It’s an old historic building. Very cool if you’re interested in that kind of thing. It does have creaky old wooden floors in spots but not too bad. The rooms are furnished with antique furniture and lamps which I really like. That’s one of the reasons I come back. While it has been remodeled, don’t expect perfection. The building is old. The rooms have a sink but no bathroom. There are several nice private bathrooms in the hallways to use. The restaurant is great. Again in a very cool old building with some original furnishings and a beautiful old bar with stained glass light fixtures.The restaurant also has a movie theatre. You get free movie admission if you stay in the hotel. The only negative thing I can say is there are train tracks a block or two behind the building. Trains run several times during the night blowing their horns. I already knew this from staying here before. The hotel provides earplugs which really help. Be sure to visit the hotel’s page for more details.

Gorgeous and lovingly restored. The attention to detail is amazing. Hard to describe properly. This place is like the best hipster hostel ever, which could mean totally dirty. But nope, it’s spic and span. The rooms were pristine, the shared bathrooms were spotless. The cloth on the pool tables had zero beer spills on them. I have no idea how that’s possible. Had breakfast in the morning. It was stupid expensive but delicious. The smell of the wood burning stove was fragrant and lovely. I want to come back and live here for a week at a time. I kid you not.

This is a typical hotel from this chain in that it is quirky. For example, the rooms have no windows except I did have a very small skylight and you have shared baths, which was just fine. They were super clean and numerous you do have to walk Up long staircase to get upstairs and be warned that there is a theater below much of the rooms and so do not plan on going to bed early! The food was incredible and they serve till 12 AM which was really great because I got there super late and I have a big fan

The only drawback was the train, but that's to be expected, given the location. They do provide ear plugs, tho, so good looking out!

Love the venue, the food in the bar and the free cinema. We were a little confused regarding the Mason jar and the filling if it. The girl at the desk seemed to be saying a script but not really thinking about what she was saying and if it made sense.

This is a historic building in downtown Centralia. Rooms are upstairs with shared bathrooms, pub, restaurant and pool tables downstairs. Such fun exploring the treasures in this place, the ambience, the history.

mcmenamins is always super fun! Basic SRO style rooms , but very comfortable beds and linens. Like usual, this is a bit different from the usual hotel room - the facilities are great and the amenities far more comfortable than you’d think for the price , but if you want the average motel experience keep looking. Vintage touches galore., modern AC / hvac, no direct controls. Wifi limited. Mcmenamins restaurants are technically next door , meaning you will ever so briefly exit to street , so no breakfast in your slippers , but also fun. Trains are VERY close - for me that’s a feature not a bug but if you’re sensitive to sound , bring noise cancellation . pre-ADA means steep stairs , and you’ll need two hands to manipulate a physical door key for a bolt and separate handle - not a problem for me either but be aware ! Cozy restaurant next door with firepit outside and wood burning stove inside , fun vintage cinema theater experience included ; main street area close to all the shops bars restaurants that old downtown centralia has to offer - again small but hopefully if you book this you’re going on purpose for the experience! I’ll return.

The cleanliness was great and I enjoyed having the restaurant and bar underneath and very accessible. The rooms were nice and the bathrooms very clean. The only issue was the theatre. Charming decor, friendly responsive staff, clean and comfortable in the dining area, bar, pool hall, movie room and bedroom/showers. The coffee/water table upstairs in the bedroom area could be serviced more frequently, with more tea bags, hot water and coffee. The bed linens, specifically pillowcases, were clean but the pillows themselves needed freshening or replacing.

What a unique, interesting place to stay—with a ton of character. The rooms had walls covered with historical descriptions of the original characters who frequented and ran the Oly Cub, which really gave you a sense of what it was like “way back when.” I wasn’t sure what to expect from the shared bathrooms, but they kept everything super clean and there were many so I never had to wait to use one.

