voco Sandpiper All-Inclusive Resort by IHG

Property was built 30 or 40 years ago. It’s completely falling apart. The owners are rebuilding piece by piece. You’re staying in a construction site, most of it is completely decrepit. The staff is excellent. The price is absolutely outrageous for the quality of the property.

The location is pretty the property is VERY dated and half is closed. The "all inclusive" is a joke, there is a buffet but only for very limited hours in a very empty dining room. Half the property is closed for renovations

Yes, this place is under renovations but let me reassure you - these folks are ready for you to come and they do whatever they can to ensure you have an excellent experience. AC worked well. Room clean. Housekeeping comes daily. Pools were beautiful. Drinks were excellent. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. If you go hungry, that is on you because they have a lot of selections. In fact, they ran out of chocolate one evening and I was dying!!!! My waitress asked the chef - Chris- if they could find me some chocolate, and he hand delivered a piece of chocolate cake! World troubles were solved! 😌 Thank you! Staff was amazing. Very friendly. Maria, Ashley x2, Cris, Chris, jordan, J, Bianca, alicia, annavelle, Aquila, mallory, larry, and sooo many more - everyone was amazing! Maria even went to get me an acai bowl from lucies!!! Thank you!!! Lucies is available to eat when the dining hall is closed. Lucies has burgers, fish snadwiches, some drinks, and other foods. Bar is hopping!!! Indoors in dining hall or outside at sugar cane. Do karaoke! Pool is open unless it is storming. There is the main pool - very nice and the infinity pool - adults only. 😀 Bring sunscreen!!!! They provide towels and chairs. Lots of classes and activitiies. You do have to walk to your room, but everything is within a reasonable distance. Elevators are not working, but they did offer us help if we needed it for our luggage. Go to the classes! Yoga. ZUMBA. Aqua aerobics. Just go! Have fun!

Even though you can tell theyre in a rebuild stage right now the experience is still enjoyable and worth the price. Everything was clwan and the staff was friendly, the parts under construction werent even an eye sore at all.

Overall had a great stay here. We knew they were renovating so it wasn’t an issue. Most if not all activities were open. Staff was welcoming and very kind. Bartenders were great. Definitely would recommend for a family trip, lots of stuff for kids and plenty of good alcoholic beverages for parents. But wouldn’t necessarily recommend for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. Watersports wasn’t quite what I thought it would be. Reserving online wasn’t working and there was never anyone at the actual watersports tent. If you want a fair-priced, all-inclusive vacation, this is a great spot.

Came here for part of my honeymoon, what a mistake we made. Booked 3 months in advance for them to call me a week before our trip saying some of the amenities were down. When we checked in almost all of the amenities were down. There was only 1 of 3 pools open. The “beach” was only about 15 yards long due to “construction” the all inclusive aspect of it was only to what they had not truly an all inclusive experience. Overall I would say that I wish we would have never spent the money to come here for our honeymoon. It was very disappointing… On top of all of they they tried to charge a $35 amenity fee per day when there wasn’t really any amenities. I would never recommend someone to stay here

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was great with a large variety to chose from. The bartenders were super friendly and always available! Kayaking was fun, although you were restricted to staying in sight from the beach, most likely for safety concerns but it was still nice to go out on the water. The adult pool had great views of the sunset. Overall I was satisfied with our stay and would go again!

While we missed the nightly activities we were used to experiencing at Sanpiper Bay in previous years, the food was still excellent and my kids had lots of fun playing in the pools. The beach likely needs a refresh as erosion and plant growth have taken over.

Upon arrival, I was shocked to find that the hotel resembled a construction site. There were visible signs of ongoing construction, which detracted from the overall ambiance of the hotel. Many of the amenities that I had looked forward to were not available during my stay. Despite showing up as available online, amenities such as kayaking and paddle boarding were not operational, and there were no guests using the equipment. The food options at the hotel were extremely limited. There were bugs in the salad bar, and many items, including the steak for dinner, were unavailable. The bread and dessert were also the same as what was offered at lunch, and the soup was served cold. When I raised these concerns with the assistant manager, I was met with condescending comments and dismissive responses. The assistant manager made remarks such as "I ate dinner here and didn\'t see any issues," "No one else is complaining," and "If you have complaints, talk to Expedia." Additionally, the general manager refused to speak with me directly, choosing instead to communicate through the assistant manager. Overall, our experience at your hotel was extremely disappointing and marred what was supposed to be a special Mother\'s Day celebration for our family. We are deeply dissatisfied with the level of service and hospitality that we received and will not be returning to your hotel in the future.

