Edison Beach House

Great spot! On the beach, all suite and super convenient for some of the best beach restaurants! The pool is in renovation, but hotel provides beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles and beach towels! Can’t beat these views either!

Affordable for a quick get away. Elevator doesn't work since the Hurricane 3yrs ago. We stayed on 4th floor and that became a horrible exercise. If you're older, stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor max.

Great property right on the beach with pool. Room was spacious and had a balcony, kitchen and in room washer/dryer. Only bad thing was we were on the 4th floor and elevators weren’t working.

Property was very clean. New pool/area was very nice. Right on beach and close to Time Square! Only problem we had at all was elevator was not working. They were waiting on a part on backorder.

The Edison Beach house is very nice and in a beautiful location. I enjoyed my stay very much and management was very kind. The property is still going through some updates after the hurricanes. I would definitely stay again. The only down side is the elevator is currently out. Which I normally always take stairs anyways but it’s inconvenient if you’re trying to carry heavy luggage up and down the stairs. The first night the check in lady was telling everyone to take what they needed to there room and someone would help them with their luggage the next day. I witnessed numerous guests taking their heavy luggage up flights of stairs themselves. Some people who really shouldn’t be. My last day I was attempting to carry mine back down to my car and housekeeping stopped me. Said maintenance will help you down with that. I mentioned to management what happened the first night and she said the security guard is supposed to help guests up upon arrival. But the female security guard didn’t even offer and gave everyone walking in mean looks. I tried to say hi to her as I walked in and she didn’t respond. Just gave me a mean stare down. I was only on the 2nd floor, I managed to get my luggage up the stairs fine but other people especially on the upper floors shouldn’t be doing that on their own. I was warned about the elevator ahead of time when I called but I was also told someone would be here to help with luggage. When I told management they apologized.

Awesome little apartments on the beach that are close to everything. They supply you with everything you could possibly need (except food) while you stay. Beach chairs, umbrellas, toiletries, coffee, creamer, laundry soap, etc. if your staying long term the kitchenettes have everything you need to eat in.

Location is number 1. Full Kitchen, Washer/Dryer in unit, two lazy boy chairs in mini living room, and a balcony. There is a pool with lounge chairs in a breezeway I call it, not as hot as the beach. A Beach closet with beach chairs, umbrella’s, floaters and sand toys for sitting on the waters edge. Cool sand, no need for sandals! Helpful staff and free parking when other beach parking is $10-$20. We had a wonderful time!

Love the beach view, love the location on FMB. This is the first year that the pool was open (since Ian) the pool is very nice and area kept and clean

Cockroach in room when we walked In. Dated furniture, horribly uncomfortable bed, elevators not working (we did know this prior to arrival) but didn’t know we would be on 4th floor. Dryer not working. Will probably not be back

We enjoyed out stay. The carpet in the closet was wet when we arrived, it stayed wet until we left. Not a huge deal except when you momentarily forgot and stepped in it while barefoot. The beach was great. It was very close to downtown, which was nice. Employees were very nice and friendly. I know things break and we were only on the second floor so the non-functioning elevator wasn't a deal breaker. Just glad we weren't on a higher floor. Overall, we would stay here again.

My family and I stayed here for a few nights. The property is located right on the beach, it has a great pool area and they provide all the stuff you need for both the pool and the beach, which is very nice when having travelled by plane. The staff was wonderful, very friendly. The only thing I would suggest is the cleaning services be stepped up a notch. When we arrived we put out bags in the closet and there was a giant roach that had been steeped on but hadn’t been picked up. Also the second night we were there I was lying in bed watching television and a roach crawled across my pillow which made it impossible to sleep after that. Truly though, this place is very nice, the staff is super friendly and the amenities were great!

Do you want us to put on the area of course is rebuilding itself after hurricane Ian however, the towels in the room were as stiff and hard as her nose white not very comfortable to use and the Internet for the or the cable TV whatever it is kept going in and out every 10 minutes the screen and freeze said call the helpdesk which we did and we’re basically told there is nothing they can do about it. Glad we were able to contribute to the Kohls. However, I feel for what we paid. It should’ve been a lot better. However, the view to the beach was absolutely stunning.

