checked in Friday afternoon, elevator was working. Came back later that evening elevator was out of service. Was out of service for the duration of our 3 night stay. Had to demand towels & take our trash to the dumpster when we checked out. Staff was friendly but will not stay here again.

Exterior of hotel littered with PILES of cigarette butts- all around the entire exterior. I was on the top floor yet cigarette smoke filtered in through the (non working) fan in the bathroom. I was there for 6 nights but complained the last 2 nights, because I have asthma and couldn't breathe or sleep. Staff seemed disinterested on the whole. The only bright star employee was Sodi, at the front desk. She was welcoming; friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She was able to provide great customer service with a smile. The Maintenance man Bob was rude to me upon my arrival and threatened to call animal control, since my dog was in my vehicle while I unloaded my belongings for my stay.cm Upon inspecting my hotel room, there were lightbulbs in the bathroom & kitchen that needed replacement. The fan in the bathroom was inoperable. Bob (maintenance) mentioned that 1/2 of the bathroom fans of the hotel are not working. The toilet also clogged the 2nd day and water overflowed. Maintence needed to use an auger to release the clog. The floors in the room were definitely not mopped before my arrival, as my socks were filthy, when I walked in the room with just socks on. I bought my own cooking opan at a nearby store, as the New Manager mentioned the hotel did not have pans to give to guests. (*Even though it is advertised). I also had to purchase my own cleaning products, dish soap, sponges and mop- so I could maintain cleanliness. Housekeeping is only done after guests stay is 7 days.**

The hotel, staff, and my room were all fantastic. My only issue was that I searched for a hotel that had an indoor swimming pool and this one came up in the search. I was disappointed to learn that the hotel USED to have a pool, but no longer. The websites should be updated.

We had to leave because the advertised fast internet was non existent and the beautiful pool was missing. No proper lighting in the elevator the door had a mind of it's own. Our stay lasted lest then an hour and we left.

Elevator was not working. Staff even did not apologize for inconvenience. Passages are smelly and not cleaned. No ice machine. Very very limited breakfast - only few bars and oatmeal. Not sure this should be advertised as breakfast in luded.

The rooms are outdated and need to be painted, furniture is torn apart and scratched up, appliances are outdated, it says there a pool/access to a pool and THERE IS NOT, the elevator is broken so carrying a baby in his stroller was terrible. Had a guest literally feeling up my mom trying to coerce her into his room and told the staff they did nothing about it !

The furniture in the room look like it came from a dumpster a ripped up recliner chair with stains all over it. The towels did not look clean just put back on the shelf. Still had somebody else’s pubic hairs all over them. The bathtub was full of hair. Would never try to take a nice hot bath in this place. The one good thing I can say is the front desk Staff is very friendly.

I wish I never stayed there! The dishwasher has dirty dishs and the bed was stained yellow. Not only was the bed full of crumbs but it had lots of hairs. I will never forget the smell as it is a cross between cat pee and mold....

So grimy; blood on the shower curtain & mattress cover, hair in bathtub, beds didn’t have a heavier blanket and was just two sheets. Towels were stained and discolored. Looked like homeless people were staying/living here and the smell of cooking lingered through the hallway into our room staying for hours (not pleasant smelling food either btw). If this was $100 it would be easier to accept but over $300 is crazy. This property should have a secret shop type scenario happen so management can see what’s really going on at the property. Do not recommend staying here unless it’s out of necessity.

The floor was dirty, the desk chair and the small couch has holes and scratches all over them. In the morning when I showered I noticed a roach that was on the wall next to the sink. Disgusted, I implore that people don’t stay at this hotel.

Our room was not very clean. Dirty floor, long black hairs on the comforter (over 10 strands), towels in the bathroom were stained and again long black strands of hair on every freaking towel!!! Even the small hand towels! Absolutely gross!!!

