Hotel muy instagrameable, el personal es muy amable y tienen amenidades que te hacen sentir consentido, como agua fresca, café o te todo el día, gatitos de compañía y 3 albercas. La vista del roof es muy buena y la alberca está abierta 24 HRS, eso es maravilloso. Solo tiene un pero, el ruido de los aires acondicionados es muy fuerte, tal vez fue por la habitación que me tocó.

Hot tub broken which was the primary reason i choose hotel...Javier fat the front desk was great+++ but didnt get a warm fuzzy feeling from other staff members...breakfast was made on a hot plate...bar food in a toaster oven...bar on roof top very limited and drinks not great...i dont recommend this place...

The Alejandro room is beautiful and spacious! Was even better than the pictures! We enjoyed everything about it, from check in to check out the staff were above and beyond helpful. The rooftop pool was ours to ourselves three times in two nights stay. We are definitely going to stay here again :)

The hotel has history and considerable style, beauty, and charm. However, it is in need of updates or renovation - especially the bathroom in my room. Also the jacuzzi on the roof did not feel nation properly. Noise from the kitchen in the mornings beginning about 7am makes it difficult to sleep in. I did, however, enjoy my stay. Great location, love the style of the place, the bed was so comfy, and the staff go out of their way to help. This is not a modern property, rather ,it is a quirky, romantic getaway tucked into a neighborhood along the río Cuale. I loved it and I would return

Really unique, charming hotel in a great location with fantastic staff. We had great service, starting with a smooth check in and tour by Rigo. Poolside cocktails by Jesus and Jerry were delicious. Blanca did an excellent job maintaining our room. Looking forward to visiting again. Really enjoyed there being so many pool options, especially liked the heated rooftop pool.

Beautiful hotel with eclectic style, 2 pools, a giant hot tub and great staff. A short walk to many restaurants, the beach and shopping. Javier at the front desk gave us great suggestions and made sure we were happy with our stay. Quite a view from our 5th floor room! We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for a week in late October. The property is clean and well-maintained. Everything you could want is within walking distance, and other things are an Uber ride away. Jesús was an awesome bartender at the rooftop pool/bar. Javier and Iván took good care of us when we arrived. The rooms are painted in vibrant colors, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby has 2 cats that I loved to see every morning. When we come to Puerto Vallarta again, we’ll make every effort to stay at this hotel. 10/10 property

Fantastic place! Hotel pool is great. Staff are great. Only thing was we had stains on our sheets upon arrival (they promptly changed them), and the neighbors have several dogs that bark all day and all night.

When I checked in first day, I asked the hotel any upgrade and benefits as a silver member of expedia, they said nothing. 2nd day, my wife had many bites of bed bug on her ankle and showed them and asked to change a room, the hotel could not even though not high season and the was a room available. Therefore, I asked the hotel cleanning properly, but the hotel did not change sheets when I came to a room. I could find hairs on our bed , many marks on a table , wash room and tub not clean , and very much drainage smell all the time.. So, I had let them to know the condition, but the hotel did not care at all. When it was rainning, water came into our room through bottom of door. So, I complained but the hotel said ir was normal…. and so on. I really disappointed at expedia this trip. I am not going to book expedia VIP hotels any more and not recommend to anyone I know. This trip was my worst trip in my life. For your reputation, I want expedia should carefully appoint VIP hotels in the future for more your customers.

During our stay we had a bug invasion. Thousands of bugs in the bathroom, and that's no exaggeration. We called the front desk and they took care of the problem right away. we had to remove everything from the bathroom and leave so that they could get rid of the bugs. There was no compensation or even an apology for the inconvenience. We wouldn't recommend ordering their continental breakfast, very pricey for what you get. Otherwise, a quiet area, comfortable bed, interesting decor

Gorgeous hotel built with lots of attention to detail, decorated with tasteful furniture and unusual artwork. Rooms are very spacious and with comfortable mattresses (we stayed in 2 different rooms during our 7 night stay, both had a nice large balcony overlooking the river). Hotel is located on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of Zona Romantica and the Malecon. We did hear barking dogs during some nights, but otherwise it was very peaceful. Lots of amenities: heated infinity pool and a bar on the rooftop with stunning views, jacuzzi on a different level, plus 2 more pools elsewhere on the property. Front staff was wonderful (thank you, Javier!). The staff all spoke good English and were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room located in the original part of the hotel [which used to be a private house], and though relatively simple, it was well prepared. Would love to stay there again!

Hotel is interesting eccentric but the rooms in the new addition are very small and lack closet space. The property is somewhat isolated and fairly far from the center of the Zona Romantica.

