Nice little motel. Boat launch was very outdated and filled with moss. Needs to be cleaned a bit. Rooms were nice. Bed wasn’t really comfy but place was kept nice. Pool was nice too.

There is no continental breakfast as stated. The “heated” pool was 70 degrees. The ice machine was out of order our entire stay. The staff did not seem to care about any of these issues. Offered no apologies at all. We will not stay here again.

The only complaint I had was the floors in the room were dirty. If you walked in your bare feet on the floors, your feet were black. We did report the issue to the front desk. Otherwise, my stay was enjoyable.

Exerything was wonderful, the staff great! My only complaint was walking across dirty floors in the room, they needed mopping!!! My feet were so dirty I had to wash before putting my shoes back on. Still a really nice place to stay, and I will keep coming back

The rooms were nice , painted and new bath , very comfortable bed , ac worked excellent, but they don’t know how to clean a floor . Filthy on day one and we told office person and cleaning staff and no better on day two , again asked with no result !!! Have gone to many resorts and motels this was the worst way too conduct business. Will never stay there again .

My family and I recently stayed at Cap'n Inn & Suites and I must make you aware of the mold situation in our room. There was BLACK MOLD under the air conditioning unit and water was dripping into the room, not to mention the mold that was GROWING on the lampshade. The amount of mold made it difficult for us to breathe with the mildew smell. My husband and I, with our young children in tow, did not want to stay another night, so we decided to cut our losses and leave for home. When we told the receptionist about the mold, she said, "Really? We have had mold problems with other rooms. I don't know why they are not checked more often. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a refund". I did not ask for a refund, but I am not sure how a place can go on charging people for rooms that make it difficult to breathe and are unsanitary. I would not stay here again if someone paid me.

The floor was not clean. It seemed to have gritty like sand/dirt on it. Shower and bathroom were fine-standard. The biggest problem I had was coming back to my room to find the door wide open with an employee from a different company fixing a blind in the room. We were next-door having breakfast to come back to find this. It wasn’t even checkout time yet. You’d think between 11 AM at checkout and 4 PM at check-in they would have the room serviced and maintenance. This is very concerning because there were valuables in the room and no one to hold this person accountable. Cross this place off our list.

The room was very clean but it was small. It had a small refrigerator but did not have a microwave. The bathroom was also very small with a stall shower and a very small vanity. However the room was serviced everyday and supplied with clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and coffee for the coffee pot.

The staff was super friendly from check in to check out. Bathroom was exceptionally clean for a motel. The room was small, but in good condition. The problem was the bed. Awful! We couldn't sleep it was so bad. Aching backs. Some family members also staying it the motel had the same problem, some asked for different rooms. Time to replace the mattresses!

Pros:The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. the staff were polite and responsive. I didn't hear noise from the other rooms. Cons:The mirror in the bathroom was much to low. I mesure 5'11" and I could only see below my chin when standing before it. There was nowhere to place personal hygiene objects near the sink. The television sound and image was of low quality and the air conditioner struggled to keep the room cool.

The office staff were very nice & accommodating. The location was convenient to downtown Alexandria Bay. We were a bit disappointed with how long it took for housekeeping to take care of our room though. They wouldn’t arrive until very late in the day. We didn’t like the mattresses, they were very noisy. We thought it was the box spring but it was the mattress.

The Captain's Inn & Suites seemed pretty much like a standard motel - our room had 2 double beds. It was enhanced by the presence of a small kitchenette - range, microwave, under-the-counter fridge and sink. The cupboards were equipped with a set of dishes and flatware. Very convenient. Desk staff were friendly and professional and I would book there again in the future.

Room was very clean, bed very comfy, A/C was great, the hostess, Kimberly, was friendly and pleasant and gave us a lot of good tips on where to eat and what to see. She’s a keeper. This is very close to downtown/waterfront without being right in middle of all the touristy stuff. Definitely would stay here again.

Our room was not cleaned while we were out an entire day. We had to ask for fresh towels as the house staff went home before we got back. Was told all rooms had been cleaned. Across the parking lot from our room you could see rats eating and running around a dumpster. The maintenance needs updated. The door didn't shut tight and could see daylight around it. Chipmunks were all over outside, looked out and a chipmunk was on window sill and looked back at me. Not startled by noises. Would NOT stay here again.

I had every intention of giving this quaint little inn all 5 star reviews, except for one thing. The room was very nice, the bed was super comfortable, and its located very conveniently to all the attractions. The ladies ar the front counter were super nice. But then there's this..when you check in you're given a facts and rules sheet. One of the facts is if you don’t want housekeeping coming in your room or any staff, then you hang a "do not disturb" plackard on your door. We went out for the day our second day into our stay and hung the plackard on our door. When we came back we noticed that the blow dryer that was mounted on the wall in the bathroom was gone. Then i noticed a different dryer laying on a shelf in the bathroom. When we checked out today i asked about it. I was told that the ladt occupant complained that it didnt work so they replaced it for us. Thats all well and good, but why do it while we were gone, when we had a sign on the door to not enter? And no one said anything to us at all. They could have at leasr left us a note explaining it. Very unprofessional and completely unacceptable. We didn’t even get an apology. We will never return to this inn. We will stay somewhere else

Would have been 5 stars but i was there 4 nights , never put my do not disturb out and never got my room cleaned. Told them after 1st night bad second then just gave up. Great room, great rate, great location but give you long list of rules for you to follow but the 1 they state they have to clean room daily if no do-not disturb sign out they did not follow.

We arrived early and knew we couldn’t check in. But when we went into the office to look around Kimberly was very kind and friendly and offered us to use the pool and look around the grounds. We were so thrown back by that because in other travels to other places we were never shown such hospitality. The grounds were very clean and welcoming. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, homie and spotless. The other visitors were very nice as well.

A very nice motel. Well kept, clean, provides everything you need for a pleasant stay. Not fancy but very nice. The only drawback, if this concerns you, is that it isn't within waling distance of the main area of town. Only maybe 3 miles but more than we wanted to walk. Would recommend for comfort and cleanliness.

Nice clean hotel near, within walking distance, to downtown Alexandria Bay. Just as convenient as staying at the other hotels but at a reasonable cost. Walked to dinner, bars, and the boat tour docks. Also the diner (separate establishment) just in front of the hotel was a bonus on the mornings. Good food at good price to make everything easy.

This was an excellent inexpensive find for a quick overnight stay to break up a trip. The room was very clean and neat. Lots of extra amenities that were appreciated. We would also recommend the NorthStar Family Restaurant for meals. We liked the area and may plan a long weekend trip next summer.

I love that all rooms are on one level. I love the pool. There is a very nice diner right next door with indoor and outdoor seating. The folks that work there are all very nice and helpful. The coffee was delicious. It was very clean. I felt that the room was kind of small but it served the purpose. The cost was very reasonable.