This place is rated at two stars and boy does it show. There were scuff marks on the counters and missing chunks of leather from the chair. The AC didn’t work and I had to be moved to another room. The next room I was moved into had a television that only displayed in the color, purple and lights, which flickered continuously. The Wi-Fi brought me back to the days of dial up in terms of speed, and the sheets were thin paper. nonetheless, it cost me over $200 a night because it was October and I wanted to be near Salem. there is luckily a Walmart literally next-door that you can walk to in about a minute. everyone staying at the hotel was friendly and one desk worker was friendly while another showed extreme attitude for no reason. At one point, the card key access to my door just stopped working for no reason and we had to get new cards. Stay here if you’re desperate and you wanna be near Salem because you won’t get bedbugs, and it’s basically clean.

My room was on the side by the road, so road traffic noise was expected. I slept with earplugs. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, so I was pleased. The room appeared to be freshly painted, and the bathroom was very clean. The location was perfect for what I needed, I’d stay here again.

The staff was friendly at check in. WiFi was absolutely horrible and there were random potent smells permitting the hallway and our room. The recliner in our room looked like it had been torn up by a herd of cats and the bed was super uncomfortable. But for the price… I guess it was fine.

Great priced hotel for our Salem weekend trip. About 20 minutes from Salem itself. Great location overall with a walmart next door and plenty of restaurant options within 5 minutes. Not the cleaned place i’ve stayed, had some bugs in our room as well as an old soap bar sitting on top of the shower rim from previous guests. Room came with fridge, stove top, microwave, etc. Staff was helpful throughout our stay. Would recommend for a short busy weekend.

The front desk was friendly. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were super thin. For a hotel that is for people to stay for an extended period of time, they need to invest in new, more comfortable mattresses and pillows. The chair in the room had a large rip in the bottom cushion.

Given the very high cost of rooms in the Boston area, this hotel offers an excellent value providing basic accommodations. As long as you understand this and don't expect mid-level surroundings, you'll be fine. My only complaint is that the furniture was very worn. That having been said, the bathroom had been newly renovated and the staff was very friendly.

My stay was not great. The room seemed clean enough but very rundown - the upholstery on the desk chair was mostly peeled off, the chair near the bed was covered with a poorly fitted cover that looked to be meant for a much larger chair and was also in rough condition. The towels were dingy and worn but again, they seemed clean. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The "blanket" was the thickness of a sheet.

We booked this hotel last minute for our trip to the Boston area. We got to the hotel around noon and the amazing girls at the desk worked to get us checked in early. We were so grateful for them and their kindness

Horrible experience. The hotel gave our room away because they were overbooked and we were a “late check-in.” I called before check-in to let them know we’d be later than 3pm. I was told by the manager “well the issue is that we’re over-booked, so it’s first come, first serve.” We were reassured by the manager they booked us a room at their sister-hotel a few minutes away. No problem with that, we understand things happen, we’re flexible. We show up to the original hotel just to confirm with them that they booked our room at the sister-hotel. Front desk staff called, nobody had a reservation for us. At any location. I asked to speak with the manager since she was the one who told me she booked us another room. Front desk staff stated they didn’t have an “on-call” manager. I informed him we drove 6.5 hours and made this reservation WEEKS ago, and already paid. He shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t really know what else you can do. Call Expedia.” I called Expedia, 2 hours on the phone, and they were able to finally find us another hotel. We had to pay tolls and parking fees to reach the new hotel. Expedia paid the difference in price for the hotel room, but not the additional fees we had to endure because Extended Stay handled the situation extremely unprofessional and were unwilling to help us any further than making 2 phone calls.

The staff member would not give me any information about the hotel or room. I said that i needed a step in shower. He said check in and then I could go to my room to see if was satisfactory. I had a tub shower and the room looked beat up. I told the clerk that the room was not what I needed. He said, " I only hand out the room key cards and could not change my room. Asked for room service at the front desk and got nothing. They ask you to get used towels to front desk to change it, wasn't supposed to be delivered to the room? My wife got a towel full of hair, disgusting. The best thing is the location, get quick to Boston and to Salem.

