We ended up leaving this hotel early due to concerns about the surrounding area. While we understood the reservation was non-refundable, we believe the circumstances warranted some flexibility, as we did not feel safe staying for the full duration of our booking. Members of our team observed activity outside the property that made them uncomfortable, including individuals loitering near the entrance late at night. We also had concerns about the safety of leaving our rental vehicle in the parking lot overnight. I had an amazing interaction with the staff they were so nice but our room had Roches. We killed about 6 and my husband said he saw at least two behind the toilet go into a hole. I even plugged it with toilet paper. The pool was amazing and my kids loved it but the roach problem will definitely make us pick another place. When we got there I scrubbed the sink, and bathroom. The bathtub we wore out shoes. I'm an Airbnb cleaner and I didn't have my scrub brush but did what I could with a can of Lysol. We still wore flip flops in the shower

Many of the rooms at this place were not well clean (had some bugs too) and the Wifi was extremely terrible; I couldn't use my electronics in my room due to the bad Wifi. A lot of the furniture wasn't too well maintained (food crumbs in the microwave, fridge, and freezer), and the bathroom had a used bar of soap stuck to the shower curtain. The front desk staff had bad hours (were only open from like 7 AM to 10 PM), and it was hard to get late night assistance, even when I once got locked out of my room after 10 PM. There were also a lot of weird homeless people camping outside the hotel during late nights.

There was drug paraphernalia in the room. The pool is closed and dirty. There was garbage under the bed and dirt on the floor. It was a no smoking room and reeked of cigarettes and had an ashtray on the dresser. When speaking to the receptionist she did nothing to make it right.

Police was disgusting. Dog poop in the hallways flies everywhere. Found roaches and maggots in their rooms. We just left. They wouldn't refund our money but there's no way I would stay there. I'd rather be in jail. You should get them off your website because it doesn't look good for you

My stay wasn’t horrible. There were some damage to the flooring in the room that looks to have been like that for a while. Towels had holes in them. All that I can overlook to an extent but the dead bugs in the drawers and the stains on the blankets and the dirt build up along the walls can not be overlooked it’s seems they go in and run the vacuum back and forth a couple times and they don’t do anything else. The couch was filthy. The extra lock on the inside didn’t work. Only positive thing about the place is that it’s close to a lot of stores and places to eat

This place is disgusting. The tub didnt drain...hair everywhere, Mold and mildew in the main sleepspace. Had to change rooms three times before one was barely acceptable to even stay.

Everything about this stay was unacceptable. The bedspread had holes in it and the sheets had stains on them. There was wet damage on the ceiling that looked like it was going to fall in the bathroom. I never took my shoes off even to sleep. It was that dirty

You get what you pay for! It was very disgusting and nasty! The shower curtain fell down and i didn't even touch it smh roaches crawling around on the floor. The walls in the room are very dirty, the sheets and blankets are very dirty with cigarette holes in a non smoking room. The environment was quiet. I left smelling just like that dirty ass room! I would never come back to the SLUMS! Why have housekeeping if they don't clean!? Next time I'll pay the extra $50 to get a better room!

Hope they checked the room 2083 before i arrived. No phone, smoke detector off the wall, towel rack in bathroom hanging off the wall, coffee maker missing brew drawer, a/c or cover coming out of space.

The lock on the front door was broken, there were several broken items through out the room, no batteries in the smoke detector, and the sheets had clearly not been washed before our stay. For the price…fine but never again.

The air conditioning didint work. The television didnt work. The microwave didint work. There was a half inch gap between the door and the ground. The desk clerk could hardly speak any english, so when I went to request a refund, naturally he wasnt able to help me in the slightest.

Outside the room next to ours was a good and water bowl for a cat. When we got in the room the smell of smoke was overwhelming in spite of asking for a smoke free room. On top of that the smoke detector was taken from the wall and no battery was present. We did get a new room. Initially the smell of smoke was not noticeable but once we turned on the ac it smelled like smoking section in the 1980's. Later I noticed the smoke detector was not in the wall. The shower was dirty. There were burn marks on sheets. The bathroom door was coming off the frame with nails coming out.

Do yourself a favor and pay the extra couple bucks to stay at a nicer hotel in the area. I made the mistake of picking this place because it was the cheapest around and I just needed a bed for the night. Boy did I learn my lesson there.. COCKROACHES IN THE ROOM!!! Air conditioner cord was black and melted and looked like it had caused a fire at some point. Every surface seemed to be sticky. When I requested a refund at the front desk, the manager had the nerve to argue with me about it. I eventually got my refund after a very unpleasant conversation and him having one of his employees "check the room" as if I had somehow damaged it in the 3 minutes I was in there. I was disgusted that I even set my bag down in that room. Like I said, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere if you value cleanliness and customer service!

When we got there they said the price was wrong and charged us double. Then when we got a "no show" notification and extra payment alert they tried to blame us. Expedia called them and they said that the price was the same after starting to us that Expedia was listing them wrong. Don't recommend at all. When we brought it up they tried to rush us out and talked down to us.

There were roaches, the room was dirty and the towels were terribly stained. I asked the front desk for clean towels and express my displeasure, the manager / owner told me to “shut up!” Such a rude man, it was an awful experience. Pay the extra $$ and don’t stay here!

I enjoyed how quiet it was. And how quickly management responded to requests. Only real issue I had was sheets are a little thin so I would suggest bringing a travel blanket if you get cold easily (and I do). But I would recommend to as a good place to stay. And I will be planning a repeat visit. It can be a little hard to initially find as it's directly behind a restaurant. And GPS does not help. I think a sign a little closer to the road might help. But definitely loved the fact that all the food was in walking distance. As far as shopping definitely don't come in late as the area can be a little confusing and harder to navigate after dark as the area where signage isn't very well lit.

Best place to stay in Ashland VA! So many great things about this property, I don’t know where to start. The staff here is top notch, they go above and beyond every time I’m here to make sure my stay is great. The rooms are spacious, clean, and stocked with basic amenities such as soap and shampoo in case you forgot yours! The beds are comfortable, tv’s and other furniture is nice. It’s also quiet and relaxing! Everything you would need is close by, most within walking distance. Once you’re in your room though it is quiet and peaceful oasis! Anytime I’m working within a 40 mile radius I will stay here. The extra travel time is worth the home away from home feeling! 11/10 recommend!

Obviously an older motel/hotel that could use a little updating or something to make it more inviting. Beds/bedding/towels all clean and fluffy. Price was great for a one night stay. Office staff/owner very pleasent and helpful. Only downfall was that it was a cool night and only a sheet and thin bedspread, no blanket. Would recommend and stay again when in the area.

We stated that we would be arriving late, giving a time between 1-2 AM. We arrived at 1:30 and had to go to the adjoining hotel to check-in and were told our room had been cancelled. He gave us a room that looked like it may have or at least should have been on line for a remodel. We didn't want to take a shower because everything was so dirty. We were up and out of there early in the morning as we couldn't leave early enough.

Honestly for the price this place is a bargain. I stayed 3 days two nights and never saw a bug. Heat a/c worked, it was quiet both nights, no body bothered me and smooth check in process. There was no microwave or fridge in the room (probably available) but the food options outside of the room are phenomenal. Great location. Great price. Will return.

The hotel room floor was very dirty. I had to wear my shoes inside to be comfortable. It seemed like it was never mopped or swept. The towels had little bits of hair and stains on them. The bathroom shower handle kept falling off and the shower was cracked in a few areas and had mildew in the caulking. No free breakfast which was disappointing. The room was also missing the deadbolt. I did go for the cheapest hotel, You get what you pay for!
