The pool was overchlorinated, our 5 yo grandson would start coughing immediately because of the chlorine, so we would have to leave. The breakfast could have had more options. Maybe some scrambled eggs. Other than that, it was clean. Normal wear for a hotel.

First floor BUTTON and ONLY ELEVATOR ON THE PROPERTY WASNT WORKING you had to go up or down. Only person on staff didnt answer bell at the front desk for about 10 minutes after arrival while line started to form about their room being 80 degrees. Our air conditioning wasnt on either and just as hot. Having one person work the evening shift for the entire hotel at 8pm is ridiculous. We stay at la Quintas all the time since we have a mini goldendoodle and they allow dogs. This is the first time we have had a miserable experience getting checked and getting to our room. This is the only La Quinta we would never dream of staying at again. We will be calling Expedia and Wyndham corporate about this to be compensated/credited considering we are wyndham platinum members.

Overall not terrible but not great. Got a distinct smell, rooms weren’t the cleanest, stains on the walls, water damaged trim to no trim in the bathrooms from the water damage, ceilings had water marks, one of the comforters had look like mold spot stains. Just seemed/felt dirty. Breakfast is basic at best. Staff was friendly.

The bed was clean there was hair in the tub and on toilet. The cloth chair was real dirty and the room smelled like urine. They do allow pets so maybe that is why. However for the price and the small amount of time in in the room it was doable.

This place is absolutely awful. Bedspread and sheets were filthy Sink didn’t drain TV doesn’t work Mold and rust in the bathtub I went down to tell the front desk about all the problems. The first thing they said will refund your money. I should’ve known then this was a disaster. Then they told me they can’t change the sheets or fix anything. I have to change my own sheets and they don’t have anybody to fix anything. And this was actually the manager I spoke with. What a joke

I found ants in my room. When I reported it, the front desk told me they could give me spray so I could handle it myself. This is completely unacceptable. Guests should never be asked to perform pest control. It’s a health and safety issue and far below the standards expected from your brand.

I had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life at La Quinta Inn & Suites Springfield, IL. When I checked into my room, I immediately found an ant infestation and mattresses that were filthy, with stains that looked like blood. When I reported it to the front desk, I was shocked to be told they could give me spray so I could handle the ants myself. That’s completely unacceptable. Guests should never be expected to perform their own pest control. I contacted Wyndham Hotels expecting help, but instead I was told to wait a week for the property to respond. After all of that, I was offered just 15,000 points. Meanwhile, I had to leave and get another hotel. I am out nearly $400.00 from this experience. This was more than an inconvenience—it was a health and safety issue. The lack of cleanliness, accountability, and customer care was beyond disappointing. I would never recommend this property, and I will not be staying with Wyndham again.

The hotel was clean and modern, great value. Although, I had no sleep the first night due to someone's TV/music vibrating through the walls till 3AM. The bed was very firm. Outside of that, everything was nice, including the breakfast and the staff. Great location for us staying in Springfield.

Checked into our room with our dog, second floor. Bed overlay was dirty with stains. Bathroom floor had many loose floor tile in front of sink — safety hazard — and grout mess as though someone attempted to fix. Room is heavily used and all furniture and linens look too worn. Sofa was dirty and sunken and bed appeared same. I had to clean off the desk it was so dirty I finally decided it just wasn’t right. I’m paying the same price as everyone else. Are they putting me in this crappy room because I have a dog (a very sweet, well behaved one)? I requested that we be moved. The 3rd floor room is clean with perfect floors and no stains. It’s a shame. Desk clerk gave some weird reasons why our room wasn’t clean and had stains — perhaps she could use some training

1st, the staff was so friendly. Very welcoming, definitely great customer service both at check in and check out. 2nd, THE ROOM, AMAZING. My boyfriend is disabled and in a powerchair, this requires us to travel with a travel hoyer lift to be able to get him in and out of bed. For the first time, I think that whoever designed this accessible room either does use the equipment that we do or is very close to someone who is. Or I guess they may have actually consulted simmering with disabilities and asked what their ideal room set up is. The only thing I would change about the room is lose the carpet and make the whole room smooth flooring, that’s only because it’s hard to push the hoyer lift while he’s in it on the carpet no matter how thin. The bathroom, fabulously designed. The bed, not only extremely comfortable but this is only the second room we’ve ever stayed in that is actually very very accessible. we didn’t have to use the hoyer lift in the bathroom but i was curious had we needed to, could we. YES. We were absolutely blown away not only by the size and arrangement of the room but also the cleanliness. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good place to stay. but I feel like there is rarely any review on the level of accommodations they make at hotels.

The Wifi absolutely sucked. I was trying to watch a basketball game on my laptop. It would show 6-8 seconds of the game and then buffer for 2-3 seconds. Problem was it would not restart where it started buffering but where the game now was. So if a shot went up and it started buffering, you had no way of knowing if the shot was made or missed because when it started back up, the players would all be running to the other end. And it only showed the top 2/3 of the screen so you never saw the score of the game. That was the first half, during the half time it dropped me completely and I could never get reconnected even though you could see my PC trying to reconnect. And the dead bolt on the door would not latch.

Very nice stay. Everything and everyone to did a great job! My only complaint is the poor lighting in the room, but that’s in 95% of hotels I stay at. So there’s probably not much that could be done other than another lamp. But overall, we would definitely stay here again, so thank you for the genuinely wonderful hospitality!

Hotel wasn’t very clean. Staff is never around when you need them, and rude. Had the “Please do not disturb” sign on my door and house keeping let themselves in both mornings without knocking while we were sleeping. Complained to front desk and they did nothing about it. Will never stay again, don’t waste your money.

