The staff was wonderful. However, the experience suffers due to a lack of certain amenities. Pet friendly but no place close for a doggie to do its business. Water should be available on each floor, free coffee station (Holiday Inn even has that). $66/day parking. For some people that is 2 hours of pay. I feel chiseled. Was this place sold to private equity? It used to be better.

Amazing place to stay in Austin. Great vibe, super friendly staff, fantastic pool. Lot’s of construction nearby, but still easily walkable to food and parks. Will stay here again on our next trip to Austin.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Van Zandt. Really solid amenities (sparkling water provided at both check-in and check-out, excellent toiletries, and even a white noise machine in the room which I’ve never seen before). The service was also really positive. In particular I really appreciated the luggage service I received from Presley. He really went above and beyond on a super windy day to help deposit my suitcases into the cab. Overall a very positive experience!

Location was great but there is so much construction surrounding the area so it was loud and inconvenient to walk around. The pool and rooftop area was also closed for renovations and I had my heart set on that

I really enjoyed the amenities. On arrival the welcome drink was much appreciated. The use of record players made our room fun. The use of their bikes to ride on the near by Ann and Roy bike and hike trail made it easy to see the Colorado River/ Lady Bird Lake. The evening drinks helped our group of friends join together before heading out for the evening. I only wished it lasted longer than 5:30. The rooms and bedding were comfortable. The hotel was also walking distance to everything we wanted to see in downtown Austin. Most of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend The Hotel Van Zandt.

It was a sophisticated stay for a late 40s couple traveling from Houston for a weekend away. Hotel staff was nice and very helpful and we enjoyed the welcome margaritas. The hotel has a great location and very close to many things to walk to. We did not eat in the restaurant, but had drinks at the lobby bar and it was nice. Drinks were delicious, but pricey both in lobby and at the pool lounge. The Bartender recommended a great restaurant downtown for dinner, J. Carver’s. The Pool was smaller than I expected (pictured online it looks bigger) but it had a fun vibe with music, plenty of sun loungers and an outdoor bar with food options. The Service was great there too. No drip coffee, only fancy Nespresso available in the room and a coffee shop in the lobby. Coffee there was good, but again expensive and had to wait to be served. Carafe of drip coffee in the lobby would be nice. Overall great trip and very few children, good upscale adult scene. Valet parking only for a hefty fee.

The room was spotless, the bathroom was clean. They offered some good welcome drinks and a discount on drinks in the room. The only think I did not like is they valet parking price, 67 dollars per night is a bit too expensive. I would suggest they lower that price for the guests.

Clean room. Overload of retail items to be bought in the room! Ridiculous amount of exorbitant products. Very near to an enormous building site, so very difficult/ dangerous to walk from the hotel to downtown. Lots of boards, hoarding everywhere, unbelievably noisy. Very shocked to discover so much construction around the hotel. Real shame as we planned this stay months ago and thought it would be perfect for 4 of us in our family. The restaurant was closed for breakfast and not much choice in a walkable distance. Very overpriced

I’ll start with the bad..the shower! It’s one of those with half glass no door water goes all over the floor be careful,the blow dryer handle was full of sticky hair product. Beside that everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The location is a short drive to all locations around town. The place is very luxury modern. I would definitely stay here again

Unbeknownst to me, long – term high-rise construction is on three sides of the property, and Rainey Street on the other side. You have your choice. Stay on the side where bars and restaurants are open until 2 AM, or the sides where construction starts at 4 AM. Don’t get me wrong, the place is very nice, but when I drink water from a “clean“ glass and taste someone else’s toothpaste, it ruins the entire experience.

Room has stains on couch, curtains and carpet. Unfinished repairs that needed painting and our minibar was never restocked. Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and soaked up multiple floor towels with every use. It’s was awful stepping out of a hot shower onto a cold wet towel mat. No mention of massive construction all around the entire property that had load noise starting a 5:30am and did not stop until 8pm, even all day Saturday! We expected much more at this price point, especially having a high end suite on the 14th floor. Very disappointing

The room wasn’t cleaned properly. They were doing some sort of renovation that produced a strong chemical smell and I was traveling with my 1 year old so I was a bit concerned… breakfast was LOVELY! The hotel over all looked good, they just need to step up the cleaning. Pay attention to the details.

Great value for the location. Room overlooked Town Lake. It gets a lot of traffic & it shows. Needs a refresher but I would stay here again. Elevator situation is bad, so try to get a lower floor.

The aesthetics were wonderful. It is a beautiful hotel, well-styled, in a perfect location. The bed was very uncomfortable from mattress, to bedding, to pillows. We ended our stay 2 nights early because we got such poor sleep on the bedding that desperately needs to be updated.