We loved the eclectic, unique rooms! The property is beautiful and a one of a kind. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are big and beautiful. The beds were all cozy and the a/c worked great. Our group had 3 rooms all together. The Diego, the Gabriella, and the other room on the 5th floor. The Diego was my favorite!

My room was next to some kind of machine that made noze all night and I could not sleep for 4 days. No window outside, that should have been information before. The area around is okej and the rooftop has a really nice pool and the bar staff was very great.

This property was so stunning and very clean. We enjoyed their rooftop pool, which has a great view and we felt our room was nice and comfortable. Staff were warm and welcoming and the resident cats were adorable. My only complaint is that was very noisy at night as the locals that live next to the hotel had many barking dogs and they would bark very late at night and throughout odd times in the morning. I’d definitely bring earplugs. Other than that I would definitely stay here again.

Front desk and all the staff were amazing.My room was out of this world going back in time.I was in awe looking at my chandelier,fireplace along with the claw foot bathtub.I used the 7th floor pool which had amazing views of the city and wonderful bartender and drinks.Breakfast was great on the 2nd floor along with decorated room with a site to be hold! Felt like a king..

I only had one night in Puerto Vallarta before heading to Yelapa. I really wanted to stay anywhere other than a resort and found this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here and wished I had stayed longer. The hotel and my room were beautiful and I was very comfortable. Great wifi (I was working remotely) and great hospitality from the staff. Elizabeth the cat was an added treat. I will definitely be back!

We stayed here for a week in late October. The property is clean and well-maintained. Everything you could want is within walking distance, and other things are an Uber ride away. Jesús was an awesome bartender at the rooftop pool/bar. Javier and Iván took good care of us when we arrived. The rooms are painted in vibrant colors, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby has 2 cats that I loved to see every morning. When we come to Puerto Vallarta again, we’ll make every effort to stay at this hotel. 10/10 property

The staff is excellent. The rooms are lovely (we’ve stayed here twice). The location is fabulous - quiet and charming. Lovely rooftop pool / bar where the delightful Jesus tends bar. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something other than a boring resort.

El hotel es muy agradable, la ubicación es conveniente, la habitación es muy cómoda (especialmente la cama) y el servicio del personal es súper amable. El único problema es que en el check-in te piden tu tarjeta de crédito pero no para dejar un voucher abierto, sino para sacarle una copia al plástico! Lo cual es totalmente inadecuado. Tuve que buscar un cajero para retirar efectivo y dejar un depósito por $3 mil MXN.

The Alejandro room is beautiful and spacious! Was even better than the pictures! We enjoyed everything about it, from check in to check out the staff were above and beyond helpful. The rooftop pool was ours to ourselves three times in two nights stay. We are definitely going to stay here again :)

Overall: This property is not for everyone. (We stayed at the Cortez suite; we're a family of four from Alberta, Canada and stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days) LIKED -The staff were great they were really helpful, gave recommendations, and were very accommodating. They granted my request to have a little something for my Mom's 50th birthday. -The location is superb tho it still kinda "far" relatively so I won't recommend this for those who don't want to walk. -The rooftop pool is good, it is also a plus that it is open 24 hours so you can swim anytime; welcome drinks could be better but they do the job and the bartender is a fun guy. -The design is okay but honestly it is not for everyone. My brother and my Dad didn't like the rustic design because it was a bit dated and they look dirty. -They store your luggage even after the check out time. DISLIKE -As mentioned the place looks dated and worn out, one of the washrooms in the Cortez suite (the one below) had clogged tub which was really icky; the washroom on top had really low pressure. -The extra bed was not as comfortable and the sheets and towels were not as clean.

Another wonderful stay. The staff was great, but especially want to recognize Ivan. He was very nice and extremely helpful pre stay and during our stay. Also want to recognize Rigo and Jesus. Hotel was very safe and clean. The location is perfect for us. This is our 3rd or 4th stay at this hotel and will return when we come back to our favorite city to visit in Mexico.

An absolutely stunning hotel with the most amazing staff! Carolina and Javier are some of the best front desk managers I have ever had the pleasure to stay with! The rooms are spectacular and so unique! The roof top pool with the most personable bartender Jesus made you feel like you were right at home! Breakfast was included in my second stay and was super delicious in an insanely gorgeous room with balcony views. I will stay here over and over again! So grateful and thankful to have found this hidden gem! 5 Stars across the board!

