Villa Belle Epoque

The architecture, furnishing and garden with a pool were very special. Its size was just right to be familiar and cosy. The staff were always very helpful.

The most gorgeous old oasis in an otherwise busy city! The neighborhood is quiet and tree-lined, and staff are very helpful and friendly. The cleaning service was the best I’ve ever had. I appreciated the welcome drink, plate of fruit and daily water bottles they provided free of charge upon check-in. The tub was perfect for an evening bath - it even had armrests. The restaurant and small pools are lovely spaces to wind down - we cancelled our plans for an afternoon just to chill and relax using these on-site amenities! The only thing I’d note is not to use the minibar/fridge - the prices are exhorbant. Otherwise, excellent seat! Highly recommend.

Just because they say it is a boutique hotel does not make it so. The pool is small with tables up so close to the edge it is not really usable. We had a nice room, but the 2 couples we were traveling with and who made their reservations at the same time we did, were told that they did not receive them from Expedia, thus there were no rooms available. It was a mess. The front desk men were truly rude to our friends. She happens to be a well known journalist, which I proceeded to tell the manager. He all of a sudden found 2 rooms for the two nights we stays. I have stayed a a lot of hotels and this is one I would never go back to or recommend to anyone. There are better places to stay by far.

Lovely to stay in a character property in a mainly residential area as opposed to a large, generic, chain hotel. Lunch and dinner was excellent. Beautiful pool and gardens. Rooms whilst traditional could be perceived as a little dated but bathrooms were great.

L’hôtel permet de trouver le repos et la quiétude dans un lieu idyllique d’inspiration victorienne. Au regard de la ville du Caire qui est trépidante et bruyante il offre la possibilité de se ressourcer et de se détendre au bord de la piscine. Le séjour est donc particulièrement agréable.

The hotel grounds are very beautiful. However, the facilities are very outdated. The baby bed we received was very dangerous, our baby fell out and got stuck in the structure.

It was quite charming and the restaurant was excellent and in a lovely setting. The pool was nice but there were only dining tables and chairs in any outdoor part of the property including around the poo...so no place to real outdoors and room was too closed in for other than sleeping.

A charmingly converted villa, it is a wonderful alternative to the large, boisterous hotels hosting hordes of package tourists. In a quiet neighborhood, with attentive staff and a lovely garden with pool. Dining options in the garden with a nice, varied menu.

Avis général très inégal … l’établissement est en effet esthétiquement magnifique, très bien entretenu, rénové et décoré avec beaucoup de goût … vous êtes sous le charme dès votre arrivée. L’établissement est à la fois un restaurant et un hôtel, et l’équipe semble avoir du mal à jongler entre ces deux rôles. N’espérez plus vous baigner après 17h … les alentours de la piscine seront dressés avec des tables destinées au repas du soir. Le restaurant est de qualité, la carte variée. Il ne sert cependant pas d’alcool, vous pouvez amener votre bouteille. L’expérience de check-out a était un peu compliquée. L’établissement ne dispose pas de pièce de stockage des bagages, nos valises sont donc restées dans l’entrée de l’hôtel toute la journée, à la vue de tous et sans réel moyen de protection. Notre vol étant prévu le soir, nous imaginions pouvoir profiter de notre après-midi au Caire et avoir un dernier moment au bord de la piscine en fin de journée … impossible … sans solution de douche, pas même non vestiaire. L’expérience de Check-out est clairement à revoir pour atteindre les standards des hôtels équivalents. Le service de manière général n’est pas idéal. L’équipe, nous a régulièrement semblé dépassée : pas de présentation des services et des horaires à l’arrivée, questions sans réponses, erreur de facturation, … Une fois l’émerveillement de l’arrivée passé, l’expérience reste dans l’ensemble décevante.

Wir hatten uns entschlossen diese für Kairo Verhältnisse horrenden Preise(180€ pro Nacht OHNE Frühstück) zu bezahlen, da wir Kunstliebhaber sind und uns für die Villa interessierten. Wir bekamen ein schönes Zimmer, allerdings mit dem Lärm der riesigen KüchenKlimaanlage und im Gebäude nebenan! Nach Reklamation konnten wir in ein sehr schönes Zimmer unterm Dach mit Balkon in der richtigen Villa wechseln. Das Wasser in den Minibar sollte 5 Dollar kosten- haben wir uns natürlich gespart. Ebenso das überteuerte Frühstück (Preise auf der Karte erscheinen gut, Achtung man muss Steuern und Servicegebühren drauf rechnen! Als wir morgens den Pool aufsuchten, erzeugte das großes Erstaunen beim Personal. Pool war dreckig und sandig. Fazit: die Villa ist schön, Preise absolut überteuert. Würden auf keinen Fall wieder dort buchen.

Chambre impeccable, très agréable ; tous les personnels grande gentillesse

Das Hotel ist für mich die beste Adresse in Cairo, wenn man es ruhig und stilvoll mag. Die zimmerausstattung ist hervorragend. Sehr sauber. Das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und zuverlässig. Das Frühstück sehr gut. Ich liebe den Pool. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder.