A upscale more modern hotel, looks like it’s had recent renovations. The only thing I would suggest is brightening up the rooms. Each room felt extremely dark and like a man cave. We had a larger suite, beds were comfortable, but pillows were flat and like I said, even with curtains fully opened, it was so dark in our room.

Loved this place, great decor and staff. The on-site restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced given the quality and atmosphere. The pool is small but clean and fun. Water pressure in shower was excellent, doorless shower so wet bathroom floor. Biggest complaint is aggressive motion sensor air conditioner in room. Got very hot at night.

Overall, our stay was pleasant. The staff was welcoming and informative. Very stylish and modern. Our room was larger than other hotel chains and clean. The only complaint I have is about the sliding door to the toilet & shower. The door is very heavy and it doesn’t have a handle on it to easily close it. I wasn’t able to fully shut it but I was with my bf so I wasn’t too concerned about privacy while showering or using the bathroom. I’d probably never go back to the bar at the hotel though. The bartender, Sean, was nice but I think he overcharged me for a Tito’s and soda ($15).

The customer service is unrivaled! From management to cleaning people, everyone is so friendly and accommodating.Margaritas or refreshing water offered upon check in. Nice, clean, comfortable hotel with coffee and fridge in the room. Great views of the lake. Valet parking is a little pricey but we found it to be so convenient it was worth it. Special shout out to Jared and Carissa who took such good care of us. There's a long haired gentlemen that is a valet who made our trips around town fun and informative ( so sorry, didn't catch his name but he is a keeper). Highly recommend the Van Zandt!

Shower didn’t work which made me wonder if they cleaned it. Key card issues in elevator - wouldn’t let us get to main floor, which seems like a safety issue. Rude when they brought the car around. They did comps the $35 hotel fee and parking for the broken shower. Margaritas at check in was nice. Location is good. Probably wouldn’t stay there again though

Staff were all friendly from front desk to bellman, valet, bar service & housekeeping. Manager, Frank, was able to retrieve an item that I left in the safe of which I am extremely grateful for his immediate assistance. I look forward to returning in the near future for another Austin Stay-cation at Van Zandt.

Customer service needs improvement at the front desk and pool area. Front desk folks struggled to offer up other information for the hotel when checking in, valet didn’t give a ticket. Staff is friendly but customer service could definitely be better in comparison with the fairmont.

I have never stayed at the Van Zandt before, but I will from now on when traveling to Austin. Great location, walkable to my convention. Close to restaurants and bars. I loved checking out Rainey street literally around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant had great options. The pool was relaxing with plenty of spots to sit and soak up the sun. It’s a 10/10.

Unfortunately our stay was not what it could have been. The decor and vibe of the Hotel was awesome. However, the visit to the lobby bar was less than desirable, bartender was unfriendly and she seemed uninterested in providing pleasant customer service. On the up side the complimentary margaritas upon check-in were very tasty! My biggest concern with this hotel experience was the lack of follow-through regarding an issue in our room. I called for assistance with the electronics in the room, as they were not working correctly and was told someone would be up to assist. However, no one ever showed up or called to follow-up. We travel frequently so this lack of basic follow-up and customer service was disappointing for this type of hotel.

Great hotel in the middle of it all. This is not the place for you if you want a quieter stay, as the neighboring bars play loud music until closing, but it’s such a perfect location to enjoy Rainey Street and surrounding areas. Even with all the nearby construction, it’s surprisingly easy to get in and out and an easy drive (by Austin standards) to the water, Zilker, Barton Springs and other areas outside of downtown.

We were in town for a volleyball tournament and had a great stay! I can’t get over how wonderful the hotel smells & you get free margaritas!! We had breakfast at the 602 which was quick and had some healthy options and snacks for our day. We even got to experience Geraldine’s one night after a long day of playing and really enjoyed the food and live music!

No room service breakfast is a big problem for a luxury hotel. Room service starts at 4pm. Also this is the second time they were an hour late having the room ready and didn’t allow a later check out. I’ll choose a different hotel next time for those reasons.

Hotel was so lovely as well as staff. A lot of construction in area and it was dusty at rooftop pool. Didn’t use amentity unfortunately. Restaurant and nightly live music was a plus! Free water and margaritas in lobby was super cool! Wish there were robes in the room but they delivered at request. Also no full length mirror was annoying.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, comfy beds and pillows and stylish surroundings. Loved our stay. Thoughtful touches in the room including white noise machine which helped with live music from Rainey Street establishments. We slept great! Enjoyed great breakfast at Geraldine’s and another one at the cafe in the lobby. Loved walking down to the river path in the mornings too. We will be back!
