-dessus, et les autres clients tentant d'ouvrir la porte avec un code capricieux. Enfin, une communication erratique par mail avec le personnel, vu que la réception n'est (théoriquement) ouverte que de 9h30 à 14h30 (elle ne l'était pas quand je suis arrivé à 13h30) - Ca a été en particulier très, très compliqué de savoir où je pouvais laisser ma valise pendant quelques heures en partant. Et stressant. Bref, franchement décevant !

Booked an ensuite room at House Sao Bento for 5 nights. got a call from them on morning of departure advising as we were arriving late there would be no-one to let us in, fair enough, they said I would get a text shortly with details to gain access, also fair enough. Afternoon flight and still waiting for access details, called them and was told would be within the hour, nothing sent until about 6pm, presumably when 'reception' was closing. On landing in Lisbon text came through with details of access codes, and details of 'private bathroom across corridor from the kitchen' not an ensuite, it was late so had to go there. On arrival got in and found the bedroom allocated, no en-suite (I had paid extra for) and not even the key for the private bathroom across the corridor I had meant to be allocated. When I saw a couple of ladies from an adjacent room using the 'allocated bathroom' I asked them, they told me they had also paid for an ensuite and when they complained they were given the key for the one we were promised!!! The public bathroom shared with everyone on the floor was basic, shower didn't fir on the holder on the wall, so you had to hold it to shower. Place is more like a hostel, which is fine if that is what you expect and pay for. We left after the first night and have lodged a complaint with hotels.com, I will also be arranging a chargeback if they do not refund the unused nights, as it was not what was advertised, but NO ensuite, and no staff onsite even next day

Going back to House Sao Bento felt like going back home after a long day of exploration! Spacious room, comfortable bed and kitchen available for a quick coffee and breakfast. Location is remote enough to feel outside of the tourist trap but close enough thanks to the 28 tram that runs nearby. Highly recommend !

Amazing place to stay in Lisbon. It’s a guest house but they offer rooms with private bathrooms and the rooms are as comfortable and spacious as any hotel room. They have a big kitchen where you they offer plenty of breakfast items free of charge. The location is prefect. Just few steps from tram 28 that takes you everywhere in the old town. And less than 2 minutes away from Preco- a big grocery store. Would definitely stay there again next time I’m in Lisbon. Ten out of ten

Nous avons séjourné une nuit avant notre retour pour prendre l’avion mais Josua bons adorée tout tout de cette chambre dans une jolie maison! Nous aurions pu y passer plusieurs jours sans contredit. Pedro est un hôte super! Parles français en plus c’est un bel ajout. C’est bien situé dans un quartier pas trop touriste de Lisbonne mais en même temps ça se fait bien à pied disons le Time Out Market est à 25 minutes à pied Nous y retournerions sans contredit Merci

Esta guest house fica muito bem localizada na Calçada da Estrela. Cama super limpa e confortável, atendimento presente e gentil e cozinha onde se pode preparar café da manhã e inclusive eles oferecem alguns itens básicos como pó de café, pão, frutas e geleia. Voltarei quando tiver a oportunidade.

This is a lovely and very unique place. It is very different from staying in a hotel, it’s a guest house with a nice communal feel but not over the top. There’s a really well equipped communal kitchen with some food and drink provided. Outside my room was a small communal balcony, which was really lovely as the French doors of my room op Ed onto it. It was a smoking area but fortunately not many people smoked, but if they did or if there were people spending a lot of time there or being noisy it would feel a bit imposing. Luckily the place seemed to attract quiet and respectful guests. Earplugs may be good if you’re a light sleeper, just from corridor noise if people are up early. The area itself was lovely and peaceful and a nice park and a few great bars and restaurants very nearby.

The staff make this place shine more than anything else. The rooms are clean and the simple food options they provide are perfect; fresh coffee, fruits, bread, jams and occasionally a baked offering would appear in the kitchen. A great place to stay if visiting Lisbon and i’ll definitely be back.

Exactly as it looks in pictures. We stayed in the private room with private external bathroom. The room and washroom were in excellent condition and very clean. Pedro communicated information timely and thoroughly about the check in and out process. The area doesn’t have much touristic sights nearby but there are many yummy restaurants within walking distance and the area felt safe.

This place is a unexpected gem. It's out of the main cities area downtown, so very quiet. But just a couple of minutes walk from a wonderful restaurant area. Then another 10 minute walk or short bus/tram ride and you're in the main downtown area.