I would not stay here again. The hallways smelled so bad. The staff was very unhelpful. If you needed something they said they would bring it to the room and never do. Plus we had to wait 30 minutes to check in because no one was at the front desk

My stay in Saugus was good. I was in the Boston area for some personal business. The hotel was conveniently located on US 1, not too far from the Tobin Bridge and Sullivan Square to park, while visiting Boston. The bed was comfortable. At the time of year that I visited, I found that having the constant fan on was not necessary. My room had a refrigerator, microwave and an electric "hot hob". I only used the refrigerator and microwave for leftover food. The bathroom was nice and spacious. The shower worked fine, the toilet likewise. Although there was not much of a selection for breakfast, I enjoyed it. At the time I was there, they had muffins and instant oatmeal. The coffee was good. Checkout was simple, just take everything out of the room, and drop the key in the marked box. The next time I return to Boston, I will likely return to this Extended Stay hotel.

Great priced hotel for our Salem weekend trip. About 20 minutes from Salem itself. Great location overall with a walmart next door and plenty of restaurant options within 5 minutes. Not the cleaned place i’ve stayed, had some bugs in our room as well as an old soap bar sitting on top of the shower rim from previous guests. Room came with fridge, stove top, microwave, etc. Staff was helpful throughout our stay. Would recommend for a short busy weekend.

This hotel is a great option. There a lots of dining options and getting to Downtown Boston is very fast and convenient. The overall cleanliness is okay; if you are looking a a little luxury, this is not the place for you. The best part of this Hotel's location is the Walmart right next door. It's very convenient.

Good size of room friendly staff but not the best location on a 6 lane highway. That said our room was quiet overnight. We visited Salem (which was excellent) by Uber for about $25 each way.

The property is conveniently located on route 1 and easy access into the parking lot as well as being located next door to a Walmart considering, I needed some necessities. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Some of the other guests were very noisy when talking late at night, the odor of marijuana in the hallways as well as my room and the barking dogs in the near my room and the rooms are quite dated. I wouldn’t stay there again because I didn’t sleep well due to the noises.

The bed was not very clean there was trash in the bathroom and chewing gum stuck to multiple surfaces. If we were in the room much we would not have been comfortable with staying. The first front desk guy was also on his phone the whole time while checking us in. A minor complaint is that dry oatmeal should not be listed as a complimentary breakfast.

Alot of smokers standing right by the entrance doors. The furniture in the rooms were torn and tattered. If you needed utensils or plates, you would have to go to the front desk and ask for some, even though in the room you had a hot top stove, a microwave, a sink? They don’t alert you of that beforehand. The breakfast offered as a perk is a very poor offering. Oatmeal, coffee, a .25 cent mini bagged muffin. “That’s it” McDonalds 50 yards away thankfully …

the breakfast is a grab and go, not much. It was oatmeal, hot chocolate, coffee, hot tea a couple of days they put out little muffins, or breakfast fruit bares. I wanted to let you know in case you think they have a decent breakfast.

The place is ok, but don’t get fooled by the free breakfast : coffee, granola bar (kellogs) or Quaker oatmeal that you do in a cup of coffee. We had to go to Dunkin Doghnut because it wasn’t enough.

Recliner in room was broken and leaning to one side with worn and torn covering. TV gave everything on it a blue color and needs replacing. Free breakfast was a choice of two granola bars. Pathetic.

The place was a bit run down. You can't make much of an impression when the light in your primary elevator is out and, as a guest, I was staying on the 4th floor. The ride up in the dark was different. The man who checked us in and the woman who checked us out were both very friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Excellent night staff, but nothing in the room. No dishes, cups, etc. There is ZERO water pressure and that one thing alone means I won’t be back. But the hair all over the bathroom was nasty.