Visited this property Mother’s Day weekend was hoping to have a great time since we had been there before! Property charged us full price, but did not have any water sports activities available, the Food was very limited with not a lot of options! Lunch and dinner was pretty much the same food! On top of that, the bread was hard as a rock, and there were flies in the salad bar. When we went to complain to the manager, he was super rude and condescending, saying that we were the only ones who felt that way meanwhile at least three other people came up to complain during this time! My family and I didn’t even end up spending the night. That is how disgusted and disappointed we were! Our weekend was ruined and all they could offer us was $35 back for resort fee! SMH never again

Right from the start there were issues. Checking in was a hassle, rates are not as stated on website. Charged $50 per day instead of the listed $39. The room was clean, the bed was very uncomfortable. They use cheap box springs that make even a decent mattress bad. Most of the resort was closed off with fencing or caution tape. The little beach area was not conveniently accessible with about an 18” step down with no rail or handicap access. And, was closed off to less than half the normal usage area. The food was minimal, cold even at the beginning of designated feeding times. I would give this trip a 2 compared to my last stay just a few months ago.

The floor in the room was filthy, the bottom of our feet were filthy, when you got in the shower the tub was dirty from the bottom ofour feet. I told the person at the desk, she said she would let housekeeping know. So they cleaned the floors and poured the dirty water and sand in the tub. The breakfast was cold, and the dinner choices were dry. It was all inclusive but you still had to pay for parking. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

I received blood stained towels, no refrigerator in the room and was told one was being delivered. Expeida over charged me and the entire experience was horrible

This resort was sold by Club Med nine months ago, and the residential buildings feel more like run down college dorms. We had a roach in our room, yellow water while showering, stained towels and tile floor so dirty that my white socks were black on the first day (pictured). For an all-inclusive, there should also be food/snacks on off hours beyond a taco bar where guests were waiting hours for their order. The Sandpiper needs serious renovations and work before you should stay here.

The property was very old and run down. The rooms were quite dirty. It was very hard to get housekeeping to give us an adequate amount of towels for our whole family. Our first room that we were given didn't even have sheets on the beds. Being an all inclusive there wasn't always food available, which was hard with kids. The place is in definite need of an upgrade.

Overall the trip was peaceful. The room was filthy and unpleasant. While in the room I did not feel like I was on vacation. It felt like a low budget emergency motel. I wiped several mystery splatters off of the wall myself with a Clorox wipe. The cleaning services does not pay attention to detail. Food/beverage was good. There is no room service. Pools and bars close early. Visitors must pay for a resort pass even if they are not interested in any activities. We had family close that wanted to stop by and say hello and they had to pay $105 to do so. There is no food allowed in the room. Our toddler was tired and did not want to get up for breakfast. When I inquired about a container, this is what I was told. I would not go back and if I were not there with my husband/children I would have requested a refund and returned home.

I was told if you want to use the jet ski the property offers, there must be another group to sign up in order to do the activity. Very frustrating news after you spend hours of your vacation studying and taking a test for a temporary boating license. Everything about this “resort” is very ok. Scenery is beautiful. Rooms need renovating very badly. No shuttles at the hotel. If you want a couples activity at the spa you should schedule the week before. Our “clean” sheets had mysterious dark stains on it. Our tv in the room was broken however the front desk has fire sticks. The infinity bar is only open weekends now, even though it is advertised as open every day.

Very outdated, beds were way overdue to be replaced. TV in room was way to small for the size of room. Literally could not read any print in screen from bed. Only 1 restaurant and only 1 bar. Buffet food, surely nothing special about it. All the staff was really nice and helpful. Best part of the stay was the taco stand, the lady running it was awesome.

Room is furnished very basic. Large room with large closet. Bed is noisy and uncomfortable.

Items we would change, the bathrooms are outdated, and need tile work, caulk and deep cleaning, shower heads where not functioning appropriately, adult pool bar hours were very limited, better explanation when booking on how all-inclusive alcohol works, possible offer different level alcohol packages.

Staff is great. Food was great. Nice pools. Rooms are very much needing an overhaul. Dated and drab.

Room was a little outdated, color wise and bed was not a true king bed, it was 2 twins poorly put together to create a king but the 2 bed heights did not match up very well...parking a little bit of a ways from room (no parking available in front of our building except handicap). Door to room did not close properly (which we found out after the first night) allowing the small baby May flies or Lake flies (whatever you want to call them) to completely infest our room, (bed, sinks, tub, floor) pretty bad. I had to sweep and clean everything. Told front desk and the guys just said "yeah we are on a lake so".....i said i understand, i live on a lake here in FL too, however i don\'t have them all in my house because my door closes properly. Food was really good, fresh, good quality and was very happy with every employee in the restaurant area. I think some rooms need fixed obviously

The property look nothing like the picture , I felt like I was catfish. It was old and outdated. Marketing should really update pictures instead making people pay for crap.

