I love this hotel. Ive stayed here several times. Breakfast is great, the rooms are a perfect size for families and you can walk to everywhere you need to go in Evanston but I was frustrated that our room took a long time to cool down every night. I get there was a heatwave that week but the reason we stayed here instead of with family is to take advantage of the full suite of amenities (which includes sleeping in a cool room during the summer). I was disappointed that their eco friendly thermostats didnt keep the rooms reasonably cool while we were out for the day resulting in a several hour cool down period when we got back.

Evanston was recommended to me as an alternative place to stay as opposed to downtown Chicago. Only 20 mins from the Ogilvie Transit centre in Chicago and also about 45 mins from downtown by Purple/ Red lines. Evanston itself is lovely (located on the lakeshore with a wide range of restaurants, cafes and lovely little shops. It has a nice atmosphere and very safe. The accommodation was very nice, comfortable, clean and safe. The breakfast provided was very good. I didn’t use the gym but noticed it was very well equipped and maintained. There was a lovely patio area on the 2nd floor which was very nice. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend the accommodation for anyone looking to visit Chicago on holiday but wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown. Thank you.

The hotel is old and outworn itself by 20 years. Still DIRTY old carpet in the rooms, horrible breakfast and super rude staff!! I was so bad that we wanted to move out of there and change hotel, But they would not let us change our reservation and get refunded for 1 day. Summer in the reception completely denied it and was a complete ...you know what.... The night clerk Sara was even ruder and couldn't give a hoot about anything else but stuffing her face with food!! Breakfast was continental, and just so bad that any of it that was eatable was toast. Cold fake eggs, cold potatoes and uncooked bacon. Would NEVER stay there again!!!
