Placid Hotel Design & Lifestyle Zurich

Ich probiere gerne Hotels aus. Diesmal war dieses Hotel in Zürich dran. Generell ein schönes und modernes Hotel. Die Lage ist okay. In der Umgebung befinden sich Gewerbe Objekte und nebenan ist ein Betriebshof der Straßenbahn. Aktuell etwas lauter wegen Baustellen. Rezeption und Service war top. Nun kommt mein einziger Kritikpunkt. Ja, es ist bekannt, dass es in der Schweiz etwas teurer ist und das parken im öffentlichen Raum begrenzt ist. Jedoch finde ich 25 Franken für 24 Stunden parken im Hotel etwas zu viel. Zumindest, wenn man Gast des Hauses ist würde ich mir einen Rabatt wünschen. Wenn man als Gast des Hotels für 4-5 Tage mehr als 100 Franken zahlen muss, finde ich das etwas übertrieben. Ich kenne andere Hotels in Zürich, die ich daher zukünftig bevorzugen würde. Am Zürichberg habe ich in einem Hotel als Gast 10 Franken pro Tag bezahlt. Ich finde, wenn man hier zwischen normalen Besuchern und Hotelgästen unterscheidet, wäre das Kundenfreundlicher. Ansonsten ist das Hotel super und es hat mir sehr gefallen.

Very clean & freshly remodeled room. There was no parking only garage at 20.00 euros a day.

Prachtige hotelkamer met open badkamer en Frans balkon. Leuk uitzicht op stad en bergen. Betaald parkeren, gratis fietsen, gratis kaartjes Kunsthaus en Zoo (alle indien vooradig, niet te reserveren). Centrum Zurich eenvoudig en snel bereikbaar per fiets of ov. Ontbijt 29 cfr., dineren mogelijk. Gratis fitness, lounge en dakterras. Koffie en theefaciliteiten, geen koelkastje op de kamer. Lift tot in de parkeergarage.

Hotel is amazing however is located in a remote location. Inside restaurants and bar are top notch.

Ein Hotel, in das ich gerne zurückkehre, wenn ich geschäftlich in der Gegend bin, mit einer guten Anbindung an die Autobahn und einer praktischen Garage.

Interesting hotel in the outskirts of Zürich... we were not informed thatvthe restaurant was closed on Sundays so we had to walk around the area to find something. I would probably use Uber Eats... didn't pay for the breakfast as it was amazingly overpriced...

Good location, fitness center, hotel close to tram

Très bon moment passé à l’hôtel, une nuit des plus reposante. Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de propositions de repas les soirs de week-end cela dit.

Concept Hotel assez surprenant mais proposant tout le confort d'une grand dans un designe moderne. Personnel accueillant. Restaurant avec de bons produits. Petit déjeuner buffet simple mais bien. Localisation plus difficile à trouver. Parking.

Hotel was bery modern and about 20 minutes drive from the city center. An Uber ride is about $20 CHF but a taxi is $60CHF to get to the city center. We learned the hard way! The food was good in the restaurant and the breakfast was plentiful. We were surprised by the moving window in our bedroom on the eighth floor! It actually opens up about a foot to let in outside air, and there is a barrier in front of it, of course. The staff was super friendly and helped us with any questions we might have.

Tolle Unterkunft mit schöner Aussicht. Alles war gut, nur eines nicht, dass das Zimmer nicht gemacht wurde.

Hotel is located conveniently from the tram and close also to a small supermarket. Check in was quick and good lift access. Room was excellent, comfortable bed and a nice hot shower. Quiet, clean and warm.

Minimalistic theme grew on me. Loved the breakfast. Tram and bus stops about 3 blocks walk - very good access. Dust bunnies on the floor under the bed. Other than that very clean. Face clothes included with towels. Safe location.

This hotel presented exactly as it was advertised. The rooms were quiet, had a wonderful view and were updated. The staff was very helpful and always smiled. The breakfast buffet was top notch, as was the restaurant. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling.

The tiles in the shower and toilet are stained

Das Hotel an sich ist ganz nett. Die Menschen an der Rezeption waren freundlich. Das Zimmer an sich schön, aber die Fliesen sind unpraktisch, da man Flecken sieht (kein Schmutz, irgendwie von Renovierungsarbeiten). Da sieht unsauber aus. Im Bett habe ich ein langes schwarzes Haar gefunden. Rundum alles in Ordnung, für den Preis (150€ pro Nacht, Einzelzimmer) hätte ich etwas mehr erwartet.

Das Hotel hat eine sehr schöne und ruhige Lage. Zudem liegt es ca. 5 min Fußweg von einer Bahnhaltestation entfernt, die eine entspannte und schnelle Möglichkeit bietet direkt in die Stadtmitte zu gelangen. Das Zimmer war sehr ordentlich und sauber und mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick auf die Schweizer Alpen. Das Personal war immer sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Auch das Frühstück würde ich jedem empfehlen. Lecker, große Auswahl und günstig :)

Beautifully designed and maintained hotel at a reasonable price. Our room was very clean and spacious with large floor to nearly ceiling windows looking out over Zürich. The staff was very courteous. We arrived early and were allowed to check in as our room was ready. Overall, a wonderful experience.