We just stayed here for a week and it was a wonderful experience. When we checked in the woman at the desk was WONDERFUL! The room itself was very clean and welcoming. The staff were very nice, always saying hi when you see them. The view…. Out of this world! Waking up everyday to the ocean was amazing. We have recommended Edison Beach house to everyone! We will be coming back!

Four night stay in room 202 was wonderful. Beds were super comfortable, immaculately clean, very well equipped, and the view was lovely. We were very impressed by the maintenance gentleman who takes beautiful care of the property. The pool is fantastic. I have been struggling with where to stay since the hurricane, but I found a new place to hang my swimsuit.

Well our room had a shower that leaked into the closet. They came to dry the floor. Never fixed what was happening. Each day we had water leaking.

Bad experience with the elevator on the property. It wasn't working. The security guard was very rude, a girl with a bad attitude. The cleaning was bad. I was there for three days. They never changed my sheets.

Well kept property, clean, gorgeous views

Well…. The location is amazing. One of the only hotels on the beach as of 2-2024. They are working in the pool and lower levels. Noise is not bad. The staff is amazing and helpful. Rooms are typical Florida beach front hotels. Beds could be updated. Think I say a build date from 1972 on my mattress. Definitely friendly area and for a beach front hotel. This will do.

It's just very quaint. Not like a regular motel experience. Very homey. Has everything you need including washer and dryer.

Staff was so friendly, room was very spacious and super clean. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Large dining table, balcony was perfect and kitchen was beautiful. Also had a washer and dryer but we didn't use it.

It was on the beach, & that was great. The only reason why I didn’t give it a higher rating was because it could use a little updating, I.e: one of the bedrooms had a big slash/hole in the carpeting, so that needs to be replaced, & the fan in one of the bathrooms was, obnoxiously, loud. Also, our unit was missing the sign that you hang on the door if you do or do not want housekeeping services & we didn’t even know we were supposed to have that sign for the door & because we weren’t hanging it on the door knob, (because we didn’t have it,) housekeeping kept walking in & startling us. It wasn’t until the second to the last day that a very nice gentleman from the housekeeping team found a sign for us to hang on the door, & then the problem stopped. overall, parking wasn’t an issue, but over the weekend, when people were checking in & checking out & they had a lot of extra staff on hand to get the units ready for new guests, parking was a little scarce. Otherwise, it was very comfortable, & I would stay there again, but I would make sure to request a west facing unit. Our unit was on the other side of the building, so we didn’t get to see the sunsets from our balcony, but it was OK, because it just gave us an excuse to go walking on the gorgeous beach. Be aware, Fort Myers Beach is still recovering from hurricane Ian, & there is still a lot of devastation all around this building. There is a ton of construction going on, but the building is pretty sound proof we & didn’t hear it

Edison Beach house is a wonderful place to stay! Very clean and convenient! It was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was right on the water but also has a nice pool and chairs if you don’t want to be on the sand. It was within walking distance to restaurants and stores. The only bad thing is the bed wasn’t very comfortable at all. Everything else was great!

I like the full suite, the receptionists are so nice. The tv internet is poor!! But in general it's good for recommendation!

Great experience overall. Beautiful view from balcony! Only complaint…the beds were lacking in comfort and pillows were scarce and what we had were very thin.

We couldn’t stay our first night because we weren’t told that you had to check in before 7 pm. Yes, it was in fine print on the website but booking thru Expedia was the problem. Somehow, customers need to be notified of this in bold CAPITAL LETTERS print since it is not a normal expectation OR REQUIREMENT. We arrived after 7 pm and had to go pay to stay somewhere else which was frustrating and expensive. OTHERWISE, we loved the place

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the elevator was down the duration of our trip and we were on the 4th floor, but we were prepared as they called us before our trip to make sure we would be ok to still be in our room. Would definitely go back to The Edison Beach House!

I have stayed at a few properties on Fort Myers Beach, and this is one of the best one yet! Very clean, office staff very nice. I love the rooms have washer and dryers!

