Very welcoming, forgot to specify that we needed the kids beds to be made up but the lovely lady in reception even come over to our room to ask if we needed her help to make them! Has even gone out of her way to courier something back to us that the kids left behind. Great location and the heated pool was a great bonus! Thank you🙂

Staff very friendly, clean and tidy. My only issue is they advertise that they have a pool and spa but they have shut it down until it can be repaired/renovated. It would have been nice to know before we got there as we had children wanting to swim, that was one of the main reasons for choosing Ika Nui.

Great location, stunning views, very easy walk to restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking for us. Quiet units, didnt hear noises thru the walls. Deck was a little slippery in the rain. Unit was lovely and warm. Pool was nice and natural spa was lovely in the cold weather.

Spotless and well equipped. Had first story room near the front. Have to share steps with another room but you can work out the privacy angle quite easily. Used the BBQ, which was well placed. Unfortunately, we did not have time to use the pool and games room (includes table tennis and pool table). Near to town. Wished we had stayed another night.

Nice and roomy apartment, however a bit worn with lamps that don’t work, door lock to bathroom broken, etc. “Spa” area not very nice, not clean, jacuzzi not working, lamps not working. Need serious renovation. Nice location next to the beach for a morning swim. However, overall much too high priced.

Very limited parking and was very exposed to the public walking/driving by at night but all the parking was full so had to park our car over the road in the street out in the open at night. Kept getting up in the night to see if our car was still there or not broken into.

This was a great place to stop for a couple of nights in Taupo. The proximity to the lake and town centre was fantastic - an easy and pleasant walk. The unit was very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the access to washing machines. The games room could do with some maintenance and upgrade of facilities (eg the ping pong table had no net, there was no chalk for the pool cues.) Nevertheless we had some fun games with our seven year old, and had an enjoyable stay.

Nice and close to the waterfront and shops which was great. First impressions weren’t very good as pretty much all the dishes were dirty and required us to do a load on arrival. Tables hadn’t appeared to have been wiped down either. We had booked the deluxe apartment and had paid for a fifth person however there was no fifth bed made up. Apparently this had to be requested which the receptionist said we should have been prompted for online (I never saw this). I imagined this would have just required some initiative or common sense. Bedroom with the queen bed was nice but got quite cold at night which was not ideal for baby in portacot. The heat pump didn’t quite heat up that room. However, reception were happy to lend us a heater for the second night.

Well appointed, very clean and everything you would ever need for a longer stay. Unit was very spacious and nice gardens. Staff were very welcoming. Located right on lake front but wasn’t bothered by any street noise.

Carpets were stained. The mat by the front door was disgusting. The sofa bed was an insult to the price we paid. The blanket on the sofa bed was substandard. Very disappointed considering the location is perfect. Advertising is very misleading.

We had one of the front rooms so we got the most amazing view of the lake from our living room. It was awesome with some super gorgeous sun sets over the lake.. totally stunning. The downside to that was the foot and car traffic was super loud in the room - especially on Saturday night the noise from the street was super loud and went till very late. I didn't realise Taupo had become a bit of a party/pub scene. The lake is so stunning and still that the rah rah party doesn't really fit or make sense. Our room really needed a deep clean from corner to corner - it was tidy and neat and we had everything we needed - kitchen was excellent with good quality cook wear and utensils. Laundry facility was good too.

Great hotel across the street from the lake. Close to the famous airplane McDonald’s, but grocery stores are about a 10 min. walk away. Reception was kind enough to hold my luggage until my room was ready. I would happily stay here again!

I booked a lake view room but they gave me a partial lake view room, which cannot see the lake from the room. I asked to change my room to lake view. But they tried to lie to me and said the room is a lake view room, not partial view room. I checked both rooms before making a booking, so knew they were lying to me. After I complainted they are lying to me they changed my room. Worst accommodation ever.

We have stayed here before hence the reason for returning but unfortunately after a guarantee from the hotel that we would be refunded over 500 dollars due to excessive cost we’ve now been told that won’t happen. The whole handling of the affair is very disappointing and we’re still hoping that the problem will be readdressed to a satisfactory solution. Thanks