The fact that you can’t find the no air conditioner in the rooms on the website is false advertising. Will never stay there again. The rooms don’t have air conditioning, and they don’t have fans, you have to request one from reception. I stayed just one night and left as early in the morning as I could because I was on the 10th floor and my room was very hot. I won’t recommend this hotel because they say it’s about being eco friendly when in reality it’s the company being cheap and trying to save money at the expense of their guests. Not the type of hotel I like to give money to.

Temiz ve konforlu, Şehir merkezine uzak, oda tasarımından dolayı aile ile gidilen seyahetkerde duş almak sıkıntı. Açık duş kullanılmakta, rezervasyon yapacaklar bu ayrıntıya dikkat etmeli. Aile ler için sıkıntılı bi durum. Otoparkı ücretli, günlük 25 CHF. Kahvaltı az ama yeterli. odalarda buzdolabı yok.

Quick stop in Zurich and this fit all the bill. Amazing view from the room, easy to navigate public transportation, comfortable location.

I really enjoyed my 6 day stay at Placid. Reception staff are friendly, polite and efficient. Hotel is within easy reach of town centre – google maps will tell you the best way to travel – but generally it’s a comfortable 20min journey by tram #2. Placid is a great option given its more affordable compared to hotels closer to town centre. The room is nice a spacious – looks exactly like in the photos. Great view from panoramic windows on the top floor. I loved the glass shower wall. The mattress is on the softer side. Cons: no fridge in the room. The bed is on wheels, so every time you move, the bed moves. A side table is attached to the bed, so I would not recommend putting both a glass of water and your phone on there. I was not a fan of the natural yellow/orange wood. Black or white would look a lot more sophisticated and modern. The room was too warm at night and there is no air con. There is a lot of construction work in the area, so a lot of noise early in the morning if you choose to keep the window open. There is a loverly lounge on the 9th floor with Swiss water on tap, kettle and teas. Also, do check out the open roof terrace on the 11th floor - a great way to see the sun set if your room is facing the other way.

Modern room, quiet building and close to the tramway directly to Zurich center (20 min away). Indoors parking spot available. The room was clean, however not confortable. The room lacked airflow and was way too warm (although it was just 10°C outside). We slept with the window opened but still we were too warm in the bed. The room is pretty but no privacy for the shower - I would not recommend it for family travels !

We had booked 2 night stay at Placid Hotel. The only positive features that I can recommend is that a) It's located in non crowded area and has good connections to the city centre. b) The rooms were big enough and the breakfast was good. However I would not book the hotel again for the following reason a) We have to change twice from Zurich HB Station, once by train and again by bus to avoid using a taxi or walking with our luggages b) The hotel room lacks Wifi and we were without Wifi for 2 days. When checked at reception, we were told that there was a fault that they will fix it but later i realised that the rooms were far away from the router. c) The hotel room is ultra modern but who will put a big mirror in the toilet? there were big enough wardrobes that could fit many mirrors! the shower was open without privacy and it's not suitable if you want to stay with a family including young persons. d) There was no airconditioner and we couldn't sleep the last night as it was hot and we were scare to open the window from the 10th floor as it open vertically leaving a big opening. e) Most importantly there was a fire alarm on the 24th august and all guests had to run down the stairs at 5am from the top floors and be at the open ground with scanty clothes for 45 minutes. We were told that the hot shower triggered the alarm that the fire brigade had to come and close the incident. We then had to climb 10 floor as lifts were not be used. Our sleep was disturbed and so had to ca

War nett aber die Zimmer sind nicht herausragend. Das Hotel ist recht hellhörig und man hört sie Rohre. Der Service am Empfang ist extrem freundlich! Das Internet ist leider furchtbar und man verliert oft die Verbindung. Die Lage ist okay. Das Hotel ist sehr gut angebunden.

good location, nice staff, rooms are nice and a good value. laundry is a service provided, in the sense that it is taken from you room and done for you. its very expensive. quite unfortunate. there is also not a microwave or fridge. the wet bathroom is also a little messy sometimes. overall good. close to tram. must shout out the very cool floor to ceiling windows that open.

grosszügige, schöne Zimmer

Hotel moderno em área mais afastada, mas com excelente rede de transportes públicos ap redor. Não tem ar condicionado nem frigobar. A janela de vidro tem que ficar semi-aberta para refrigerar o quarto. Como o clima estava frio, não foi um problema, mas em dias quentes, o quarto deve ficar um forno.

El servicio fue muy bueno, tienen un restaurante delicioso y se puede coger servicio público fácil, también venden los tickets para el servicio público al mismo precio q las estaciones.

Staffs are very accommodating and very helpful! Room is very clean,comfortable and large with a seating area.

