El alojamiento esta muy bien una vistas increibles, pero tiene un gran problema el 70% del tiempo estuvimos sin luz porque tienen problemas con la electricidad, dicen que es en toda republica pero no,es solo con ellos ya que llevamos 10 dias en republica y nunca tuvimos ese problema

Great place above Samana bay. Not easy to get to (especially at night), but an oasis with incredible views, super friendly staff, good food and pretty access to Samana destinations. Loved private dinners in one of the two towers overlooking the bay. Yoga in the morning. No AC, but the higher rooms didn’t need it at all (fan plus breeze meant we used a blanket at night).

He llegado super cansada en la habitación y no estaba arreglada para el nuevo check in. Tuve que esperar como 1 hora. Intenté mi reembolso pero no pude. He elegido la habitación donde hay la piscina adelante, pero estuve como 3 dias y la piscina estava siempre sucia. La limpieza en general no esta tan buena. Pero para mí, el peor es que el precio no corresponde con las instalaciones. El baño es terrible, pequeño y con materiales de mala calidad. Las habitaciones son muy pequenas, las cortinas siempre a caer. Muy precario para el precio. No vale la pena. Para quien desea hacer fotos para instagram es posible, pero la realidad es otra. No recomendo.

After a disappointing all-inclusive experience in Puerto Plata, Hotel Cocuyo in Samaná was an absolute Godsend. This place is truly one of a kind…understated, serene, and deeply special. Upon arrival, we parked and walked up to the hotel, where we stepped into a cozy lobby that felt more like a thoughtfully curated living room, books on the shelves, the soft glow of sunset in the background, the pool like glass, cocktail glasses clinking gently, and faint conversations in the air. Then the views hit you and they are absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in the Valle room: simple, spacious, and elegant in its minimalism. No TV but with views like this, you won’t miss it for a second. Everything about this place encourages you to slow down and take it all in. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuine. Fellow guests were quiet, friendly, and respectful the atmosphere felt calm and elevated without being pretentious. Mornings were my favorite: coffee in hand, wrapped in the stillness of rain, birdsong, and the distant call of cocuyos. Every corner of the property offers a stunning view, but the miradors are something else entirely, pure magic. This stay reminded me of the Dominican Republic I knew from my childhood summers — raw, beautiful, and unspoiled. Hotel Cocuyo captures captures that essence perfectly. I can’t recommend it enough.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Worst experience ever. When we first walked in there’s was nobody to received us and then a guy comes out very unprofessional saying that there was no system to check me in and that he will give me a room and later on we will figure it out. He took us to the room and the smell in the property was disgusting, no cleanliness at all, the water of the pool was completely green (Yes! I understand it was a natural pool but that water didn’t look safe at all) the smell in the room was awful too. I had a front pool room and right next to the pool there was like a little pond full of worms and frogs. We immediately decided not to stay and the guy in charge didn’t even try to accommodate us or give a refund. I had very high expectations and it was a total disappointment. This place needs renovations ASAP

It is hard to explain how amazing this lodging is. I agree with other reviewers—if you are looking for a five star experience, you need to stay in a fancy hotel in Samana. If you are looking for breathtaking views, a rustic environment, and an amazing element of privacy—you are looking at the right place. Every room feels like it own bungalow, the included breakfast was delicious, and the smash burgers were awesome! The staff was attentive and the view of the bay was second to none. It is a hair raising drive up to the hotel and a hike from the parking to your room (staff will help with luggage) but once you are settled in—YOU WON’T want to leave! It’s great, we already can’t wait for our next stay…

Difficult to find, driveway and parking area very rustic and hard to negóciate this is not for the average tourist, in my opinion the 5 star rating is misleading on the Expedia site

No AC even though accommodations stated there was, the walls of the pools were filled with slime the water smelled gross. The water from the room kept changing in temperature either too hot or too cold, we got burned when we tried to shower. When we spoke to the administration they didn’t seem to care. It was a horrible experience would not recommend this place at all.

This hotel is so beautiful, you really feel connected with nature when staying here. You can see so many palm trees and greenery and even bacardi island from the rooms and viewpoints. You can also hear all the nature around you. We booked the room with the pool and it was stunning, but even if you dont book this one, they have a main pool which is larger and just as beautiful with the greenery background. Only downside is the staff dont speak much english but we were able to communicate fine with google translate. The room itself was basic which was fine for us as it was clean, if youre looking for luxury in the actual rooms then this wont be for you. The place is away from the city and you have to drive through streets with homes of locals to get to it.

Room, staff, pool, and restaurant were all great. Its a beautiful location. Highly reccomended.

Vue incroyable et chambre propre. Le gros point negatif est sur le restaurant : pas de jus de fruit, reponse de l'etablissement "on est en basse saison". Menu du midi, il manquait les 2/3 des accompagnements, après avoir demandé le riz et la salade la note s'est élevé a 10$ en plus. Heureusement que je l'ai vu et que j'ai pu modifier cette erreur. Au final, l'hotel est vraiment beau et le personnel correct. Venir en haute saison, sinon vous n'aurez pas grand chose a boire et a manger

Not only the room, but the entire place was super clean. It was a great experience. We were very well received and the service was delightful. Food and drinks were really nice. The views were something else, we didn't want to leave. We definitely recommend this place to whoever wants to spend a few days away from the city, be relaxed and enjoy nature.

The views from this place were amazing. what was lacking in comfort and updates was overshadowed by the beautiful scenery. the staff was super friendly and helpful. not kid safe.

Me gustó, agradable lugar, tranquilidad y paz. Buena comida y buen trato. Algunas cositas que dependen del gusto de las personas que habría que mejorar. No tienen aire las habitaciones ni TV, 9/10

Poner aires acondicionados en habitación en las habitaciones panorámicas y que el desayuno sea más abierto. Luego todo excelente !

The place is away from the city and you have to drive through streets with homes of locals to get to it.

No air conditioner and hot water takes a few minutes to warm up.

The service was nice, the flood was great and the view was spectacular, our room didn't have air conditioning but we didn't need it.

I don’t think there are enough words to express how STUNNING this property was! My husband and I didn’t want to go home! We wanted to stay here forever! The staff was extremely friendly! Some of the nicest and attentive staff I’ve ever experienced on this island! The property manager is on top of everything and makes sure all her guest are having a great stay! They pay attention to detail! Not only is the property beautiful but the staff also makes this place what it is! Can’t wait to go back!

Me encantó el concepto, pero creo que el precio es un poco alto. Además, el servicio podría mejorar, ya que es un poco lento. Le doy 4 de 5 estrellas. Lo recomendaría porque la experiencia vale la pena y volvería, especialmente si hubiera un descuento.

I loved our stay here! It is a very ecotravel type of trip! It’s a very local area, it is about a 10-15min drive to the bottom of the mountain to the town of samana! There are few English speakers but they’ll do their best to help you get by! We had an amazing time! Really enjoyed our stay, staff was nice, food is really good on resort! — pasta with shrimp was my fav, and my friend really enjoyed the fried fish. 1 (809) 546-7216 This taxi was really helpful the whole time (what’s app) I hope you enjoy your stay!

The views are like no other, amazing micro-climate, peaceful sighting to Samana Bay. Very Friendly Staff, always good to come back to this place.

Ótima comunicação, bem recebidos, hospedagem excelente! Comemos um macarrão a lá carbonara e outro de camarão impressionantes, perfeito. Café da manhã ótimo,.com ótimas opções, muito bem preparados. Atendimento sensacional. A vista para a baía é um bônus sem palavras. Altamente recomendado.
