The property was built in 1901 but has been meticulously maintained. Only one drawback…our room was on the 3rd floor…NO ELEVATOR! And for visitors like us in our 70s it was a challenge. If your stairs-challenged, try for a room on 2nd floor (rms 1 - 7; 8-10 are on 3rd floor). Other than that, this place is very quaint and great!

This is a delightful hotel and lives up to its name “”Charming House”. The renovation done some years ago is very tasteful and skillful and the historic home is in excellent condition. The breakfast is served each morning with handmade pottery and nice linens, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We were told that we needed to park on the street nearby, but when we reported that there were no spaces available they made room in their small adjacent lot for us. My husband and I both felt it was a lovely place for a very reasonable price. It was a lovely introduction to the Azores.

L'hôtel a beaucoup de charme, la chambre était belle, mais le bâtiment dans lequel se situe l’hôtel héberge aussi un bar restaurant et les fenêtres ne sont pas en double vitrage, la chambre était donc bruyante et nous n'avons pas pu y passer une bonne nuit. L’hôtel est bien situé par rapport au centre ville, il dispose d'un parking mais il faut le réserver à part et en avance et il est payant à 5 euros la nuit.

The best looking historic building in Ponta Delgada, with 14-foot ceilings, very helpful staff, fine, sunny rooms, great breakfasts, and parking! Great location near excellent restaurants. No elevator. Most rooms one floor up from ground level.

We spent a fantastic week at Casa das Palmeiras — we loved the small inn feel — beautiful decor and thoughtful touches and warm welcomes — and the great central location. We could walk to any number of cafes, restaurants and shops yet our room was quiet and calm in the evenings for a great night's sleep. Everyone we interacted with was so kind and helpful. Our very early flight meant we missed the last day of exceptional breakfasts — but there was a to-go package waiting for us with treats and juice boxes. Great amenities — extra towels for showers after visiting the iron-rich geothermal pools, that incredible breakfast!, and always available cofffee — were much appreciated. This was a perfect place to launch into adventures around São Miguel and return to comfort each night.

A simpatia dos funcionários não tem igual.... Todos os dias perguntam como estamos, se o dia correu bem, e estão sempre dispostos a dar recomendações de locais a visitar! Pequeno almoço muito agradável, com a variedade suficiente e feito com todo o carinho! No último dia, como tínhamos voo cedo, prepararam-nos uma lancheira take-away! Tem água, chá e café sempre a disposição. Quartos confortáveis. Localização muito central. Estacionamento dentro das instalações por 5€/dia. Única desvantagem é não ter elevador, mas essa informação está devidamente explícita. Um local a regressar!

The house is indeed charming and they provide a lovely breakfast. Linens were top notch! We liked the central location so we could walk to dinner. We took advantage of the reasonably priced secure on-site parking lot. Note there is not an elevator so pack light!

We adored our stay at this incredible hotel. It is located in the perfect place for walking around town and had a private parking lot that is gated. The hotel is extremely clean and classy. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had while traveling! I have Celiac Disease and the women at the hotel prepared me a special plate of gluten free pastries every morning. The attention to detail was so appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay here and would come back to this hotel if ever in the Azores again!

The building and rooms are beautiful and the view from the top floor is spectacular! The staff were helpful and the breakfasts had a nice variety. The Wifi never worked and would keep disconnect which was quite annoying and it is next to a Main Street which was a little noisy in the night times. Overall definitely would stay here again!

Nice location close to everything and walkable. Room was a little tight for 2 people. Washroom was very modern but very small. Bed was very comfortable. A lot of natural light during day and good lighting at night.

Such a beautiful property, room was a good size, had a balcony over looking the street. Bit of noise with people leaving restaurants etc. Location very central, everything walkable. Breakfast was fine, breads, cereal, yogurts, fruit, croissants, ham, juices, pancakes spreads etc...

El alojamiento está muy bien ubicado. La cama es muy cómoda. El desayuno es lo mejor, súper completo y de calidad. El baño un poco pequeño pero cumple su función. Falta algo de espacio para guardar la ropa y papeleras. Está en una calle un poco ruidosa por las noches. El personal es muy amable y eficiente.

The staff at Casa das Palmeiras were extremely kind, helpful, and respectful. We arrived early on our first day in Sao Miguel, and the staff let us store our luggage at the house while we waited. They were even able to move up our check-in time. Our room had an excellent view of the neighborhood below and amazing, high ceilings. There was even a thoughtful welcome snack offered as well as a bottle of water. Every morning, we were served excellent breakfast at the site, including assorted fruits and breads. The staff also directed us to safe and easy overnight parking options. Our stay at Casa das Palmeiras was truly a highlight of our trip.

