The location is very close to the Sassi, which was my main objective. The parking garage was also very close and convenient. Our room was fine, small shower but to be expected in Italy! All good. Now, let me tell you about the sweet host, so helpful! He set up breakfast for us, baked fresh croissants with jams and nutella, made wonderful coffee and offered yogurt, juice, Matera bread ( the best!) we were a group of 6 filling all of his rooms for the night. Perfect stay for us!

There is no free parking nearby as stated on the website. There are many stairs to go up to the room.The owner of the site was kind but we were disappointed with the place. A room with a very small bathroom and a small shower that is not safe. There is no room service, the room is not cleaned or tidied up in the morning and towels are not changed. The breakfast is minimal with no cheese or sausage. One small piece of butter per guest. Very weak coffee not suitable for Italians. The TV is intermittent and not tuned. We were very disappointed even for a BB could be better !!

Luigi was amazing. Ready to assist with anything. Very passionate and knowledgeable about Matera. Very sweet. Provided us with coffee and croissant along with other breakfast light options . Room was comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you Luigi! Grazie mille! Alla prossima!

Quick walk to Sassi, the castle, and breakfast in the common dining area. If you prefer a bus tour he has options for that as well. We found many food options within 5 minutes and a small fruit shop across the street.