We had prepaid for 4 nights. When we saw our room, it was huge with lots of steps up and down to the different areas. I have difficulties going up and down steps and requested that was not so large! a different room. The manager said that it would be an addition $40 per night charge! When I complained, he called his boss and dropped the additional cost to $20 per night! I did not appreaciate the bait and switch game played but because we were tired and it was late, agreed to the new rate!

Gorgeous hotel built with lots of attention to detail, decorated with tasteful furniture and unusual artwork. Rooms are very spacious and with comfortable mattresses (we stayed in 2 different rooms during our 7 night stay, both had a nice large balcony overlooking the river). Hotel is located on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of Zona Romantica and the Malecon. We did hear barking dogs during some nights, but otherwise it was very peaceful. Lots of amenities: heated infinity pool and a bar on the rooftop with stunning views, jacuzzi on a different level, plus 2 more pools elsewhere on the property. Front staff was wonderful (thank you, Javier!). The staff all spoke good English and were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room located in the original part of the hotel [which used to be a private house], and though relatively simple, it was well prepared. Would love to stay there again!

We stayed in the Carlotta. This is a ground level suite. The set up was perfect for a family. Air conditioning worked amazingly for how hot it was. Our room was always cleaned impeccably and we were provided with fresh linen and towels daily. Only note is you will hear outside noise and noise from above rooms occasionally, however it didn’t bother any of us. Really loved the location! Walkable to many different places for food and drink and to the beach. Easy to catch an uber for further excursions. Would totally recommend and can’t wait to stay in the others suites!

Great location in the Romantic Zone. Within 10 min walk of the beach. Tons of restaurants. Easy access to Centro (but hills are involved). Facing the river so it's quiet. The hotel inself is very cool. It's quirky, eclectic and has a lot of it's old world elegance intact. We stayed in the Green Room. One of the smaller rooms (part of the original building), it doesn't have a deck or patio but is located next to the lower (unheated) pool/bar area. I spent many pleasant mornings sitting at the pool with my coffee. There is a 2nd (heated) pool on the top of the relatively new tower which has another bar and great views to the west (great for sunsets) and across the river to the north. The staff is great (Jesus at the roof top bar was full of information about Puerto Vallarta and makes a delicious margarita). Breakfast available.....$12US for full breakfast and $7 for continental. However, there are so many breakfast options within a 5 min walk that we only ate at the hotel once.

Great boutique hotel and wonderful, welcoming staff. I highly recommend this place. Yes, it’s a little off the beaten path compared to hotels closer to the beach, but it’s really not far at all from anything in the Zona Romantica, and the soothing sound of the river is worth every additional step.

My husband and I stayed at this adorable hotel for 3 nights. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this hotel. While the hotel boasts beautifully decorated spaces it is the staff at Rivera Del Rio that made this place wonderful. The breakfast staff, the bartender and the woman at front desk and Javier were very attentive and a pleasure to talk to. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again.

I love this boutique hotel, my room and view was stunning. Only one thing i can add the breakfast menu could be improved. Food was just ok, there is better restaurants with more authentic food for breakfast in Puerto Vallarta. View of breakfast area was amazing as well.

Hot tub broken which was the primary reason i choose hotel...Javier fat the front desk was great+++ but didnt get a warm fuzzy feeling from other staff members...breakfast was made on a hot plate...bar food in a toaster oven...bar on roof top very limited and drinks not great...i dont recommend this place...

Really unique, charming hotel in a great location with fantastic staff. We had great service, starting with a smooth check in and tour by Rigo. Poolside cocktails by Jesus and Jerry were delicious. Blanca did an excellent job maintaining our room. Looking forward to visiting again. Really enjoyed there being so many pool options, especially liked the heated rooftop pool.

Al principio puede sentirse un poco fuera de lugar estar en hotel de pv con una decoración tan barroca, pero fijándote en los detalles, viendo las obras de arte que tienen y conociendo la historia de Silver, lo transforman en una experiencia maravillosa, nos encantó.

Wonderful and colorful place to stay very close to the beach and restaurants but still quiet and relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and unique, the staff is wonderful and the pools - especially the infinity pool on the top floor are great. Will stay here again!

We were gets so warmly as soon as we got in. The hotel is just a gem of a place. Classic beauty and the room to fully spread out comfortably. We stayed in the Candelaria Suite which boasted it's private outdoor terrace, literally a few feet from the pool. I can't explain how luxurious it felt to just nest with my husband in the most confien king size bed and wake up to the enormous windows with a beautiful view of the jungle mountains. Our goal is now to come back for a visit until we stay in all the suites. Do yourself a favor and stay here. You'll soon be addicted.