The young lady that checked us in was amazing. Lobby is beautiful, very fresh and bright. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great, everything we needed, lots of options. Walmart right next door so I was able to get all the things I forgot to pack. Lots of dining options within a few minutes drive. Plenty of grassy areas for walking the dog. The only thing that bothered us was the elevator could use a tune-up. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

Upon arrival I was told that the deposit would be automatically refunded to my card after checkout. I called a day after check out and was told 2-3 business days. After that I called and was told 5-6 business days. My refund still has not been refunded.

Had a prepaid room. When we showed up they said they couldn’t find record of the booking. Front desk person then tried to sell us a room for $250 a night in cash. We offered to pay with a card and work with the manager in the morning to work out the situation as it was a late night check in, but they would only take cash. Working with Expedia to resolve this issue, but hotel has been unwilling to work. We are Expedia Platinum member and have never had an issue. This hotel may be nice inside, but extremely shady business practices. For the record, the Comfort Inn and Suites right down the road helped us get a room during this mess and their staff were amazing

Room was clean, but my room (418) needs an update - bathroom especially. Also better lighting in general as the room as a little dark. Staff was friendly and professional, but there were two occasions when I stood at the front desk waiting for someone to appear. One of those times, I waited about four minutes and rang the bell about 10 times. Could the hotel be a little understaffed? Breakfast was good for a complimentary amenity. Hot options like breakfast meat, biscuits and gravy, waffle maker, toaster, etc. also fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. Food was fresh. Parking lot was clean and we'll lit and appeared safe. I have stayed in this hotel at least a dozen times, and it is one of the best bangs for the buck in Springfield.

Have stayed here many times. This time there was never anyone at the desk. We left very early on 5/26/25 and there were many young adults running around, smoking weed in the rooms and slamming doors and yelling. When we checked out at 3:00 am, we could not find anyone at the desk area. We also watched homeless people coming in for breakfast. Very disturbing and this was always our go to hotel in Springfield - never again.

A water main break delayed my move-in date for our new house, forcing me to find a local hotel for 2-7 nights & to call each day to see if the place was ready or if I needed to add another night to my stay. I started with a 2-night prepaid reservation on hotels.com for this La Quinta, as I've had good experiences at these hotels thru the years & this one's 3 mi from my house & next to Walmart. When I checked in they said since I was local I had to pay a deposit of 2x room rate as a hold against parties, flights, etc. While my ID's local my husband's is not & he'd be joining me in 2 days after his work trip. They confirmed they'd release the deposit hold when I checked out & wouldn't need 1 if we changed our room to my husband's name. Ok, sounds good. Red flag 1: my receipt for the deposit. Didn't say hold, didn't say deposit, just looked like a regular room charge receipt. Flag 2: by the next morning, that deposit went from a "hold" on my card to a full completed charge. I asked why, weren't they just going to release the hold when I checked out, they said no but they'd refund the charge. I didn't agree to that, & was pissed. Flag 3: Surprise! They never returned that money. Kept claiming they had, could never show me proof. Told me Wyndham had my $. I put Wyndham on speaker to confirm to front desk that they had nothing to do with this. Clerk walked away from desk to back office, called police, had us escorted from property. IT'S A SCAM. NO DEPOSITS RETURNED.

Stayed nights, room was great, quiet. Breakfast was awesome, a good variety of food. Hubby really liked the biscuits & gravy. Only thing I strongly recommend is make sure you lock up your vehicle. We thought we had and woke up the next morning to find items stolen from our truck. Not the safest area and there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Two restaurants and Walmart you can walk to during the day.

I had an ideal experience for my stay.. the room was clean and cool. When I contacted front desk regarding the remote to the tv. Someone came and brought a remote to control our tv. Making the rest of our stay pleasant. We were right beside Walmart make it super convenient to grab snacks

This was a great option right off the hwy to stop at the midway point on our trip to Chicago. Very clean and nicely decorated, it was very comfortable and right next door to a Walmart supercenter for a soda/snack run, perfect for anything that you may have forgotten. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The room was clean and made up well. There was yogurts in the fridge from previous guests?? Breakfast was pretty empty. I ate at 9:00, no biscuits or sausage. The lady running breakfast refilled with maybe 6 biscuits and sausage and then sat down to eat too? A big group came down and I was lucky to get the last biscuit but no sausage left again.

Everything was amazing, the only issue was the breakfast. The juice tasted extremely watered down, they didnt have any gravy for the biscuits, they had run out an hour before breakfast closed. The sausage was good. So were the waffles. So all in all, it was decen.

The pool had too much chlorine in it, it gave me a chemical burn on my face. The breakfast was not good. It didn’t have any scrambled eggs, no protein.only cold hard boiled eggs.

I enjoyed my stay at La Quinta, I typically stay across the street at the Comfort Inn and may do so again. The room was clean, the overall Hotel was fine. Clean, friendly staff. My only complaint was the breakfast. It was Hot, but it was the same every day. Normally not a problem, but my stay was 6 days. You can only eat Biscuits & Gravy or Waffles everyday for so long before it gets old. My only complaint, otherwise everything else was great.

The lobby is gorgeous. That's where it ends. My room had a black smudge across the top of the comforter that was obvious. There was missing trim along the floor and lots of dings in drywall and paint throughout the hotel. The shower had spiderwebs with dead bugs at the ceiling and it wasn't super clean. Breakfast was the least options of any hotel offering breakfast that I've stayed at. The coffee and hot water for tea was luke warm at best. Evening staff outside more than inside. I had to go out and get her to fix my key card. The beds.... they were hard as bricks. Wouldn't stay here again.
