A really nice stay in the Sassi, Matera. The view from the room and the shared terrace was amazing. It was fairly easy to aceess and to walk around to different spots. The staff was very helpfull and kind. The breakfast was simple, but there was some nice options. Felt like I was at someone’s home in a good way. Recommend.

We really liked this hotel . The design, decoration is amazing and my daughter kept saying she felt she was sleeping on the moon due to the stone ceiling .the location is also great in the middle of the sassi. It was a great experience and would highly recommend it

really unique stay, excellent room, everything i was hoping for, very friendly staff made everything easy. Oreo deserves a raise :) the balcony view is phenomenal/ the breakfast is top class. someone was on hand to take hot drink orders then the my highlight of my trip was at this breakfast, some olive bread, i dont know what it was or how i can get some more in england but im craving it now im home. we got a city map also at check in which will now sit framed in our toilet at home (we love city maps at check in) the bathroom was great (had a moisturiser/body cream) which is always the sign of a great hotel/stay in my opinion. we got very unlucky with rain and got drenched which meant our shoes were waterlogged, with no radiator or heating this made drying them a nightmare so resorted to using the hairdryer. unfortunately a couple of ants had made their way into the bed but i had noticed this in other places in italy recently, so this doesnt take anything away from the room or stay but i always try and include a negative to any reviews and maybe this can be checked in future.

Lovely place to stay in Sasso Barisano! Access was a bit tricky for older folks with heavy cases, but you have to expect stairs (and lots of them) in Matera. Beautifully renovated, spacious and well equipped room. Comfortable bedding and sofa. Nice continental breakfast was supplied.
