The Golden Retriever Security as well as the all the Staff were exceptional. The hot tub closes at 8pm. Definatly an issue. It is soo dark in many guest areas. Not a fan of that. The resort needs some love in the hallways, stairs, bathrooms, and pool area.

We enjoyed the warm, indoor pool, but there were no towels at the pool. My husband went to the main desk to ask about towels, and he was told that it had been a busy day and the towels were in the wash. Well, apparently they need to buy more pool towels, so they have a bigger supply! Also, our room was modern and clean, but the bathroom had very poor lighting, and there was no place at all to hang any towels.

We had the most relaxing vacation here. We will definitely be back! I loved being directly on the beach and hearing the waves at night. The restaurant is excellent. The lake is clear, sandy bottomed and not busy or crowded. Plenty of restaurants and shops within 10 minutes. You can rent kayaks paddle boards and boats. The cabin was slightly dated. The beds were actually comfortable.

Stayed only one night on a college visit. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Setting and lobby are gorgeous, room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. I didn't need dinner the night I arrived, but the dining room looked tempting.

We stayed for a birthday weekend. Service was good and everyone was friendly and welcoming.The room was a bit dated but it was very clean. A few things we noticed were that the table was broken and made cutting the cake and feeding kids hard as it kept spinning a wobbling. Beds were lumpy and Murphy bed would not fold back into the wall to give additional party space. The pool was nice but the hot tub had A LOT of foreign debris floating around in it which was kind of gross. We ate at the restaurant which had delicious food and wonderful service. I loved that we could bring our dog but the additional $20 per night was kind of steep as we normally pay a flat rate for him. All in all a nice experience for the kids and myself.

Resort lodge was very nice and well maintained. All staff were friendly and kind! Visit Rocco in the bar- super friendly, great service! Continental breakfast was basic plus waffle maker.Pool/ hot tub is accessible to public for fee and were ok but locker rooms were very dirty and near toilets a strong sour-urine smell. Cabin 39 is very good size and beds were comfortable, but duvet was very thin and request for extra blanket brought a single layer fleece throw, not a bed blanket. Cabin 39 was serviceable but very worn out & feels like it will be unsafe very soon! The floor is literally sinking in the middle of the living room..it is bouncy/gone soft. Everything slopes and cabinets are full inches away from walls, windows don't work well- cranks fall off & screens fell out. Electric oven looks newer but bakes unevenly, berber carpet long overdue for cleaning or replacement. Dishwasher worked fine, fridge shelves are cracked, washer and dryer old but worked ok ( hot wash cycle did not work). Cost was high but we booked late for Easter weekend.

The lodge was in very nice condition. Hallways were clean and well maintained. My room was clean and well maintained. It was obvious that the rooms have been renovated in recent years. Everything appeared very new.

The room very musty. It appeared as they had shampooed the carpet and it was still very damp. Room furniture, doors etc from 1970’s and had not been kept in good condition. Large gap at bottom of sliding glass door that a mouse could easily walk in (ground floor). Glass doors horribly dirty. Good-bed and pillows very comfy.

It was very good except the water pressure in our room in the main lodge would suddenly and there would be no water coming out of shower or sink. Happened a couple of times. Told management and they would have had us change rooms but we were leaving early the next day so declined.

We had a 2nd floor room and there were people above us on the 3rd floor. Their floor was very creaky and they were up very late. It was hard to sleep. Next time i'll get a 3rd floor room. Breakfast was great and the staff was awesome. Very helpful.

Our room #43, very dated. Murphy bed, very low toilet, sulfur smell water. We enjoyed the property grounds which were beautiful and relaxing. The restaurant with patio seating was very nice! The free breakfast was greatly appreciated! Overall we would stay here again in the newer part of the hotel!

It was rustic and beautiful with a nice combo of restored architecture with modern touches. Beautiful grounds, lake view and nice dining areas were all pluses. There were 2 significant problematic areas that if fixed would have made this a 5 star review. The bathroom sink drained slowly and had a huge crack in the basin. The hot water smelled horribly like iron and sulphuric acid. The orange juice at breakfast tasted like that tap water. Not a good way to start the day…

The walls are paper thin. Very loud people on both sides of us sounded like they were in our room with us. Called a noise complaint and no change from the loud ass people on both sides. Left a message at the front for the owner/manager and no call. The property is beautiful, the food was great. Our waitress and bartender both amazing and the front desk employees very friendly.

In addition to the lodge being quiet enough for me to get a spectacular night's sleep, the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even leaving the desk to help me find my cabin when I got lost at night in the dark. Also, I arrived five minutes before the restaurant closed, and they were still willing to fix me a late dinner. If I'm ever traveling to Bemidji again, I will definitely stay here!

We rented a room on the third floor 310, right next to the second floor bar evidently, our first night there was a Saturday night and it’s a party vibe at the resort on the weekend according to an employee. Sunday night was quite and no noise disturbances. Saturday night we ate at their restaurant which was very busy. We saw our waitress once when she took our order, someone else brought our food, and nobody came back once to check on us to see if we needed anything else, not even to give us the bill. Next day we told the manager so we could pay for the meals and come check out they didn’t even give a discount on the meal service, nothing. I’d say this place needs help.

Very kind staff. They let me check in a bit early due to the fact that I was waiting for repairs on my vehicle and was stranded. Lovely area; safe, great main complex and cabins, which were spacious and inviting. Book early and be aware of the late check-in time of 5 pm. Not sure if that's normal but it seems a bit late compared to other places.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating overall. One thing that did NOT fit the whole experience was the breakfast. There was NO staff available to assist. We didn't know how things were to go. It would have been nice to have an option to order meat or eggs, or just have that option. We needed some assist and i practically had to walk into the kitchen to get this. It was not a great experience compared to other hotel's breakfasts and cost/ night here is considerably more expensive.

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night as part of a mini-family reunion. We liked the waterfront location, outdoor dining, fishing /boat dock, and overall lodge-like atmosphere. The rooms had been updated in terms of flooring, paint, and walk-in showers. It was nice to have a mini-fridge in the room and a small deck. Views were superb. Decorating was haphazard and poor. Furniture was outdated Bathrooms were not equipped with towel bars. Only two towels were left and we had to request more. Soap was a mere sliver. Walls were thin, and rowdy guests at 1:30 am disturbed our sleep. Food quality was good—especially burgers and pizza! Rooftop bar was enjoyable. Continental breakfast was a line-up of carbs—no fruit or protein. For over $300 per night, I expected more. You pay for the lakefront location.

Everyone from Matt at the front desk, to Karen at The Cove, (the resorts great dining room), were amazing. Beautiful and picturesque, yet comfortable and relaxing too. Nothing like Walleye tacos served out on the outdoor dining area, overlooking the lake. Wonderful stay, we'll be back.

We don’t mind an “old lodge” fell, but the room was quite outdated, shower was rusty and carpet was stained. Balcony wood was in poor shape, didn’t go out there. Breakfast was minimal, hard boiled eggs were old and yolks turning blackish green. Lobby was great, bar was good. Views were beautiful. Lodge dog was a bonus for the kids.

We have stayed at this resort before- love the kake amenities, the lidge on our last stay was better than our cabin stay this time. This cabin really needs updating.