Le cadre est vraiment superbe: les deux bâtiments et le mobilier ont du caractère, les jardins luxuriants sont parfaitement entretenus. Un espace propre au repos dans cette ville si grouillante et polluée. les chambres mériteraient un petit rafraichissement. Une bonne surprise: le restaurant est de qualité, les plats sont bons et bien présentés pour un prix raisonnable. Enfin ce quartier un peu excentré présente l'avantage de rues propres et calmes, d'un accès facile au métro, et de route évitant le centre-ville super-encombré. On peut recommander vivement cet hébergement.

We enjoyed this place tremendously, and it was very lovely experience. A small hotel (32 rooms) in a quiet garden setting and with a bread & breakfast feel. The room was spacious and very clean, the personnel extremely friendly and helpful. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner available) was excellent. Although not located close to city center, El Maadi train station was less than a 10 minutes walk away with trains running every few minutes to get you to city center in about 20 minutes. We do highly recommend this place away from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to all place in Cairo you want to explore.

Nous avons alors changé pour une grande chambre avec cuisine ouverte (moins charmante), très au calme. L’hôtel est tres propre et tres bien entretenu. Le petit-déjeuner est somptueux. Nous avons été un petit peu déçus par le service général (taxi aéroport exorbitant comparé à Uber) mais à chaque fois que nous avons demandé nous avons été bien accueillis. Il ne manque pas grand chose pour en faire un lieu exceptionnel. Nous recommandons tout de même cet hôtel pour être en dehors du tumulte cacophonique du Caire.

we had a good stay,but down side the aircondition need some mentainance room 18 was the one we stay with. all in all it was perfect.

The hotel is incredible. It has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard. The room has all possible amenities, including a washing machine! The breakfast was delicious, as was the supper dining options.

This is a charming escape from the pounding noise of Cairo centre! Really sweet service, large if rather dates rooms, and a lovely pool area breakfast and more! Tremendously friendly and cultured environment for serious unwinding we just wished we could have stayed longer!!

The AC isn’t working effectively, I had to call them 3 times to get fixed. The WiFi isn’t working. I had to ask for my room as booked, they were trying to put us in ground floor with out any view !!!

Das Hotel ist eine kleine ruhige Oase in dieser doch sehr großen und hektischen Stadt. Unser Zimmer war wunderschön und wir hatten eine schöne Terrasse. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. 25,- Dollar für ein Frühstück-Buffet ist recht teuer, wir haben uns für das a la carte Frühstück entschieden und haben die ägyptische Variante gewählt. Ein Frühstück ist für zwei mehr als genug und es war sehr fein.

L'hébergement est magnifique mais le service n'est pas du tout à la hauteur d'un établissement à ce prix-là. Nous ne sommes restés qu'une seule nuit. À 8h du matin, quelqu'un a introduit la clé dans la serrure de l'extérieur, nous réveillant, sans toquer ni demander rien du tout. Nous avons dû crier pour qu'il n'ouvre pas la porte. Ainsi réveillés, nous allons au petit déjeuner, qui a l'air excellent. Mais personne ne nous place, nous demande ce que nous voulons boire ou manger en plus du buffet. Nous devons nous lever nous même et interpeler le serveur. Enfin lors du checkout, l'homme a la réception veut nous facturer un montant bien supérieur à notre dîner de la veille, nous contestons, ce dernier cherché dans toutes ses feuilles volantes et dit qu'il s'est trompé se note. Vu le prix de l'hôtel ces points ne sont plus seulement du détail.

L'hotel en lui meme est agréable, mais le personnel manque de sympathie et de professionalisme c'est dommage.

Old fashioned colonial atmosphere, but with exquisite service, super friendly staff and the necessary quite to rest out the Cairo's chaos.

Decor is reminiscent of old world elegance with new world comfort. The staff is wonderful and helpful. They were courteous and kind. The Villa went beind expectations.

La chambre est propre, la literie est confortable mais malheureusement le service n'est pas à la hauteur du lieu. Peu ou pas de bonjour, pas de sourire, tellement de serveurs autour du bar du restaurant mais personne ne s'occupe de nous. Ce fut malheureusement une grande déception.

Nice boutique hotel. Good food. Mostly lovely staff. But some front desk staff unhelpful, so definitely room for improvement there.

The hotel locates in a very nice and posh neighborhood in Cairo, after experiencing all the hustles of the city, it’s a real relief for me and my friend to get to stay in the hotel and walk around in the area. The area is safe and with lots of nice cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself is very well designed and maintained, the staffs are very helpful as well.

We stayed in this hotel on three occasions during our trip to Egypt (Sept-Oct) and on each occasion the hotel was wonderful. It is a lovely villa that has been converted into a boutique hotel. It also has a very good and popular restaurant. The staff were fantastic. I recommend this hotel if you are staying in Cairo. The area it is situated in is very good and there is a Metro connection about a 10min walk away.

A real oasis is a bustling city. Beautiful elegantly furnished rooms lend an old world charm. Food at their restaurant was excellent too.

Staff were available for my after midnight arrival. Given a nice room with antique bed in the annex. Large breakfast buffet included with rate. A nice place to relax a couple nightstand before delving into Egypt. Excellent fresh pasta in restaurant. No wine..