I had an AMAZING time at Casa Das Plameiras. It is a beautiful building in a great area. My room had a balcony that overlooked the street. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was perfect and everyone was super friendly.

Es ist eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit einem tollen Service: der Empfang war herzlich und professionell, das Zimmer sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und das Frühstück umfangreich und in guter Qualität. Tatsächlich liegt die Unterkunft am Rande der Altstadt, was Geräusche mit sich bringt. Auch das Haus ist selbst etwas hellhörig, deshalb also nichts für Ruhefanatiker.

Loved this hotel so much, so clean, quiet and the breakfast was lovely. We had a fabulous time there. Our plane arrived at 6:45am, which got us to the hotel too early. They were kind enough to allow us to check in a little early so we could get some well-needed sleep. Totally recommend this hotel.

Just incredible! On arrival, Gabriela was kind, informative and polite. The hotel was so charming and beautiful, perfect in downtown and walkable to all areas in that area. Breakfast food was delicious, coffee available all day and staff was so wonderful. We will be back for a longer stay for sure!

This hotel is charming, but there were some problems that made the stay less than perfect. One problem was that the shower in Room 10 was busted (the holder was busted so you couldn't take a normal shower under the showerhead/nozzle... you had to hold it with your hand.) Another issue is that we were woken up near midnight on the first night of our stay by people knocking on the door. It was hitel staff, because they were wondering how we had a key to the room when they still had two keycards in their possession.. we showed them our card, and they realized it was their error, but we were exhausted after traveling for 15 hours, so this was very bad timing to interrupt our sleep. We also found out that the lock to our door wasn't working at all... the room had remained unlocked all day with our possessions inside. Fortunately, nothing happened, but it could have... they had to repair the door lock the following day. After that, everything was fine. Breakfasts were decent and the location is good (be aware you have to climb stairs to get to the rooms.) This would have been a 5 star stay, but the problems we encountered really detracted from the experience.

We spent a fantastic week at Casa das Palmeiras — we loved the small inn feel — beautiful decor and thoughtful touches and warm welcomes — and the great central location. We could walk to any number of cafes, restaurants and shops yet our room was quiet and calm in the evenings for a great night's sleep. Everyone we interacted with was so kind and helpful. Our very early flight meant we missed the last day of exceptional breakfasts — but there was a to-go package waiting for us with treats and juice boxes. Great amenities — extra towels for showers after visiting the iron-rich geothermal pools, that incredible breakfast!, and always available cofffee — were much appreciated. This was a perfect place to launch into adventures around São Miguel and return to comfort each night.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Almost everyone spoke English. They gave us ideas for restaurants and made reservations for us. The breakfasts were very good with lots of fruit and yogurt and cheese and eggs, etc.

The staff were friendly, courteous, and always happy to help. Breakfast was delicious. Our room was bright, airy, and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I return to Ponta Delgada.

El alojamiento está muy bien ubicado. La cama es muy cómoda. El desayuno es lo mejor, súper completo y de calidad. El baño un poco pequeño pero cumple su función. Falta algo de espacio para guardar la ropa y papeleras. Está en una calle un poco ruidosa por las noches. El personal es muy amable y eficiente.

Was just pleasure to stay. Great location great warm helpful staff. I arrived midnight and was greeted by Beatrice All was fine instantly as I had fear of not getting in. Located so close to airport and in heart of old town. Charming old colonial residence. All the mods and cons. Highest ceilings I’ve seen for awhile. I’m guessing 15/16 foot high. Old world.

We adored our stay at this incredible hotel. It is located in the perfect place for walking around town and had a private parking lot that is gated. The hotel is extremely clean and classy. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had while traveling! I have Celiac Disease and the women at the hotel prepared me a special plate of gluten free pastries every morning. The attention to detail was so appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay here and would come back to this hotel if ever in the Azores again!

This was a great location; however at 71 and 76 just too many stairs to walk up to our room and carry our cases (2 flights). Arrived early morning and was able to leave our cases at a cost of 8 euros!! Breakfast was OK but nothing special.

This property exceeded my very high expectations. The property is beautiful, clean, welcoming, and perfectly located for experiencing all that Ponta Delgada has to offer. Breakfast was provided daily, and was very enjoyable with lots of options both hot and cold, including a variety of local cheeses. It really was the most perfect start to the day. Very charming but a few things to mention. We did have ants so we needed to make sure all snacks were put away. Coffee was not good, breakfast was good but not great. Lots of stairs and no elevator. Right in town so very nice and close to everything.
