The customer service is top-notch. We arrived about half an hour early to drop off our bags, but the front staff checked and let us know that our room was ready! Special shoutout to the door staff as well, since they were always helpful with our questions. The pictures on the website are accurate, both in terms of the common areas and the double queen room that we had booked. The hotel is in a great location, with easy walking access to downtown and other amenities. The bus stop going to the mall and Memorial University is also very close. The gym was excellent and beyond my expectations. It was spacious and had both cardio and weight machines. The windows were large, which allowed natural light to come in. Although I did run outside once, I used the gym several times during my stay. It was always clean. We also enjoyed our meal at Exile restaurant, which is located on the first floor. The cafe downstairs also had a solid assortment of hot drinks, although some of the croissants sold out pretty quickly. Highly recommended!

This is a “hip hotel” in downtown St John’s. Lots of music memorabilia. Seem fixated with the Stones and Debbie’s Harry! Multiple lounges. Two buildings. It is clean and modern hotel, with good size rooms and friendly staff. Staff is friendly but seem a little green. Our room service was not consistent - forgot to replace coffee pods one day, forgot hand towels another day. Could use some better training. I think this hotel tries a little too hard to be so hip; regardless, it is a good place to stay in downtown St. John’s. One criticism is that there were no bars in the hotel that had televisions, so one had to go to a different bar venue to watch sports, or watch from one’s room. I think the hotel is losing a lot of business with this oversight. Valet Parking was available for reasonable $19 per day. The downtown core is only a few blocks from the hotel and is pretty sketchy area at night, so i would recommend taking the valet service. It was fast and friendly.

The food at Jimmy’s wasn’t great, for the status of the hotel expectation were higher. Getting around the hotel was very confusing, found other guests in hallways that were also lost. More signage is needed, “Revival Room” does not clearly indicate that the pool is located there. Room service was great and the staff were excellent. Beautiful decor overall.

Huge room and bathroom, very clean! Beautiful spa, pool, hot tub and sauna area. The bar on the 8th floor had a great vibe as well. Would definitely stay here again!

Our room washroom could use a good cleaning. Mold on the bottom floor in the grout and the shower head could be new. Hard not to get water on the floor when showering as well. Made it extra to clean so you would not slip and fall on tile

Check in time is 4 PM room not available or ready until almost 600 PM. No apology offered.Poor communication between management and staff when addressing any concerns. Rooms are very dark and dreary, our shower was moldy. Cleaning service was subpar as there was many times we would come home from a day of being out and would have to call down as the rooms have not been cleaned, bed have not been made up and bathroom not cleaned. Our concerns were brought up to management in regarding the housekeeping services. Management offered us a free breakfast and even that got screwed up, when we went to have our breakfast, they had no reservations and again we had to go to management. Very disappointed would not recommend.

The JAG is a well appointed upscale hotel decorated with lots of rock and roll portraits of musicians which lends a cool, fun vibe to the place along with high quality music speakers throughout the common spaces. I had dinner one night at Exile, and I liked the food and top notch service. The JAG is right on the St. John's harbor and in the evening there are homeless people and other unsavory druggies hanging outside. I felt unsafe when a man approached me IN THE LOBBY and panhandled me for money which was shocking. It made me uneasy thinking that guy had open access to the elevators because they are not key carded for security. In addition I found housekeeping to be lackluster. After i used the makeup removal cloth on night 1, it was never replaced even though I was there for 5 nights. I requested that my sheets not get tucked in -- which was totally ignored, every night. I would strongly advise the hotel to remove the disgusting dental floss dispenser with nasty floss hanging down which I have never seen in any hotel before and for good reason. It grossed me out. The ice maker on my floor was out of order, and even after requesting that ice get delivered on night one (which they did quickly and efficiently) the ice maker stayed out of order for the full 5 days. Very nice touches included JAG slippers as well as a JAG chocolate bar. Overall the JAG strives to be a high quality hotel and succeeds in many. ways, but they slip on the little details.

Hotel has very nice interior and in a great location right beside bars and restaurants. Housekeeping is very attentive and the pool and gym area look very clean. Negatives: very poor ventilation in the older side hotel we stayed in. There was a large amount of mold in our shower that was gross and when discussed with front desk, they didn’t seem to care. Also didn’t enjoy the hotel room service.

The stay was incredible! Really enjoyed the location and the room. There was a blood stain on the duvet that I noticed in the morning and there was a smoke detector outside the room that was beeping all night but overall really enjoyed the stay.

The bed was comfortable. The lack of parking was horrible, the cold water tap was falling off, we couldnt get the A/C to work probably, one part of the room was cold and the other part was warm. We were only there for one night, so it was ok with us! Other than that, we had an overall good time.