It was cold at night and I looked for the air conditioner (heater) switch but couldn't find it, so I called the front desk but no one answered. I called every hour after that because it was cold, but they did not answer until 6:00am. The room description says 24 hour front desk service but what the hell is going on?

Great hotel, new with very spacious rooms and beautiful design. Unfortunately the staff was very rude and although they made a mistake with the reservation, they gave us a hard time at the check in.

Overall I had a good stay at the hotel. I booked for two nights in the Panorama Corner room. We arrived late on our first night and they checked us into the wrong room (I think the Sunrise corner room). That room was very small and made the first night uncomfortable. They did fix the issue the next day when I asked at reception, but was slow to provide a working key to move rooms which took time. They did refund part of the fee of the first night to reflect the price difference in rooms, but didn't apologise when I raised the error. The correct room was nice and modern with plenty of space. I did find the hotel difficult to find in the dark. If you travel on public transport it is a short walk, but through a business estate with poor lighting.

This would be a great hotel for a solo traveler but the room was cramped for a couple. The open shower and bathroom sink make it impossible to have a person showering while the other person is sleeping. I didn't like that there is no refrigerator in the room. The fire alarm went off after midnight and we had to evaluate the building. Communication about what was going on was non-existent. At some point, we were able to climb 11 floors to get back to our room. No apologies at checkout. I would not stay here again.

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Very very friendly.

Once you work out the buses, trams and trains, its a good location. Shops and eating places close by. Hotel itself is comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Happy to recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Super Chambre, très agréable et design. En revanche, c\'est plutôt mal isoler, nous avons entendu les employer parler fort dans les couloirs. Je ne recommande pas cet hôtel car nous avons été réveiller par une employée qui est rentrée complètement dans la chambre à 8h du matin malgré avoir mis l\'accroches-portes du coté "Ne pas déranger". Je précise qu\'il était impossible de fermer la porte à clef.

Reception staff were extremely kind. Especially Ramon and Kish, very pleasant people and I had a wonderful stay. Beyond wonderful.

The property is close to an underground rail line making it relatively easy to get around without a car. The hotel is in a business area so there's not a lot to see or places to eat without travelling to town. Staff were excellent.

The hotel has a great view from the tenth floor and has all the features you'd expect from a quality establishment. You've got to know the person you're staying with very well because the shower is in the bedroom and floor to ceiling windows but it's a funky design that we liked. I wouldn't recommend the place if you have young children as the windows do open. The location is maybe a little quirky being in an industrial area, we were happy though, jumping on the train for 5 minutes and walking the last 15 minutes to get from the city centre.

Tivemos uma estadia excelente. Hotel super novo e moderno. O café da manhã é muito bom. O hotel está localizado em uma região bastante tranquila e silenciosa e leva cerca de 15 minutos de Tram até o centro de Zurich. Recomendo!

A bit away from downtown, so you will need to have food before heading back to the hotel. Quite near to bus stop/tram stop, and is about 15minutes away from downtown.

bequemes Bett, grosses Zimmer, sauber, modern und hochwertige Architektur, freundliches Personal, nicht unbedingt zentral aber mit ÖV bestens verbunden und in 15 min im Zentrum.

Frühstück jeden Morgen gleich. Keine Abwechslung im Bereich Wurst/ Käse Hotelzimmer Bett steht einseitig an der Wand. Die zweite Person muss ins Bett vom unteren Ende brabbeln Umgebung keine Restaurants im Umkreis keine Geschäfte nur ein Coop Laden um die Ecke Hotel liegt im Geschäftsviertel bzw. Diverse Verladestationen Anbindung Bus oder Straßenbahn sehr gut. Ca 200 m

My stay at this hotel was disappointing. It bought a bitter ending to my 21 days trip and having wonderful stay at other hotels. The room design was impractical, with the washbasin awkwardly placed at the bed's head. Guest services were poor, often unhelpful and unresponsive. Vegetarian breakfast options were extremely limited, making it difficult to start the day well. Additionally, the restaurant staff was quite rude, which further dampened the experience. I was charged 20 francs for accidentally breaking a coffee cup, which costs only 2-3 francs at Ikea. Despite advertising complimentary slippers, the hotel had none available. They seemed more focused on charging extra fees than compensating for service lapses. Nothing was good about this stay. Overall, this hotel does not live up to its claimed 4-star rating; a 2 or 3-star rating would be more accurate. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and pleasant stay.

The hotel is very nice and modern. Away from the hustle and bustle from city and old town. The staff are very helpful especially Fernandez from the service desk. He helped us to get around the old town and giving easy directions. Food are okay, there are hot breakfast which I think is really good especially being Asian I like hot breakfast.

Our family had a lovely stay at Placid Hotel in Zurich. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We dined at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious. So was the breakfast in the morning. The staff was kind enough to explain how to use Zurich's public transportation, so we used the tram and bus system to visit several sites around the city.