Everything was great except the men's bathroom in the bar . The old urinals stink. I mean bad. Worse than any porta potty, i've been in . Other than that, it's a nice hotel and I do recommend it

The decorative pillow in bed smelled of urine. In heard loud humming from lights or furnace all night and trains going by non stop. It was a very sleepless evening. There’s no toilet or shower just a sink which I had seen. There was a common bathroom, but didn’t realize how this would be. I had often wanted to stay after watching a movie down there and finally tried it out. I know this is a really really old historical building but For $100 just for somewhere to sleep I’m hoping to be able to sleep. I was really bummed out that the pillow on top of my bed smelled of urine. I had had my own blanket in the car for the movie and I wound up going and getting it and wrapping myself in it to feel better about my last minute decision to stay. I didn’t make it through the night and got right back on the road and drove home because it was pointless to try to sleep in that room. #13

Lots of train noise throughout the night. Staff (front fest, wait staff and bartenders) were great! Food was very good! No TVs in the rooms, and my particular room was small, windowless, and a bit warm. Bed (Twin/bunk) was quite comfortable.

Super clean. Friendly staff. Bunk beds were comfortable & passing trains weren’t a bother, but the noise trickling up from the kitchen could (occasionally) be obtrusive. (We were in room 7.) Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

I think this place caters to a younger crowd as there were a few rooms partying and making noise until 2 am. The rooms are clean but old so the walls doors do not stop sound transmission. Also it is located adjacent train tracks and there are train horns that sound at all hours of the night.

There was loud noise from movie theater, railroad, game room. Really loud from the theater. Room was supplied with ear plugs. I had a room with bunk The shared bathroom beds were clean and convenient. Room was clean but tiny. No TV. TV would probably add to noise. Steep narrow stairs to haul luggage up. Interesting experience. Glad I did it. Won't do it again.

The staff was great, and the bar/restaurant was too. The place is a little noisy, and the train is unlikely to be moved to the next town. It's a little awkward sharing the bathrooms. Next time, we will probably stay somewhere else, but still come to the restaurant.

mcmenamins is always super fun! Basic SRO style rooms , but very comfortable beds and linens. Like usual, this is a bit different from the usual hotel room - the facilities are great and the amenities far more comfortable than you’d think for the price , but if you want the average motel experience keep looking. Vintage touches galore., modern AC / hvac, no direct controls. Wifi limited. Mcmenamins restaurants are technically next door , meaning you will ever so briefly exit to street , so no breakfast in your slippers , but also fun. Trains are VERY close - for me that’s a feature not a bug but if you’re sensitive to sound , bring noise cancellation . pre-ADA means steep stairs , and you’ll need two hands to manipulate a physical door key for a bolt and separate handle - not a problem for me either but be aware ! Feeling adventurous my husband and i stayed in a twin bunkbed rm 16,Charlamagne room. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for a single Saturday night stay. Clean bathrooms were conviently close and as were the exits. They offered coffee, tea and water and one could just drop the room key in a box to check out. We even checked in by text. The service was inviting and top notch. Highly recommend.

Old Centralia is a lovely place with lots of nice shops and restaurants. The train station is handsome and right behind the hotel, so train whistles are LOUD passing by. But like all old-town McMinemans, the hotel is cozy, welcoming, and the staff is kind and helpful. The food and beer are good, and it was easy to be there with my dog. I loved it.

Nice, eclectic property! Very unique! Our only complaint - the main line of the BNSF Railroad runs behind the property. All night long, there are train whistles since there is a crossing not far away. There was no indication from Expedia or the hotel that this was a condition for staying there. I worked for a railroad for 10 years, so I didn't mind, but my wife was not happy!

The cleanliness was great and I enjoyed having the restaurant and bar underneath and very accessible. The rooms were nice and the bathrooms very clean. The only issue was the theatre. Even though it is very neat to have that on the property it is still loud and you have to wait for the movie to go off before you can sleep.

Quick trip to the West Side from North Idaho and after a long drive I was so excited we stumbled upon this fun place. The bed was super comfy for a Queen and I even shared with my kid. The train was loud, if your not use to it, but we asked for a fan and the white noise helped us sleep. Even in room 14 right across from the tracks ! We cant wait to come back and be able to explore deeper into this historic hotel - theater - possibly haunted establishment with the rest of our family. I also highly recommend the Juice Box down the way for a great tap selection and what looked like fun stage and seating. FYI - Dont for get to look up!