Our room didn't have an outside window! It faced an indoor art gallery! So weird! Wanted to leave room immediately but nothing was available. Had to leave hotel a day early due to sudden family emergency. Didn't get any money back and never even got an email apologizing that maybe they couldn't do anything.

The room was nice and we had a good view. The heater didn't work very well and the pillows were really puffy, with no other options. Bar and front door staff were very nice. We had very loud neighbours 3 nights in a row and one night the fire alarm went off three times. The hotel is beautiful but it seems the party never ends.

Awesome decor around the property. We opted for the Harbourview King and ended up in the "old" tower on the third floor. Our "view" was a wall of shipping containers, so definitely not worth the upgrade.

I have stayed here many times but this was the first time on the "new" side. The rooms were much smaller and there was know water or treats to purchase in the room? disappointing ! Room was clean and valets were excellent !!

Terrible experience. Upon arrival, after the published check in time, the queue to check in at the front desk was very long and took 45 mins to get to the desk to actually check in. At that point we were advised the rooms were not actually ready and was told we'd have to wait 5-10 minutes. After 40 minutes I decided to inquire again, and the room still wasn't ready. Finally we received the room keys over an hour and a half after arriving at the hotel. We then had to proceed outside to get to the older, original JAG building (yes the front desk is in the new building). Albeit the two buildings are connected by pedway but not at ground level where the front desk is. We were given complimentary breakfast coupons for our troubles and were advised to give them ot the server at the restaurant before ordering. So, we proceed to the onsite restaurant early the next morning only to be turned away because "reservations are mandatory", although there were plenty of open tables but for some reason they couldn't sit my wife and I. This was our second bad experience in a row at JAG, thus we will not be returning. There are plenty of better options in the downtown area that actually have ample parking as well, rather than expecting you to park in onstreet city parking a km away from the hotel.

The hotel was very unique. Very clean. It was unfortunate that children are only allowed to swim from 9-11am. The pool is meant for adult fitness and leisure only. We had a very early morning flight and we told the valet upon check in that we would be leaving at 5am. We went down and vehicle not ready, the front desk paged the staff and we waited 20 min for someone to bring our vehicle, even though it was right across the street, we could see our truck. Then all 3 valet gentlemen stood in the doorway watching us load in a families worth of luggage, like we were inconveniencing their morning. Too bad.

Check in took over an hour. Front desk kept answering calls and giving unnecessary information to guest (for example children pool hours for someone who confirmed they had no children). Maybe had 12-15 people infront of us for checkin and it took over an hour to get our keys. We had stopped in at the hotel at 4pm (check in time ) and saw a line and decided to come back at 4:40 pm to give it time to die down. Did not get into the room until almost 6.

The Jag Hotel is a unique property with a music related theme. The hotel is clean and comfortable but the staff are in need of something to do as they are consistently leaning over desks and tables scrolling on their phones. The service was slow and inattentive in the restaurant and the coffee bar staff appeared completely bored. Check in was also extremely slow.

Easy check in, valet parking and room change was excellent. The room was spotless, comfortable and beautifully decorated. All staff we interacted with were lovely and made us feel so welcome. We requested a late check out and it was no problem at all. We will definitely be back.

This has to be the best place to stay in wonderful, colorful St. John's. The hotel is trendy, stylish and sleek, but this being St. John's, also friendly and welcoming, even if you (like me) are not trendy, stylish, and sleek yourselves. There's a lot going on in the lobby and other common areas, including a fair amount of live music -- but in the rooms, it is totally quiet and peaceful. I had a nice view of the harbour and Signal Hill. The hotel is well located, close or close enough to everything. It's on a quiet street but near entertainment centers. The team of valets makes parking easy. Recommended.

The hotel itself was amazing! The staff, the food, the size of the rooms were great! It would’ve been nice if both elevators were working, but we found stairs. The location is not the best. I would advise not staying in a room facing Water Street as the water view is a shipyard that runs all through the night and it is very noisy with car/motorcycle traffic. It is a bit of a walk to the main part of town. The location feels unsafe, but there is a ton of security at entrances to the hotel. Would definitely advise valet parking, they are wonderful and quick and there has been street crime lately.

This hotel is fantastic and very different from any other hotel I have been in. There is a Spotify playlist of classic rock playing everywhere. It’s louder than you would expect music in a hotel to be but, as the owner says, music is meant to be listened to, not out in the background. The decorating is eclectic and there are pictures of rock stars everywhere. The food and drink at the restaurants on site were excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. There is also a spa, hot tub, sauna and lap pool which are clean and relaxing (which was nice after the hours long drive across Newfoundland)