We really enjoyed our stay. The food was better than any we have had at Caribbean resorts. The employees were wonderful - I took advantage of some morning workouts with Shannon and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Highly recommend all of them! The only drawback is the dated hotel rooms and bathrooms. We understand that there will be a huge renovation coming by the end of the year! I would return, gladly.

Found an onion skin in my food. Staff was rude and ignorant. Was promised half a refund if I vacated the premises early which I did. They don’t follow through. They don’t give you a tour. Instead they give you a map and say have at it! Good luck! Pool was dirty. Housekeeping refused to service my room when asked. I could go on and on! I will be contact the BBB and the attorney generals office.

Property under renovation so the status is the expected under the circumstances but the service and atmosphere is excellent. Only one complain about service is the lady from the food truck at the beach. She is rude and very disrespectful. Totally not in part with the rest of the service received all around. They need to train her or fire her. Everything else is very enjoyable, all drinks and food included. Convenient. Clean

They took too long to give up the room and after they did they gave us the wrong room and they did upgraded us but room was okay nothing fancy but the guy who checked me in didn’t do it right and the checkout was horrible as well

The management was awful. We were promised many different refunds by the concierge due to the pools and many other amenities being unavailable but then was told that was impossible by the manager. We were only able to get a partial refund if we left THAT day while people who only came for a day pass got a day and a half refund. There were barely any people on the resort due to the amenities being decreased but even then they could not offer anything to help with the fact that suddenly the pools were out of order as well other than telling us to leave. Our room also was entered by a staff member without knocking or stating their presence and the best they could do was offer an "upgrade" as our toilet and shower were also not working. It ended up being the same room with a slightly better view. I am extremely disappointed and upset with my stay here and the treatment of all the difficulties that arose during our stay. I would not attend again.

Love the availability of onsite, quality golf on this property. All-inclusive food was a cut above. Front office staff enthusiastically checked me in and helped with my bags. Check-out was seamless.

Way to many kids. We were not told about the sports camps happening during our stay. Mosquitoes everywhere..pool, hot tub, in our room. Staff was friendly. Very disappointing stay.

Very out dated property. The land and location is amazing on the bay/river. With some major updating this could be a 5 star resort.

Beautiful views, staff was very accommodating and friendly. Food was decent. Kids enjoyed it a lot. Would have like a little more variety with the food. However we did like the taco truck style option that was available between meal times. Our view from the room was unbelievable, caught every sunset which was gorgeous! Resort wasn’t busy which I actually enjoyed, was able to relax. Our kids had a nice time at the kids club. We would go again for sure- hopefully they update the rooms. We had four people in our room but they kept refreshing us with 3 towels which was silly. Again- we’d love to come back!

It's beautiful there! We had a great time. With a little TLC it would be perfect! The food in the buffet was ok. Seemed to be the same stuff pretty much. The staff and the bartenders were awesome! We had a beautiful room. Would definitely go there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. You can tell that improvements are being made and we look forward to seeing how things change. Some suggestions: *Make the foot washes off the beach more obvious so that we don't track as much sand onto the property and into our room. Mats at the doorway to take off shoes and capture some of the sand. *Send guests a copy of the daily activities. App? *Lengthening the buffet hours so that there is more time that food is available and/or change the Lucky Lime menu to provide snack items rather than two meal options. *Provide yoga in addition to the current fitness options. *Add mani/pedi options to the spa. Things we enjoyed: *Kids club was available to come and go. We didn't recognize that from the hours posted for registration, but it was. *Access to drink machines (coffee, soda, water) at all times. *Our daughter loved the circus school. Both instructors were wonderful. *Access to kayaks and paddle boards. *The beach and sunset view from our room was amazing. *Room key/buffet access on the wristbands. So nice to not have to carry a key card around with us. *Buffet food was good and there were plenty of options.

This property needs to be maintained . Breakfast are good but nobody serves you, tables are dirty I have to put it by myself. Lunch and Dinner terrible. Cold, bad presentation and again nobody is there to take care of that. Outside the adult pool was terrible, The kids pool were closed and dirty.

Staff is not so friendly. Looks like Wyndham doesn’t take a good care of the resort. Food is ok. It could be better. I definitely won’t come back.

High quality food, room had a distinct old odor, room had many cosmetic defects of wear and tear, no ice machines exist for ice in room, nice pools and bar area, family oriented atmosphere & live daily band. Limited drink options to include up-sell choices. We enjoyed our stay.
