Cerritos Beach Hotel Desert Moon

A basic, adequate room situated next to gorgeous Cerritos Beach. Decor and furniture a bit dated; kitchenette, coffee maker and refrigerator are modern with limited pans, utensils for cooking. The free breakfast was coffee, scrambled eggs with ham. More options on menu for $$. Nice small pool in outdoor bar/restaurant area. Location on Cerritos Beach is outstanding!! Several small cafe/bars on beach serve good food and drinks. You can rent surfboard, chairs, umbrellas, take lessons, play volleyball, swim, walk, fish, explore. A laid-back, happy, friendly vibe for all ages.

The property is accessible by lots of stairs which make for great views of Cerritos beach. The rooms are clean and have comfy queen bed, bathroom with shower, mini kitchen with refrigerator, Stove, microwave, toaster, sink, pots and pans, dishes, dish drain. The decor is a modern, cool concrete with artsy painting. Breakfast is included with coffee and three choices of quesadilla, eggs with ham and homemade tortillas, or eggs with refried beans. There are extra items on menu to buy for breakfast and lunch and dinner too. The hotel is a short walk distance to the sandy beach which has swimming, surfing, restaurant, dj, surfboard rentals and lessons, beach chair and umbrella rentals, massage on beach for hire. We spent three days on beach chair under umbrella just relaxing. You can walk or run the beach for miles and miles. If you want to walk more you can try out the ten or more restaurants/ bars or drive to them. Also three mini markets in town. Coffee shop where you can adopt dogs. Awesome pizza restaurant. Also restaurants on beach if you want to explore with ocean views. The neighboring town pescadero has farm to table restaurants, breakfast restaurants, ice cream. If you want to go twenty minutes check out todos santos for authentic Mexican vibe and shopping plus restaurants and beaches. This is my third time visiting the hotel.

Surfers paradise! We loved this small surf community with complimentary eggs and ham for breakfast. Not wheelchair accessible all rooms are stair access. Beach has chairs, umbrella and surf lessons for rent. We would totally stay here again and had a great experience!!!

Property has a nice location close to the beach - the staff were great - super friendly. However don’t expect a comfortable bed or deck lounges - the bed sucked !

No TV or radio. It is just a plain room with Microwave, coffee maker with no coffee. Checking out 7:30 am is impossible. Gate door is secure and no one is there.

Moved to this property when the water pump broke at our original hotel. This is decent / nice place with views of Playa Los Cerritos and walkable to the beach. Our original hotel had a modern boho vibe with more of a luxe feel; Desert Moon is more like a surf motel with a casual, modest vibe but the advantage here was a small kitchen with microwave coffeemaker. A huge plus in an area where it's hard to find coffee earlier than 8am! Good size room for two people and comfortable beds. Be advised that you may be walking up several steps (with no railings) to your room. The stairs are somewhat lit at night but it can be pretty dark in Baja so have your phone's flashlight ready.

The staff was wonderful and so nice. It was in a great location, just a short walk to the beach! Could have used shampoo and conditioner in the room (beach hair), but soap was provided. The rooftop deck was a great spot for sunsets and the infinity pool was refreshing. Breakfast was provided and the food was good.

Cerritos is amazing! If you love surfing, Desert Moon is the best place to stay. You can see the waves from your window and step outside right onto the beach. Jaun, the Riptide Bar's bartender was so fun to hang out with and makes the most beautiful margaritas!

Cerritos beach itself is gorgeous really but has become way too busy. The hotel desert moon was overpriced, and we were only given 1 roll of tp for 2 people for three nights and the towels (and bedding) weren’t changed once during our stay. There is no garden area or laundry facilities as advertised. Otherwise the breakfast included was nice to have in the morning, simple but still alright, and the staff were pleasant.

La ubicación es muy conveniente para disfrutar de la Playa de Los Cerritos, saliendo del Lugar esta muy sucio, huele mal. Las instalaciones estan algo descuidadas, las sombrillas del restaurante no funcionan. Incluye desayuno aunque es bastante limitado. Dentro de las habitaciones hay falta de mantenimiento, la cerradura de la habitación era un dolor de cabeza, es un hotel muy básico, con poca atención al detalle, bueno si solo quieres dormir y pasártela en la playa. El personal amable.

Antes era clienta de este lugar por su ubicacion facil acceso a la playa las camas comodas tido se veia muy bien, desgraciadamente en esta ultima visita todo se ve desgastado las sabanas y colchones sobretodo y tienen un olor a sudor que hace dudar de la limpieza de la cama, nos vinieron a sacar de la habitacion antes del tiempo de check out, cuando hicimos el check in, en la recepccion se nos quiso cobrar mas dinero de lo que expedia decia que por el tipo de cambio y no se que tanto es un abuso que disque segun por el tipo de cambio que segun ellos mantienen el mismo tipo de cambio desde hace 2 años nada justo para nadie esas cuentas raras que hacen

Esta bien la cercanía a la playa , es limpio y los alimentos bien .

Staff is an excellent team, they were very helpful during checkin, breakfast and checkout. Room was comfortable, clean, and well . maintained. Art is everywhere by the way. Surely I will stay at Desert Moon again

Lamentablemente hace falta mantenimiento, la vista es buena pero les construyeron enfrente un armatoste de concreto… a unos metros de la playa.

La vue est superbe mais seulement pour quelques chambres Malpropre, mal entretenue et surtout personnel qui souffre de je m’en foutisme Vaut mieux investir un peu plus et être content

I liked how close it was to the beach and the view. The hot water was limited however it got it done. The falling stars at night was amazing! :)

It was outdated but a pleasant location. The communication was severely lacking, overall a fine experience.

Our booking stated payment in full on day of arrival. But 2 days prior we were asked to pay in full or „ we can’t guarantee the reservation „. We spent many hours getting this sorted out as we had no wifi (travelling in remote areas). We had several phone calls with the hotel and they said we would lose our reservation. When we got there, the hotel was only 20% occupied.

I'd really like to give this place 5 stars...but I paid a deposit through Orbitz to make my reservation and despite having my receipt for the deposit payment clearly showing the balance due at the property - they said they didn't show a deposit being paid and required me to pay the full amount in order to stay. I will amend this review in the event they reach out to refund me the deposit which was paid twice.

Habia una persona que al parecer era el encargado, llego borracho gritando que no se pueden dejar hieleras en el restaurant, por ningun lado dice que esta prohibido, y si la dejamos era por que veniamos llegando de la playa, ademas estabamos dispuestos a consumir como lo hicimos la noche anterior pero despues de esto no volveremos.

Amazing stay for us. Ocean waves are a constant soundtrack. Probably the most relaxing, and efficient beach vacation for us yet. Between the beach views, the killer cocktails, that bomb ceviche, and awesome staff...it was perfect for us. We'll be back.

The bar with Aaron and kitchen were excellent in all ways, clean comfy rooms, one minute to the surf Beach at Cerritos.