Love the rooms, and Miss Anna. Second time i have stayed here. Second time the elevator was broke. Put us on the 5th floor. Very nice gentleman helped with the luggage. Came back to our room one night and our door was open and the lights were on. We didn't leave it that way. Someone had been in our room. I reported it to the front desk and security. They did nothing about it. Kept telling me that it has never happened before and its impossible for anyone to have gotten in our room. It's unfortunate, but i won't stay there again.

Employees were amazing ! So helpful. Property was the perfect spot with beautiful views. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Our stay at the Edison Beach House was great! The location couldn't better. We had a balcony on the beachside and it was fantastic!

The location is great, right on the beach. Many places to eat within a 5 minute walk. Parking is easy. Rooms are decently sized, and well put together.

Beachfront condo was great for 2 people. Beautiful views!! Comfortable beds, great water pressure in shower. Love the full sized fridge. Nice pool area. Walk to all Times Square restaurants.

Loved the location in proximity to shopping and dining. Great place for shelling and water levels for kids. Spacious apartment for 4 adults.

Nice view of and easy access to beach; convenient to local bars and eateries but far enough down the street to be quiet. Room was clean; in-room washer/dryer was nice (didn't use it but would have in a longer stay). Staff are friendly and polite. Elevator is broken so our room was a 3rd-floor walkup; we are in our 60s with mobility issues so we wish we would have known this before we arrived (dragging heavy luggage up 3 flights wasn't fun). Hotel (and entire Ft. Myers Beach area) is still rebuilding after Hurricane Ian, and is still a work in progress; hope they (and all local businesses and homes) can restore themselves to their former glory very soon.

We loved the property. Friendly staff when checking in and out. Right on the beach, close parking. Clean pool. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Can’t wait to visit again!

Great location. Just on the edge of tourist beach but quiet and still close to the dinner and nightlife action.

Still cleaning from hurricanes. Beach not available because they are building it back up. Not fault of hotel. Couldve sat there all day watching the process. Overall excellent place and will definitely return to this hotel again when in area. Did not disappoint!!

As of July 2023, Fort Myers is still rebuilding from the hurricane. There are still many signs of the destruction, however you see signs of life coming out. Edison Beach House is one of these signs. They still have a ways to go in terms of getting the pool ready. I was happy the elevator was operational. The views are great and the Fort Myers sunset truly is remarkable. I loved that it was right on the beach and near the town square. Tip: Spend the extra dollars to get a full ocean view vs partial. To make the most of your time, bring your groceries with you, the nearest Publix is a car ride away.

The location is excellent, the hotel is clean, with friendly staff, the suite has everything we need, markets are 10 minutes away. I will definitely be back.

This place was amazing. We reserved the room with a balcony/gulf view. Well worth the extra cost. The staff is wonderful, very friendly, and helpful. This place provided lots of extra items like beach chairs, towels, umbrella, utensils to use for their on-site bbq grills. Communication was very prompt. They let us know in advance the elevator was not working. There is a security person available for after hours to assist. We a dolphin and stingray off the beach! We will definitely stay here again!!

This was a great location. Right in the beach. They had chairs and umbrellas and pails and shovels for us to use on the beach. Full kitchen to cook any meal we needed. Will be back for sure.

This property exceeded our expectations. Very clean room. Washer and dryer in the bathroom was such a bonus, even provided detergent. The room was nicely appointed. A full kitchen including a dishwasher! And it is right on the beach.

If you’re a fancy pants traveler don’t stay here. If you’re a beach life person stay here. Large apartment-like room…large living space/kitchen area, 2 bedrooms (one with 2 beds), 2 bathrooms with showers, full kitchen, washer and dryer. There is no lobby, drinks, snacks, etc. so just went to Walmart and ABC and got all the food and drinks we needed. Great beach but could have used large beach umbrellas and chairs but they were for rent next beach over 300’ away. More of an apartment feel than hotel, definitely better than hotel experience. Lots of places within walking distance (bars, restaurants, beach shops). Took a gamble staying here especially post-hurricane but great decision.

We had an ocean front view. With the full kitchen we enjoyed breakfast in the room with lots of relaxing time overlooking the beach. The room was clean and had a very warm atmosphere. We loved it!

The hotel was in a great location, the luggage porter service was excellent, and the front desk staff made us feel very welcome! They served a very nice breakfast in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
